editor’s commentary 1: intro

alright editor's commentary bc @pinkninja236 and @whycellothurr were sweet and expressed interest and also because this is a good metacognition exercise i think

so the intro 18 seconds are most of the reason why i wanted to upload a version without the dialogue as well, because it was mostly by accident but by doing that i really realised something big about contrasting images and it shaped the way i did the whole rest of the video.

i did a whole sort of shot by shot analysis of what every clip in the first 18 seconds means but eventually i got to a point so tldr is this:

30: the Watching and the Learning, echoing shot 26, but also the sort of symbolic meaning i put onto this shot of yaz in 11x4, because im pretty sure it repeats, is the..... how to say this. the unknowing queerness?

what i used multiple shots from 11x4 as – this shot of yaz inviting 13 over, 13 accepting (closing a door), and also yaz walking out of her house later – it’s like, the start of something. the point of no return? (door closing). this is (in my interpretation in this video and this fic) the start of yaz realising shes queer, the start of the doctor walking into this situation that she wont be able to walk back out of without heartbreak, and also, with the shot of yaz walking out of her own house later, yaz growing up? yaz realising and accepting shes queer and like, leaving home? not literally leaving home but like, choosing a path for her life? choosing her life with the doctor over getting bread and eating dinner with her family is choosing to walk into a queer identity. thats sort of metaphorically what im saying i think.

thats not really what these 4 shots are though. not yet. this is just, 30: yaz, standing on the precipice (making a decision), 31: this love that she couldnt have anticipated when she made that one single choice in 11x4 to invite the doctor in, where it has left her, how shes home again, but unwilling or unable to go back home and sleep in her own bed, because she chose life with the doctor, she chose the queer life, shes not,,, like, walking back home and going back there? you know what i mean? shes here now. shes chosen. and in this moment it’s sort of miserable, and maybe this whole love, this whole relationship is sort of miserable, but shes queer and sticking with it i think is metaphorically (at least for right now, for this video) an expression of how like, being queer and being out is not about who youre in love with.

32: the doctor being purposefully oblivious. gonna quote @rowanthestrange‘s meta of how the doctor is queer bc thats what this is then. yaz choosing embracing accepting this life, living it in this tardis, contrasted with the doctor, in her tardis, pretending she doesnt KNOW all of this, that she doesnt NOTICE. and then! and then! the doctor! enthusiastically accepting yaz’s invitation to icome home with yaz. to the place that yaz leaves behind metaphorically as she accepts her queerness. the doctor closing the door of her tardis, closing the door on travel (thinking of this video essay (around 9:00-23:40)) and walking into yaz’s flat expressing the desire to have a place like that. “never had a flat. i should get one. i’d be good in a flat. i could get a sofa. imagine me with a sofa! like my own sofa” imagine me stationary.

the doctor cant, of course. they cant sit on a sofa and they cant live in a house and they cant be stationary and theyve hated the idea before. ugh cant be domestic. ugh cant sit still. ugh this is BORING. ugh humans. but this doctor expresses the desire to sit in a flat and be still (after losing her out gay companion i might add!!) in the flat that yaz is leaving bc shes realising shes queer. Yaz Is Queer. The Doctor Is Yaz. The Doctor Is Queer.

34: “you will” something something yaz confronting the doctor about the thing shes denying/ignoring/pretending doesnt exist, 35:

tldr: the doctor lost her openly gay companion by being late, to events she had set into motion herself, and now the metaphorical queerness of travelling feels more risky to her, for herself but especially for her companions, especially for her new queer companion. and yaz is here to tell her to confront this.

so we’ve got:

1: 13 is afraid to be left alone

2: harold.... ashjk no, kidding. 2: they like being with each other. i think this is probably important to state right at the beginning because the rest of the video/fic is so,,, like,,, depressing? sorta? because they treat each other not super great, especially 13 yaz, so it’s important to state at the beginning that they do like each other. thats kinda where all the problems start, right?

3: repeat the abandonment anxiety, but add the hope. hard to resist/makes one awfully frightened.

4: show the way she pushes yaz away (out of fear)

5: but remember she wants this. she wants this company, she wants yaz’s company, she does not want to be alone.

6: the fear that makes her push yaz away only mostly in a passive/defensive way until now makes her escalate to offense

7: the reason yaz accepts this treatment

8: 13 knowing where this will end. namely, alone. this is fun because i think this shot here pulls like triple duty. shes afraid of losing yaz bc she always loses companions, shes afraid of losing yaz by failing yaz the same way she lost bill, and i think this shot (here in how ive used it in my video, not for like, its original context necessarily) can communicate that she knows what shes doing to yaz will lead to yaz walking away eventually.

and does she fear this? or does she want this? is it better to have yaz walk away safely, abandoning her, maybe disliking her or worse, but alive? or is it that too painful and does she want to keep yaz with her at all costs even if this will most likely end in a worse way for yaz to leave her? i think thats the tension for 13. or at the very least i think thats what this shot in this video here is communicating. she knows shes pushing yaz away, she knows shes being unfair, but she cant stop. she doesnt want yaz to leave but the way this ends is inevitable. is this control? is this it control to push her away so that she has a reason to leave? is it control to make her leave so that her death is not on your hands? is this saving her?

if missys situation in the second half of s10 is that she doesnt know whether shes going to stand with the doctor in the end (which i believe it is. i dont think she knows whether she will be ‘good’ or ‘bad’ until she decides to stab the master at like ¾ through 10x12) then 13’s similar question in s13 (and maybe s12 already) is that she doesnt know whether shes trying to keep yaz with her or make yaz leave.

