I love Ocean's 11 for two reasons and two reasons only 1. Badass heist movie that has every person you need to pull of the heist of the century with no one backstabbing the other And 2. Found family. Two dad's taking their new child to work with grandpa, great-grandpa, the cool Uncle, the tech Uncle, another Uncle, chaotic ass twins, another adopted foreigner child and somehow one of said dads gets back with his ex-wife so now there's a mother among the family

Sexualities of the original Ocean's crew, as decided by me and my partner while watching Ocean's 13:
Danny: Straight, but has fucked Rusty. Liked it well enough, but decided that he wasn't into men. Would still do it again.
Rusty: Bisexual, but in denial. Liked fucking Danny way more than Danny liked fucking him and doesn't know what to do with that information.
Basher: Pansexual. Has never once cared what was in someone's pants, unless it was explosives. And then he was even more excited.
Livingston: Too anxious to have a sexuality. Would pass out if put in a situation where he was expected to have sex. Homoromantic.
Linus: Genuinely does not know. Is trying to have whatever the coolest sexuality is, mostly by copying Danny and Rusty, but is getting signals that he doesn't understand due to the "will fuck men platonically" and "deep repression," respectively.
Frank: Straight. I'm sorry, my guy just has very straight energy. Highly vocal ally though. Dated a lot of girls that turned out to be lesbians and loves hanging out with them.
Yen: Slut. The rest of his sexuality doesn't matter. The most important thing is that this man fucks, and he fucks often.
Turk: Straight, but has somehow only managed to ever date trans women. It's not a fetish and he's genuinely not doing it on purpose.
Virgil: Queer. If it happens, it happens. Will only date people who annoy his brother.
Saul: Straight, but only has gay friends. Lived through the hippie 60s and the AIDS crisis. Threw a Molotov cocktail on Reagan's White House lawn.
Reuben: Are you fucking kidding me? Gay.
Bonuses:
Tess: Demisexual. Will become attracted to both men and women, but she has to know them well first. Does not know this about herself.
Roman: Gay and isn't hiding it, but isn't flaunting it either. He'll tell you if you ask, but you do have to ask. Greco is his ex and the guys at boarding school made a LOT of GrecoRoman jokes.
Benedict: Considers having a sexuality a waste of time and energy. Only gets off as a bodily function like any other and doesn't understand why no one else treats sex this way. Has not considered that not everyone feels this way about sex.

Ocean's Eleven
CONFIDENCE BOOST: Linus Caldwell x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Rusty left the last advice unfinished, seemingly making Linus both nervous and annoyed. Luckily she's there to help.
Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I made while I wrote this short story.
After a message reminded me how obsessed I've been with the Ocean's men, I started to rewatch the movies - and it once again gave me some inspiration, ending my writers block. By the time I'm done with the rewatch, hopefully more stories will come :)
Warnings: only a few swear words, but other than that nothing at all
•••
"Where do you put your hands?" both her and Rusty followed Linus' movements with their eyes as he tried to hold the briefcase with both hands. "No good."
She leaned back on the sofa she was sitting on, realizing this won't be a short conversation. She might as well get herself comfortable and watch as Linus learns - it's as entertaining for her as it is annoying and stressful for him. She might as well lean back and enjoy it as long as it's not her turn to move.
"Don't touch your tie. Look at me." Linus did as he was told so. "Okay, I ask you a question 'you have to think of an answer, where do you look?"
Linus looked down. It wasn't the right move.
"No good." Rusty said and for a moment their eyes met - she tilted her head, trying to silently communicate with him like they learned to do so. Don't be that hard on him - her eyes said. "You look down, they know you're lying..." Linus looked up and she smiled - that wasn't right either. "...and up, they know you don't know the truth."
Linus' eyes settled on Rusty once again as he sighed both from the nerves and slight annoyance.
"Don't use seven words when four'll do. Don't shift your weight," Rusty pointed out after Linus did that. "look always at your mark, but don't stare. Be specific but not memorable, be funny but don't make him laugh. He's gotta like you and then forget you the moment you left his side." Rusty's expression changed as he continued: "And for God's sake, whatever you do, don't - under any circumstances-"
"Russ!" Livingston's voice came suddenly from the other room, making all three of them look that way.
"Yeah?" Rusty shouted back.
"Can you take a look at this?"
"Sure!" and just like that he got up and left the room, leaving the unfinished sentence hanging.
Linus looked after him, not being able to decide if he should speak up or not and seemingly he couldn't decide what to say if he speaks up either. His mind was full of the instructions Rusty told him, trying to process them in the remaining minutes and then also remember all of them.
