ok this is the fist one (still very pleased with colouring here T_T the stage lighting was,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, well yeah as always lmao) and this is the most recent (TBH DKJSKDSDK I WISH MY MOST RECENT POST COULD BE A DIFFERENT ONE THE ONE I WANNA MAKE FOR A MONTH NOW THE ONE ID PUT A LOT MORE EFFORTS IN SO IM A LIL FRUSTRATED i literally just missed giffing but couldnt watch anything new so took an old vid i wanted to gif once I DIDNT EVEN USE MYCOLOURING PSD IT LITERALLY HAS ONLY COUPLE OF LAYERS uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :( but whatever,,, it just kinda doesnt show the difference -_-)

❀ a creation u r really proud of 

well 👁👄👁 there r quite few,,, and the main reason is colouring most of these r comps and i a b s o l u t e l y sucked at comps and esp at making the colouring consistent there lol so lets begin lol  1 (u have no idea how muchi love this set) 2 (i fucking mastered it i wanted to remake it for two years and i finally did!! 60 fps smooth good moments iconic performance iconic hair colour his attitude bruh and ofc the fact that i could do sth with colouring,,,,,, and chose such an unusual colour scheme that i doubted jckdckfdk and it still worked out 🥺) 3 (lol i had this idea written down since 2018 as well and this year i could finally collect all moments i needed and oh boi yeah,,, AND COLOURING I COULD ALMOST yeah almost do sth decent with it there r still couple moments id changed but im pleased) 4 (im so happy whenevr i see this CUZ IT ALL WORKED OUT it was such an impulsive comp i literally only saw couple moments for past few years as well where i could see three of them in one frame and suddenly I WAS LIKE I FUCKING MUST POST THOSE MOMENTS SOMEHOW and im so proud of colouring it looks so well T_T) 5 (the colouring ofc im still :o that i could get rid of that shitty shit dkksjkj AND THE MOMENTS ITSELF?????? AND BLACK SWAN???????? EVERY PERFORMANCE???? HAIR?????? OUTFIT???????? EVRERYHTIGNM???????? HIS FUCKING STARE? FACE??? DONT MAKE ME CONTINUE AAAAAAAAAAA also if im not wrong this set in particular made me start my before/after posts 🥺) 6 (i jujst love everything about it e v e r yt h i n g also i could made ppl believe that jin fr has purple hair here when in reality its brown djhfdhskdf one of blending modes or adjustment layers worked this way lol) 7 (i wont even comment this tried a great tutorial with great beautiful resuls for the first time ever and it worked out so well and i like it so much and the whole yoongi here,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, also love me some borders that add cinematic feels to some gifs or just make them pretty in a dif way just like i did with prev post i mentioned imo lol) OK LAST ONE 8 (I USED A VIDEO OF STARS AND ADDED IT TO THE GIF FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER I FUCKED WITHMASKING FOR 3 HOURS GRRRRRRRR THIS IS SO HUGE FOR ME!!!!! i cant even explain whew IVE NEVER DID ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE SO I WAS REALLY PROUD TOO even tho i fucked masking up on some layers lmao but lets not pay too much attention to it 👀)

ohhhhhhhh i think this one cuz the moments were long i couldnt decide what do i want to include + it ts file so u kno,,, the speed,,, of processing,, + somehow decided to put them all together + fucked with colouring + had to get rid of the logo and as we know japan likes a lot of big braight text around haha and draw hair in moments where logo made it look blurry + had to adjust the order and all that stuff but getting rid of logo was the longest part

10. What was the first gif you ever posted it’s so gross i’m not posting it again and subjecting everyone to that dhsbdf but i recently recreated it here!! 

12. What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever giffed !!!! i’m actually stumped though i gif some seriously random stuff lmao. i wouldn’t say it’s embarrassing but this didn’t rly need to be giffed however it made me laugh a lot lmao .