9: i think this is an important shot right after number 7 with the doctor inbetween them (the doctor knowing what shes doing) because it communicates that yaz also knows what shes doing. that shes not naive. that shes not following the doctor or staying with her in the same heart-eyed way that 11x4 yaz maybe was. that heart-eyed kid is still in there but yaz is older now, and shes keeping up. you know? it’s like that line in the script:

so thats what this shot i think conveys. she loves the doctor, but her choices are not based on wide-eyed naive admiration. you know? she knows whats going on. the wide-eyed 11x4 yaz comes back though, i use that shot a couple of times to represent like, the fundamental feeling underneath it all? the love? idk

10: the doctor anticipating being disappointing. the doctor seeing yaz’s frustration as well as she sees her crush. the doctor knowing shes hurting yaz but not being able to stop because of that tension she hasnt resolved in herself; “do i want yaz to stay or do i want her to go”

11: knowing where this ends, whatever way it ends, this is where it ends. a struggle against this fate but also maybe a resignation with it. (hope: hard to resist, but makes one awfully frightened)

12: they both know. we all know. theyre not talking about it. nobodys talking about it, but theyre painfully aware of whats going on, both of them. of different parts of whats going on maybe, but still, theyre both Very Aware of what theyre doing themselves and of what the other is feeling. (and less Relevant maybe but ryan knows too, and ryan is standing in for Everyone here sorta. bc theyre reacting to ryan here right? this is a reaction shot to ryan saying “obviously. we didnt get this far just to get exterminated” WHICH IS!!!!! WE’RE NOT TALKING ABOUT OUR MENTAL HEALTH BESTIES BUT WE! ALL! KNOW! and we’re not talking about the LoveTM but we all know that too! we all saw that in timeless children! ryan, graham, the audience, whats left of humanity, everyone knows. thats this shot.

13: we know. we’re not talking about it. we’re Seeing how we’re not talking about it. specifically yaz knows, and not just knows but yaz is like, actively watching 13 Not Talking About It and her mental health SpirallingTM. shes Watching this. i think i put in a wip yaz watching 13, like, ignore injuries and internally bleed to death and once shes had enough yaz says something like “ive watched you get worse and worse until you died before and im not gonna let it happen again without saying anything”. thats this. yaz is Watching.

14: thats this one too. this is the moment right after number 13. this is the same yaz is Watching this happen idea but with an added bit of yaz is suffering from the ‘you too, huh?’. shes watching 13’s mental health be shit and she will try to say something about that before it ends in a successful suicide mission AND shes watching 13 be ObliviousTM about yaz’s feelings but she wont ever say anything about that (until dan forced her hand but thats not where we are rn)

15: big in love, will not say this. this shot is like,, idk, playing twins with that shot of yaz in arachnids. this updated repetition i think conveys like, yes yaz is deeply in love. i think it functions similar to the repetition of 13 in arachnids. like why are they doing this? why dont they just walk away? have to convey their motivation

16: not gonna say it though, about the being in love part, but that IS where her worry comes from which makes her push 13 like this

17: and thats how this kuleshov thing is working. bc yaz pushes, why does she push? bc shes in love. like, shot 15 and 17 here sandwiching 16 convey her motivations. right? does that make sense?

18: “im not gonna say how i love you” 19: “im not gonna say how i dont want you to leave” 20: we WILL show it though

here 18 and 19 also are a match in how yaz and 13 turn, which i think works out well in this situation because we’re comparing how theyre doing the same thing right?

also it’s ocurring to me now that the main function of this intro is just like, setting up their motivations? what drives them? why are they now in the situation that theyre in? and then the rest of the video runs with that, veers off into the story of the fic im writing. but you need to establish the foundations first. i think thats what the intro does. it’s just establishing what is driving 13 and yaz when it comes to each other

YEAH BOYY THIS IS IT OKAY ALRIGHT DO YOU SEE THIS??? I THINK I GET HOW THIS WORKS NOW!!!

okay so this continues on the last 3 shots, basically i think theyre a unit of these 5. the first two, 18 and 19, are a match bc we’re comparing how theyre doing the same thing, the last two are a match again because we’re AGAIN comparing how theyre doing the same thing. we’re NOT talking about how we love each other/how we dont want each other to leave, but we ARE gonna express it with anger.

the shot of the hug in the middle doesnt match either the two before or the two after. it’s disruptive. and it’s the truth about how they feel.

it’s also like. the first two are them showing how theyre Not saying things and the last two are the resentment about that and the middle is the hug bc theyre doing all this for love <3

23: the way yaz takes this treatment by the doctor (of herself and of others) 24: for this reason 25: match with 24 because this love is tangled with resentment and suppressed anger.

this love is tangled with a lot of things, from all parties, thats what the video is about. thats also why the hug and the shove come back in many different variations. we’ve got thasmin hug -> thoschei kiss. thasmin shove -> thoschei shove. thasmin hug -> thoschei shove. thasmin shove -> thoschei kiss. i think we’ve got most of them

26&27: “i listen to you, i watch you, i learn from you”

28&29: what yaz will take out of love, and what she wont take out of that same love. and i think with the last 2 shots it’s also a sort of... like, 11x9: complete deference to the doctor’s authority but shes learning, 13x2: purposefully acting more like the doctor (when the doctor’s not there), 14x0: deference to the doctor’s authority when she is there, and 12x10: what yaz’s limits are. when she will act the doctor to go against the doctor. only to save her. thats when she’ll do it. thats when she’ll disrespect the doctor’s authority.

and then the last 5 clips i already talked about at the beginning. then theres only the dialogue left to talk about and i think the dialogue conveys this exact same idea of the doctor being like, afraid of her own metaphorical queerness bc of what happened to bill, and how yaz is the one to make her confront this:

13: late ryan: 10 months dan: three years now 13: late yaz: what?! 13: very different ways 12: our usual saturday 13: 77 minutes out bill: i was down there for 10 years yaz: youre hiding something 13: youre not gonna come back yaz: stop leaving us all the time 13: youre not gonna come back- yaz: -the same yaz: youre hiding something 13: late 13: nothings going on with me yaz: dont lie to us yaz: more time with you yaz: tell me! 13: when have i ever let you down before? yaz: you will

i really wanna be a different more grown adult person by new year. im not setting any goals that ill disappoint myself by not achieving or anything but def have a few things that i wanna be consistently doing by then like i wanna have my license by then or atleast just be comfortable behind the wheel. and then i wanna try to get a job for real but thats alot more in the air obviously. and then i wanna get up early and eat breakfast more often and start the day on a good note as opposed to crawling out of bed at 1 and doing whatever it is i have to do for the day and then sleeping at 3 am lol. obv exercising is on the list too i wanna be more in shape and more consistently exercising day to day cause my stomach is really sticking out compared to the rest of me but i think im more interested in just being like fit and not getting exhausted quickly as opposed to being interested in losing fat or anything. i just wanna feel active and alive really lol. and also really this past month has made me realize that my family really is like difficult and they have alot of problems being helpful and actually helping one another. like they jump to very individualistic modes of thought when im doing smthn and ask for a small favor and i really have to get my shit all together cause it can be v stressful doing all their dishes and always having to do small chores that they could easily help w/ or that we could take turns doing its insane how much they just make no effort to be kind human beings when work has to be done. but ya theyre like that and im gonna have to be in top shape to do all the housework that they could help with but wont and if im in top shape it rly wont mean much to me and will make me feel good to do work for myself. theyre also v liek idk what the word is but they sorta make it hard for me to grow as a person so i have to push myself twice as hard i think. anyways ive been really happy lately really identifying where and how i want my life to go cause i really feel like iWasted the shit out of these past 3 years in college. i had nice experiences and met my closest friend there which was great and am grateful to have been to a community college but i had no business being there w/ the disorganized state my life was i was just kinda going cause it was expected of me. Covid obv made this more apparent but also made college way more difficult for me. Im an adult and i am happy to make decisions about my life and i hope i grow more within the coming years. theres alot of love in my heart and i have a lot of interests and passions mainly in the realm of art and i hope i can grow and become more efficient at the things i love and can enjoy everything more because of it. <3