"Don't do what?" the question finally came out in a mixture of confusion, stress and annoyance.
Linus finally fully turned to look at her and she gave him a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry, he went through that with me on my first heist as well."
"And how did it go?" he sounded hopeful.
"It was Danny's plan, how do you think it went?" she looked up at him, testing, seeing what he'll say, seeing where his trust lies.
"Good?" it sounded more as a question than an answer.
She chuckled as she stood up, walking up to him, seeing if everything about his clothes are alright.
"Great." she answered as she adjusted his tie, straightening it. "I even got a necklace on the way out."
Finally, through the mixture of emotions what fell on him after Danny was put in a corner, Linus gave her a weak smile. She returned it, doing her best to boost his confidence.
He didn't really have a reason to worry or have fears about failure. He was good at what he was doing. He could pickpocket anyone easily, without anyone noticing. She saw it with her own eyes, she was there with Danny when he recruited him. And that last pull with the wallet was fantastic - unnoticeable even by her.
"You have nothing to worry about, really. You've got this." she put hands on his shoulders and his eyes followed her movements through the glasses he wore. "You were doing just fine without Rusty's speech. He gives it to everyone, believe me. This is your first heist with them, they'll give you a speech and test how good you are."
"Test?" he questioned.
"Yeah. Don't be surprised when they suddenly pop up somewhere when you're supposed to be alone. At least that's what they did with me."
She let go of him and took a step back, looking at him once again - he looked good and not just as a rookie who worked for the Nevada Gaming Commision, but as Linus himself. He looked cute, especially with those glasses and that tie. She got used to the striped shirts and jackets, but this was something new altogether. And he made it work.
"Alright, 'you want my advice?" she asked, hoping that he does.
He nodded - maybe a bit too quickly. The glasses almost fell off, he had to straighten them.
"Just don't stress it. I know you're good, I saw it with my own eyes and believe me, you wouldn't be here if Danny thought you weren't skilled." he was very close to blushing at the compliment and she almost grinned at that. "All Rusty tried to help you with was your acting, but the only thing that matters is for you to stay calm and in character. And your character has to be pitiful, someone Benedict could walk over, someone who's young and forgettable. You can't be smarter than him, funnier than him or even braver than him. 'You understand?"
He nodded - she continued. "You've got this, I believe in you."
That seemed to do the trick - or a trick at least. What she said made him blush, it was noticeable this time around and even his glasses couldn't hide it.
She took a step toward him again to adjust his glasses even if they couldn't have been any straighter. She felt like she needed that excuse to be closer to him than she was and to save that image of Linus in those clothes, blushing the best she could.
"And what shouldn't I do?" he asked after he swallowed.
"Oh, just don't leave without an excuse and don't leave unfinished sentences hang in the air. If it's a joke it's fine, it'd fit the guy you're playing, but otherwise it's a no." she let her arms fall beside her body, but she didn't take a step back this time. "So, 'everything clear now?"
"Yeah, thanks." it wasn't more than a whisper, but she heard it.
"No problem. You can come to me anytime."
The conversation died down after that, but neither of them moved. She took those short moments to really take a good look at him, at his expressions - at every corner of his face, no matter how small. She couldn't find a single mistake there, not a scar, not a wrinkle she wouldn't like. Nothing was there what could've made him worried. She found him flawless - she found him a sweetheart and a very cute one.
"You're a sweetheart, you know?" she said, saying what she thought out loud - as she noticed Saul on the hallway behind Linus, probably on his way out. They don't have much time left. "The others aren't. They're either assholes sometimes for jokes or they get sloppy - but you're neither of those."
"You're not like them either."
"Hell no, I'm much younger thank you very much." she said jokingly, making him chuckle and with that his nervousness disappeared.
"Yeah, that too."
"See? You have nothing to worry about. You're too loveable to run into any sorts of trouble." she explained with a loving smile. "And I'll be around too."
The clock was ticking - Linus should get going and she should get ready, but the conversation was too interesting to leave it hanging.
"Yeah, you'll be the best thing around."
"Better than those millions underground?" she asked with a giggle, saying it as a joke and nothing more, but at his answer it was her turn to blush.
"Definitely."
She swallowed - all the before-heist confidence disappeared from her and she was back on square one, where Linus was.
"We'll talk after, right?"
She tilted her head at the question, finding it cute - it still kept the blush on her face.
"Of course. You can buy me a coffee from those millions if you want to."
And he wanted to. She could see it on his face, in his eyes and that thought made her heart flutter.