19. What is your giffing process like A MESS. but i never rly go in-depth so let’s get it. firstly, i prefer to gif .ts files where possible, and for youtube/other video files, i generally don’t gif anything lower than 1080p (720p is pushing it but if i absolutely must, i will). 

then, i will open the file in quicktime player so i can scroll through the video quickly back and forth and look for what moments i like and are the right length. i don’t think anyone else except me notices this, but i will generally never gif a ‘cut’ where it goes from one shot to another. i always stick to one shot per gif. idk why i’m like this, i just am lmao. 

next i put the clip into vapour synth and crop it as needed. i pretty much always use the same settings but change the sharpening as the file requires. at this stage i preview what frames i want and process it (i generally aim for 30-40 frames, and sometimes give myself a bit of extra if i can’t decide exactly where i want it to start and end yet).

move on to ps; import video frames to layers. i work with frame animation rather than timeline bc ps is hard. i’ll adjust the frame delay (most of the time set to 0.06) and throw my psd on top and play around with how light it is/colour balance and VOILA!!! save that bad boy. though tumblr upped the gif size limit, i keep mine below 3mb because i find if you go much higher, tumblr compresses the heck out of it and looks crappy anyway. i keep my workspace like this so i can kinda see how it all looks together before i put it in tumblr (i learnt this from mare ily)

-henlo! there’s 2(3?) main things i do for my gifs to look like they do

-the first thing is: i use Avisynth! You can get that here, you have to read that ask to see how/where to download it. The first video attached shows you how to install the plugins and all that sorts. The second video shows you how to actually use the program~ Just a heads up, it’s a kinda long process to use Avisynth but it really makes a difference!! The first few times you use it it’ll be a bit complicated but once you get the hang of it, it won’t be as hard (but still take some time lol).

-the second thing is: get the highest quality video you can! for youtube videos, I have Free YouTube Downloader installed and I’d recommend that to use instead of websites. For DailyMotion videos, I use the site savevideo.me and you can just follow along with the site to see how to download videos~ You’d have to disable your adblock doe. This doesn’t apply to pd101 as yet but if you want to get good quality for Vapp videos, you can use this site here! You can pick the quality and I think you can pick subtitles too? idr i havent watched a vlive in like 40 years lmao

-anywhooo. the third thing is: finding .ts files! I don’t know anything about these tbh I have like 2 .ts files but if you search on twitter I’m sure you can find a .ts file for almost any video (or not lmao but it won’t hurt to try)~ If you’re looking for PD101 episodes then you’d have to search “ #프로듀스101 .ts” (you’d probably have to search the name for anything in Korean if you want to get a .ts file but idk lol). You’ll also need utorrent to download them so be sure to have that!

For sharpening I don’t use anything special tbh I’M ACTUALLY STILL LEARNING HOW TO MAKE GIFS LMAO i feel so happy that you guys like my gifs!! But other than what I just said, I don’t really do anything special. Just play around with the sharpening to your liking and play around with the colouring too! I think colouring is a bit important cause sometimes the gifs be looking hella washed out lol but i hope this helps!!

mMMM LMAO IM NOT A GIF GOD SINCE I STILL HAVE SO MUCH 2 LEARN BUT IM STILL SMILING A LOT GJAKDJA thats rly cute im v appreciative  … :^) anyways !!! since i use a mac, i had 2 come up w my own process on how to gif live performances since avisynth ? too Slow 4 my old mac and stuff like topaz is too …. me, staring into the sun: maybe not …

buT ANYWAYS hgjsh under the cut is basically how i gif my live performances, i use

a mac

ps cc 17 (i think this will work on other versions ??? im not sure :( )

vlc player (i have version 2.2.2)

ts files of the performance (u need ts files otherwise the quality looks :/ even if it’s a 720p mp4 file,, also dont take performances from youtube u’ll end up w a walmart lookin gif when u want gucci gifs)

okay so first u need to get ts files of your performance and i get mine from _helloflora on twitter or from kpopexciting! since i … only ever gif mx i’m gonna be giffing mx again 4 this and i’ll be giffing shownu as an example from the 170507 performance of beautiful.

so first, load up ur ts file into vlc player and Basically what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna clip the video and get the part that we want !!! i would recommend starting a few seconds before the scene u actually want bc vlc is dumb like that …..