‧͙⁺˚*·༓☾ i have.... a lot of thoughts so i’ll put post of them below the cut but i DO want to bring up one thing loud and clear so y’all can help me sort this out.

i was SO happy to see the emh again. that man is baby and i’d do anything for him. but anyway i was watching the episode with captions and i caught this:

emil??? EMIL?????? is that his fucking NAME??? why are we giving him a name NOW? he’s been in two episodes already and y’all didn’t give him a fucking name!! we already named him diego, for fuck’s sake!!!

soooo idk what to do with this. i’m unfortunately the kind of person who likes to take the little bits of canon that we’re actually given and use them but i’m conflicted over this one. what do y’all think because i don’t wanna make this decision by myself.

anyway. the rest of my thoughts are below.

- okay. let’s start with the obvious. it wasn’t even 8am when i got to hugh’s death and my roommate was still asleep and here i am hunched over my computer sobbing uncontrollably. so eventually i had to just get up and go sit on the floor of the living room where i cried for pretty much 10 minutes straight. i really couldn’t let go of it for the rest of the episode tho so i think it’s a good thing that we saw will and deanna before it happened. i wouldn’t have been able to appreciate them at all and i was SO excited it was all i could talk about all week. i need more time to process this i think. mostly i’m angry that it was so senseless. the shock value did exactly what they wanted it to but im still furious. or i will be once i move past the initial grieving. i just feel.... really really empty inside.

- his earlier moments with elnor were good. seeing him hold his ground was incredible and him mourning the xb was devastating and i didn’t even know what was coming. also i have to mention what he said right before he died. i dont even remember the exact words, something about having foolish hope again and thanking elnor for it and ok im crying again so im gonna stop talking about him lol

- seeing will and deanna was great though! i love them and their daughter. i was glad at how much jean-luc got called the fuck out. especially deanna just saying that he’s not acting how he used to and telling him to basically shape up and be the captain. omg when soji pushed jean-luc and he fell into will and then will went absolutely feral??? iconic. gay legends only. i do love them so much and im mad that everything with hugh had to spoil it.

- i despise narissa with everything in me. i already hated her but none of it was personal until this episode. and narek, even tho this didnt directly involve him, is a bastard and nothing that he does ever again no matter any redemption they try to give him, will make me forgive him or like him or feel for him.

- im glad we got to see what commodore oh did to agnes. i was expecting more direct manipulation/control rather than just convincing her that this was the right thing to do. it did make me super pissed off at her for just being sad and eating cake. but holy fuck i didn’t expect her to try and kill herself??? im glad the emh got to her before she died but now she’s in a coma and it seems like next episode she’ll be up and talking so thats a relief but there’s a little part of me that’s angry she got to live and hugh died. i know they’re not connected in any way but yeah.

- still on the train of thought with agnes and the emh... god i cant wait to write ANOTHER fic now addressing this, and the fact that he nearly had another person die on his watch (and how grateful he probably is that he managed to save her).

- i still miss hugh. i think i’m going to miss hugh for the rest of my life. if yondu’s death still shakes me all these years later, this is going to be even worse. i’m sorry my baby boy, you deserved so much better. rest easy.

UPDATE: - so it’s been about 10 hours now and i’m still not okay, but since then, they released that video of del arco talking about hugh’s arc and his death and i’m still incredibly unhappy BUT i was relieved to know that he felt good about the way his story ended. it makes it a little easier to accept. but it did make me start crying like a baby again.

Luther Hargreeves

ok listen. i know he is certainly not a fan favourite and i absolutely hated him the first few times i watched ua. but this time, i rewatched it specifically to try to sympathize with luther and guys there are so many things at play here

he doesn’t realize the extent to which his siblings were abused. he brushes klaus off and doesn’t think twice about locking up vanya again because he just assumes they had the same experience. he’s not being an asshole (on purpose), he just never stopped to think about the fact that being Hargreeves’ favourite made life a lot easier for him.

similar to the first note, he never stopped to consider the implications of having powers that hurt to use. he has super strength, something that, compared to some of the other powers in the family, is nothing. he just doesnt realize what seeing corpses is like, which is why he doesnt get klaus’ addiction (and to be fair, neither do the rest of his siblings). Same with Vanya. He doesn’t think about what it’s like to learn you have powers after being told you’re horribly boring and average your whole life, nor what it’s like to find out your memory was erased. he had it a lot easier than his siblings, but he doesnt think about that. that leads to some poor decisions and awful seeming actions, but keep in mind that we know a lot more than he does about his siblings. we’ve seen their pain but he hasnt. no one in this damn family communicates, so he just doesnt get it. i wish hed stop to think about how other people feel every once in a while, but itd also help if they just straight up said “hey being high keeps the gory corpses out of my field of view, im not a fan of this either” to help him understand. he wasnt taught empathy, but he tries for the most part. honestly, the fact that he turned out that nice considering what he grew up with? kind of incredible

hes not just obsessed with the moon. and to be fair, he has a right to it? i mean i havent stopped talking about this show for 2 months and ive had other things happening in my life. he was alone up there for 4 years. that doesnt give you much conversation material. and also, bringing up the idea that the apocalypse could be caused by the moon makes sense because, yeah, he was sent up there by their dad who knew about the apocalypse (whether luther was aware of that or not). He was up there to look for threats, so its not that odd to consider that the threat he was watching for could have caused the apocalypse...oh speaking of which HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE MOON IT DID CAUSE THE APOCALYPSE

