Here's MY thoughts on the love island the game's seasons, for no reason other than I want to:

Also because the majority of the people following me are here for OM! & I want to drag more people down into the litg hell with me :)

Season 1: why is everyone so bitchy for no reason????? Talia & Jake are okay but other than that it's meh... don't really like the art style either

Season 2: Immaculate. Chef's kiss. They hit a high they never reached again. Somehow managed to balance the drama & the found family aspect and created a dynamic where you can actually believe everyone is friends and having fun even if sometimes they try to kill each other. Characters are flawed but generally decent people who are allowed to grow throughout the season. You get the option to make MC a bi gym-bro who can devour an entire cake in one sitting and bench press her partner. There's a reason this got two sequels.

Season 3: It's fine ig. Short and kind of boring. Nothing much happens. AJ is so cute though she almost makes up for it.

Season 4: Honestly a close 2nd favourite. We get a lot of character backstory and like s2 it touches on some serious issues. The season with some of the funniest moments/lines of dialogue - multiple moments where I just laughed out loud. I'm still only half way through it but the "villain" is just straight up mean for no reason and doesn't get any character development like the characters in S2 but makes up for it by having some of the funniest interactions with other characters and I was so sad to see her go. Also the season where I desperately wish MC was allowed to be in an open relationship till the very end and finish off the season in a polycule with every other islander who was in the love "triangle"s of the the season because this was the hardest season to pick a LI - Najuma is just all around amazing, Bruno is sweet & funny, Tom is so pathetic* MC & Thabi's friendship is also the best thing? It's great seeing a platonic relationship that is as loving (if not more so) than the romantic relationships. It's literally:

Season 5: Psychological horror. The producers said 'hey wouldn't it be funny if we torture this woman on national tv' and then committed to the bit. My memories are hazy because even though I only played it earlier this year it upset me so much I did my best to block most of it out but also I'm 100% sure there was actual galighting happening. Don't know why MC stuck around till the end because all she's gonna be able to use the money for is to pay for her therapy. Anyway I think MC should have been allowed to brutally murder everyone, she deserved it <3

Season 6: I liked the concept but I think they should have utilised it more. I'm still right at the very beginning (around ep 9) and I KNOW the general consensus from everyone who has reached the last eps seems to be that Amelia sucks MAJOR ass. But look, this is the first time a game has given me a MC with a canon family member who is also part of the game so in my opinion Amelia could commit war crimes and she's still be the most precious little uwu ever because I'm activating MC's insanely overprotective oblivious to all faults ""big"" sister mode

** youcef, mc & valentina helping tom figure out he likes flowers and pink and tie-dye clothes and makeup and being complimented and called pretty and getting hugs is getting to me okay his parents better watch the show and see their adult son finally discovering himself and what he likes instead of what they think he should like and finally being able to let loose and have fun without worrying about what others think of him and finally being happy and they better get some sense knocked into them OR he should go to therapy and realise that no matter how much he loves his parents their love and regard being so conditional to the point that he's hidden his entire personality and is now so extremely self-conscious of it whenever it does manage to peak out, that he nearly cries on national tv after a practical stranger compliments those hidden bits is not good. Also the man has some of the most insane repressed queer vibes???? What do you mean he sees a canon nonbinary person wearing a floppy hat and is reminded of the floppy hat he loved as a child that his father threw away and replaced with a baseball cap and then when he "lost" the baseball cap his father bought him the exact same one again

*** i was 100% sure i was going to get mc to stick with najuma (dorky mischevious goth who is so so bad at flirting hello!!!?) but i got caught by "sad & shy with serious self-worth issues hidden badly behind an overconfident exterior (who blushes & gets flustered easily because he so rarely receives genuine praise/compliments) experiences postive regard for the first time and loses his shit" for the third fucking time

Edit 4:

Okay but why does Dylan get (rightfully) called out by everyone in S4 for all the bullshit he does to MC from blatantly lying to her to not listening when she says "No" But in S5 when Suresh (admittedly, more subtly) pulls off the same shit no one says anything, even MC's "friends" don't believe her.

In S2 when Luke/Henrik gets a little too forceful after MC says no, he gets called out by MC's partner and immediately apologises

In S4 when Dylan does the whole "stop pretending you don't want me" routine after MC rejects him multiple times, the rest of the islanders band together and basically chase him off the island

In S5 when Suresh pulls literally the same thing from the very first episode itself but none of the other islanders believe MC, and Suresh keeps getting to do this until almost the very end while also managing to constantly play hot & cold with MC and chase away all of MCs other romantic interests

Hello o/ I've recently started playing litg again, I left after 4th mid-season after lame-ass Will coupled with Thabi, I haven't played the 5th season bc I've heard that it's hot garbage, could you please tell me why? I don't mind spoilers, but I haven't found any answers other than that. Thank you a lot!

