FBI
Characters: Kelly Severide x Reader, half of firehouse 51
Warnings: Brief mentions of a crime idk.
Summary: This wasn't exactly what they were thinking when an fbi agent strolled into their firehouse.
A/N: I had such a nice plan for this little beauty but then I messed up and then I remembered I had homework due tomorrow that I haven't done so please enjoy this ugly piece of writing. Kinda don't want to publish this but I need to feed you lot before I get swamped in holiday homework.
Tumblr media
"Hey, I'm looking for a Kelly Severide."
You said, asking the first person you found. It was your first time in the firehouse and this definitely wasn't how you planned it to be but you could make this work.
"Lieutenant Kelly Severide?" The woman rose her brow, her voice coming across as soft as she looked. You couldn't deny she was pretty and taking into account her blonde hair and the word paramedic on her uniform caused your brows to rise ever so slightly.
"Oh! You must be Sylvie Brett." You smiled, holding out your hand for the paramedic to shake which she did with much confusion and slight fear. "Agent Y/N Y/L/N."
"You work for the fbi." She stated, fidgeting with her fingers once your hands were released. It was clear she was shocked and you could understand why; your gun in its holster, your shiny golden badge and the bold yellow letters printed on the back of your government issued jacket.
"Yes I do." You replied with a tight lipped smile, annoyed that your job was the first impression everyone at the firehouse would be getting from you; these men and women were family to Kelly and greeting them for the first time ever in your uniform wasn't what you wanted.
Before Sylvie could fully shake off her shock, someone butted into the conversation, having spotted and recognising you.
"Y/N, you're back." Matt smiled, his arms wide inviting your for a hug which you immediately accepted. The captain was the one person in Kelly's life that knew of your existence since there was no hiding you from his roomate, especially since your stay became more permanent.
The hug was what caught everyone's attention. Sylvie talking to someone was normal but Matt hugging a stranger wasn't, hence all the heads turning and when all their eyes widened, you weren't surprised.
"Feds." Two men whispered in sync upon laying eyes on you, the others stood out of their seats and came around to you in the middle of the common room.
"What do the feds want with us now?" One man asked, crossing his arms with an attitude that you could smell from a mile away. Maybe it was his accent or it could've been his snarky tone which got him a quick reprimand from the captain but you knew his name.
"Christopher Herrmann, right?" You pointed at him, your smile brightening when he did a double take at the name you guessed correct.
"It's probably creepy that I know all your names and I really wished that we could've met under better circumstances but I will explain everything." You said, sheepishly smiling at the very confused group of firefighters.
"Y/N! What are you doing here?" Kelly noticed you from afar, it was hard not to recognise the three yellow letter the second he turned the corner.
Within seconds, Kelly enveloped you into his arms and despite the reputation that you wanted to maintain, you folded and accepted the hug, wrapping your arms around his waist, contently inhaling the comforting scent that always followed your boyfriend.
"Okay I'm sorry but who are you?"
"Agent Y/N Y/L/N." You replied automatically, not even thinking about leaving out the agent. Biting the inside of your lip, you internally cursed at yourself.
"She's my girlfriend." Kelly smirked, his arm happily resting across your shoulders where he could keep you close to him. "Whose actually supposed to be in Texas right about now, what happened?"
"Everything's fine. We apprehended our guy earlier than expected and there might've been a gunfight and there's a small possibility I was in the middle but a graze is nothing." You said with ease since it was your job and you loved everything it entailed but to your crowd, you seemed like a lunatic and a hero combined in one.
"You're kidding." Kelly looked down at you in concern, his heart rate picking up at the mere thought of you getting hurt, even if you brushed it off as a papercut.
Before you could explain further that a graze inflicted zero pain, a man you could name purely based off the aura that surrounded him entered the common room.
"Agent, what can we do for you?" The tallest man came forward and asked, his hands shaking yours before they were on his hips. From his stance and the way his voice was so gentle but commandeering made it easy for you to deduce his position in the firehouse; it also helped that Kelly continuously boasted about the men and women of 51.
"I'm sorry for interrupting your day chief." You firstly apologised, sheepishly smiling at the firefighters who were shocked at Kelly's arm still wrapped around your waist. "I need nothing but a few minutes with lieutenant Severide and I'll be out your hair."
"Don't be silly." Kelly shook his head, looking down at you with a slight frown. "Why don't you stay for lunch, you can't just appear out of nowhere and not eat with us."
"I have so much paperwork I left behind. My boss will have my throat if they're not done." You tried fighting Kelly but he looked at you with such big eyes that you wanted to drown yourself in and a slight pout was making itself known and before you knew it, you were caving in.
"Alright, just a few bites and then I have to go."
It was safe to say, some feds were okay.