i think a lot of people like to ignore the fact that he was also abused. sure, it wasnt to the extent of klaus or vanya but he had a horrible childhood nonetheless which messed him up too. he wasnt taught a lot of the things we take for granted so like i said earlier, the fact that he’s not completely deranged is astonishing

also can we mention the horrible trauma he went through? like lmao monkey man but oh my gosh can you imagine? he almost died (in a horribly painful way) and woke up months later with a fucking gorilla body. he’ll never look like a normal person again. he probably will never be able to look in the mirror and like what he sees (you can find out first hand what its like to be me so GATHER ROU-) yes everything Klaus went through was horrible but Luther has lived through some fucked up shit too and i think we like to ignore that because he’s not very likeable

the scene with vanya. it hurts me every time i think about it. HOWEVER. i understand why he did it. do i think he made the right choice? fuck no. but i get why he did what he did. Vanya was extremely dangerous. She caused the apocalypse. she literally killed everyone on earth. these arent things we should brush over. (and yes i love vanya but that’s not what we’re talking about here) she very nearly killed Allison, and he doesn’t know her well enough to know if she’s here to genuinely apologize or finish the job. He just knows he has a responsibility not only to his family, but to the entire world. so he makes a tough decision. it hurts him too, look at his face. he doesnt want to do it but he doesnt think he has any other options.

about dismissing klaus: he has good reason (at least in his head). klaus is intoxicated constantly, and like i mentioned before, he doesnt realize its because of his powers. he just thinks klaus is trying to have a good time, and to be fair, klaus tries to hide his vulnerability (for the most part) so luther wouldnt know any better. in the end when he tells him to be a lookout? justified. the man is heavily suffering from withdrawal (or intoxicated, to luther’s knowledge? i cant remember if luther knows or not or whether he believes him for that matter) which is gonna impact his reaction time, and he doesnt have powers that can help anyway (as far as luther knows). yes, he was trained alongside them and allison is allowed to help despite also lacking usable powers; however, she is in a clearer state of mind and a lot healthier. She can physically fight. Klaus just kinda...jumps on people’s backs for the most part. Did you see her fight Cha Cha? *swoons* no but seriously, Allison is still highly skilled and in far better shape than Klaus. He’s a liability and staying outside is safer for everyone (again, as far as luther knows) all this being said, the way he treats klaus when hes drunk is Disgusting, Abhorrent, and Unacceptable. i understand that he doesnt realise his own power but thats inexcusable

luther x allison is gross, i agree HOWEVER they were not raised as adopted siblings, they were raised more closely akin to a boarding school. their dynamic had always been romantic; they never saw themselves as siblings. yes, i do find it very odd that literally everyone else considers each other siblings, but im just saying that their dynamic has always been different and technically it’s not really incestuous (im not condoning it, i hate it personally i just can see why its not the worst thing ever? its still pretty yikes though. also shipping literally any other characters IS fucking gross because the rest of them see each other as siblings and always have so gtfo with klaus x diego or klaus x ben g r o s s)

those are the main complaints ive seen (and voiced myself)... basically it all boils down to the facts that 1. he was abused, just like his siblings 2. he doesnt stop to think about how other people are thinking or feeling 3. hes just trying to do what is best for his family (and the world). I sympathize with monkey man. He deserved better. I really hope in the next season he’ll pause to consider things every once in a while (and that klaus will open up because he’s not useless but he’s not explaining to anyone why he does the things he does and he needs to!!) so yeah was this basically just me yelling at me from a week ago? yes. does anyone care? probably not but i felt it had to be done. anyway im done ranting for now....if i missed anything lemme know

GEMSONAS FROM FINCTIONAL VIDEOGAME MINERALS: WARFRAME MASTERPOST

Gemsonas built from Warframe gemstones, using their appearance and the most interesting items those gemstones are components of, to determine their baseline homeworld role and appearance, not accounting for you wanting something different.

This list excludes Azurite because Warframe Azurite is just Azurite.

A thing to note: The way I am envisioning these gems is that the linked version, the refined/cut version of each gem is the Homeworld version, while rebels/renegades/forgotten outpost versions could be born from the uncut, raw versions that the articles link to.

Another thing to note: These are just my suggestions based on my own decisions on how the unexplored elements of Homeworld function. If anything Ive decided here conflicts with your idea of Homeworld, just override what Ive declared with your ideas of Homeworld and make these gems fit how you please.

The baseline for a Homeworld/Esher Devar, unless instructed/imagined otherwise, is that of a sort of Samurai Pearl Shogun. A sort of highly aesthetic police, combining the administrative duties of a pearl with a larger build and samurai themes, but also very stylized and making use of clear/reflective materials to reflect the refinement and elegance of The Diamond Authority.

The Esher Devar do not then serve as personal assistants, but are pretty strictly a self-administering police force, mainly used on outposts and stations not personally overseen by a Diamond, or Diamond-appointed overseer. As a result they tend to enforce their aesthetic onto the local populace, be they Gem or a subordinate life-form.

In the spirit of the shogunate and samurai of earth, the Esher Devar are typically arrogant, brash, crude in behaviour, but not especially unpleasant or unfriendly. It depends entirely on your allegiance and your status in the hierarchy, but if the conditions are met, an Esher Devar is a very boisterous and friendly companion.

They are however, incredibly military. Authoritarian, disciplined, lawful and unyielding, the Esher Devar, when left to self-operate, run a Might Makes Right system of government. They are, as the samurai of earth, honor-bound and straight-forward, but also ruthless and brutal. They will cut you down without a second thought if you pose so much as a credible threat to them or their system of governance, and they will enforce their laws without mercy.

But if you submit to their rule, and by extension the rule of the Diamonds, they will protect you as a valued citizen of their outpost, provided you do your assigned job loyally and to the best of your ability. They demand your best efforts, and in return will give you theirs.

Their appearance and Aesthetic is in large contrast to their behaviour, for they keep themselves very well presented. Elegant and clean, shining and pristine, they embody the grace and beauty of a pearl outfitted for strength and endurance in war.

Typically, they are larger and thicker than a Pearl, but still featuring that general bodytype. Typical weapon is a large, two-handed katana (aka Odachi/Nodachi).

Second is the red/blue duo, Marquise Thyst and Radiant Zodian, the refined cuts of Thyst and Zodian

Both of these gems are used to build the Garuda and Baruuk frames, and also each have a large list of uses in cosmetic items.