Ohhhh babe settle in while I relive that dumpster fire, this is going to be a long one…

Anyone who’s played s5 will back me on this, If you were annoyed with Will leaving us for Thabi, I STRONGLY advise you to not even *think* about playing s5.

First let’s start off with MC…she was… not cute. For reference:

And I know that after a few weeks fb gave us more options and all of our MCs either became cuter in our eyes or maybe we all just felt extremely sorry for her because of the horrible experience she was having. Let’s get into that next…

Your MC walks into the villa and immediately is greeted by none other than her super hot, narcissistic, cheating ex, Suresh. Normally I would have to tell you oh I did X route so some of my choices will defer from yours if you pick another choice, but NOPE not in s5! Because we had ZERO choice. For first recoupling whether you want to or not, you are coupled with your ex, Suresh. Then he is fawning over you IMMEDIATELY, he’s jealous, running around after you, trying everything to win you back. And you can choose every single positive interaction saying you want him back too and the game doesn’t care. It literally won’t let you get back with him until the very end. But on the other spectrum, if you don’t want to be with him, he will not leave you alone no matter how much you beg.

As for LI choices, at the start you are given TWO. (I say at the start, but to be honest you’re really only give 2 for the majority of the season) One being Alfie and the other being Dana. Now every season before this and every season after, one of the girls always asks if you are into girls and this determines whether they will have girls grafting you or not. Well your answer doesn’t matter here. You could have said I’m the straightest person on earth and Dana would still hit on you everyday and get sad whenever anyone else showed interest in you. Oh and because there were only two other girls in the villa and one being your bully, dana was also meant to be your best friend and CONSTANTLY let you know that she was. By interrupting any and all conversations you were having, even good ones! You’re about to kiss your LI? Here comes Dana! There’s a lot more to unpack on Dana but I’ll get back to her later, just remember she’s your “best friend” in the villa.

As for the bully I mentioned, every season prior to this it’s been clear that whenever someone was coming after us, it’s because they were jealous that MC was “that girl”, s5 blurred those lines and became full on bullying. First with Kat, who went into full attack mode when MC even breathed in the direction of the two boys she was after. Her first and very brief LI was Alfie, who if MC just hugs garners a feral reaction from Kat screeching at her to leave him alone. And then her second LI, Finn who comes in as the first bombshell and Kat drops everything to be with him. Throughout the season anytime she feels any sort of jealousy she takes it out on MC and MC NEVER fires back!

Then we get two new bullies bombshells, Meera and Arlo. Suresh starts heavily flirting with Arlo, which I’m sorry but wasn’t he just up our asses literally yesterday?? And legit, who wrote this season and thought this was ok?? bc even if I hated my ex it wouldn’t be nice to see him flirting with someone else. Meera comes across like a super nice girl while Arlo becomes our second bully! Yay! Again even if you don’t want to be with Suresh, Arlo acts as if you do. And after a prolonged recoupling Suresh chooses Arlo, Alfie chooses MC and Meera is sent home (more on her later) Now if you wanted to be with him you’re probably thinking wtf Suresh?? And if you don’t you’re probably thinking, finally I’m free!! But NOPE when he couples up with Arlo that’s when he decides he’s going super full on and starts going after MC even harder. He wears the shirt she bought him for an anniversary on a date, he tries/kisses MC in the bedroom (depends on your choice) and just overall is doing everything to win MC back except for being honest and dumping Arlo to be with MC. Well Kat sees the kiss/hug/rejection and still tells the entire villa that you and Suresh were kissing in bed. The whole villa erupts, Alfie/Dana rush off and are super pissed at you, they won’t even let you explain yourself. So then you try to go find Alfie/Dana and you go to the roof terrace only to find Alfie kissing Kat or Dana kissing Eddie (if you’re on her route he’s coupled with Dana but she doesn’t really like him) OH and just a reminder, you have past trauma from when your long term ex CHEATED ON YOU. Alfie/Dana knew about this the whole time and yet STILL kissed someone else. Then Suresh takes this opportunity where you’re at your lowest again to apologize for cheating and tells you have until tonight to decide if you want to be with him or not. The girls also ask that night who you want to be with and your given the choice of Alfie/Suresh and when you go to tell one of them who you want to be with….they’re gone! YUP! They’re off to casa!!