Tumblr media
You had known Kelly Severide ever since you were both kids, considering you were next door neighbors. You didn't have the best childhood and needed a friend and you found that in Kelly. You two had grown up and had been there for each other through thick and thin. Through bad breakups with shitty boyfriends and girlfriends. You shut down all the rumors going around about Kelly even though you probably knew they were true especially with him being a womanizer, but you had to defend your friend and crush.
——————————————————————
Middle school hit and your friendship was stronger than ever and you two had stayed thick as thieves no matter how popular he had become. When his girlfriend, and also the captain of the soccer team, tried to get him to stop hanging around you because she didn't like you, he immediately broke up with her. One particular night they yelling and the fighting got so bad at your house that it became physical and your father had hit you and then threw a plate against the wall, breaking it and some of it cut you. Your mother tried to stop it but your father turned on her and she looked at you with a particular look and you ran, you ran to Kelly. When he saw you and the shape you were in, he grew furious but he took you up to your room and cleaned you up and held you that night.
——————————————————————
When high school came around your friendship and crush were still going strong. It became normal around the school to see each other with each other, so normal that his friends started becoming your friends and vice versa. Around sophomore year a particularly bad night occurred over at the Y/L/N Household. Your mother had just passed away due to some complications from the abuse your father had laid on her, the next day your father started to drink heavily starting in the morning and didn't end at all. You had just come home from school to find your father sitting at the kitchen table drinking. “About time you came home.” He said with a bite in his tone.
“I was at school.” You said slightly trembling. Your father looked up at you in rage.
“From now on you're not going to school. You're staying here.” He said not really in the right mental state.
“Dad, I can't do that. I need to go to school.” You said you wanted Kelly.
“Not anymore. Now make dinner.” He said harshly.
“No, Dad. I have homework to do and I promised Kelly I would meet up with him to help him.” You said and the anger flashed through your father’s face.
“You're always with him. Kelly this, Kelly that. I bet you've probably fucked him you slut.” He said and that brought tears to your eyes.
“No, I haven't.” You said “I'm not with him.” You added and your dad scoffed.
“Whatever. Now, get to cleaning this place is dirty and cooking. I'm hungry.” He spoke
“No, I need to do homework and then meet Kelly. I've told you this.” You said something must've snapped in him because he was suddenly picking up his glass and throwing it at you. It grazed you and hit the wall exploding in a million pieces and most of those cut you and you ducked for cover. Your dad stalked over to you and grabbed you by the hair and slammed you up against the wall he was yelling and threatening you. Tears were coming out fast.
“Stop you're crying.” He said and punched you in the face and you cradled your face and that just made him grow angrier. He slammed your head into the wall and then threw you down onto the ground. He kicked you twice in the ribs, breaking some, and several in the stomach. There were plates on a shelf next to you and he reached over and pulled that down over you, they broke all over you and cut you. You were sure you were bloody and not a very good sight to look at. You were close to passing out and you just wanted Kelly.
“Kelly.” You mumbled and your dad rolled his eyes.
“There you go saying his name. He can't save you now.” Your dad said and then brought his boot cover foot and it connected it with your head and that brought stars to your vision. Kelly, you wanted Kelly and now. Your dad finally stopped his attack on you and then stormed away, grabbed his keys and left considering you heard his truck start up. He left the door standing wide open.
Kelly had just gotten home from his baseball practice when he noticed your car in the driveway but not your dad's. He also noticed the door left wide open and that made his stomach drop. He quickly pulled into your driveway and got out and rushed in and the scene before his eyes made his blood boil. You were laid there in a pool of your own blood and semi-conscious. “Son of a bitch.” He said to himself he made it very clear that he didn't like your dad early on. “Hey, Angel. Wake up for me. Please.” Kelly said while stroking your cheek but nothing had worked. “You’re really scaring me.” He said. You heard a voice and it sounded like Kelly’s.
“Kel?” You asked, slurring your words and eyes cracking open. You saw him crouching down in front of you.
“Yea, it's me.” He said
“Dad-” You began but he shushed you.
“I know, Angel. I know.” He said smiling sadly and then pulled out his phone. “I’m gonna call 911. Just hang tight.” He said and you just stared at him everything sounded underwater. You could hear him talking but couldn’t pay attention. Your eyes started to close “Hey, hey, hey. Keep those eyes open for me.” He said but they were already shutting “Y/N-” he said and the last thing you heard before you let the darkness win.
The next thing you remember was waking up in the hospital with Kelly asleep by your side. You hurt all over and you vowed to yourself that you would become a paramedic to help people in need. You tried sitting up and groaned and that is what woke him up. “Woah. Hey. It’s ok, Angel.” He said and got up helped you lay back down.
“Dad?” You asked and he smiled sadly.
“He was found with his truck wrapped around a tree, he survived and when he gets healthy enough, he is going to prison.” He said and you nodded and then your eyes were closing. “Go to sleep, Angel. I’ll be right here.” He said and you let your eyes slip closed.
“I love you, Kel. More than a friend.” You said and he smiled.
“I love you too. More than a friend.” He repeated and you smiled and then fell asleep. When you woke up again, he brought up what you said and told him it was true and he smiled and told you that he felt the same way. From that day you two started to date.
——————————————————————
When you both graduated high school you decided to follow Kelly everywhere and owed him your life because he saved your life. You ended up going with him to the fire academy and excelling through it and had graduated as a paramedic and him as a firefighter. After graduation he had proposed to you and it was an immediate yes.
Considering that you both had gotten engaged you both followed each other through the different firehouses and both ended up at Firehouse 51. When you got the position for a paramedic on Ambulance 61, he got his position on Rescue Squad 3 and you both were so happy. It was exciting and both were so happy.
Kelly and you had talked about kids and decided not to wait until you both were married and when it happened then it happened. You loved the thought of getting married but were happy to be engaged with the love of your life. Getting with you and getting engaged changed Kelly for the good, he stopped being a womanizer and he devoted himself to you and only you.
——————————————————————
You both had been sleeping soundly in your own bed at your house after being off for 3 days and having a lot of fun in the bedroom trying but not really trying for a child. Your alarm had gone off at 6:30 AM and you jolted awake. When you turned over and saw the time you groaned and shut the alarm off. “Is it time already?” Kelly asked with a gravely and sleep ridden voice and you smiled and rolled over looking at him. You didn’t have to go in until 8:00 AM.
“Sadly yes.” You said and kissed him and he returned the kiss. “But hey, we'll be with each other for the next 2 days.” You said and he smiled.
“That we will, Angel.” Kelly said and kissed you rolling over to where he was pinning you underneath him. The kissing got more intense and you were planning on letting it go further but you needed to get to work before Boden had both of your heads.
“As much as I want to continue this. We really need to get to work.” You said and he bowed his head and sighed in defeat. He knew you right.
“You’re always right.” He said and you smiled and kissed him again but he continued his attack on you.
“Kel.” You warned but he just continued his attack on your neck and then he was inching his way down your body until he got to the hem of his shirt that you stole from him. “Baby.” You moaned out and he smirked and went lower to your underwear cover pussy. He pushed your legs open and began kissing the inside of your thighs as he slid your underwear down your legs and threw them somewhere. Then he dove straight in and your head was thrown back “Kelly!” You shouted but turned into a moan. Your hands went to his head he licked a broad stripe up your folds as his hands kept your thighs spread. He swirled his tongue around your entrance and then bit your clit gently and that had you letting out a pornographic moan. Your back arched pleasure and that rubber band feeling was creeping up a tall tale sign you were about to cum. “I’m gonna cum.” You warned and he quickened his pace and when he sucked on your clit and gently bit it again for the second time had you coming undone. “I'm cumming!” You moaned out and that rubber band snapped and you saw stars. You came all over his face and he was licking it up like it was his last meal. When you came down from your high, he was sitting up and lying next to you. You laid there for a few minutes catching your breath “That was amazing.” You said and he smiled and leaned over and kissed you, you could taste yourself on his tongue.
“Have to take care of my girl.” He said after he broke the kiss and you smiled.
“Now we have to get ready.” You said and got up. He laid there watching you. Once you had disappeared into the bathroom, he and when he heard the shower running, he got up and smirked. He stripped off his sweats and underwear leaving him nude. He walked into the bathroom and when you heard the shower door open you smiled.
“Just couldn’t stand it could you?” You asked and he smirked.
“How can? Especially knowing my sexy fiancée is in here all alone and may need some assistance.” He said and you laughed as he started to finish what you had started and then it was your turn to help him. As you were soaping him up and rinsing him off you got down to his very erect and noticeable hard on, you smirked.
“Want me to help you with that?” You asked and he smirked.
“I would never say no to you.” He said and you smiled and he helped you ease your way down once he knew what you were doing. All soap was gone and both of you were clean but you always did enjoy standing there under the hot water. Your hand traveled down to his cock and pumped it while you kissed the tip and kitten licked it and that had him moaning. “Oh, Angel. That feels so good.” He said and you smirked and took the tip into your mouth and swirled it with your tongue and then you started moving your head up and down. Kelly’s head was thrown back in pleasure. One hand went to your head and the other braced himself on the shower wall. “Angel.” He moaned out. You kept changing your speed and then you hollowed your cheeks and took him deeper until he hit the back of your throat. You breathed through your nose “I’m close, Y/N/N.” He said and you knew it was true especially when your other hand that wasn’t on his cock went to his balls you felt them tightening up. What did him in was when you squeezed his cock and his balls at the same time “I’m cumming, Angel.” He moaned out and then his thick load shot into the back of your throat and you swallowed it all. When he was done you slowly drug your mouth off his cock and released him with a pop. He helped you stand up and kissed you tasting himself. You smiled at him “Thank you, Angel.” He said and tucked a piece of wet hair behind your ear.
“Anytime babe.” You said and then you both were getting out and getting ready. Once everything was ready to go you looked at your phone 7:20 AM it read and your eyes bugged out of your head.
“What is it, Angel?” He asked when he noticed your expression.
“We’re gonna be late.” You said and he smirked.
“Then let me drive.” He said and you groaned but agreed. You both walked out to his Jeep and he booked it to the firehouse. 7:50 AM, you had cut it close but now you felt nauseous.
“Never letting you drive again.” You said as you grabbed your bag.
“Oh, come on. I got us here on time.” He said and you just shook your head and the both of you headed in. Both of you put your bags in the locker room and went to hear the reports and once that was over your 2-day shift started.
6 hours into your shift nothing really exciting happened, just a few small calls that didn’t require everyone to go out. You were grateful for the silent morning and not much happening because that meant you could spend time with Kelly and plan your wedding with your bridesmaids, Sylvie Brett and Grabriela Dawson and maid of honor, Stella Kidd. “So, have you picked a color yet?” Sylvie asked.
“I have 2 picked out navy blue and sage green.” You said and she nodded.
“Oh, navy blue would look so pretty.” Stella said and you smiled as you flipped through some magazines. You were mid flip when Kelly walked into the room you looked up when you saw him coming over and kissed you.
“How is my beautiful fiancée doing?” He asked and you smiled and you could hear the girls aweing at you both and you rolled your eyes at them.
“Oh hush. I’m doing well. A little bit achy from the rambunctious patient we had last call.” You said and he gave you a look “Kel, I’m fine nothing major happened and we handled it.” You said and he eased up.
“You know I want you to be safe on every call.” He said and you nodded and watched him walk over to the fridge and grab two bottles of water and something to snack on and brought it to you. You gladly accepted them.
“You two are so adorable.” Gabby said and you chuckled and made room for Kelly to sit down and then you leaned into him and started flipping through the magazine again as he fed you some of his snack. “So, you have a cake picked out?” She asked and you nodded.
“We do. It’s a chocolate strawberry cake.” Kelly said “It’s her favorite and I want her to be happy on her special day.” He said and kissed your temple. You smiled and played with your engagement ring.
“Hey it’s your day too.” You argued and looked at him.
“Yes, but to me it’s going to be all about you and celebrating you being with me.” He said and again the girls awed at the both of you and again you rolled your eyes but smiled. The wedding talk continues and Kelly put his input in. When the urge to go to the bathroom was needed you got up and he whined. “Where are you going?” He asked pouting and you turned to him.
“I have to go to the bathroom, Babe. Unless you want to join.” You said as a joke and he started to get up but you stopped him “I was joking. I’ll be back soon.” You said and he pouted again.
“Fine. I’ll miss you.” He said and you laughed.
“I’ll be right back.” You said and the girls all laughed. You went to the bathroom and as you were washing your hands the bells rang signaling for Rescue Squad 3, Truck 81, Ambulance 61, and Engine 51. It must be serious if they were sending everyone out. You quickly rushed the ambulance and he stopped you before you got in and he kissed you hard and you returned the kiss. “I love you.” You said as you hopped into the vehicle.
“I love you too.” He said and then you both got in your vehicles and then you were off to the call. The call was made by a bystander that had witnessed a gang fight had taken place and there were some casualties but also some that needed medical attention as well as a fire that had broken out due to a bullet hitting a gas tank of a car. Intelligence was also called since it was their case they were working on. You were quick to jump out when the ambulance had stopped. Boden gave orders and everyone got to work. You, Sylvie, and Gabby along with Herrmann, Otis, Kelly, Brian and Peter moved people that needed serious attention to one place and the ones that didn't move to another then the deceased to another with sheets laying over them. Intelligence and other police officers were booking left and right. You had just finished with one patient when Jay grabbed your attention.
“Hey, Y/N! I need you over here!” He said and you rushed over with your bag. When you got there a man in his mid-20s was lying unconscious on the ground but breathing. You knelt down next to him and Jay. Jay was waiting to do anything to help.
“Sir, can you hear me?” You asked while taking a listen to him and everything sounded normal. You still hadn't gotten a response so you made your hand into a fist and rubbed his sternum. That definitely got a reaction out of him because before Jay could stop him, he had grabbed a knife that was in his back pocket and drove it first into your stomach. At first you didn't feel it and Jay was just shocked. You Felt it when the knife pulled out and found its way into your ribs. Jay took action and was quick to apprehend the person and cuff him. He called for someone to get the person off the ground and once they were gone Jay turned his direction to you.
“Hey it's ok. You're going to be ok.” Jay said as he started putting pressure on your wounds.
“Kelly. Want Kelly.” You mumbled out and Jay nodded and looked up looking for your fiancé and when he found him, he shouted his name.
“Kelly!” Jay shouted and that caused Kelly to look up and his face drained of color when he saw you on the ground with blood and Jay trying to help. He was rushing over to get to you.
“What the hell happened?” Kelly asked when he arrived and took over for Jay but Jay stayed close wanting to help his friends.
“I found a guy on the ground unconscious and called her over since she was available. She was checking on him and trying to wake him up and he woke up startled and took out a knife we both didn't see and stabbed her before I could do anything. He was quick and got a second stab in.” Jay said and Kelly nodded, not mad at anyone this could happen to anyone. He knew moving someone without knowing their injuries could end up making it worse for them.
“Kel?” You asked and he looked down and saw you staring at him with wild unfocused eyes. You looked so scared.
“I'm here, Angel. I'm here.” He said and pressed harder on your wounds. Blood was starting to seep out between his fingers. “Jay, go and get Sylvie and Gabby. Tell them it's Y/N. Tell them to bring the gurney and hurry.” He said and Jay nodded and went to find them.
“I'm sorry.” You said and Kelly looked at you confused.
“Why are you sorry?” He asked
“I didn't see the knife.” You said and he shook his head.
“Nobody could've seen it. You and Jay did the right thing in not moving him.” He said and you nodded and then you started coughing which brought blood and it was getting harder to breathe. “Hey hey, don't you give up on me yet.” He said and grabbed your gloved hand and he could feel your ring through it. He decided he needed to be skin to skin with you so he ripped the gloves off and your diamond ring was out on display for everyone to see.  “We have so many plans, Angel. Don't leave me.” He added you so desperately tried to keep your eyes open and you were winning the fight but barely.
“Oh my god.” Sylvie gasped and both her and Gabby got to work. The commotion caught the attention of a few others and they were quick to come over. “Hey, Y/N/N. Can you hear me?” Sylvie asked and you nodded your head and looked over at her.
“Kel?” You asked, losing a lot of blood.
“I'm right here, Y/N. I'm right here.” He said and your head lolled over to look at him. Then your eyes closed and your breathing stopped. “Y/N! No no no no.” Kelly said and removed his hands and started chest compression and that kicked everyone into gear. Gabby put a pulse ox on you and connected leads to you and it showed a flatline and tears came to Kelly's, well everyone's, eyes. “Come on. Come on.” He said and continued CPR. About 2 minutes later your heart started beating again and he sighed in relief. Gabby started an IV and Kelly’s hands went to the puncture wounds again.
Everyone started talking and then you felt yourself being lifted up and onto the gurney by several people. You were moving and it felt like you were floating. Nothing was in focus and every sound was underwater. You were loaded into the back of the ambulance and then you were speeding away. Kelly never once left your side and nobody argued with him.
Getting to Med felt like forever but it was only a short 3 minutes but in those 3 minutes Kelly's world stopped again. Your heart was beating strong and then all of a sudden it just stopped. Gabby was quick to start CPR again. “If we don't get her back soon, her chances to survive are low.” She said and just as soon as the ambulance pulled up to Med your heart started again. When the doors opened there was Connor and a few nurses standing there and as soon as the gurney was off the ambulance you were being wheeled away. Talking was heard but you couldn't focus on it. Your eyes were closed.
“Kelly, you know you can't go back with us.” Connor said
“I know. Just take care of her. Angel, I'll be here when you're done. Keep fighting.” Kelly said, bending down and kissing your forehead and then your ring. “I love you.” Kelly added as tears ran down his face and you were wheeled behind the door. Kelly just stood there not knowing what to do until Otis came behind him and grabbed his shoulders and led him to the waiting room. Before they wheeled you behind the doors, they had taken your engagement ring off and gave it to him. He looked up and saw most of everyone there but nobody said a word. He looked down at your engagement ring and just started to let tears escape. He needed you.
——————————————————————
“Alright I want a quick x-ray and an ultrasound then I want her prepped and quickly.” Conner said and everybody let him know that they understood and then they were on it. An x-ray was taken and the tech froze.
“Uh, Conner. I might want to come and take a look at this.” He said and Connor rushed over.
“She’s pregnant.” He confirmed “Someone call Dr. Manning. Tell her it is an emergency.” He said
“On it!” A nurse said and was quick to get her on the phone. In no time Natalie was rushing into the OR, she was getting the ultrasound up and running and was quick to get it on you.
“It looks like she is 9 weeks pregnant and it looks like the knife didn’t even touch the placenta but it looks like it caught her kidney.” She said “I’ll stay and monitor the baby.” She said and Connor nodded and started giving directions out. The surgery was stressful but it was coming along great. “The baby's heart rate and breathing are great.” Natalie said just about the time your heart rate was beginning to drop.
“Heart is dropping and her breathing is labored.” The surgical nurse said and that concerned both of the doctors. Then your heart monitor flatlined.
“Starting CPR!” Connor said and he started the chest compressions. “Come on, Y/N/N. You got a fiancé that is worried sick about you and a baby to grow and raise” he said and you must be listening because after about 3 minutes of CPR your heart started to beat again. “Ok, she’s back! Let’s hurry this and get her into recovery.” He said calmly and they finished quickly. They had to fix your lung and remove one of your kidneys but you were going to survive.
——————————————————————
4 hours is how long everyone had to wait. Your team members, who were your family, weren’t going to go anywhere especially not when one of their own was fighting for her life. Kelly was a nervous wreck and he hadn’t even said a word since he arrived, nobody was going to push him to talk. Boden had declared him off since it was his fiancée in there and that considered him family. Nobody had come out and whenever someone had come out it wasn’t Connor and his heart sank a little more each time. The plans that you two had made and planned on making were running through his head. He thought about starting a family with you and the wedding you two were going to have. As he was thinking about it all, he remembered your diamond ring in his hand, it shouldn’t be in his hand, it should be on your finger. He took one last look at it and then took his chain off around his neck and unclasped it and slid on it, he then put the chain back around his neck.
Finally, Connor came out and he stood there for a minute until he saw Kelly and the crew. He walked over to them and when Kelly heard footsteps he looked up and quickly stood up. “Connor?” Kelly asked Connor, looked at him and smiled.
“They’re both going to be just fine.” He said and Kelly looked at him shocked.
“Both?” Kelly questioned
“Yes, Y/N is 9 weeks pregnant. I take it neither of you knew.” He said, reading the expression on Kelly’s face.
“No. We’ve been trying but not really trying.” He said and Connor smiled. “How is Y/N?” He asked
“We lost her once but got her back quickly. The knife got her kidney so we had to remove that and we fixed her lung. I’m suggesting a few weeks to a month off from work but she can do very light duty.” Connor said and everyone nodded, mostly Boden. “I can take you to her now.” He said.
“Please.” Kelly said and Connor smiled and nodded. He led Kelly the way and while he was walking past his crew, they gave him a chorus of ‘Congratulations’. They weren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Kelly and Connor arrived at your room and he walked in and sat down on the chair. “If something happens, please grab one of the nurses and they’ll either page me or Natalie or both of us will be here.” He said and Kelly nodded “Oh and Kelly?” He added and Kelly looked up at him. “Congratulations.” He said and Kelly smiled and Connor was off. He was left there sitting with you and letting tears fall.
“You scared me, Angel. When I saw you lying there with Jay putting pressure on your wounds, my world stopped. Then when you stopped breathing and your heart stopped twice on the way here, it scared the shit out of me. We’re going to be parents, Angel. I don’t know if you can hear me but you, I’m so glad you chose to stay with me. I would be so lost without you. I love you so much.” He said and kissed your forehead.
Nurses were in and out checking on you and the baby and the crew came and saw you but couldn’t stay long and Kelly understood and he knew you would understand too. Kelly wasn’t going to leave your side for nothing and nobody was going to make him and Boden understood. He wanted to put your ring back on but refrained against it because he didn’t want them taking it off again.
2 days had passed and you still hadn’t woken up but that was to be understood it helped your body heal. They kept IVs running to keep you and the baby hydrated and it had some nutrients in it to keep you both nourished from the lack of food being eaten. It was during the night when you woke up and you looked around the room taking in the noise and where you were at. Then you looked over to your right and saw Kelly sleeping. You reached a hand over and stroked his cheek which woke him up and then when he saw you were awake, he was up with a start. About that time Connor and Natalie had come and smiled. “Nice to see you awake.” Connor said and you smiled and then grimaced in pain when you tried to move.
“Take it easy. You just had some major surgery. We also don’t want to stress the baby out.” Natalie said and you pulled a confused face.
“Baby?” You asked voice scratchy and Kelly was quick to grab the cup of water and bring the straw to your lips and you drank some and pushed it away.
“Yes, we did an x-ray to see where the knife had hit and when the baby popped up, I was called in and I did an ultrasound to confirm that you are 9 weeks pregnant. I take it you didn’t know.” Natalie said and you shook your head but smiled “Congratulations.” She said with a small smile and you smiled back.
“Thank you. We were trying for a kid but haven’t been trying very hard.” You said and she smiled.
“The knife punctured your kidney and your lung. We removed your kidney and repaired your lung. I want you to take it very easy for a few weeks and if you go back to work then it’s going to have to be very light duty.” Connor said and you nodded. He and Natalie went over a few things with you and then left. They wanted you to stay in the hospital for at least a week to make sure everything was ok and no complications and you agreed along with Kelly.
“We’re going to be parents.” You said and he smiled and nodded then you looked down at your bare hand “Where is my ring?” You asked almost panicked and he smiled and pulled it out on his chain.
“Right here baby.” He said and pulled it off and took it off and put it back on your hand where it belonged. You let out a yawn and he chuckled. “Go back to sleep baby. I’ll be here when you wake up.” He said and leaned up and kissed your forehead again.
As you fell back asleep you smiled and thought about your baby. The two of you were going to be parents and you couldn’t wait. All you could think about is how good of a father Kelly was going to make and you couldn’t wait. You couldn’t wait to marry him and raise his kid with him. The three of you were going to be one happy family and that was something worth staying for.