Garuda is a claw-wielding vampire frame, while Baruuk is a temperate monk frame, and due to the respective colors and shapes of Thyst and Zodian, I will be ascribing the red and sharp Marquise Thyst to Garuda and the round and blue Radiant Zodian to Baruuk.

Because both gems are used in a large variety of cosmetic items in the game, it can be said that the baseline roles for Marquise Thyst and Radiant Zodian are largely decorative. They serve as living sculptures and artworks, typically found in contemplative gardens and cathedrals, where these gems and their surrounding architectures embody particular aesthetics and mindsets.

With Garuda being a vampire frame, Marquise Thysts are the occupants of Red Cathedrals. These places are the spiritual centers of the physical components of the Gem race. The fluids used in Kindergartens, combining with the minerals in the soil to grow and produce Gem warriors and civil servants. The “blood” of Gems, as it were.

Through complete coincidence, these cathedrals and their occupants feature a very gothic aesthetic and architecture, with little lighting bathed in a deep red glow. The cathedrals are tall and slim, and because of their red color are popular with particularly “religious” rubies, as places of diamond worship.

The Marquise Thysts themselves are also very tall and slim, typically covering themselves under floor-length shawls and heavy hoods, with their faces hidden behind haunting masks that are featureless save for two pin-prick eyeholes.

When the cathedrals are empty the Thysts wander them slowly, and aimlessly, basking in their aesthetic and gothic mood. When the cathedrals have visitors, the Thysts will either stand still where they were, like statues, or else retreat and stand between the ribbing/pillars of the walls, like vampire gargoyles, staring at the visitors and ensuring the proper atmosphere is observed.

Though they are decorative set-pieces, the thysts are very capable of fighting, with the baseline for their weaponry being large jointed razor-sharp claws, which function much like long slender fingers. They have normal hands, and the claw are wrist-mounted, but tend to flex and gesture in unison with their actual fingers when in use.

In contrast, the Radiant Zodians occupy zen gardens, which are wide and open. These gardens are supposed to resemble a Gem’s clarity of vision and purpose, as given to them by their diamonds, and a gem who is lost and unable (or afraid to) seek guidance from their diamonds can come to one of these gardens and meditate on their given purpose and determine what they should be doing.

The Radiant Zodians cultivate these gardens, combing the stones and “tending to” the “plants”, which are really just crystalline growths which can be ground into a paste-like substance. It’s most common use is what passes for medicine for the gem race, being a substance that can repair cracks and “heal” gem warriors and constructions, as it is the same substance used by peridots and their flask robonoids to repair crystal structures such as warp pads.

As such, the zen gardens and their zodian custodians can be said to be “hospitals” and “doctors” of a sort, though with a distinctly buddhist monk aesthetic. The calm of the gardens can put to rest a weary soul, while the zodians apply the crystalline substance to any physical damage and tend to any wounded warriors.

Marquise Thysts and Radiant Zodians rarely interact, but when they do it is very polarizing. They either develop a strong revulsion to oneanother due to conflicting aesthetics and attitudes, or their stark differences make them the best of friends. It varies on the individual personalities of the gems themselves, if indeed they have the freedom to develop any.

Like their thyst cousins, the zodians are also very capable of fighting despite being more set-dressing than warriors, but where the thysts use large razor claws, the zodians use their

fists. The do encase their fists in a rock-hard material, but not to the degree of say, a gauntlet of some sort. Rather, they give their fists a thin coating which can protect, but can also be shattered and the pieces expelled as knife-like shards for a ranged attack.

The zodians typically avoid using actual weaponry because their most common cause for fighting is to enforce calm in their gardens, and they would never dare do any real damage to a fellow gem, so they have learned to use blunt force and pacifying attacks to subdue unruly visitors and set them on the path of meditation and calm.

Third is Star Amarast, the Homeworld cut of Amarast

By color and name alone, Amarast is obviously going to be just a deviation of an Amethyst. As such, they’re going to be rank-and-file soldiery, above that of ruby grunts but by much. Though star amarast is a component of Garuda, I figured since thats already taken then that the next most interesting uses of Star Amarast is in building K-Drives (high speed hover-boards) and kitguns (kitbashed laserguns just incase you needed that explained), as well as a one-handed short scythe.

As such, I decided that Amarasts would be the cavalry to an Amethyst infantry. What they mount depends on their post and what they have at their disposal. If they have a retinue of peridots they will most likely be mounted on vehicles. If Lapis, they will most likely be using wildlife, typically aquatic life. In some rare and extreme cases, an Amarast might be known to tame and mount an animalistic corrupted Gem as a steed of sorts.

Typically however, a company of Amarasts will be equipped with vehicles to work with in the first place.

Treat them as you would a regular Amethyst, but maybe with a slimmer build and preference for ranged weaponry, and hit&run fighting. Also a keen interest in animal taming or vehicles wouldnt hurt.

Fourth are Heart Nyth and Radian Sentrium, the Homeworld cuts of Nyth and Sentrium

As implied by the name, and the lack of functional uses, BUT because of the aesthetic of the cosmetics Heart Nyth and Radian Sentrium are used to make, I have decided that they are essentially a kind of Cheerleader/Standard Bearer for ground forces. They occupy battlefield administration of a sort, while also catering to the morale of occupying/invading forces by using themselves as a resplendent symbol of Homeworld beauty and the beautiful might of the Diamond Empire. They inspire troops and if a civil conflict arises, can serve limited diplomatic roles, negotiating ceasefires, POW needs/transfers, terms of surrender and so on. They are the symbolic face of the Gem warrior armies, representing the will of the empire in war and conquest, until such a time as a Diamond appears to present their will directly, or the Esher Devars appear to take over a new outpost.

I imagine their appearance to be essentially like a pearl, trying to emulate a Diamond aesthetic. Not so uncanny as to appear to be a usurper, but presenting themselves as a living symbol of the diamonds, a sign of what’s to come when you surrender or fall to their armies.

Fifth is Goblite Tears, the Homeworld cut of Goblite

In this instance, I must immediately address the difference between Homeworld Goblite and non-homeworld Goblite, because in the refinement process, Goblite is cut into pieces, into “tears”, whereas the unrefined Goblite is a single piece. As such, this is the first time I would strongly recommend a distinct difference, in that Homeworld Goblites are a small horde of tinkering assistants, much in the vein of pebbles, assisting various gems, in particular crafting/manufacture/maintenance gems such as peridots or bismuths, in their duties.

Unbroken Goblite is a single, ordinary sized Gem, who serves as more of a general, all-purpose handy-man, able to do most things reasonably well but clearly lacking specialization in anything.

