I cannot express to you how much I don’t want Eddie to come back. Let’s put aside for a minute the fact that he is my personal nemesis. Here are the reasons why they shouldn’t do it:

Making an all stars season is a bad idea (if that’s what they are hinting). There are canons and headcanons and players married with their favorite pixels, so you can’t just bring in anyone and say, “yeah they’re single and ready to mingle” when jennie_69_timswaifu has already been happily married with Tim for years. Think of all the broken hearts, fusebox!

It’s lazy. I could forgive bringing back a non-problematic, previously non-romanceable character, but excuse me, that is not the case at all with Eddie because he is very very problematic.

No one from s5 should be coming back. Period. Are you kidding me?? Of all the seasons??? You’re picking on s5????

In fact, s5 doesn’t even exist. Not in my mind, it doesn’t. Ex in the villa who? No, never heard of them🤷‍♀️ ITS NOT REAL IT CANT HURT ME

EDDIE’S ALWAYS BEEN A CREEPER! It’s not like he can change - he just really is like that! He can only exist peacefully in fanfics, where he’s literally just a shell and his personality is completely rewritten by the author (kudos to you lovelies!). Otherwise, his only charm is actually in being amusingly villainous, so they shouldn’t be getting rid of it.

He’s not really all that imo? But of course, that’s just personal preference. Still, I don’t know how can anyone want to get together with someone who’s previously been gaslighting and manipulating his way through? I would like to believe that players have more self-respect than that…

Because I said so.

the cracked case: it's eddie, i mean alex

so i accidentally fell onto something that i wish i could unsee. and like the good friend i am, i dragged everyone with me into this rabbit hole (@rebelrayne , @whatisreggieshortfor & @csmicletters ). and it would be a disservice if i didn't drag the fandom with us too.

so here's how i ended up finding out that stick or twist alex is in fact eddie. all the evidence is under the cut (read at your own risk).

the why i believe alex is eddie rebranded?

so this could be a long discourse, about how i got to this conclusion after playing around with my edits and the islander pics. but that would take too long and i'm an introvert at heart. so, i'll just cut it short and present to you all the evidence.

exhibit a - as many of you pointed out, alex seems to have a different art style. well if you look at his art and at eddie’s art...what do you see? me, well i see a slight change but it's there. it eddie.

exhibit b - now i'm not that handy with the whole piecing together a new islander from existing parts. but remove alex's hair and put eddie's (the eyebrows, eyes and chin) match up. who do you get...eddie.

exhibit c - you know how we get that sneak peek of alex. well, one of his lines says that he'd like to bring his girl back to the farm. you know who also says that, eddie. seriously, go play season 5 and you'll see.

i think fusebox saw that we weren't good with having eddie return and they just said, change the hair and give him a semi-new backstory. we'll call him alex. you know fusebox, they’ll take the feedback and do the bare minimum.

so now that you can't unsee, feel free to do with this what you will. or however, that saying goes. and before i get the whole ‘but this is alex’— i like alex and hope that fusebox didn’t do him dirty.

The next photo showed Dana running her hands through the fiery red hair that belonged to a curvy girl, with quite a few tattoos all over her body. They couldn't see her face, but for a moment Eddie noticed Suresh tensing slightly before shaking his head.

"Wait, what?" Alfie leaned closer and stared at the postcard. "D'you reckon Dana's found her match?"

He looked up and glanced at Eddie. The latter raised an eyebrow inquiringly, "Why are you looking at me? I'm the last person you'll see crying over that photo. I'd be happy to finally get her off my back..."