MIDNIGHTS - TAYLOR SWIFT WRITING CHALLENGE MASTERLIST
-----------------------------
My first memory of that night was getting pulled into a hug as soon as I walked into the bar.
It was Sylvie, who had been texting me every time she went out to join them.
I hugged her back, chuckling a bit at her excitement.
I had been ignoring her.
I had been ignoring most people outside of work.
It was a natural part of the last few weeks I had gone through.
"I missed you," she mumbled into my ear before stepping back. "You look amazing."
"Thanks," I replied, looking down at myself for a moment.
It had been a while since I had worn the outfit that I wore that night. I liked it. It made me feel confident and happy. It was a feeling that I deserved... even though I had to actively work to convince myself of that fact.
"I'm sorry for not joining you sooner," I explained.
"No, no, it's fine," she promised. "I was just getting worried about you."
I hugged her again before letting her drag me to the bar.
I personally believe that we all deserve a Sylvie. The golden retriever that is incredibly protective and supportive. We all deserved that love and support from someone. It would suit us all well if we all took on that role for another person.
I hopped up on the bar stool.
It was a good night... for the most part.
I got to see plenty of people that I hadn't seen in a long time. It was nice to be back with them all. I had spent so much time running from work to home and then back to work that I had lost sight of the joy of being connected to my friends during times that weren't emergencies.
There was a lull in the conversation.
It was met with someone placing themself in the seat on the other side of me. Sylvie grinned at me before standing up and walking to one of the tables. I turned around and saw Jay Halstead sitting next to me.
I didn't know him super well. We had mostly seen each other in passing. He'd be at the E.D with a victim or suspect or just to talk to his brother while I was going about my work. The environment was usually too fast to give me time to stop and make small talk with him.
But now, I had the time and will to make that effort.
"Hey," I said. "Nice to see you, Jay."
"You too," he replied. "It's strange to not see you running around from room to room."
I chuckled. "Yeah... been a long time since I went out."
"I hope I don't make you regret the choice."
"I doubt it," I shrugged. "May make it worth the time."
He chuckled this time.
The conversation was nice. Natural. It had been a long time since I had so naturally fallen into a conversation with someone that I hadn't known for an extended period of time.
And then, I just felt uncomfortable.
Something washed over me like a wave.
There's this feeling when you're being stared at. It's almost like a tickle. Something just felt off, even if you couldn't see it.
I turned my head, pretending to scratch my eye as I looked over.
I managed to catch Kelly's eyes on me as I did so.
I almost groaned.
Kelly and I had a history.
He was the reason that I hadn't wanted to go out. I didn't want to see him again. I didn't want to deal with him.
Our relationship was messy. Messy and private.
I didn't mind a private relationship. I did mind Kelly's definition of a private relationship. When I pushed for more, he made me feel guilty for trying. It was all just... too much.
I felt like a secret.
He was free to talk to and flirt with whomever he wanted to. However, if he ever thought I did the same, he'd find some way to make me feel guilty.
I wanted to believe none of it was intentional. That he just didn't know better. But that doesn't make it better. That didn't mean I had to sit there in it.
So, I didn't.
I called the whole thing off.
Adjusting back to being myself was rough. I hadn't even realized how much I had changed. That's what I was trying to do by focusing on work and then going straight home. I was trying to go back to who I was before.
But here he was, already making me feel like my confidence for the night shouldn't be on display for everyone else. Just him.
I turned back to Jay a moment after I looked away.
I must've tensed a little too much. He noticed something.
"You okay," he asked. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused by the question. "You just seem uneasy."
"I'm fine," I waved it off. "Please, keep telling your story. Sorry."
"You sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure," I promised.
He grinned at me and nodded. He found his way back to the story had been telling me. Something about his brother. I made a note to make fun of Will at work later using the information I was being given.
We had been talking for another few minutes before I felt a hand on my upper arm.
I looked over to see Kelly right next to me.
"Can we talk," he asked like I wasn't in the middle of a conversation.
I looked over at Jay for a moment. "Just a minute. I'll be right back, I promise."
Jay nodded. "I'll be here."
I grinned at him.
I stood up and followed Kelly outside. I knew that I needed to handle this now. Firm line in the sand. I needed to put up a boundary... which was nerve-wracking but necessary.
"What do you want," I asked.
"What's going on there?" he replied.
"I'm having a conversation with a person at a bar," I shrugged. "Why do you care?"
"Because I care about you."
"I'm sure," I nodded. "But good news, you and I aren't a thing anymore, meaning that you don't have to supervise my conversations. I'm an adult, Kelly."
He sighed, looking down.
"I... I don't want you to be involved in my life, Kelly. I'm sorry but I don't. You may not realize it completely, but I... I wasn't happy with you. Not the way we were. So, we're done. I would appreciate it if you would try to maintain your distance outside of work-related circumstances."
"What are you talking about?"
There it was.
That fear that he truly was unaware of what he had been doing. I thought he would have had some kind of wake-up call. I was wrong.
"I tried everything just to get you to see me as more than... whatever you thought I was," I explained. "I... I wasted so much time giving all of myself just for you to dismiss me in the morning after you got your fix."
He rolled his eyes. "Come on, you're being a bit dramatic-"
"Gifts and date plans and birthdays and new clothes to impress and... let's face it, we had different intentions when it came to this relationship, Kelly," I shrugged at him. "I'm not gonna stay in a relationship where the effort I put in isn't appreciated or reciprocated."
"So, what?" he said. "You're just gonna go hook up with Jay? A couple of weeks is what it took for you to be ready to jump into bed with someone?"
"I was gonna be mature about this," I muttered. I took a deep breath and offered him a sickeningly sweet smile. "Some of us can be friendly without the intention of getting into someone's pants. I know that's a new concept for you."
"He doesn't see it that way."
"And I can handle that," I nodded. "Be sure he takes me to dinner first."
Kelly's jaw just clenched.
"Have a good night, Kelly," I waved before walking back inside.
Jay was still sitting at the bar, awkwardly tapping his fingers against the side of his glass.
"Hey, sorry about that," I said as I sat next to him again.
"Everything okay," he asked.
"Yeah," I nodded. "All taken care of."
Jay just nodded.
"You were telling me a story," I motioned for him to keep talking, wanting to get back into the conversation.
"Right, yeah..."
If Kelly came into the bar after that, I didn't see him.
I felt like a weight rolled off my shoulders as I had walked back inside that night. I felt more freedom. It was easier to breathe and smile and talk without focusing on every piece of my relationship with Kelly. I only had to focus on myself.
And I have to say... focusing on myself felt really, really good.

Stella sighed as she plopped her last box on the table. After hauling in every single package of her belongings into her new apartment, she felt dead on her feet and had just enough energy to fall on her new couch. She laid down and closed her eyes, taking her time in evening her breaths and allowing the aches to leave her overworked muscles.
Chicago was a new slate for her. It was her first time on her own and while it was scary, she was enlivened with the road ahead of her. She’d enrolled in the fire academy and was due to start her first day on Monday. There were no new friends made as of yet, but she had perused the area in her battered Jeep Scrambler and found interesting little coffee shops and hole in the wall restaurants she might explore in her off time.
And despite its desolate environment, she was proud to call this dingy old apartment her own. It was dirt cheap and probably had a broken health code violation or two, but it was the first place she could call hers and that would have to be enough for right now.
She sought comfort on the leather couch she copped on sale from Walmart and her eyes were heavy, silently asking for rest. It was right when she was on the brink of a good ass nap, that she heard the miniscule pitter patter of feet across the dusty wooden floors. She recognized the sound immediately, due to her other previous abhorrent living conditions. The gasp flew from her mouth before she could even fully sit up and her elevated pulse left her just a little weary on her feet when she rose up like a rocket.
“Shit, shit, shit!” She exclaimed.
Her eyes raced around the room, looking for that nettlesome rodent that was somewhere spurting across her living room floor.
She’d give the big creature its credit, it was by the largest rat she’d ever seen in her life. And even still, it was moving rapidly around for its size.
“I don’t get paid enough for this shit,” Stella grumbled.
She actually hadn’t been paid anything at all. The landlord had allowed her to pay several months rent in advance with the money she’d saved up for the past year. But with her focus on excelling at the fire academy, she had no incoming cash at the moment, including the money it’d probably cost to get an exterminator here.
“Plan B, I guess.”
She actually didn’t have a plan B and she looked around her unpacked apartment for anything to kill the vermin with.
When Stella first came to look around at the place, she had noticed an abandoned hoe outside on the stoop. It hadn’t moved even after she signed her lease papers and was still there today in its corner as she walked in and out of the building to move her things in.
“Ding, ding, ding,” she said to herself as she walked outside to grab it.
She was so focused on her designated path that she hadn’t looked up with enough notice to collide straight into a hunk of flesh.
Hands were there to grasp her before she fell to the ground from the force of the impact. She groaned in surprise and looked up to be met with a smirking expression from a handsome, rugged man. Stella only took two seconds to admire how attractive he was considering she was still focused on getting that rat out of her apartment.
She apologized with a mutter, “Sorry, woman on a mission.”
Even as she moved to walk around him, he held onto her, “Wait. You’re my new neighbor?”
Stella looked at him again with a sense of confusion before looking out at the building next door and the classic Ford Mustang parked out front that wasn’t there before.
“Hmm, I guess I am. Stella.” She held out a hand to introduce herself.
“Kelly,” the man responded with a firm shake.
“Well, I’d love to stay at chat but I gotta go see a man about a rat.”
Kelly guffawed, “I think you mean horse.”
Stella grinned awkwardly, “No, I mean a literal rat.” She grabbed the hoe that was a few feet from her. “Wish me luck.”
She didn’t wait for him to leave, merely stalking back in like the rat axe murderer she would be for the next few minutes. Instead of walking back to his apartment, he stood there for a few minutes in both amusement and deep thought. He considered whether she’d call the police for him being a trespasser and he figured he’d take the chance, considering she seemed like cool-weathered.
He slowly ambled in, grinning at the curses he could hear from her while in the hallway. If the unit was anything like his own, he knew the hallway led to the living room and the kitchen branched off shortly before then.
He took that detour, hoping that what he was looking for would be there. It took a few glances into the unpacked boxes but he clicked his tongue in approval once he found what he was looking for. He grabbed it and then picked up a random container that’d be large enough for the creature.
Walking into the living room, Kelly was amused once again at Stella taking haphazard swings with the hoe while trying to capture the rat. He wanted to warn her that she’d potentially mess up her floors if she kept doing that, but the last thing he wanted was to scare her or the rat that was almost in the perfect position to be cornered.
So instead of speaking up, he quietly traipsed over to the other side of the room to put the vermin in the perfect position of being captured. Stella looked up at him and before she could speak, he held up a finger. He poured a little bit of the ammonium cleaner in the storage box and took a few more quiet steps towards the rat. He locked eyes with her again while doing so and their steps were in tandem until the pest was trapped between them. Attempting to make its run, Kelly dropped the container over it and watched its movements gradually slow.
“Huh,” Stella coughed out. Her eyebrows rose in surprise before she looked back over at Kelly, “Smart.”
Kelly merely shrugged in response.
Stella walked over to him, holding her hand out, “I guess I should re-introduce myself properly.”
They exchanged names yet again, this time with bright smiles and much more appreciation. Stella let out a breath of relief, “Boy, I don’t know about you but that kinda took the wind out of me,” she started walking back towards the kitchen, “You want something to drink?”
Kelly looked down at his watch, “Another time.” He adjusted his jacket and kicked at the box with the now dead rat inside it.
“Oh, well definitely another time! How else am I gonna thank you for potentially saving me from rabies?”
He simply chuckled, though it wasn’t something he was going to hold her to. She needed help and he was simply there to provide an assist. He hadn’t planned to say anything further, but only set to walk out her unit and back to his.
“Well, I guess, I’ll be seeing you!”
He nodded in goodbye, neither of them knowing just how soon they’d be seeing each other.

