two of the members of the seventh earth council, the group that controls the spaceship and literally everything on it. it's funny they're called that, none of the members have seen earth with their own two eyes. it's been a long time since any human has walked on that planet...

two of the techies. the tech department is where all regular folk want to end up at. there's a very slim chance anyone could get into the council, it almost functions like a royal family — but the tech department? well... okay that kind of functions like that too, the children of techies usually end up as techies, and there's little class mobility otherwise. BUT there's a bigger chance for any regular person to become a mechanic than to become a council member!

they handle maintenance work on the spaceship, on the equipment, on the robots, they write code, they design new and improved versions of any sort of tech. they enjoy much more personal freedom than regular workers.

two of the workers. the workers are manual labourers who handle all the work the techies haven't yet managed to automate or don't have the resources to automate. farming, mining, all that stuff. backbreaking labour. on top of that, they get paid very little, and now with the new SSRCU models already created, they're HOUNDED by the stupid bots too.

i chose hungarian names/spellings for all of them, if you wanna know exactly how they're pronounced please use a translator app because my phonetic spelling SUCKS. but i think they're all very straightforward :)

so about zaps. the tech guys call it zaps 100%. affectionately (mostly). its primary and default disciplinary action is administering shocks, and well, sometimes it goes haywire and just shocks a bunch of people at the workstation. hence the name.

the workers usually refer to it as anything derogatory. the thing, the beast, the monster, the attack dog, the painbot, the warden. officially though they address it like they would any superior, with either sir or ma'am. but they rarely have to (if theyre good <3 )

council members refer to it as the bot, or if they need to specify theyll say the serial number, 01.

zaps' full official name is self-sufficient riot control unit or SSRCU-01. it was the first of its kind and its been around the longest

『 Sovembar 』

The city of Kikinda (eastern Vojvodina, Serbia) is one of the biggest winter roost sites of the long-eared owl (Asio otus) in the world. The owls can be seen perched on trees in the town. In November, the educational program "Sovembar" is organised in Kikinda.

In 2009, ornithologists counted up to 743 owls in Kikinda's city center. The town has been unofficially claimed as the Owl Capital.

The term "Sovembar" comes from "sova" = owl in Serbian, and "novembar"

Tradicionalni “Dani ludaje” u Kikindi od 14. do 17. septembra

Ovogodišnja 38. po redu manifestacija „Dani ludaje” održaće se od 14. do 17. septembra u Kikindi - najavljeno je danas na konferenciji za novinare u Turističkoj organizaciji Srbije.

Manifestacija je neraskidivi deo tradicije i prepoznatljiv simbol Grada Kikinde. “Od skromne gradske priredbe, vremenom je stvorena manifestacija koja promoviše sve turističke, ali i privredne i kulturne potencijale Grada Kikinde, kao i vrednosti severnobanatske sredine ne samo u našoj zemlji, nego i u inostranstvu. Manifestaciju svake godine poseti više desetina hiljada gostiju iz zemlje i inostranstva”, rekao je Mladen Bogdan, predsednik Skupštine Grada Kikinde. On je istakao i da se turizam u Kikindi sve više razvija, da se broj noćenja godišnje povećava za 15 procenata, što je pogotovo veliki uspeh za sredinu koja nema ni more, ni reku.

Tokom četiri dana predstojeće manifestacije ponudiće se, kao i prethodnih godina, mnoštvo sadržaja i događanja: Banatski fruštuk gde mogu da se probaju specijaliteti tog kraja, Gostinska soba gde  kulturno-umetnička društva prikazuju svoj program, a maskirani predškolci naprave pravu atrakciju kada njih oko 500 prodefiluje gradom obučeni u kostime plodova jeseni i nastave druženje na Kinderbalu. Neizostavni su i večernji koncerti velikih muzičkih zvezda koji upotpunjuju program manifestacije i dodatno doprinose njenoj prepoznatljivosti. Ove godine nastupiće Stefan Milenković, YU grupa, dr Nele Karajlić, Milica Pavlović i Saša Matić.

Ono što čini srž manifestacije jeste merenje najteže i najduže ludaje. Najteža izmerena lepotica na „37. Danima ludaje“ imala je težinu od 716,5 kg - proizveo ju je Tibor Kokai iz Mađarske , a najdužu 259 cm dugačku, proizveo je Dušan Jankov iz Čuruga.

Posle konferencije za novinare mališani iz Kikinde, tamburaši i promoteri su prošetali Knez Mihailovom ulicom i, uz pesmu i posluženje čuvene pite od bundeve, pozvali Beograđane da posete “Dane ludaje” od 14. do 17. septembra.