And you might be thinking, after all that drama casa might be a nice break! A few days of freedom from the mess that’s gone down. THINK AGAIN BESTIE! While you’re at casa you get a major surprise! Remember that girl Suresh cheated on you with??? Oh yea the producers decide to drop her into YOUR casa villa. So you have to come face to face with Gabby, the girl that your ex cheated with. Now this was obviously a massive departure from the irl show because they’ve never thrown a girl into the girls villa at casa amor before. And remember your bestie Dana?? Oh yea she gets SUPER hot and bothered by Gabby and decides she wants to bring her back into the villa.. now I know you’re probably thinking wait but what if your on Dana’s route?? Obviously she wouldn’t cheat on MC with Eddie and then bring back the girl that Suresh cheated with!! WELL SHE DID BB!!!

Throughout the season we’ve been given very little detail about Suresh and MCs relationship. We know he cheated, he said it was a one time thing, MC found out about it from a picture on his phone. OH how could I forget!! We also find out that MC was going to propose to Suresh!! The day before he cheated she bought a ring! Well that’s all we knew until gabby says nah we were more than just a one time thing, he had a tooth brush at my place! We dated for months!

So now casa is over and we’re going back, the game doesn’t let us go back single and we have to pick either Nicholas or Johnny to bring back to the villa. Doesn’t matter who you choose they go nuts regardless. So now Gabby is back in the main villa thanks to your “bestie” and Suresh is STRESSING. Because obviously he left out some crucial details! And you would think ok we’re immediately going to talk to him? NOPE we need a fucking girls chat with the new casa girls. Lulu, Suresh’s new girl…Meera is back with alfie and remember that nice girl? Well she’s gone and we now have a full on bitch in her place aka Bully #3. Eddie is sent packing and tells us that whichever guy you like / Dana still really likes you and thought about you the whole time during casa. Cool cool cool but will any of them tell you this?? Nah lol! So you get pulled in the middle of your slumber for a chat with Gabby and Suresh. He tells you in front of Gabby he cheated once but then mc broke up with him and he went to gabby and they dated for 5 months. Full on rebound relationship. He tells them both that he never loved Gabby and that MC is the only one he’s ever loved. Well she’s not having that! Gabby goes full on delulu and basically doesn’t accept what he’s said. Now at the time there was major upset online about Gabby not being romance-able bc in all fairness she was extremely hot. So the game now allows you to romance Gabby and you’d think they’d change SOME of the interactions but NOPE they didn’t. So basically the entire time she’s running after Suresh trying to win him back. So much so that she explodes one day and reveals to everyone that he was going to propose!! Shock and awe all around the villa while everyone looks pitifully at MC.. at this point in the gameplay I think we were all so tired at the sheer embarrassment we were enduring weekly. And then Suresh announces hey that wasn’t for you dummy it was for MC!! Buttttt remember when he found out weeks ago that MC was going to propose??? Why tf didn’t he say anything then?? BECAUSE THAT WOULD MAKE TOO MUCH SENSE. Oh and speaking of making sense… if you’re on Suresh’s route and you somehow survive the weekly torture, I kind of blacked out at the end, but he proposes and MC obviously wins because she should.

I know I left out so much bullying (Nicolas and Eddie) and so much other shit that goes down, but this was getting too long. Bestie if you’re still here, all in all just don’t play it. You’ll have severe ptsd from it. You’re better off reading all of the fanfics the amazing fandom created.

Also Seb ->I wanted to do one guy per season ( I don't consider season 5 and 6 a season and I haven't played season 7 yet). Back to why I didn't add seb, I feel like he has more of an introvert energy as compared to these guys, like he's the more kinda quite funny one, and all the LIs featured in this are the loud funny ones, so I felt that the vibe was a BIT different.

HISSSSS HISSSS NO NO NO ABSOLUTELY THE FUCK NOT

I cannot express to you how much I don’t want Eddie to come back. Let’s put aside for a minute the fact that he is my personal nemesis. Here are the reasons why they shouldn’t do it:

Making an all stars season is a bad idea (if that’s what they are hinting). There are canons and headcanons and players married with their favorite pixels, so you can’t just bring in anyone and say, “yeah they’re single and ready to mingle” when jennie_69_timswaifu has already been happily married with Tim for years. Think of all the broken hearts, fusebox!

It’s lazy. I could forgive bringing back a non-problematic, previously non-romanceable character, but excuse me, that is not the case at all with Eddie because he is very very problematic.

No one from s5 should be coming back. Period. Are you kidding me?? Of all the seasons??? You’re picking on s5????

In fact, s5 doesn’t even exist. Not in my mind, it doesn’t. Ex in the villa who? No, never heard of them🤷‍♀️ ITS NOT REAL IT CANT HURT ME

EDDIE’S ALWAYS BEEN A CREEPER! It’s not like he can change - he just really is like that! He can only exist peacefully in fanfics, where he’s literally just a shell and his personality is completely rewritten by the author (kudos to you lovelies!). Otherwise, his only charm is actually in being amusingly villainous, so they shouldn’t be getting rid of it.