.He Should've Lived.
Kelly Severide x Reader
Imagine: You work at Chicago Med and you lose a little boy on your shift one day. It reminds you of your little brother who died. You go home a mess and your husband, Kelly, comforts you.
Tumblr media
You have been working in the ED at Chicago Med for about three years. It holds a special place in your heart.
Your work partners are your best friends and some you consider family. It’s even where you met your now husband and baby daddy, Kelly Severide.
You specialize in pediatrics, working with children. You have always loved working with children and you were excited to have your own baby in only 10 weeks. But some days and some diagnoses really got to you.
Today, you lost a child. Luke was an five year old boy, with all the innocence in the world. His mother and sister had brought him in because he was getting headaches. You had run a multitude of tests and found a large tumor pressing on his brain.
As you were talking to the boy and his mom about what you had found, telling them their options of what to do next since it was urgent, the boy had fallen back on the bed. It was the last time you had seen him responsive.
You yelled for a crash cart as Maggie held the mother and sister back. You fought for Luke. You broke his ribs doing chest compressions. But as hard as you fought, you had found no pulse.
You continued compressions until April gently grabbed your hand. You looked up at her, desperation in your eyes, but you knew he was gone.
You pronounced the time of death and exited the room, walking past the sobbing mother.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Dr. Rhodes asked, trying to stop you, but you made a mad dash to the bathroom where you could privately break down.
One of the biggest rules in being a doctor is to not break in front of your patient, and if you didn’t leave immediately, you would have.
You sobbed against the door of the bathroom stall, holding your belly in your arms.
After 5 minutes, you wiped your tears, splashed cold water on your face, and resumed your work day. You had other patients that were waiting on you.
Once your unbearable shift came to an end, you opened the door to you and Kelly’s apartment. You set your bag down on the bench next to you.
“Hey, beautiful.” Kelly greets you as he walks out of the bedroom.
“And hello, baby boy.” He greets your baby and places a hand on your belly.
“How was work today?”
That was all it took for you to break down. You looked into the eyes of the tall, brown haired man and tears immediately fell.
“Hey, hey.” He quickly pulls you into a hug, holding your head to his chest.
He guides you to the sofa where you sit next to him and explain what happened.
“He was only five years old, Kelly. His mom and his sister watched him die.”
He now understood where this was coming from.
When you were eight years old, your mom brought your brother to the hospital because he was complaining of dizziness. They held him for tests, but they couldn’t find anything.
Two days later, he was gone. You had relived it today.
He held you tighter.
“I miss him.” You confess, speaking of your brother. “He should’ve lived. He should be here.”
“I know, baby. But listen, I know he’s looking down on you. And I’m sure he’s so proud of you and the person you’ve become and the mother you’ll be.”
You lightly nod your head, wiping away a few tears.
“You want to get in the bath and relax for a little?” Kelly asks, knowing your love of baths and how they calm you.
“Can we just lay here?”
“Of course.” He says and pulls you into him.
You lay your head on his chest and he places a soft kiss on your head as he wraps his arms around you with one hand on your belly.
“I love you.” You say softly, appreciative for the man you are going to spend the rest of your life with.
“I love you more.”

____________________________________________________________
Your reminiscing was cut short by the call of your name.
Done with another shift at Firehouse 51, you were in the middle of walking off the apparatus floor and making your way towards the street when you heard Kelly’s voice.
Turning, you saw him jogging to catch up to you. Smiling at his effort, you curiously said, “What’s up?”, when he reached you.
Putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket, he casually shrugged before randomly asking,
“You hungry?
Surprised, you had to pause a moment as you decided on an answer to his unsaid offer. Not minding the idea of spending a little more time with Kelly, you replied with a casual shrug of your own.
“I could eat.”
Smiling, he said, “Great! I know just the spot.”
Reaching his hand out to you, he continued.
“Here, give me your bag. We’ll take my car.”
Loving the chivalry, you handed him your overnight bag and he led you both to where he had parked. The chivalry continued when he opened the door for you and you climbed in.
The ride to what turned out to be a diner was a short one, and before you knew it, you were sitting in a booth. After ordering your food, you both handed the waitress your menus before turning towards one another.
Kelly stared at you for a moment before looking down and chuckling to himself.
Immediately feeling self-conscious, you couldn’t help incredulously asking, “What??” while you wondered what was tickling him.
Still smiling, he simply said, “I can’t believe all I had to do was offer to feed you for you to go on a date with me.”
Feeling playful, you instantly got defensive.
“Uhhh, I don’t remember being asked out on a date. I remember being asked if I was hungry.”
Kelly couldn’t help giving a slight laugh at your statement as you continued.
“Just cause you offered to feed me, doesn’t mean this is a date.”
You finished as you took a sip of your water.
With a nod of his head, he easily conceded to your point. But after thinking on it for a moment, he decided to be a little truthful.
“Well, I wouldn’t have minded if this was a date.”
You froze at such a declaration as he locked his eyes with yours.
You remained immobile for another moment before quite seriously saying,
“Listen, Severide…”
You started, already trying to distance yourself from him.
“I meant it when I said you couldn’t handle me.”
Not one to dismiss your feelings, he put his arms on the table as he leaned in and genuinely asked,
“And why do you say that?”
But before you could answer, the waitress returned with your food and put plates down in front of you and Kelly.
“Y’all need anything else?”
You both said no while thanking her before turning back to one another.
Her interruption had given you a chance to think about what you were going to say. So when she left, you faced the Squad Lieutenant and cautiously replied to his question.
“Look, whether people know it or not, I wear my heart on my sleeve. I love deeply and I love hard. I can’t change that and I refuse to apologize for it.”
Looking off to the side, unwilling to meet his gaze, you admitted,
“I don’t do casual. I don’t do flings. I don’t even know how to. So when I say ‘You can’t handle me’, I’m just trying to save us both a lot of time and trouble.”
You glanced back up to Kelly after your little spiel and saw that his face was unreadable.
Now regretting your honesty, you began to stand up as you said,
“Maybe this was a bad idea. I’m just gonna call a car and we can pretend this never happened.”
But before you could fully exit the booth, Kelly quickly reached over to grab your hand and stopped you.
Looking back at him as he held your hand with that still unreadable expression on his face, you wondered what more possibly needed to be discussed.
Suffice to say, you were caught off guard when he quietly, but confidently said to you,
“None of that is a dealbreaker for me.”
In a state of disbelief, you slowly sat back down.
You both sort of stared at one another as you figured out what to say next.
You were only trying to fill the silence when you asked,
“So what now?”
Therefore, you weren’t really expecting any real kind of answer. However, the man sitting across from you was nothing if not full of surprises.
“Well, for starters, you could go back to calling me ‘Kelly’,” he said with a teasing smile.
And with your accompanying laugh at his attempt at humor, the atmosphere instantly went from serious to lighthearted again.
Your mood was so lifted that you couldn’t help teasing back.
“I don’t know,” you said shrugging, “‘Serveride’ has a nice ring to it.”
Kelly only pretended to roll his eyes before you both unanimously agreed to start eating.
As you took your first bite, you couldn’t help looking back up at him as he began to dig in.
A small smile made its way onto your lips as you allowed your guard to come down just enough to think with hope,
“Maybe, he will be different.”
And without further hesitation, continued to eat your food.