Because of the name Goblite, I would say they’re relatively short, maybe close to a ruby or sapphire in size, and relatively grubby, not in the least bit interested in presenting a clean and graceful appearance, they are the type to get “stuck in” and get elbow-deep in all kinds of muck to get the job done. Not especially effective fighters maybe, but their wide range of inherent skills and complete lack of regard for elegance and appearance could make them tricky and unpredictable combatants to deal with, making use of tools and if you’re in their territory, whatever ramshackle home they’ve built can likely be torn apart in interesting and threatening ways.

Unrefined Goblite would essentially take the place of a rebel peridot, but less nerdy and more goblincore

Sixth is Star Crimzian, the Homeworld cut of Crimzian

Star Crimzian is very limited in its uses, and they aren’t particularly interesting, so I don’t have a lot to say on them. Based on what little uses they do have, however, I feel comfortable saying that Star Crimzians are just a specialized sort of Ruby soldier. Instead of general purpose foot-grunts, Star Crimzians are artillery crew. They work in teams to operate homeworld artillery guns in war and particularly in sieging an occupied stronghold, and that’s about it.

Seventh is Marquise Veridos

Despite the name, Marquise Veridos have little in common with Marquise Thyst. Given that the uses for Marquise Veridos have nothing by way of cosmetics and are primarily used to make the Strike or “Blade” of kitbashed melee weapons called “Zaws” in the game, I thought a fitting role for this Gem would be a weapon designer. While Bismuths are clearly the smiths occupied with making functional weapons and tools, Marquise Veridos could be their artisan counterpart, making finely crafted and delicate weapons that serve more as status symbols than actual tools of war. Maybe they even work WITH Bismuths to “pretty up” their tools and weapons, or maybe they work exclusively for overseers crafting artisanal weapons of authority and status.

As such I would imagine their appearance to be a blend of ‘artist’ and ‘blacksmith’ with a keen eye for aesthetic and, depending on how closely they work with a Bismuth, an eye for deadliness.

Seventh are Heart Noctrul and Smooth Phasmin, who I combine into one entry because they have a common theme in their uses.

That shared theme is robotics, where in the game both of these stones are used in making parts of MOAs, which are like robotic bird-things. Essentially a laser gun on a pair of chicken legs is the jist of MOAs (and also an extinct flightless bird from New Zealand)

As such, I would believe Heart Noctrul and Smooth Phasmins to work together often. Smooth Phasmin’s uses are almost entirely on robotics, so they would easily be the robotics engineers overseeing the construction and maintenance of robotic servants, like robonoids or drones or limb enhancers, and so on, while Heart Noctrul shares its list of uses with a fair amount of weapons and even a k-drive piece, which indicates to me that a Heart Noctrul gemsona would be working with a Smooth Phasmin, and trying to figure out ways to weaponize and otherwise modify their robotic creations, being adept at creating and installing all kinds of ranged weapons and mobility enhancements on a phasmin’s constructs.

I would imagine them to both be relatively peridot-like in appearance, though maybe noctruls could be outfitted with a little extra rigging to signify their role as weaponizing a phasmin’s robots.

Now we come to the game’s “vanilla” resources, which are pre-mining update and therefore do not have refined/raw versions, they just are.

So, Eighth is Rubedo

Rubedo is an alchemical reference, typically referring to the penultimate stage of a great work nearing completion.

Based on my own ‘sonas of this stone, I would determine that Rubedos are Ruby commanders. Slightly taller, slightly smarter, and just slightly better in all respects than a typical Ruby, Rubedos serve as commanders, trainers and leaders of Ruby grunts. Because of the alchemical concept referring to a near-complete but unfinished work, I would imagine Rubedos are typically missing a part of the full humanoid form, and that missing piece is where their gemstone is found. My personal Rubedos are both missing their right arm, and their gemstones form the stumps. Consequently, they both possess the power to generate Green Lantern style light-constructs to serve as fill-ins for their missing arms, and I would imagine all Rubedos generally do this.

Ninth is Argon

Although Argon is a real-world element, I don’t know anything about it. In the game however, Argon is found in crystal form, so I count it as a Gem. Argon is also unique in that it is the only resource in the game which deteriorates and disappears over time.

Because of this, and because of the most interesting use for Argon Crystals is to create the Mirage frame, which is a sort of jester/clown, I would imagine Homeworld Argons to be similar. Entertainers and acrobats, loving the attention and spotlight and loving to make people laugh and smile. Physically I think of them as like a pearl, with more curves and a bigger, rounder head, and wearing asymmetrical uniforms and patterns.

Somewhat clownish in nature, I would imagine Argons to also be very private, and secretive. They would be reluctant to talk about themselves or open up to anyone, preferring to have people interact with their public entertainer face.

Because Argon Crystals in the game disappear over time, perhaps Homeworld Argons are very short-lived, or have some flaw which causes them to be effectively mortal, needing to fuel themselves to keep existing and maybe they even age like mortal creatures.

Finally, Tenth is Cryotic

Its ice. It’s a crystal super-ice that freezes anything it touches. It’s an extremely potent contact-coolant. I’m sure I don’t have to come up with much detail on what kind of ‘sona this could be made into.

I imagine them to be like high ranking Sapphire overseers, much like Rubedo for Rubies.

Episode 4 - "Now the fun part begins" ~Colin

We tribe swapped and I was really stressed at first because now im on the tribe that loses all of the challenges. But its fine bcs im friends with everyone now and im in an alliance with Ginny and Amy. I also love Danny he is literally under the influence rn im exposing him. But hopefully when hws sober he remembers how cool i am and we will work together. And Jennifer is on my tribe and we're friendly with each other. But honestly it would be in my best game interests to have her the one voted out. If it comes to that. Bcs Im literally working with everyone and shes pretty inactive.