"Right, you should get going." her voice was weaker than usual.
"Yeah."
"I believe in you, Linus."
They didn't kiss - it wasn't the right moment and it would've been too soon for that. But she kissed his cheek for good luck - making him blush once more - before he left.
It was quick, but meaningful and she looked him in the eyes as she pulled back. See you after the heist.
Right as she was on her way to her room to put on the dress she needed for her role, her heart almost jumped out of her chest when she saw Rusty on the small hallway. She looked at him for a second, and after his expression told her everything she had to know, she continued to move.
But as she walked past him she said: "You had a bet going, didn't you?"
"Forty bucks said you'd make the first move."
She stopped and turned to look at him, she smiled even if she was annoyed a little. But then again who could've expected them to not gamble when they're about to rob a casino?
"Fifty-fifty, right?"
"No, you'll only get thirty percent. It was way too cheesy to listen to."
She took the money and pocketed it quickly.
"What do you think?" she asked.
"Danny knew since the beginning." Rusty aswered, leaving her as he walked away.
She stood there, trying to figure out what gave it away to Danny before she even realised that she found Linus cute.
"It was the wallet." she whispered to herself, nodding. "Yeah, it was definitely the pull with the wallet."

linus' parents intrigue me so much. they're ridiculously rich and powerful people who just let their anxious, sweetheart only child run around with a bunch of gay criminals because they know said criminals are sooo protective of him and yet will also teach him independence and confidence and make him a better person and so they are truly just nonexistent in his life unless he's in True Trouble like do they think danny ocean's gang is a summer camp? and also how linus hates how his family fusses over him and it's implied they're relentless mother hens and yet you never see them and truly Are giving him space. but their relationship is also strained because he only ever pretends he's okay with them but with danny and rusty and rueben and the gang they're close enough with him to tease him, encourage him to grow and are attentive enough to know that he'd been crying for example in 13. like even the rough gruff criminal uncle #14 knows if linus caldwell is sad. and yet he barely talks to his parents and yet they also Vaguely have eyes on him at all times personal safety wise yet are so out of tune with him as a person. it's sooooo fascinating. his home life intrigues me so bad. #rants

Rusty: Linus, can you please tell Danny that I’m mad at him? We’re in the middle of a fight and I don’t want to talk to him.
Linus: You’re literally sitting on his lap.
Rusty: Yes, what’s your point?

Here's part 16:
Tumblr media
She didn’t know what career she wanted. What interviews she should do. Did she need a stylist? Should she use a nutritionist?
She wanted to run away. She wanted things to be simple again. But she couldn’t. She wanted Lou. She wanted to run straight into her arms. This was simple. Choosing Lou was simple. But now everything was so vastly complex.
She had decided to clear her head. To try her hand at shopping as a distraction. A new date night outfit would do her some good. But that was how she learned she had a chauffeur. And that Lou had booked her private time at a selection of shops with pre-selected outfits. And that Linus liked to talk a lot. And help a little too much. And that wasn’t this showroom a bit hot and this dress material was a little thick.
Debbie blinked her eyes slowly—the sound of mechanical beeping filling the air and the weight of something on her shoulder.
She tried to take a deep breath, but her chest felt tight. Her forehead sweaty and her hands clammy as she clenched and unclenched them. The last thing she could remember was that swanky shop that she certainly didn’t belong in, but there she’d been. Ushered into a chair, handed a glass of champagne. An over eager shop assistant pushing out an overflowing clothing rack of expensive looking dresses and smart pantsuits. She remembered wondering if all of this was for her one date night outfit or if she was supposed to be picking out an entire new wardrobe from scratch?
There had been a try on of two or three dresses and Linus had been asking her some responses for canned questions that he could feed to reporters himself without having to bother her and the assistant has been zipping her into a plum colored sheath dress that wasn’t at all her and screamed legal conference more than it did dinner and suddenly she couldn’t breathe, and the zipper was too tight, and then—
“We’ve got to stop meeting like this,” a voice whispered, chuckling quietly.
Debbie let her eyes blink again, searching for the voice. Lou.
The blonde was leaning over her in a velvet suit, much like the one she’d worn on the day they’d met in Debbie’s bookshop, but this time it was blue. Debbie made a mental note to ask whether it was her or her stylist that had managed to find a shade of blue that matched Lou’s eyes exactly. On second guess, Debbie had a sinking feeling that 99% of Lou’s suits would be custom made and that any color was achievable. They’d probably whip her up a matching dress in the same shade if she just casually mentioned it to Linus.