2. Take My Hand, Take My Whole Life Too
On days when work hits a little too close to home, Matt and Hale take their time reminding Kelly of what waits on the other side of that dark tunnel. This morning is no different. Amid colorful protests, Matt finally coaxes Kelly down the hall to their bedroom for a much-needed shower and sends Hale with him. Today, he’d said, taking Shay from Hale’s arms, he needs you. He left her with a kiss to the side of her head, nodding down the hall.
Hale enters the room quietly, finding Kelly standing at the foot of the bed. Silently, she waits for him to allow her closer, and waits for signs of that shared desire for intimacy. Once she has it, she steps closer, her eyes lock on his and she begins to peel his clothes from his body, layer by layer, taking her time. Hale lifts Kelly’s t-shirt by the hem, gesturing with her chin for him to raise his arms, and with some help, pulls the fabric over his head. Her deft fingers make quick work of Kelly’s belt, the button and the zipper on the front of his jeans, and slide the denim material down his thighs.
Kelly has never been shy about his body, his confidence―though borderline cocky most days―is one of the things Hale adores the most about him. A tiny smirk pulls at the corner of his mouth as he watches Hale’s eyes follow the path of her hands down his bare torso, a kaleidoscope of colors swirling together in her irises. He relishes his partner’s attention, relaxing in the familiarity of it; his own hands at home on Hale’s hips.
He dips his head, warm breath fanning over her lips. His eyes sparkle with mischief, Hale chases his mouth. It’s a game he’s played since the night of their first date; close enough to suffocate her with his presence, with the stifling need to have him, yet far enough to linger just beyond her reach. And Hale Shay falls for it again, falls for him again, every single time.
“Kiss me,” he whispers after the thrill of teasing her has fizzled out to a dull roar.
As another of their unspoken rules, he and Matt never show public displays of affection at work; as it is, they shouldn’t be stationed at the same house, and waiting for reassignment has meant keeping their relationship strictly professional while on duty. Likewise, when Hale visits, none of them ever breaches that boundary.
“Hale. Kiss me,” he says again in a tone he reserves for moments such as this, and Hale does.
She knows at work, Matt and Kelly back each other up no matter the situation, steal glances across the field, and settle for reassuring pats on the back that can’t be misconstrued as anything other than two colleagues in unwavering support of one another. But at home, unrestrained by rules and regulations, they melt into each other with ease and show Hale that same level of devotion and wanting.
Kelly’s grip on Hale’s hips tightens, and he pulls her impossibly closer, unwilling to leave even the slightest bit of space between them. And Hale wraps Kelly up in her embrace, squeezing her arms around his shoulders when he asks for it. The room, the world beyond, begins to fade and they are all that is left. He smells like work; turnouts, the rig, fire and the faint scent of cigar smoke.
Their jobs are not easy, sometimes what they do is brutal and unforgiving. And on the days when it reminds Kelly of all they have sacrificed, all they have lost, Hale or Matt is there to remind him of everything they still have to live for―each other and baby Shay.
Hale removes her pajama pants and Matt’s shirt that she slept in, her undergarments follow, and she leads Kelly by the hand to their bathroom. He leaves behind his boxer beliefs as he follows. The hot water running in the shower cloaks the room in steam and engulfs Kelly in a relaxing fog; here he lets his guard down, and here he allows Hale to carry the weight for him. Though he won't talk about what happened until much later, he lets her take care of him.
It’s Kelly’s turn to pull Hale by the hand, tugging her gently behind him as he enters the tub. He positions her under the spray of water from the rain showerhead, whatever misses her lightly pelts warm droplets on his skin. His green eyes hold a tender adoration, roaming the length of her from head to toe. She is all he has left of the woman who made him who he is today, and he doesn't know how but he wonders if it's possible that Shay had nudged them together all along. That she made sure the two most important people in her life would have each other if anything happened to her. No matter how it happened, he is grateful that it did.
The sun broke through the clouds, beaming down on Marquette Park where the 2011 annual Friends of Firemen Barbecue is underway. Kelly followed Andy through the park to the section 51 had claimed as their own; Andy’s boys, Griffin and Ben, ran ahead of them. He transferred the extra bottles of beer and cans of pop he agreed to bring from their cases to the coolers.
Checking his watch, he scanned the park for Shay; she had insisted on meeting him there, had said something about bringing someone with her, and promised to save him a seat. He knew Squad would pull him to whatever table they secured at some point and as their lieutenant, he would be hard-pressed to say no. But he just needed to see Shay first, to calm his nerves and make sure she was okay. He spotted her, finally, next to a young woman he couldn’t recall ever meeting before.
Approaching the table, he greeted Dawson and the members of Truck, smiling when Shay caught his eyes. He noted that the woman beside her bore a striking resemblance to his best friend, though he was certain now that he’d never seen her. She looked up from her conversation with Dawson when Shay rose to round the table and pulled him into a hug; her hair was slightly darker than Shay’s, her eyes were a brilliant shade of hazel unlike Shay’s green, and the smile she gave him was utterly breathtaking.
“What took you so long?” Shay said, poking him lightly in the chest.
“Had a stop to make,” he said, chuckling.
Shay raised an eyebrow in disbelief but said nothing else about it. Instead, she pulled him toward the head of the table, near the girl he had trouble taking his eyes off of since he spotted her. “Hale, Kelly Severide. Kelly, my sister, Hale.”
“Sister?” He balked, surprise evident in his tone. His eyes darted back and forth between them. “Hang on, I thought―”
“I have two sisters, Kelly. Some people do have more than one sibling, you know?”
“Right. Yeah. No, I know. You’ve just never mentioned her.”
“Happens a lot, actually. That’s because Megan’s the favorite sister,” Hale answered with a smile that made Kelly’s heart flutter.
“Megan meddles more,” Shay corrected.
“Sorry,” he said. “Nice to meet you.” He smiled, shaking her hand.
“Yeah, you too. Shay talks about you all the time.”
“Shay?” he repeated, bewildered. He couldn’t remember the last time he heard a civilian call Shay by her last name, even stranger is that it had come from her sister. The melody of laughter that spilled from Hale’s lips at the look on Kelly’s face punched through his stomach; she was beautiful in a way he couldn’t describe, and his brain refused to form the words.
Hale’s amusement sobered when her sister’s elbow found that space under her ribs. She glared playfully at her before returning her attention to Kelly. “I was a combat medic for almost 10 years, calling her Shay instead of Leslie just came naturally to me. I guess that’s one thing I haven’t quite figured out how to grasp about civilian life yet.”
“She was always just Hale to me,” Shay said, her face wreathed in a beaming smile. Kelly heard the pride in her voice and tucked it away.
“Thank you for your service. So, 10 years as a combat medic; what are you doing these days?”
“I’m actually not sure yet. Got back a few months ago, honorable discharge. The transition has been rough, and I haven’t found anything that satisfies my desire to help people.”
“You will.”
“Do not flirt with my sister, Severide,” Shay scolded, punching him in the shoulder.
Kelly pulls himself from his thoughts, opening his eyes to find Hale standing before him, waiting. He smiles and it’s soft and kind and exactly how he looked at her when they met, when she told him they were having a baby, when their baby was born, and when he knew he wanted to name her after Shay. Lifting a hand to the side of her face, he gently cradles her cheek, stroking the soft skin with the pad of his calloused thumb. He can’t help himself, he drinks in all she is and all he remembers her to be.
“Kel? Did I lose you?” Her voice is soft, soothing. “What are you thinking about?” She reaches up with her right hand, settling her palm against his temple, her thumb ghosts over his forehead, smoothing out the lines between his eyebrows. “Talk to me, hmm?”
Kelly leans his head into the warmth of Hale’s hand, he closes his eyes as her finger continues to stroke a soft path along his browline. He takes a breath in and on the satisfied exhale, he says, “No, baby, you didn’t lose me. I’m still here. I, uh, I was just remembering the day we met, at the barbecue.”
A sweet hum emanates from Hale’s lips and her forehead finds the strong, hard muscles of Kelly’s chest. His heartbeat tattoos itself against the softness of her cheek, his other hand still protectively around the other side of her face. Hale’s sudden shyness fills Kelly with a strange feeling that blooms warmly in the spot where his heart should be. He realizes, while holding her to him, that it’s love: pure, sweet, beautiful love. A feeling similar to the one he felt when she looked at him for the first time.
“Shay was so annoying that day,” she says, voice muffled in his pectoral. She places a kiss there and lays her cheek against his sternum. “She was always so weird about you, and I never understood why.”
“She loved you,” he replies, running his fingers through her hair and along the base of her skull. “She was protecting you. And me, I think.”
“Hmm...wish she wouldn’t.”
“Nah, don’t say that. You wouldn’t have liked me much back then; not how I wanted you to, not with the way I was. Shay knew what she was doing.”
“Right. So, my sister played the long game for you.”
“Hey, no! No! On my behalf.”
Hale giggles, wrapping her arms around his torso and squeezing playfully.
“I was...an asshole when I met you. She didn’t want me getting too close, she didn’t want you getting hurt. Shay knew who I really was then; she’s the reason I changed, became a better man.”
“You have always been a good man, Kelly Severide.” Hale presses another kiss to his sternum, and more after that across his chest. She shifts up onto her toes and presses their lips together. Her kiss is different this time; slower, softer, but filled with every ounce of love and passion that resides bone-deep within her. Kelly chases after the high her attention brings, Hale gives it to him willingly.
“I thought I found Shay on a call this morning,” Kelly says, pulling back and resting his forehead against hers. Hale frowns and then it clicks that he’s talking about their daughter. “A little boy and his mother were trapped in their apartment. I could hear him crying when Mills and I were searching for survivors. She had placed him in the bathtub when the commotion started, by the time she realized it was a fire and they needed to get out, she had already inhaled too much smoke and couldn’t make her way back for him. We got them out before the building came down, they’re both recovering at Med. Will says they’re going to be fine, better than. But I-I― I couldn’t get the image of you and Shay out of my head. I just...” His voice trails off and he takes a shuddering breath in, his throat is tight against the memories assaulting his mind, fear squeezes his heart in an iron grip.
Choking sobs fill the air, pinging off the tiles around them. Hale’s arms tighten around his torso, and she lets him cry. Between his memories of Shay and the call at work, his meter for emotional control is lower than Hale is used to seeing. Exhaustion weighs him down, she does her best to hold him up.
Hale rubs her fingertips through the hair on the back of his head, massaging his scalp as she does. The best way to help him relax is to tell him about what they’ve done in his absence. “Shay is okay, Kelly. She slept most of the time, on her own schedule. She’s been a little fussier than usual, I think she misses you and Matt. I know I do.
“Christian helped so much while you both were on shift, I want to do something nice for him to say thank you. This morning Shay woke up at 2 and has been vocal about her disdain for you being gone ever since. She is still just as strong and healthy as she was when you saw her two days ago, and I’m sure she’ll be even stronger than that any day now.”
Kelly nods his head where it lays on her shoulder, tucking his face into her neck, breathing her in. His body stops shaking as his tears subside; he can breathe again.
She turns her face to kiss under his jaw. She presses her left hand in the middle of his back, molding their bodies together, letting the curves of her chest, her waist, her thighs press into him. “I am still here, my love. I’m right here and I’m not going anywhere. You have me, Kel, as long as you want me.”
He snakes his arms around her lower back, pulling her flush to his chest. “Until the stars go out,” he says quietly.
“Until the sun dies,” she promises back.
They stay there under the water for what feels like an eternity, soaking in the safety of being in each other’s arms. Then Hale mutely persuades Kelly to let her ease the burden. With a little convincing in the form of a few more soft kisses placed along his jaw and his right shoulder, she turns them around and pushes him back under the water. She grabs the bar of Irish Spring soap and lathers it up along his body from his neck down, working her fingers into his tense muscles. The familiar scent of eucalyptus and mint alleviates his stress and lifts the haze of fog that had been clouding Kelly’s mind since he’d returned to the station. Next, she’s squirting a generous amount of shampoo into her hand and working it through his hair and scalp. And here in their bathroom with the mother of his little girl, the woman he fell in love with the moment he saw her, he finally finds peace.

She was my best friend - Stellaride
Tumblr media
Fandom: One Chicago
Pairing: Kelly Severide, Stella Kidd & Leslie Shay
A/N : Pure heartbreak 🥲 my all time favorite one shot I ever wrote.
•••
After Casey moved out of the apartment, Kelly and Stella’s relationship only kept progressing so they decided to start looking for a new place to move in, that would feel more homey and cozy rather than the big industrial loft that still held so many of their memories for the past few years.
With moving came a lot of packing which was the least exciting part of the whole process. As Kelly was out all morning buying some more storage boxes, Stella was left emptying a few last drawers before being completely done. She quickly came across a stack of CDs and one in particular stood out as it had the words ‘The Contract’ written on it. While usually not being one to snoop around, she frowned debating whether she should play it or not, ultimately deciding for it as curiosity took the best of her.
“Is it on? It’s on!” Kelly’s voice echoed through the room as he appeared on the big screen. “The contract, rule number one” a womanly voice could be heard immediatly followed by Kelly’s again “We promise to never get in each other’s business…Rule number two, no matter how much work gets to us we promise to never bring it home.” The camera turned around revealing Shay holding a bottle of tequila and a smile immediatly appeared on Stella’s face. She had never heared Shay’s voice and the only picture she saw of her was the one hanging on the wall at the firehouse, as Kelly did a great job at burying old memories that brought him so much pain. “We should also say that no matter how much life gets to us, we should never bring it to work. Because what we do is so much more important than all this.”
“Is that it? Any other rules?” Kelly could be heard asking as she passed the bottle of tequila to him.
“Just one! That we…we promise to be there for each other…always, no matter what.”
“Always”
Hearing someone clearing his voice behind her Stella jumped at the sight of Kelly standing in the doorway. He’d been there a while watching most of the CD play out.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t trying to snoop through your stuff” she tried excusing herself just to be interrupted by him. “It’s fine, don’t sweat it.” Kelly sat down on the floor next to her, letting a deep breath out and pulling a box out of the drawer filled with pictures.
“You never told me much about her…” Stella said unsure, waiting to see how he’ll react so she’d know whether to drop it or not.
"She was my best friend…the purest soul I ever met, the only person I could trust for the longest time. On her first day at 51, my roommate had just moved out and she said she was looking for a new place to stay…so she moved in with me. We just clicked, like I never clicked with anyone before then…I can’t even explain it. We used to get on each other’s nerves sometimes but at the end of the day we only wanted the best for each other…we never fully respected this contract. When I injured my shoulder once on a call, she’d give me painkillers…took them from ambo and used to blame it on junkies stealing them during inventories. She’d went through so much trouble just because I was hiding an injury that would bench me for a few months…and I was so selfish because never once did I think about the possibility of her losing her job for what she was doing for me. At some point I wasn’t far from being addicted to them…I went cold turkey and in a matter of weeks I was clean…but just because she was there for me and never let me lose my focus. Then her ex showed up pregnant out of the blue, saying she still had feelings for her…which didn’t turn out too good but after that Shay kept saying she wanted a baby so bad and I thought it was some weird phase she was going through, but next thing I know we were at a fertility clinic talking about IVF and all these other procedures, but that fell through too…and that’s one of my biggest regrets, because now I’d still have a part of her here with me. Each time we fought it was because she wanted the very best for me and I didn’t want to listen and she kept pushing…man she was so stubborn. One time there was this bombing at Med, casualties everywhere and she stumbled, impaling herself in some kind of metal sticking out of the debris…she was losing so much blood but she patched herself up and kept working until she passed out…we barely kept her in bed, she wanted to go right back into the action. The days before her death we fought and we made up right before she went in that building…the building I carried her out of. Each morning after that I was waking up going to her room and hoping she’d be there…nagging me about eating her yogurt. You don’t realize how many useless fights you have with someone until they’re gone…you don’t appreciate them enough until they’re not there anymore one day. After her death I dissappeared for a while…I couldn’t go back home or to work, the thought of her was too painful and apparently it still is after all these years. When she died, I know a part of me went with her…something inside of me shifted and I wasn’t the same after that day. I wish you would’ve met her though…she would’ve loved you to the point where she would’ve tried to steal you from me.“ The two shared a laugh as Kelly’s voice slowly became more and more shaky and Stella gave his hand a comforting squeeze.
"I wish I’d met her too…I know we would’ve easily hit it off. ” Stella said looking at the pictures in front of her. “I’m sure if she was still here, she would be so proud of who you’ve become.”
“She would’ve kicked my ass so bad, each time the two of us had an argument…or each time I remotely made you upset.” He said as a small smile crept on his face at the thought of Shay scolding him when it came to relationships.
“Do you believe in soulmates Kelly?” Stella asked reciving a confused look from him in return “Because I think she was yours.”
“Then what are you?” He asked turning himself around to face Stella. “Hmm, I don’t know…but soulmates don’t have to be lovers, a soulmate is someone who gets you and connects to you on a level you can’t explain, it’s someone who inspires you to be a better person, someone you can carry with you forever and no matter what happens the love you have for them never dissappears…it’s you and Shay.”
Kelly thought after all these years he’d be able to say more than a few words about her without tears immediately appearing in his eyes, but oh boy he was so wrong. Shay will forever live on in his heart and he promised himself he’d never let her memory be forgotten.