Welp. Here we are. Swapped. It's a lil fucked up but I saw it coming. So I got stuck with Brayden which is like whatever to me, I'm glad him and I talked enough on original phantoms. But the issue is that it's just him and myself. Along with that its the two S.E.E.S. and one Fool. So I immediately swooped in on Jared, I tried to be relatable with him by talking about Danny and Shaad, who I know, and I think gthat brought him comfort. I spilled to Jared that Danny and Shaad know each other to show him that I have info and I'm willing to be open about stuff and talk with him straight up. We got to talking, and we declared that we want to work together WHICH IS GREAT!! Idk how much I can trust him, but if I show him loyalty and openness I think I'd get it back from him which is clutch. I need him to be the third with Brayden and myself, but I'm sure Jay and Elle are thinking the exact same thing. That's why I swooped in so fast, and I'm sure he'll tell them what they want to hear and theres a chance hes doing that to me as well (and I don't blame him, make your own decisions Jared king), but I need to show him that sticking with me is the better option. Idk idk I'm just trying to avoid playing my idol rn. I'll keep working on Jared, and I'll see what Brayden's been up to. ALSOOO APPARENTLY so Brayden tells me that him and Elle played together (which I knew), but he voted them out so idk how their dynamic is. Lots to think about, I guess now I actually do want to win immunity because I don't feel as secure as I did on original phantoms. But I def have Brayden on my side, and I'm really hoping Jared is truly gonna ride with me. Idols/advantages are also a potential problem here because what if Elle or Jay have one. I hope Brayden is just lying to me and he secretly has something too. I almost told him about mine but I decided against it. Much to think about, much to do, much to win.

It's scavenger hunt but also I am working this weekend :( hate that for me ik me too boo so we'll see how much I can do I remember being upset at myself in prev. seasons because I went too hard in challenges and I feel like in this one I just don't have the time to 😂 the way to get priorities is to get a life apparently lol kidding but also am I??? My tribe is going to council.

At first, I thought I was SCREWED because I got neither Amy, Dennis, or Brayden from my OG tribe for the swap. I barely spoke to Josh, but at least he tries in challenges and we have that going for us. I absolutely adore Colin, he's experienced and he doesn't hide it, but here's a good support system and I see why he goes far in these games. By virtue of me being active, I can hopefully stay alive from this swap. As for the challenge, it's incredibly difficult to do since only the 3 of us are actively doing it, and with 3 slots, it means everyone has to do everything, which is virtually impossible. Shaad complained about his old tribe but a lot of his tribemates' confessionals about him were about him being inactive, and I'm definitely seeing it. Babs hasn't even accepted my message request yet. I absolutely trust Colin and I'm debatable with Josh, but I sure hope that he's not working with Shaad and Babs. But I'm 99% sure that's not the case because even Colin hasn't talked to Babs much and they haven't even been accepting message requests. I absolutely think we're headed to tribal, but honestly, that might be fine because it'll save my other allies in the other tribes. I just hate going to tribal council because it's never fun and it makes me nervous. Every time. But hopefully my social relationships I've made will get me through this swap even if I have to (at last, I guess) go to tribal council.

Okay I think I figured out a lot. I think all the idols are on my tribe. The way Jared and Jay talk to me shows me that theyre smart players and I realllllly think they both have idols. And the three of us are just dancing around that subject. So if we go to tribal, I have to move very cautiously and thats why im trying to get another advantage. I think Jay is going for it too, homeboy messages me in 10 minute intervals. I think I can only afford going to tribal once with this tribe, I'm just hoping we win out especially if all the idols are chilling here I don't want to play it yet. Ima just keep hunting i dont have a lot of thoughts rn.

I'm not sure where I'm at. I feel decent about elle, she has familiarity with me, it should be convenient for her and I to stay together. I do like Jared too...the hope is that he links up with us and we can take out Brayden. Nothing personal against Brayden, but I like Dennis more, and I feel like I can work with Dennis in a merge scenario. If we can get Brayden out whenever we go to tribal, I'll also be put in a scenario at that point where I can either go with Jared and Elle, or maybe Jared and Dennis. Dennis seems very low key and more social than strategic, so he's a good person to play with for a decent amount of time.

Uh idr my last confessional or when it was :( we just did the scavenger hunt challenge and are waiting for results and i really hope we don't have to go to tribal bc what a crappy birthday present that'd be!! IDOLS!!!!! like the three people that got the idols got swapped onto the same tribe like that has to be it. so jared would have to have one, even though he told me he didnt but the way he talked to me about idols in general literally makes me feel like he has one. i was like it would be so nice to have a little bit of security and hes like yeah i know what you mean. like bro just tell me u got a fuckin idol already. so then jay or elle have to have one. and i am convinced jay has one. maybe elle is gonna gag me with her idol but im gonna assume its jay. jared has spoken with him, and i have spoken with him. the three of us feel really good with each other (but im pretty sure jared has me above him bc i got to him first). we'll probs make an alliance chat shortly. i recognize that jared and jay are good at the strategic part of the game and are really smart and just good overall competitors and ESPECIALLY if they have idols that makes them even more dangerous. so i have to work with them than against them i have to make sure that they know i have them above everyone else. i think three strong players naturally gravitated towards eachother and if we really all do have idols its so funny that we're not telling each other. but im slowly but surely working on getting it out of them but if theyre as smart as i think they are they wont tell me. im just gonna continue being "transparent" with them and we'll see where it goes i hope they dont catch on. also jays a fucking liar because we were on a call today and i asked him if he did any hunts. he gave me a pause and then slurred his speech when he said "i haven't done any" like broooooooo ur fuckin lying to me right through your teeth. im convinced hes doing this one because he was up early for some breakfast and his lil skype thing showed online status allllll day like i gotta assume hes doing it. even if he didnt do the first three like hes def doing the last three dont play dumb with me!!!! i am not the one baby. but actually as im writing this hes not online anymore so if he really was doing it maybe he stopped? so if he was up early i would assume he started at 7 or 8 and ending by 9:30 he did 13 or 14 hours? idk im literally going till i cant stay up anymore ive already hit the 12 hours mark now if i went this long i have to go for the w likeee i have to. thats all i got for ya right now dont ever ask me for anything again.

The tribe swap really confused me. I was finally getting the hang of this game but now I'm doubting myself again. I also haven't been active much for the past 2 days and I think my tribe mates have noticed. I need to stay on top of things better if I don't want to (eventually) get voted out.

That this tribe swap screwed me over. It left me with Babs whos been completely inactive and Shaad whos been completely useless. At least I gained an alliance with Jodi and Colin but this is fucking pitiful.