so get ur lil clip (mine is in the movies folder on my laptop bc … idk . it put it there and idk how 2 change it so i just keep it there)

make sure ur vlc is still open bc now u need to convert this little clip into an m4v file so ps can . load it … and basically what u do is u go into file > convert/stream or shift + cmd + s to open up the window. then drag ur clip into the window and on “choose profile” click customize and make sure ‘mp4/mov’ is selected. on the video codec tab, make sure u have ‘h.264′ selected then click apply and close the window and open it again just so u know it’s saved. then click ‘save as file’, save it where ever u want (i have a handy folder called ‘caps’ where i keep all my converted clips) and let it convert. the indicator that it’s converting is the play bar (streaming bar?? the bar)

^ that thing. so you let it convert (dont touch anything i learned this the hard way) and once it’s done, load it into ps! 

i use the video import way so just go to file > import > video files to layers and select your converted clip, then drag the arrows to the clip you want giffed. this part is mostly trial and error to get what you want but i would recommend taking your time with finding the start of the clip and the end of it, also don’t make the space in between ur arrows too big bc then u get too many layers and that for me really slows down my mac :(

(also i literally . broke my own rule abt layers bc i messed up my recording of the clip and i was too lazy 2 do it again but CONTINUING !!!) now u have ur clip opened in ps!! i usually use around 50-60 frames so it doesn’t exceed tumblr’s 3mb limit, but also it depends on the size of your gif. the bigger the gif, the less layers you want. i’m making this test gif 268 x 270px (which is my go to sizing for gifs that i want side by side)

now what you wanna do is go to the little 3 lined bar thing on the timeline

click that and select “select all frames”, then click the timing (the 0.03 numbers) and change it to 0.05! then while all your frames are still selected, click the 3 bar thing and select “flatten frames into layers”. you’ll get two sets of layers now, one titled with “layer 1″ and the other titled with “frame 1″. delete all the layers called “layers”

this is where i crop my gif !! my crop settings are at 268 x 280px, and once it’s cropped i go to image > canvas size and resize the height to 270px. then click the “convert to timeline mode” in the 3 bar menu or as the little icon next to the “forever” setting.

(my timing settings are still at 0,03 bc i was getting ahead of myself jahgkds) but ! u should have this 

now so what u wanna do is select all ur layers/frames (i’m gonna call them layers so we’re not confused w the frames in the timeline) and right click and convert them to smart object! now we’re gonna sharpen them, and i used sharpening actions from @k-psds! i would recommend downloading a couple and just experimenting with which one you like best!

once you’ve applied your action, here comes the coloring part!! i never use psds because each gif usually needs a different way of coloring, but i do have a basic process for performance gifs. i use curves, levels, a tiny bit of brightness (either going down or up depending on the performance) and selective coloring with black, neutral and sometimes red (and depending on the performance, i’ll look into using the other colors)

and that’s basically !!! how i gif performance videos !!!! it seems a little time consuming at first but the more you do it, the easier it becomes :D

SOME TIPS & TRICKS I LEARNED

when giffing performance videos, always go for close ups and clips where they’re not moving so much. it makes cropping so much easier and your gif doesn’t look as grainy

avoid flashing lights !!! it brings down the quality of the gif

use as little adjustment layers as u can! using so many makes the gif grainy (how many times have i said this) and you rly just wanna focus on making the gif bright enough 2 be pretty but not so bright u have idols looking like 2% milk

in selective coloring w the black tab, i usually bring it up to abt +15 or +10. idk why i do it tho someone told me in a tutorial and it’s been part of my process ever since.... makes the gif look nice tho so im not complaining

lastly !!! do a lot of messing around in photoshop !!! u might make a walmart looking gif but in no time ur gonna be making some nice Gucci gifs !!