He’s not really all that imo? But of course, that’s just personal preference. Still, I don’t know how can anyone want to get together with someone who’s previously been gaslighting and manipulating his way through? I would like to believe that players have more self-respect than that…

Because I said so.

thoughts and concerns 🧘🏻‍♀️ bia's version

although I thought season 6 was a not-as-bad season (I finished it but won't ever replay it), I agree they could have done much better. I think they had us in the first half and there are some amazing plot twists (like, us almost getting dumped? mwah, perfection) but overall the season relies too much on Amelia and Ozzy, like... legit their only two plot points.

same thing happened in season 5, except that season we only had Suresh plot and everyone hated us.

and I didn't even mention the mess the season is from a queer point of view. making us choose between the gay girls? NASTY BEHAVIOUR. and I just wanted to remind Fusebox, other characters can be on same sex relationships (they gave us Tai and Ciaran and said, never again)

anyways, I miss AJ and Najuma type of girls, who are absolutely nuts over MC since day 1. Fusebox doesn't understand that slow burns only work when there are loyal from day 1 routes to compensate. THAT peaks our interest to try other routes.

plus, choices that matters. if the end is the same for everyone, that's a bit underwhelming. they had the best idea in forever with movie night but because they're too lazy for coding different outcomes, it just felt stupid.

like, you're telling me I kissed every boy I could find and my biggest crime caught on tape was flirting with Ozzy once? Be so for fucking real.

also, challenges that make a difference. remember when once in mean tweets someone said Bobby might be a player and we were shaking on our boots for the rest of the season? islanders commented on that! and the slime challenge that evolved into a fight? now we get to kiss whoever we want during a challenge and no one gives a flying fuck!

I don't think their characters are the problem here. it's everything else. there's no pacing, the relationships are all over the place, challenges don't make sense and there's no plot whatsoever except for the very premise of the season.

ok, we have a sister in the villa, then what?? everything that happens after that just revolves around Amelia! so, Ozzy likes us but what about the other guys? what's happening with them? why every other character that isn't Ozzy or Amelia is on a friendship couple? where's the branching out, for god's sake!

I have little hope for things to change in the future but I do love this silly little game and this silly little community too much to just leave.

tier list that nobody asked for

listen, some of these moments from season 2 live in my head rent free, might as well use them to build a tier list. (if i didn't play the season, which is half of s4, seasons 5 and 6, i'm talking about appearance and looks)

these are the tiers and explanations. normally i wouldn't even put it into context but some of these are... cut deep.

day 10 sex with your LI in the hideaway: we waited and it DID NOT disappoint. whether personality, storyline or looks, or a combination of those, it did not leave us hanging dry.

rahim solving the rubik's cube: SO OVERLOOKED by the fandom (or myself in some cases) and i want more. that's it, that's the tier.

bobby singing during brunch: just like the singing, these people can be endearing but sometimes they're just not for you. you either swear by them or doesn't give a flying fuck.

hope crying and collapsin' on noah: CRINGE, i'm honestly ignoring they ever happened but they insist like a fucking tooth ache or something.

lottie biting noah's ear: "i worship and install chaos for the fun of it". all of these are giving new york telling a random girl to choke on flavor of love JUST BECAUSE.

returning!hannah "i'm a bad girl now.": the tease is badass but the attitude is fucking annoying and insecure. fuck these girls i don't care.

lurik leaving with rocco: they deserved WAY MORE than what was given, because what was given was fucking nothing. they didn't have the time or the personality, and i grieve for these men.

mc and li having sex during nope's argument: just like mc and her li, these people could not give a shit about anything, if the villa explodes or not, they're there to vibe and unapologetically be themselves. they might be the ones lighting the match but... still.

gary talking about a chance with hannah: IT'S GIVING RED NOSE, IT'S GIVING COLORFUL HAIR, IT'S GIVING BIG SHOES. actually you're not even the clown, just the horn. SHUT THE FUCK UP.

the shirt that never was: ah, all the suffering and expectation, just to get to the end and... we were so naive, so innocent, so wide-eyed, gullible, so... hopeful. ((the ones we got at the end? yeah, the payoff was not proportional to the waiting, argue with the wall)).

lottie offering to read tea leaves: I - DON'T - CARE, I REFUSE TO SPEND GEMS OR EVEN LOOK AT MY SCREEN WHILE I VIGOROUSLY TAP THROUGH IT.

chelsea talking about the* other villa: i... we could've done without this. it just... didn't need to exist. it's not even entertaining, just plain weird and misplaced, and i lowkey hate it. fuck all these designs to be honest. and as for the twin... fuck the twin.