So I had planned on doing hourly milestone activities like calling a friend at 15 hours, eating ice cream at 16 hours etc and I was filming it to vlog the evening for my confessionals.. but my mom called me around 10:55 for a family emergency and when it was done it was 11:01 and my alarm got overridden by the call. That’s how I dropped and I’m really sad 😔 i low key don’t wanna play the game today but I literally have tribal so I have to stay online, even tho I’d still be more active than babs and shaad ☠️ I wanted this one so bad because the only thing I’m good at is not sleeping. Whoever went longer than 15.5 hours is now at the top of my hitlist, if I find out you also tried this hard for an advantage, I will take u out w my army. Even if it’s a superidol. The only good thing from this L is it ignited a huge motivator for me to play this game hard again (but not too hard) but have a goal and mission to complete.

update: i think Amy has it. I'll ask her about it at the merge, she won the 24 hour comp in her last org so it's very possible she gunned this advantage out. if she tells me she has it, then i know I'm absolutely her #1, if not, then we'll see what happens .....

Phantom

Jared: He has done well to place himself firmly in the middle of his tribe. The two sides are definitely going by tribal lines at the moment which makes him the most powerful person on the tribe. Everyone wants to work with him. He will definitely be safe if his tribe has to go to tribal council soon.

Jay: This comes as a surprise, but Jay has bonded well with Jared. So much so that Jared listed Jay as the person he trusts the most currently on his tribe. This gives the S.E.E.S. side a bit more longevity on this tribe which is definitely in Jay’s interest. I can see Jared and Jay forming a tight duo.

Dennis: He is definitely in a better spot than he was on his last tribe. No one on this tribe has explicitly said they distrust or want to target Dennis. He’s playing it safe which is good. He lands himself higher than Elle because Jared seems to trust him more. If the decision was between Dennis and Elle, he would be the one safe. Additionally, he’s also sniffed out that the idols are all on this tribe (which is just a coincidence). However, he believes that Jay has it rather than Elle which is an unfortunate guess from him. However, what is excellent game sense is that he wants to form an alliance with Jay and Jared which could definitely benefit him in the long run when he needs to separate himself from his Phantoms.

Elle: It is sad to see Elle near the bottom, but it doesn’t seem like they have won anyone over with their charm on this tribe. Everyone besides Jay sees Elle as someone expendable if this tribe were to go to two consecutive tribal councils. On the plus side, Elle has an idol. If it comes to that, she may be able to keep herself safe.

Brayden: For some reason, no one except Dennis trusts Brayden. In fact, I would not be surprised if Jared, Jay, and Elle came to the consensus that he should be the one to go out of the two Phantoms. Brayden’s unwillingness to work with Dennis rears its ugly head as, even now, Brayden wants to distance himself from Dennis. He seems to believe that he is good with Jay and Jared when both parties have listed him on the bottom of their trust rankings. If Brayden is not careful, he is going to find himself blindsided and voted out premerge in this game.

Danny: Amy and Anastasia want to keep Danny in spite of their alliance with Ginny. It feels as if both of them want to work closely with him AND want to ditch that alliance. Danny easily has the most control as he has key allies that are willing to go to bat for him if things get messy. I even believe that he would be saved rather than Ginny if this tribe were to go to tribal council consecutively.

Anastasia: Her prior connection with Ginny has instantly landed her in an alliance with Amy despite the fact she doesn’t even know Amy like that. In fact, Anastasia doesn’t even trust Amy that much, but is still willing to work with her and pretend to be allies. Additionally, she has gotten into the good graces of Danny for whom she is trying to work closely with. Anastasia is the most connected with Danny which means she is the safest out of the group. However, Amy sees right through the veneer which means that Anastasia could be labelled as a big threat and be subsequently taken out at the early stages of merge. It was definitely a mistake to inform Amy about their prior connection with Elle.

Amy: What lands Amy here is that Anastasia doesn’t trust her. I was surprised too, but, looking at it, Anastasia would cut Amy over Ginnifer. What puts her above Ginnifer is her activity, however. Hopefully Amy can gain more trust with Danny and Anastasia and be safer in the future. Amy has a good read on Anastasia which keeps her in this position as well. She knows exactly what she needs to do to survive this tribe with the necessary numbers, but can she do it?

Ginnifer: I believe Ginnifer made a misstep by creating an alliance with Anastasia and Amy. At least for Amy, she doesn’t know how to feel considering Ginny never mentioned the alliance and just put them in it. It may have been a bit too presumptuous which leads to hesitation and distrust with the people she wants to ally with. Finally, Danny was also annoyed by Ginny being inactive near the start of the challenge which lowers her overall safety at tribal council

Jennifer: Where is Jennifer San Diego? Her inactivity and unhelpfulness in the challenge makes her the easiest target. There’s not much to say except if she doesn’t pick it up soon and socialize, she will be sitting in the VL.

S.E.E.S.

Jodi: Once again, Jodi has emerged as the tribe leader. Despite being on a plane for the whole day, she has been the most vocal about organizing the challenge. People are very attracted to Jodi’s energy making it easy for her to make allies in any situation she finds herself in. Right now, she has allied with Colin and Josh which easily puts her on the top of this trio alliance. Therefore, she is the safest person on the tribe. She has also been dictating this vote pretty heavily. I fear that Jodi just does not know how to chill though. Her biggest weakness is that she will jump out at anything and try to keep talking when she should just hold back. If she keeps playing the way she is, she will end up as an early jury boot.

Colin: Colin has attached himself to Jodi pretty heavily. I can definitely see this being Colin’s Final 2 rather than any of his allies back on S.E.E.S. The good part about it is that Jodi seems to feel the same way which is great. Additionally, Colin can hide behind Jodi’s massive target at merge.

Josh: Josh does very well in the challenges which keeps him in people’s good graces. His activity definitely helps him survive this tribe as well. He has found himself allied with Jodi out of necessity though. I do not doubt that Colin and Jodi will leave Josh in the dust once merge rolls around and they have their allies back. However, Josh is doing the thing he should be doing at pre-merge: being good at challenges and being active. Anything more would put an unnecessary target on his back at merge.

Babs: Babs is never online and did not even try to help in the challenge. This leaves them low. However, they do still have a Vote Blocker so they can pull some shenanigans if they so choose. Additionally, their inactivity may be used as a shield for now as, at the very least, Jodi is still willing to gtry and get to know Babs.

Shaad: I do not particularly understand why the trio alliance wants to target Shaad. He has a pre-established enemy in Jared and is willing to blow up if he wants to. He could make a great shield in the future, and he would not target these people. However, they believe that Shaad is more useless in the challenges than Babs (despite Babs never being online). And, without any allies on this tribe, there is no one there to vouch for Shaad making his demise seem clear. I hope somehow Shaad can pull himself out, but it does not seem likely.