you make so many gifs and they're really good too! how are you motivated to do that? i can't even bring myself to make one gifset lol.. do you at some point just start treating it as a hobby? maybe i'm just too lazy for it rip

most of the time i take hours to make gifsets if i’m not in a hurry / don’t have a deadline. gifsets like a member + era (like the lay one i did) take me like 2 days to 5 days (they take this long because i need to find ts files of each performance + look for them + gif each scene in each video separately. compilations like the gifs i made for suho’s bday usually take me from 4 days to 1 week lol i’m really NOT motivated or fast… i started taking pills that help me focus and that are supposed to make my memory better too since last week lol so yeah… idk like. these gifs i made for the exordium i only made them because if i didnt, then other people would gif it and that’d make me upset lol the subaek one i made it a HURRY bc i was afraid someone else would gif it before me. the only motivation i have is the need for validation really lol if i didnt live off the need for validation and attention i wouldnt be making gifs and im kinda obsessed with getting validation from this hellsite so its not healthy at all LMAOgiffing in a hurry / when an event is happening / before a deadline SUCKS and that’s what makes me hate giffing and what gives me anxiety and i only do it, again, for validation lol but if im giffing something for fun and bc i wanted to then its not bad. i can take as long as i want to to finish it! though most of the times i gif things as more like a MUST and a NEED than something i enjoy and would like to doand tysm! i try REALLY hard with my gifs lol!!! sorry for the long reply;;

I hate these challenges. I don't like being on camera but when you know half your tribe probably doesn't want to participate, you don't really have a choice. I think we're going to do Trouble - Pink, my suggestion, and I'm super hyped about that because I love Pink. We love feminist icons on a tribe that is like 60% men. There's no way to do an all girls alliance with just me, LA, Karen, and Regan. 60-40 aren't great odds.

nick saying he talked and had a social game when he only started talking 4 hours before tribal because jack warned him he was being voted plus I think queen pippa and Allison will win the redemption comp over nick nick only stayed cause mat summers was inactive lol 

Kage is playing hard really early, but that's good for me. He can be my shield while I stand behind him. Honestly, his reads on the game are useful for gathering information and he seems willing to be my ride-or-die. I find that this is extremely favorable. However, I also want to work with Charlotte and LA. They seem like a good trio for me to attach myself too. I do not want to pick between them so I hope that I can continue working with all three of them as the future progresses. 

Music video challenges are a nightmare. I feel like a mother trying to get her kids ready for school and one kid is in the bathroom taking forever, another won't eat his cheerios, one is still in bed, and the other two have mysteriously vanished. We are losing this challenge. There's no way around it. Which means, we'll have to pick someone who was the least helpful to send to the Oasis. I love rewarding flops. Kage said that he would try to get people to agree to send me which is cool, don't get me wrong, but like - why me? Let's not put a target on my back quite so early, thank you! But on the plus side, I decorated my co-workers desk with Crab!Jordan pictures and that amused me for about 16 minutes.

Well so far the game is going really well for me!! I think I have a lot of loyal allies and I hope we don't go to tribal for the third time in a row because I pretty much want everyone on my tribe to stay in the game as long as possible. At this point in the game I almost want to go to Tribal that’s why I’m not helping with  the video. I want to go to tribal to test our alliance and pick off Regan or Adam. Regan because she is messy af and Adam because he has too many ties with the icons tribe. I hope we flop in this challenge. Also, I told the wrong clue to my alliance so let’s hope that doesn’t backfire. It won’t for this vote anyway and hopefully I get to go back to the Isles Of The Pines so I can retrieve MY idol.

Pippa was voted out, so despite her best efforts she still fell short! However she did win the redemption island duel, so shes still in! Our tribe did the challenge in one day and looking at the criteria I fully expect us to lose. Like 100%. So thats gonna finally cause some ~tension~. Everyone is active on our tribe. But if we go with the alliance of 6 we formed, either Cole or Casey would go. Personally i'd rather we just win and neither goes but someone has to go and its rather shitty.

Going to our first tribal will be rough, but I feel confident in my alliance. I will certainly not be the one going. Jaiden threw out Regan's name and I'm down with that. She seems to have the best chance of getting Pippa out of redemption and having an Senip come back will provide us with numbers.

Hello I just got added to two alliances with regan. One with David and one with gage. And listen I love regan but I cannot be snatcht for being in 10 alliances bc she thinks I get along with all these people 😩. First tribals are suppose to be easy but NOT THIS ONE. I don't know what's happening in this game, i just know I'm suddenly in the middle of two alliances. never never never 480 and i try to stay away from 720 tbh. for performances tho i always get .ts files so they are higher resolution, but for other vids definitely 1080 nd if not 720 is okay sometimes
