I really want to see Hinako and Koujiro end up together. They've known each other for so long and seem to have a noticeable chemistry. Maybe he might stay in Japan for longer periods of times other then certain Totsuki events

Who was your fav ship in SnS before Isshiki x Kinokuni?

Hmm, going ALLL the way back to like the early manga and anime, I really liked RyoAli (Ryou x Alice). I think their dynamic is really cute and they’ve been together since the start. It’s obvious despite Alice’s “princessy” attitude and Ryou’s indifference that they both hold each other in high regards and respect :)

Around the same time as the Training Camp arc, Shinomiya x Hinako was so ADORABLE imo! I’m really a sucker for like the tsundere male and the eccentric female.

A little before IsshiNene came out during RdC, EiRin (Eishi x Rindou) were probably my #1. Like how can you not love these two cinnamon rolls? Totally amazing, totally talented and good looking . They were great characters on their own but together they were MAGIC!

Can’t you tell I just love side ships? XD

“I want to watch that one!” Hinako’s outstretched Arm pointed at a very colourful movie cover within Netflix’ line-up. “That looks fun!”

Kojiro’s eyes narrowed as he followed her finger. But it only took him 1 second of analysis to come to a conclusion. “It looks like it’s for toddlers!”

Hinako let out an outraged gasp and shot him a huffy look. “It’s not for toddlers!” She began poking his cheek. “Your cynical soul has just forgotten what a fun movie even is! We can’t all be grim and edgy all the time, you know? Besides-“

Before she could continue, Kojiro grabbed her hand to stop the poking. “And you fall asleep after 5 minutes, no matter which movie!” He growled. “I don’t see why you should get to choose at all!”

Once again Hinako gasped, before grabbing one of the pillows and throwing it in his face. “To suggest something like that! Honestly! I’m super attentive aaaall the time!”

“Maybe we should watch that damn movie. Because you sure act like a toddler now!” Kojiro retorted instantly, while simultaneously throwing the pillow back at her.

“Rude!” She pouted. And so the unplanned pillow fight went on.

Which couples do you ship the most and the least? Soma/Erina, Takumi/Megumi, Akira/Hisako, Kojiro/Hinako, Ryoko/Shun?

Souma x Erina is VERY far above the rest on this list because I don’t really ship anything else strongly (if at all), but…

Takumi x Megumi is cute in theory, and there is that nice story from the drama CD of Takumi saving Megumi from his fangirls wrath, but I need MANY more interactions between them in the manga before I could fully back this ship. 

Ryoko x Shun is also cute, and I think it’s kind of been very, very mildly hinted at? Maybe? Or not? I’m not sure. But I do like it. But we never really get much from either character, let alone interactions between them, for me to feel strongly about this ship one way or another.

Kojiro x Hinako is a funny ship with some potential. I feel like I’d ship this more if I read the Shinomiya spinoff. Apparently there’s some cute flashbacks and interactions between them in there? 

Akira x Hisako I don’t ship at all. I just don’t see anything between them. They only really interacted when they had that match against each other and there was nothing romantic there IMO. If anything, Akira seems more into his surrogate mom figure Jun haha. And I don’t think Hisako is romantically interested in anyone at all at the moment.

You said it mod Tadokoro. ShinoHina is basically the Roy Mustang/Riza Hawkeye pairing of this fandom

I've actually never sat down and watched the Fullmetal series-- I know, I know, blasphemy! Still, somehow in my heart of hearts I just know this is an apt comparison.

The Shokugeki L'etoile series, given that it's the spin-off to a Jump publication, is surprisingly in touch with Shinomiya's emotional and introspective nuances in a way that's borderline shoujoesque-- possibly because Shinomiya's personal fanbase itself exists for uh, shoujoesque reasons, lmao. The way it presents his attachments to the women in his life is particularly revealing-- his mother, Mizuhara, Megumi, Hinako.

The unexpected diversity in the nature of his attachments is part of what makes him such an excellent character, in my opinion. He is, in equal capacity and depth; a son, a rival, a teacher. A could've-been something, maybe, if only he'd get his head out of his ass--

Goddammit. I just love Shinomiya. I don't know where exactly I was going with this bit of pseudometa but he's so great. ShinoHina is so goddamn real I'm still reeling from the snow bunny thing... I hope the wedding's in Paris. I hope Megumi's their too-old Flower Girl. I hope there's a whole fiasco with the ring when Souma inevitably loses it half an hour before the ceremony.

Sentai Filmworks Previews "Food Wars!" Dub - Announces English Cast

Coming on August 15th, Section 23 will be releasing a collection of Food Wars! from Sentai Filmworks. They presented a preview at Anime Expo and announce the early-episode cast then. Now, they're back with a promo video and a complete cast list.  

    Ever since he was little, Soma Yukihira’s main goals have been to beat his father in a cooking contest and take over the family diner. That’s why, when his dad suddenly announces that he’s shutting the restaurant down and sending Soma to cooking school, Soma is shocked. However, Tohtsuki Academy is no ordinary cooking school. This elite institution is filled with culinary giants like Erina “God Tongue” Nakiri, who does her best to keep a lowly short-order like Soma from even making it inside the door. However, if the snobs can dish it out, Soma can serve it up, and when he learns that only a handful of the students manage to graduate every year, he swears that the only way he’ll leave is as number one in FOOD WARS!