Anesthesia
Characters: Kelly Severide x Reader, Matt Casey, Crockett Marcel
Warnings: Mentions of surgery.
Summary: It's incredible was anesthesia can do to a person.
A/N: Very much mixed feelings but it's also kinda cute, idk. Really short compared to what I normally do but oh well.
*****
"Everything ran smoothly, not a single complication. I'm proud to say your stitches are some of my best and with this kind man at your bedside, you'll be back to firefighting in no time." Crockett said with a smile once he checked all your vitals.
You hummed happily, a sleepy smile on your face as you mentally thanked the man, forgetting he couldn't hear your thoughts. "Your a really good surgeon Crockett."
"I try my best." The surgeon laughed, taking your compliment in his stride. "Rest up alright? I'll be back later to check on you."
Wiggling your fingers, you sighed as the surgeon left the room and looked up at your man in interest, only now remembering his existence when you felt his fingers combing through your hair. "Oh! Husband you're here!"
"Always will be." Kelly chuckled, finding it too amusing how loopy you were after your surgery. He'd definitely remember every single second and make sure it came in handy in the future. "How you feeling?"
"Like a billion dollars." You said with a cheesy smile, enjoying the comfort he was bringing you. "I have a question for you though."
"Ask ahead baby." Kelly said, entertaining you.
"I'm not a baby." You scoffed, looking at him disapprovingly. "What happened to our baby though, y'know the reason why my stomach was so fat." You said, poking your completely flat stomach in pure wonder.
"I did give birth right?" You asked, confirming that your fears weren't true. "There was no surgery for taking our baby, they can't cut into my womb, the wombs mine-"
"Y/N, who do you think is sitting in the chair opposite mine." Kelly rose a brow, stopping you mid ramble before you could get yourself riled up for no reason.
Confused, you huffed but listened and turned your head to your left and what do you know, there sitting was none other than your husbands best friend with your six month old playing with his fingers on his lap.
"You have a baby?" You asked, your eyebrows shooting all the way up. "Since when was Sylvie pregnant?!"
Struggling but somehow managing to keep in his laugh, Kelly mocked glared at Matt who snickered. "That's our baby. The baby we made and was just talking about."
"My baby!" You said with the biggest smile. "I missed you baby boy."
Your son sent you a gummy smile, easily recognising your voice. He made random but very cute gurgling sounds mixed in with his giggles which made you smile even more.
"Don't you dare hurt my baby boy Matthew Casey." You said threateningly, glaring at your friend with squinted eyes. "I know where you live, where you work, sleep, and eat."
"We do a lot of those things together Y/N." Matt said, reminding you that you worked in the same firehouse as you and he was also your roommate at the loft.
You hummed nonchalantly, waving him off. "I'll still come for you Matthew."
"Copy that." Matt smiled, eyeing the time on his watch. "I gotta go, shift starts in ten and I need to drop off this little man with your sitter."
"Thanks man." Kelly said, helping gather up your son's nappy bag. "Be good alright? Don't be trouble." Kelly looked at your son seriously, giving him a quick kiss before they left.
"Aw, I miss them already." You pouted, looking at your husband longingly opening your arms wide open. "Come cuddle me please. I miss you too."
"I've always been here Y/N, and I'm not leaving any time soon." Kelly chuckled, sitting on the bed besides your legs. "I've taken time off to nurse you back to full health, remember?"
You hummed, not fully paying attention, simply gazing adoringly at your husbands incredibly handsome face. At the lack of an answer, Kelly laughed, brushing your hair back from your face so he could see your properly.
"Alright, budge up." Kelly gave in, watching you cautiously in case you hurt yourself as you moved.
"Your a firefighter, shouldn't you be able to fit into small spaces?" You asked very seriously but made room for him anyways. You wanted a proper answer but all your got was a small shake of his head and a hearty laugh from your man.
Settling against him, you rested your head against his chest, finding extreme comfort in the steady beats of his heart. His warmth enveloped you the second he gently wrapped his arms around you.
Pressing a kiss into your hair, Kelly listened to you hum contently as you relaxed in his embrace. Even on drugs, you always felt as though you were home with Kelly.
"Love you." You mumbled into his chest, your eyelids fluttering shut, completely wiped out despite barely moving and doing anything.
"Love you too." Kelly replied, watching you doze off and the only thing he could hear was the beeps of the monitors telling him you were alive and your barely audible snores.