Prema prvim informacijama, petoro putnika je prevezeno na pregled u Opštu bolnicu u Kikindi i niko nije životno ugrožen. Uviđaj je u toku. Istraga će pokazati iz kog razloga je došlo do prevrtanja…

Speaking of public transport in this shithole of a country, my peak experience was when a train almost hit a granny. She was walking way too close railways (who does that??) from one village to another so when train rushed past her (at like, 50km/h) wind knocked her down. She was legit fine, no visible injuries but lady insisted she company still pays her damage(?? which damage??). Trip got extended for 2.5 hours cuz she wanted to sue the company or something

#also there was that one time bus to kikinda had hole inside it - ive seen videos of ppl having to jump over it to get to their seat #i know noone is crazy enough to do this but i still need to warn foreigners: do not come to serbia you'll get shock of your life

A long time ago I translated some article snippets on UFO sightings in Yugoslavia. Nothing substantial but the presence of the phenomenon is interesting.

About a month later, at the end of January 1968, the same media again broadcast events from Rijeka. This time, Ante Glavina, an official in the administration of the Municipal Assembly, came forward claiming that he saw an unknown object. "I was on the terrace of the building with my wife and suddenly noticed a bright moon-shaped object at an indefinite height, but much larger. An unknown body spun in a spiral and thus moved northeast across the Sušak hospital building," Glavina told Vjesnik. It is especially interesting to mention Vjesnik's almost incidental comment from the same article: "We received similar information from some other citizens." Even more interesting is the writing of Vjesnik from the autumn of 1971, when they got access to an authentic conversation between the Regional Aircraft Control Center of Zagreb Airport and JAT's Convair 440 on the flight between Pula and Zagreb. At that time, sightings of an unknown body over Kvarner were frequent, and after a "military person" from Pula reported seeing a rhomboid body somewhere above Lošinj, the flight control contacted the plane to ask if they saw anything in the sky. Flight Control: What is the visibility in your field of vision? Plane: Very good. Control: If you can, take a look there somewhere towards the coast between Zadar and Rijeka, again some flying objects in course 160 have been spotted. Plane: Thank you. Visibility is great, but we don't see anything yet, if we see it, we'll let you know.

Control: Be kind, look at Rijeka as well. Flight control from Rijeka reported two flying light objects on course 140 from Rijeka. Plane: We saw it in Pula, it's the bodies that the press writes about, luminous objects at a height of four to five kilometers, as we have seen before over Nis, Subotica, Kikinda. Control: Can you describe to us what these bodies look like?

DANI LUDAJE U KIKINDI OD 15. DO 18. SEPTEMBRA

Ovogodišnja manifestacija „37. Dani ludaje” održava se u Kikindi od 15. do 18. septembra.  Manifestacija je neraskidivi deo tradicije i prepoznatljiv simbol grada na severu Banata. Svojim razvijanjem, od skromne gradske priredbe, stvorena je manifestacija koja promoviše sve turističke, ali i privredne i kulturne potencijale Grada Kikinde, kao i vrednosti ove severnobanatske sredine, ne samo u našoj zemlji, nego i u inostranstvu.Manifestaciju poseti više desetina hiljada gostiju iz zemlje i inostranstva - Rumunije, Mađarske, Hrvatske, Bosne i Hercegovine, Slovenije, Slovačke i Bugarske, Republike Srpske, koji su ne samo posetioci, nego i učesnici različitih  programa.Manifestacija tokom 4 dana nudi mnoštvo događaja. Tako se u “Gostinskoj sobi” u ovom delu Evrope nađe “Banatski fruštuk” gde mogu da se probaju specijaliteti ovog kraja, kulturno-umetnička društva prikazuju svoje sposobnosti, a maskirani predškolci naprave pravu atrakciju kada njih više od 500 prodefiluje gradom obučeni u plodove jeseni: tu su izložbe, dečije igre sa ludajom, sportski susreti, naravno neizostavni su i večernji koncerti koji upotpunjuju program manifestacije. Ono što čini srž manifestacije jeste merenje najteže i najduže ludaje. Najteža izmerena lepotica ima težinu od 639,5 kilograma – proizveo je Dušan Jankov iz Novog Sada, a najdužu 366 centimetara dugačku, proizveo je Goran Lazić iz Kikinde. Goran Lazić je nosilac i Ginisovog rekorda u dužini ludaje: na takmičenju u Mozirju u Sloveniji oborio je Ginisov rekord sa ludajom dugačkom 394,5 centimetara. Svi rekordi ostvareni su u 2019. godini.

Tatjana's father is a Russian emigrant, Aleksandar Valentinovich Nikolaev, and her mother is a Serb from Kikinda, Dejanka Vozić. Tatjana was born in a Russian hospital in Pancevo in 1929.