“Debs?” Lou asked, her face drawn with concern as she peered down at Debbie. Debbie looked down at their interlocked hands and realized that she was gripping the life out of Lou’s, blotched with white spots from too much pressure, but Lou barely seemed to mind. The pressure on her arm turned out to be an IV. She floundered around looking at the room. It hardly seemed like any ER she’d ever stepped foot in. “Private suite,” Lou grimaced. “I told Linus you’d be pissed, but they didn’t want the tabloids saying anything and this was the only way we could sneak you in without calling attention to either one of us.”
“Lou,” Debbie breathed, lifting her other hand to stroke the blonde’s cheek.
“You ruined my joke.”
“Kiss me,” Debbie murmured, trying to pull at the other woman as Lou laughed, shaking her head.
“Watch that IV, Ocean,” she grinned. She leaned into Debbie’s space, meeting her lips halfway as she kissed her softly.
“What was the joke?” Debbie asked sleepily.
“That we have to stop meeting each other because one of us is on the ground,” Lou frowned. “Speaking of, is there a habit of you getting wasted on champagne and passing out in dressing rooms that I need to know about or is something going on?”
“Definitely not trying to make this a habit,” Debbie grunted, trying to sit up higher as Lou rushed to help her. “Fuck. Did I ruin your schedule?”
“You’re the only thing on my schedule,” Lou promised, adjusting her pillow before glancing at each of the machines with a look of concentration and then checking Debbie’s forehead with the back of her hand.
“We both know that’s a lie,” Debbie exhaled. “That Linus kid…he’s—he’s a lot. It’s all…a lot.”
“It was too much,” Lou shook her head, squatting next to the bed as Debbie gaped at her. Who the hell made themselves level in a hospital room by crouching in…her eyes scanned the floor for a second…rhinestone encrusted chunky heeled boots? “I threw it all at you all at once and I left you with a puppy to go over it with you. That should’ve been my job. We should’ve done it together. We will do it together. I promise.”
“It’s okay,” Debbie smiled, squeezing Lou’s hand. “I know you’re here for me. It’s just a lot to adjust to and it’s such a weird world. I mean, private wing in the hospital for fainting? I’m more of a smelling salt and a gatorade to heal at home on the couch kind of girl.”
“Linus may have overreacted.”
“Oh god, did he like—call an ambulance?” Debbie groaned. “I can’t even remember—“
“No,” Lou blushed. “But I didn’t help. I sort of tried to carry you here?”
“Lou,” Debbie laughed. “I’m in a private wing to not draw attention, but you tried to carry me here?”
“I wasn’t there for you. It’s my duty to—“
“Your duty?” The brunette raised her eyebrows. “Damn, you’re chivalrous, Miller.”
“Thank you, m’lady,” she grinned. “But luckily, my driver thought better of it, and after following me for a few blocks, helped us settle into the car and drove us here. I even allowed a nurse to escort you in a wheelchair instead of carrying you through the doors. See? Self control.”
“I think we need to evaluate what you deem normal and exercising self control, babe.”
“Just promise me, you won’t go disappearing on me like that. I’m worried about you. And I know it’s a lot. It is. But I can’t lose you. And I want you to be able to talk to me about these things, Deb.”
“I will,” she nodded. “Promise. Honesty. Key. I know. Which, please don’t be offended, but I never really picked out an outfit  and I don’t know if I can handle a whole restaurant or—“
“Honey, I’m already ahead of you,” Lou grinned, motioning to brown paper bags on the other side of the room. “The only decision you need to make right now is wonton or egg drop and egg roll or spring roll.”

dearest ocean’s eleven fandom,
ok picture it, it’s the gang but they’re in Star Wars. Danny is a criminal boss buuuuut the empire hates his guts because y’know thief shit. Rusty is his forbidden love, why forbidden you may ask? Because Rusty is a jedi master, and his padawan is Linus… he’s not that good at it despite his father being one of the greatest. Tess is also a jedi and in a secret relationship with… Princess Isabel! (she’s basically Princess Leia) Turk and Virgil and rebel pilots and they insult the stormtroopers. “Hey, you with the stupid helmet” etc. Yen and Basher are smugglers and occasionally work with Danny. Livingston is an ex empire worker who now works for the rebels. Frank is undercover for the rebels as a stormtrooper. Ruben and Saul are on the jedi council (they know rusty is in love with danny, that’s why he keeps being sent on missions to find him). Terry is Darth Vader. One day Danny rounds them up and takes down the Empire and makes out with Rusty.