Ignited Desires 18+
Request: Ahhhh why do we love him so much !!! You totally fixed me on again with Kelly 😭🔥Now I also wanna send in an idea haha even though my birthday was just last week, you might still wanna get me a late present someday (oh I hope that doesn't sound rude) ILY 💗
My mind maybe thought of something where they are best friends and really close. During one shift you take a nap and get some really sexy dream of you and Kelly and then the alarm goes off, startling you completely. You can't process what your mind just did to you and seeing Kelly then makes you really nervous so you try to avoid him, which confuses him as well. You start overthinking your feelings towards the Lieutenant and you realize you might have feelings for him, more than friendship, which you discuss with Gabby private, but Kelly overhears you and is happy to hear that his feelings get returned, so he does something about it to make you his girl ?
Hope that's not too weird 🫣
Pairings: Kelly Severide x Firefighter!Reader
Warnings: fluff, swearing, smut
Masterlist
A/N: Happy birthday or belated birthday to the anon that sent this in!
Tumblr media
Finally, a break in the calls which meant that you could finally catch up on some sleep and you couldn’t wait. You have been on shift for a total of 24 hours now and there have been constant non-stop calls. You worked on Rescue Squad 3 with your best friend Kelly Severide and you loved it, you were the only female to work on Rescue Squad 3 and you were proud of yourself and Kelly was too. You two had been childhood friends who had lost contact and then reconnected when you made it to the fire academy and you both ended up graduating together and getting into the same house.
Recently you had been having more than friend’s feelings for a certain squad member, just seeing him in his work uniform and in action just does something to you. You had just gotten back from a call and jumped out of the truck with ease. You stretched your back and sighed in relief when it popped into place just about the time Kelly came around and smiled. “That sounded like a good one.” He said and you smiled and nodded.
“Indeed, it was.” You said and then returned back to normal and started taking your gear off and heading into the kitchen to grab a drink with Kelly following you. “I don’t know about you but I’m going to go and catch up on some much-needed sleep.” You said and he smiled.
“I don’t blame you. Have a nice nap.” He said and you smiled at him and moved past him and into the bunks. You claimed one and put your drink beside your bed and laid down, your eyes were quick to close and before you knew it you were asleep and in a dream.
You had just walked into your and Kelly’s apartment after getting off shift and found him shirtless in the kitchen by the stove. He turned around and smiled. “Hello there my gorgeous wife.” He said and you were a little bit confused but you weren’t going to bring it up.
“Hello my handsome husband. What do you have cooking up?” You asked walking over to him and peeking down into the pout as you hugged him and he turned the stove off.
“Your favorite but I think I want my favorite right now.” He said and before you could reply he kissed you hard. He turned you until you were facing him and he hugged you tightly. Kelly tapped your thighs and you jumped up and he sat you on the very empty counter still kissing you. He moved to your neck and started nipping at your skin and you let out a moan. You threw your head back and grabbed his head burying it further into your neck.
“Kelly.” You moaned out. He smirked and then he was breaking his attack on your neck and taking your shirt and bra off leaving you exposed to the air and him. He was immediately on your right breast taking your nipple into his mouth and giving it the attention it needed and then his other hand was trailing up your thigh and to where you needed him the most. “Kelly, I need you.” You said and popped off your nipple and looked at you.
“You have me.” He said and then attached to your left nipple giving it the same attention that he gave you right nipple as he held himself up and his hand got to your heated core and cupped it. You let out a pornographic moan and he smiled and popped off your other nipple. “That’s the sound I like to hear.” He said as he was quick to get rid of your jeans and underwear leaving you naked on the counter the coolness helped cool down your heated skin. He gently pushed you down until you were lying flat on your back and he kissed down your sternum and down to where you needed him the most. He licked a broad stripe up your folds that had you moaning.
“Right there.” You said as he ate you out like there was no tomorrow. He took your clit into his mouth and sucked on it hard and then he was circling your entrance with his tongue, your hands spread out over the counter with nothing to grip onto. You were a moaning mess. Your body was heating up and there was a light layer of sweat on your skin. What brought you closer to the edge was when he brought his hand to your core and entered a long digit into your awaiting entrance and then he curled his finger and he hit your g-spot. “Kelly I’m close.” You moaned out and you could feel him smirk.
“Cum for me, Baby.” He said and that is exactly what you did. He slurped up your juices when you came down from your high, he was standing up. You looked up at him and his chin was glistening with all the juices that had come out. He was quick to get rid of his pants and you couldn’t help that he was hard as a rock and that had you drooling. “It’s all for you, Baby.” He said and then he was rubbing his erection up and down your slick folds and then pushing into your entrance and you both were moaning out in pleasure. “You’re so tight for me even after I loosened you up.” He moaned out and then he started thrusting into you at a slow pace. No matter how many times you had sex with him he always stretched you in all the right places.
“You’re so big. Stretching me in all the right places.” You said “Move faster.” You moaned out and he complied and he started thrusting faster. He was caging you in as you laid there on the counter, your legs wrapped around him making him thrust into your further. You loved it. You were close to a second orgasm. “I’m close.” You moaned out and then he started to slow down and you looked up at him and he was smirking, he was teasing you. You groaned but he gave a sharp thrust that had you moaning again. You don’t know how much time had passed but he sped up again.
“I’m almost there, Baby.” He said and then his thrusts started to get sloppy. “I’m cumming.” He moaned out and he thrust hard into you and stilled inside you, painting your walls white and that had you cumming too.
“I’m cumming too.” You moaned out and came hard with him. You both came down from your highs and then a loud bell sounded and then everything disappeared.
You jerked awake and looked around and then you heard the bell and was quick to jump up and rush out to the trucks. You didn’t have time to look at yourself in the mirror but you felt flushed. You pushed into the bay just as Kelly appeared in front of you and you froze. “You, ok? You looked flushed.” He said and you nodded.
“Yea, I’m good.” You said and got ready and onto the Rescue Squad 3 truck and sat away from him, normally you would’ve sat next to him but you couldn’t with that dream still stuck in your head so you sat next to Cruz. He looked at you weirdly but one look in his eye had you looking away and down. On the way to the call, you were still thinking about the dream and why your mind had you dream that. Sure, you were catching feelings for him but that was an intense dream and you were married to him.
The call was quick and you successfully got the person out and sent them on their way to the hospital and now it was time to head back to the firehouse. Again, you opted to sit next to Cruz and you talked to him and the others but Kelly didn’t talk. He was trying to figure out what he had done wrong in the short amount of time when you left to have a nap back at the firehouse. When you arrived back you were out of the truck before it even stopped. Kelly watched you run off and take your gear off. Something was stirring inside of him to figure out what was going on and he was going to figure it out. He walked over to you and when you heard the sound of his boots approaching you looked up and froze. “Oh. Hey, Kelly.” You said and he noticed that you almost sounded nervous.
“Hey, Y/N. What’s up?” He asked and you looked at him.
“Nothing. Nothing is up. Why would you think something is up?” You asked rushing to get your words out, another sign of you being nervous and he looked at you.
“Did I do something wrong?” He asked and you looked at him.
“No….” You trailed off and looked for an escape route and that broke his heart. What made you so scared of him in a short period of time? You then saw the girls and were quick to yell out to them and rush over to them. Then you were heading off with them leaving a confused and heartbroken Kelly Severide behind.
——————————————————————
Kelly was still as confused as ever. He tried to think back to what he could've done to make you so nervous of him and he couldn't come up with anything. Not knowing made him want to hunt you down and figuring it out and that's what he intended on doing just that.
It had been 5 hours since he had seen you and it was slowly agitating him. He made his, what seemed like, 600th trip around the firehouse looking for you until he heard your voice along with Gabby’s voice in the kitchen, he swears that you weren’t there before. “What is up with you avoiding Kelly?” She asked and that made him stop.
“Nothing. What makes you think that I’m avoiding him?” You asked with a nervous laugh.
“I’ve seen him looking for you and whenever you’re around him you walk out of the room. What is going on? What did he do?” She asked.
“He didn’t do anything. Dream Kelly did.” You said and that took him by surprise.
“Dream Kelly?” She asked and you nodded.
“Yes, Dream Kelly.” You said
“Tell me what happened.” Gabby said, sounding a little too excited. People passed by Kelly but they just kept going on figuring he was just taking a break.
“Ok, so it started out with me coming home and he was shirtless by the stove. I was married to him and it felt wonderful, it felt right. Well then, I asked him what he was cooking and he said it was my favorite and then he said that he wanted his favorite right then and there. He kissed me, hard, then he had me jump up and he laid me on the counter and we had full blown sex. He made me cum twice.” You said
“Oh, that sounds like you enjoyed this dream.” She said and you nodded.
“Oh, yea I did. It just made me realize that I’m in love with him but afraid to admit it because it would ruin our friendship.” You said and that made Kelly smile, you felt the same way and he was going to do something about it. Just then the bell rang signaling Ambulance 61 and Gabby was rushing off. He made himself busy to make it look like he wasn’t eavesdropping. Once he knew that they were gone he walked into the kitchen. “Oh, hey Kelly.” You said looking at him and he just stood there “Everything ok?” You asked and he nodded.
“Everything is good.” He said and then strolled over to you, he grabbed your face gently and smashed his lips against yours making you grip his arms for support. When he kissed you sparks flew and the breath was knocked out of you, in a good way, you only broke apart when air was desperately needed and he looked at you. Your face was flushed and lips swollen and pupils blown, Kelly was the exact same way.
“That was…. amazing.” You said breathlessly, he still had your face in his hands.
“I heard what you said when you were talking to Gabby and I feel the same way.” He said and you looked up at him and kissed him again. When you heard noise coming towards the kitchen you broke apart and he grabbed your hand letting go of your face and let him lead you to his quarters. He opened the door and made sure the blinds were shut before turning to you and gently putting you back onto his desk and you moaned at the dominance.
“Kels?” You asked as he was locking the door and making his way over to you where he kissed you hard once again and then licked your bottom lip which you gladly opened and his tongue dominated over yours quickly. As you two were kissing, the only time you broke apart was when he got rid of both of your shirts, he was quickly getting rid of your clothing and his clothing all at once until you both were left in nothing but your undergarments. Shoes and socks discarded long before the stripping started.
Kelly broke the kiss and started to attack your neck with kisses, gentle bites and sucking, you were definitely going to have hickeys but you’ll deal with that later. His hands went to your back and expertly got your bra off and threw in the ever-growing pile of clothing he messaged each breast and you moaned leaning your head to the side giving him more access to your neck. Your hands went to his stomach and slowly trailed them down to his underwear and pushed them down and watched his erection come up and slap him in the stomach. Your hand went to it, started to pump it and you felt it twitch in your hand and he moaned into your neck. “Feels so good, don’t stop.” He moaned into your neck and then you got off the desk and down on your knees and looked him in the eye as you took him into your mouth and he moaned. He put one hand on your head not pushing or anything and the other went to his desk for stabilization. His head was thrown back in pleasure and he was moaning which just made you wetter than what you were before. You hollowed your cheeks and took him further into your mouth and felt him at the back of your throat you bobbed your head up and down and that had him moaning. You pulled back until it was just the tip and you swirled your tongue around the tip, you sucked him and then kitten licked him. He looked down at you as he backed up and you released him with a pop and saliva was connecting you and him. You raised an eyebrow. “As much as I want to come inside your mouth, I want to cum inside that sweet pussy of yours.” He said and you cleaned around nothing and moaned. He helped you stand up and then helped you lay back on his desk once again. He got down on his knees and pulled your underwear down and off of your legs and tossed them into the pile of clothing.
Kelly just stared at your wetness and smirked knowing that he was the one to have done that to you. Just as you were getting ready to say something he was diving in. He started off by licking a broad stripe up your slickened folds and up to your clit where he swirled his tongue around it and bit it gently, causing you to moan. “Kelly, don’t stop.” You said and brought your hands up to your breasts and massaged them as he was holding your legs down since you were trying to buck up into his mouth. He circled your entrance with is tongue and gently slipped in slowly tongue fucking you and it was like heaven. “Kel!” You moaned out when he licked his way back up to your clit and gently bit it, you were so close to cumming. He pulled away for a brief second.
“Shhhh.” He said and you looked down at him. “Gotta be quiet.” He said and you nodded and then dove back in and this time your hands went to his head. You were close but you wanted to cum on his cock and so you were shoving his head back and he looked back at you with a questioning look.
“I wanna cum on your cock.” You said and he smirked and nodded and got up. You were exactly at the right level for him. He positioned himself at your entrance and pushed in and you both moaned out. He bottomed out and he fell on top of you but his weight went to his arms holding him up and not crushing you. Thankfully his desk was pretty empty at the time or everything that would have been on it would be on the ground by now. “Move.” You moaned out and he nodded and started to thrust into you at a slow even pace. Your nails dug into his shoulders, sure to leave indents of your nails into his shoulders, his head was thrown back in pleasure. You pulled him closer to you and that made him grab you by the shoulders and ended up holding you, which meant that he was thrusting deeper into you making you moan into his shoulder. “Faster, Baby. Faster.” You moaned and he started to go faster he then started to kiss you swallowing your moans and then he was pulling away from you.
“Damn, you’re so tight. Squeezing me.” He moaned out. The only sound in the room was heavy panting and skin slapping skin.
“Kel, I’m close.” You said and he nodded and looked at you.
“Me too.” He said and then one of his hands was tailing down to your clit and rubbing it while pinching it, helping you further get your orgasm. “Fuck, you feel so good.” He said.
“So big. So good.” You said blissed out in pleasure. His thrusts started to get more sporadic and his breathing was getting faster and so was yours. “I’m cumming.” You moaned out when he landed a sharp thrust and the combination of him pinching your clit had you cumming.
“Me too, Baby.” He said and then he stilled inside of you and he painted your walls white with his spunk. As you both came down from both of your highs, he slowly pulled out of you and watched as his cum spilled out of you. You sat up on your elbows.
“I’m sorry for avoiding you.” You said as you stood up and started to separate your clothing so you both could get dressed.
“It’s ok. It hurt but now I know the reason. I’m fine with it.” He said as he put on his underwear and you put yours on and then you found your bra and slipped it over your shoulders and he helped you fasten it behind you.
“So, what does that make us now? We’ve skipped several steps.” You said with a chuckle and he chuckled back as he latched the last hook and then found your pants and handed them to you as he found his. You both put them on simultaneously.
“I was hoping you would be my girlfriend.” He said as he buckled his belt and you did the same. You paid and looked at him and smiled as he found his shirt and threw it on and tucked it in. He picked yours up and handed it to you.
“I would love that. As long as you will be my boyfriend.” You said slipping your shirt on and tucking it in.
“I would love that.” He said and then he was taking you in his arms and kissing you. The kiss was starting to get heated again when the bells went off signaling for Rescue Squad 3 and you both groaned and pulled away looking at each other smiling. You both were quick to get your socks and shoes on and out the door. You both got to the bay and got your gear on and then hopped into the truck. You sat next to him, your usual spot and he looked over you just as you did too, he smiled at you and you smiled back.
You had to thank that nap you took because if it weren’t for that nap and that dream you wouldn't be with the love of your life. You were very thankful for that nap.

YUNGBLUD WRITING CHALLENGE MASTERLIST
-------------------------
Sometimes I wondered if what Kelly and I were doing was stupid.
In the moment, I never did. When he showed up on my doorstep and kissed me, it was like my mind completely shut off. Instinctual, almost primal. I would focus on nothing but him. Granted, that was the point of our arrangement.
When I woke up, I would find myself questioning the point. If it was healthy. If it was going to end suddenly. If we were ever going to become something more than whatever we were.
And then, I'd roll over.
Kelly would still be asleep next to me. The sun from the window over my bed was just washing over him. It almost made him look angelic. He would seem so... soft. Like we had just laid next to each all night. It was all so different from the night before.
I would remember that I didn't care. Not truly.
Having him here, having him in any way that I could was more important than anything else. If that was reserved for the moments where he was shoving me against the wall or pushing me into my room, then I was okay with that.
I could still picture the first night that we spent together.
We had gone to Molly's with everyone else. Kelly and I had found ourselves tucked away in the corner. We had both been through recent break-ups and were rambling about our shared experiences. Ranting about pet peeves or how the relationship ended or how it felt like our exes were acting so soon after the breakup.
I had finished rambling before I said that I was swearing off dating for a while.
That seemed to flip some kind of switch in Kelly's mind.
"Swearing off dating," he repeated, leaning forward on the table a bit. "Sounds a bit lonely."
"I've got the firehouse; got you guys," I chuckled, trying to pretend like I hadn't noticed his movement.
"Well, that's only going to help so much, isn't it," he asked. One of his hands landed on my thigh, squeezing it a bit.
I felt my grin falter for a moment. Not because I didn't like the idea of this, just because I could feel my mind starting to get overwhelmed at the idea. Like waves slowly getting bigger and hitting me.
"More than one kind of lonely."
I saw the smirk tugging at his lips. My eyes jumped from his eyes to his lips a few more times before I mimicked his movement, leaning closer to him. He squeezed my thigh again.
"Y'know, I am so tired from our last shift," I muttered, very clearly lying. "Mind giving me a lift home?"
"Well, I'm nothing if not a gentleman," he replied before going to stand up. "Let me cover the tab and we'll head out."
I nodded.
The rest of the night felt like a blur. Like it was stuck in fast-forward. A flash of images that were just... a lot.
The most vivid memory I have of that time was the next morning. I had woken up to Kelly shifting on the bed. He was pulling on his shirt when I stretched and groaned. He turned to face me, a grin forming when he looked at me.
"Hope I helped with a bit of that loneliness," he said.
I chuckled, pulling myself into a sitting position. "Yeah, definitely helped."
Kelly stretched over, kissing my lips again. I hummed into the kiss, trying to move closer to him.
He leaned back. "Let's... Let's keep this between us. Alright?"
I nodded. "As long as this little... meeting isn't a one-time thing."
"Don't think I could handle that," he muttered, kissing me again.
It was a nice memory. A nice memory that kickstarted something that was not truly healthy.
We were each other's distractions. We didn't have to focus on anything else when we were with each other. No explanations, no problems, no one else to talk to. It was just the two of us being caught up in each other.
I was lost in thought when Kelly shifted next to me. He blinked a few times before looking at me properly.
"Good morning," he muttered.
"Morning," I grinned at him.
"Hope you haven't been up for too long."
"Not at all."
He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. I slowly kissed him back, letting my mind go foggy as I did. He shifted until he was holding his body over me, moaning into the kiss. I chuckled, reaching up to touch his sides.
Any questions I had earlier were gone now.
I didn't care about what could happen next or when all of this could suddenly end.
Because I had him for now.
And that's all that mattered to me.

Day 18 of the Advent Writing Challenge!
She had been dropping off gifts at the firehouse, when Claire called because both her and Kelly had to work this Christmas so after her shift on the holiday, so all Sarah had to do was drive over from the hospital in Kelly’s car. Her brother was insisting she use it for the day. But Claire had wanted to see if Sarah wanted to go last minute Christmas shopping with her and since her and Connor were trying to give this whole soulmates thing a chance, Sarah said yes in an effort to get to know the other woman.
“What’s wrong with her car?” Kelly wondered as Claire pulled up to the apron. Sarah heard the banging coming from the vehicle too, but she hadn’t seen Connor’s sister since that dinner a few months back. So she shrugged at her brother’s question.
“Hi,” Claire smiled at Sarah.
“What’s wrong with your car?” Kelly asked in that snappish way that had a way of putting people off before Sarah could so much as return the greeting. Giving Claire a tight smile, the curly haired brunette pinched her brother’s arm before making introductions.
“Hi Claire. Sorry, about him. This is Kelly by the way. My older brother who doesn’t know how to at least say hello before being rude to another person.”
“I’m asking because I don’t want you be in an accident or to break down in the middle of downtown traffic.” Kelly rolled his eyes at his sister.
“Oh,” Claire glanced down at her vehicle as she shrugged. “I’m not sure? The check engine light has been on since Wednesday? But every auto mechanic I call is booked and can’t take another car.”
“Can you pop the hood?” Kelly asked Claire as he went to get the set of tools from the squad truck, before calling for Andy.
“He’s a car guy.” Sarah explained to her soulmate’s sister. Then pointing out the blue vintage mustang, “Rebuilt and restored that car and the engine inside of it.”
“So what are you doing for Christmas?” Sarah posed the question as Kelly and Andy worked, “I asked Connor but he wasn’t sure about your plans.”
“Oh, well since he has to work that day, I figure we’ll just have some take-out and exchange gifts because Dad will be in New York.”
“You could come to the firehouse,” Kelly called from where he was buried in the engine. Sarah nodded, “He’s right. I have to work Christmas too. But so do they. So we all celebrate up here. With their families and everything. We’ll have Christmas dinner and usually we have leftovers every year we do this, so they’ll be more than enough to go around.”
“Okay. So I think this might be more out of my expertise than I originally thought. But I have a friend, he’s an auto-mechanic with his own shop. I’ll call him. Have your car towed and he’ll do the work at cost. In the meantime, you and Sarah can take my car so you can still shop.”
“Oh you don’t have-” Claire started to tell Kelly. But her brother just pointed a wrench at the other woman. “Your brother is her soulmate is he not?”
“Well yeah, but I don’t see-”
“So that makes us family and since we’re family, we don’t turn our backs on each other. And that means not letting my little sister and sister-in-law ride around in a potentially dangerous car.”
“He’s a good brother most of the time,” Sarah said when Claire glanced at her, “Even when he’s being overprotective.”

You are not alone, you have a family
Tumblr media
Imagine : Liv is an immigrant from Poland who manages to get a well-deserved place in Firehouse 51. She lands under the command of Kelly Severide with whom she befriends. However, what happens when tragedy strikes in her life.
Paring : Kelly Severide & Olivia Mazru
Words : 858
Part 2/2
Tumblr media
Boden stared at his hands while standing by his car and waiting for the rest of Firehouse 51's shift. The chief made a request to headquarters to exclude their crew from the calls, and fortunately headquarters agreed without hesitation. The guys had been grooming their cars and grooming themselves since early in the morning.
- Do you have any news from Liv ? - Boden approached Severide.
- Since leaving the day she found out about her parents' death, she hasn't answered my calls or opened the door when I went to see her. I have no idea what's going on with her, today I will see her for the first time.
The entire Firehouse 51 shift lined up along the road to the place designated to bury her parents. They wanted to say goodbye to them with honor; most of the team knew her parents. On more than one occasion they had been invited to a barbecue at their home, it was a tragedy for all of them but none of them could fathom the tragedy Olivia was experiencing. They wanted to support her but for the time being she didn't let them, she had cut herself off from everyone.
Kelly stared at his hands until he heard cars approaching.
- Attention,- Boden called back loudly and confidently.
Everyone lined up in an even row, all gazing ahead.
- Pay tribute to the fallen - Boden raised his hand saluting the fallen.
At the same time in the car.
Liv clenched her hands into fists, feeling that she was left alone. She was afraid to look at the coffins as they were loaded into cars. She had no idea what she would do with herself now and what her life would be like. She had support in her parents and it was because of them that she had a better life. It wasn't fair that they ended up like this, this wasn't how their lives were supposed to turn out. They were supposed to die of old age surrounded by grandchildren they would love with all their hearts.
She raised her eyes the moment she heard Boden's shout. The driver slowed down entering the cemetery area, Liv lowered the window and stared at the guys standing at attention. Each of them was dressed in a gala uniform and raised his hand in tribute to her parents. Tears flowed from her eyes again, these people were now her family. Liv got out of the car as soon as the driver parked the car.
Kelly shifted his gaze to Liv the moment she got out of the car, she was pale as a wall and her eyes were puffy. A sign that she was still crying, he could not approach her until Boden called them away.
Kelly objął ją ramionami i ukrył w piersi. Liv objęła go w pasie i głęboko odetchnęła. Jego zapach zawsze ją uspokajał. Stali, dopóki tylko ich dwoje nie zostało pozostawionych przy świeżych grobach jej rodziców. Kelly pocałowała ją we włosy.
Przygryzła dolną wargę i wzięła oddech.
- Spróbujmy - Liv uśmiechnęła się niepewnie - Potrzebuję czasu, żeby się objąć. - Dam ci tyle czasu ile potrzebujesz.
Może jednak przydarzyło jej się coś dobrego w tym złym czasie.

____________________________________________________________
After getting a clean bill of health from the doctors at Med, you were cleared to continue working. Soon, a few weeks had passed since your unpleasant altercation.
You were glad to say that you had gained some obvious respect from your new co-workers. After getting hit by someone twice your size and walking it off like the champ you are, you could say they were a little impressed. While you were exceptionally happy to feel yourself becoming a part of the family known as Firehouse 51, you were secretly only interested in one particular Firehouse 51 member’s feelings towards you.
You and Kelly had become…friendly to say the least.
In a way that you hadn’t realized, the Squad Lieutenant had slowly embedded himself into your life without even trying. After keeping his promise to see you all those weeks ago by showing up at the hospital still in his turnout gear, Kelly offered to take you home when the doctors at Med finished monitoring you. With your car still at the firehouse, you gratefully accepted.
But as Kelly walked you to your front door, you noticed him become more hesitant the closer you got to your home.
When you finally reached it, you had to ask.
“What’s wrong?”
He still looked hesitant as he answered you a moment later.
“I’m…just not sure if I can leave in all good conscience.”
Confused, you furrowed your brow and asked what he meant.
“Well, they said you might have a concussion, right?”
Your confusion deepened as you couldn't see how that possibly affected Kelly, but answered him anyway.
“I mean, they said there was a chance, but it wasn’t a big one.”
In a way that only looked good because he did it, Kelly’s face transformed from hesitant into teasing within the blink of an eye as he got to his point.
“Well if there’s a chance, then you shouldn’t fall asleep,”
With a shrug of his shoulders, he casually finished his statement,
“I’ll keep you awake.”
You had to tell yourself to ignore him, his words, and the way he said them for a moment since imagining him saying those words to you in a very different context sent a very pleasant shiver up your spine.
But because you were ninety-percent sure he didn’t mean it that way (and not a percent more), you crossed your arms over your chest to cover your minuscule tremble before you said,
“Excuse me?” With a touch of incredulity.
Almost as if he read your mind and found your thoughts amusing, Kelly let out a small laugh before his hand went up to scratch the back of his head. A sign you’ve come to learn that means he’s nervous. You couldn't help but notice a small blush crawling up his neck before he went about trying to clarify his words.
“I just mean, I’d hate to leave you here knowing that if you fell asleep with a concussion, you could slip into a coma just because no one was here,”
A little sheepishly, he added,
“So, I can keep you company if you’d like.” he finished with a boyish smile.
The first thing you wanted to do was melt at how adorable Kelly looked when he was unsure of himself. The man ran into burning buildings for a living, but talking to you is what seemed to make him nervous.
You wanted to let out such a girly giggle, it wasn’t even funny.
But because your guard was still up, what happened was you narrowed your eyes for a moment before visibly eyeing Kelly up and down. He looked amused at the look of suspicion in your eyes when you finally made eye contact again.
“And if I said I plan to do nothing but sit on my couch and watch TV?”
There wasn’t a moment's hesitation before he replied,
“I’d say that being in your presence is more than enough for me.”
“Dammit.” You remembered thinking, “He’s good.”
So you decided to give him a chance.
You figured your logical side would appreciate that you’d either be proven right that this might be a bad idea,... or wrong, that it was a great one. Either way, you’d have your answer before the evening was over, so you had nothing to lose.
In what’s probably the first time in your life, you were happy to be proven wrong.
Not only did Kelly keep to his word by not making any advances, but you also found out you two were more compatible than you’d realized. Settling on different ends of your couch, it only took a couple episodes of your favorite show before you guys were practically semi-cuddled into one another. You had enthusiastically explained the plot so he would at least understand what he was watching, and Kelly had listened attentively as he had watched you.
Looking on as you lit up talking about a favorite of yours was something Kelly could do over and over again.
Though conversation was sparse, when you did talk, it was easy. With you mostly answering questions about the show and Kelly making up ridiculous theories based on his limited knowledge, time flew by. With a blanket laid across both of your laps, you couldn’t remember the last time you were so comfortable in another person’s presence.
What you really remembered most from that night however were the moments after you paused your TV marathon so Kelly could get you guys some refills from the kitchen.
As he made his way back over to you, you remember thinking that you missed the warmth his closeness brought. You also remember thinking that you would have to continue missing it since he would no doubt return to his original position on the other side of the couch.
That’s why you can’t adequately explain the feeling of hope that went through you as you watched him lift the blanket back up. You don’t know how to put into words the sensation of pure thrill that flooded you as you realized he was doing that so he could press his side back into yours.
You tried to play it off like your heart wasn’t racing as fast as it was in your chest. But as the blanket came back down and you both got comfortably readjusted underneath it before hitting “play” on the remote, what you really remember thinking is,
“I could get used to this.”

A/N: Hey everyone! Writing this has become so much fun for me.!!! This was originally going to be much longer but I decided to split up the chapters. Now I'm not saying that the more likes/comments/reblogs this gets, the more likely I'll post the next chapter sooner rather than later, but...no, no yeah that's exactly what I'm saying 😝 Thanks to everyone's kindness from the last chapter. As always, it's what keeps me going.

An Unexpected Family Reunion- CH 40 End Scene
Tumblr media
Previous. Masterlist.
It was Monday morning and somehow everyone in the Severide household managed to over sleep.
Sadie rushed to get dressed, brushing her hair up into a messy bun. She saw a folded up piece of paper on her night stand and mentally kicked herself for forgetting.
Going into the kitchen where Kelly was making coffee to go she shoved the piece of paper at him.
"I need you to sign this!"
He quickly opened it up, glancing at the form.
"Report card huh? Why did you wait…oh hey! Great job Sades!"
He smiled as he signed the report card full of nothing but As and Bs.
"Thanks, hey I'm going to take the bus to school."
She mentioned quickly shoving the paper in her bag.
"You don't want me to take you?"
Kelly asked as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"No, it'll make you late for shift. I'll be fine. I love you."
"Love you too…"
He barely finished the sentence before she was out the door.
Stella emerged from the bedroom carrying both of their bags as Kelly finished up with the coffees.
"Ready?"
She asked, grabbing her cup and handing Kelly his bag.
"Ready when you are."
He kissed her cheek before following her out the door.
As the pair walked up the apron to the firehouse Kelly's phone dinged.
Checking it, it was a text from Sadie.
Sades: Made it to school, wasn't late 🙃
Kelly: Good, have a good day. Love you
Sades: love you too, yall be safe ❤️‍🔥
The rest of the day passed rather uneventfully for both Severides.
Kelly sat at the squad table later that afternoon, glancing up every once in a while, knowing Sadie was due back from school but she hadn't arrived yet.
He pulled out his phone and checked the time, 4:30.
He sighed and tapped on Sadie's number, pressing his phone to his ear as it rang.
Intelligence pulled up to a fresh crime scene in their respective vehicles.
A city bus sat crookedly parked on the street, its nose crashed against a parked car.
As the group stepped closer they could see blood splattered against the windows which were also littered with bullet holes.
"What are we looking at?"
Voight asked the responding officer gruffly.
"Suspected gang shooting…everyone in there is deceased. No witnesses yet."
Voight stepped onto the bus. The driver was dead, slumped over the wheel. Looking around he saw a handful of bodies laying on the floor and across seats.
"Based on some of these tattoos I'm seeing it looks like something went on between the Latin Kings and the Black Disciples."
Atwater commented from behind him, looking at the bodies around them.
The floor was littered with brass bullet casings, blood pooled around where the bodies fell.
A phone rang towards the back of the bus, Voight followed the sound of gentle chiming.
The phone was resting on the floor, partially covered in blood.
With a gloved hand he picked it up, the screen still lit as it continued to ring.
He stared at the screen, the name on the caller id read 'Kelly Bro' and a picture of Kelly and Sadie Severide stared back at him.
**I do plan on doing a book 2 to this story. So stay tuned for future updates!**

I found a more heart-wrenching version of When there’s no one to hold you, I will still hold you down on my Google Drive. And uh … kinda thinking of posting that. Same premise and characters, just written completely differently and with a lot more angst.
What do y’all think?
