Post-totk Wild joining (or rejoining) the chain and eventually they have a water balloon fight but instead of throwing actual water balloons they all throw splash fruit that Wild had collected.
Despite not having joined the fight at first, Time is the one who ends up winning it.

LU Eating Stuff They Shouldn't: Part 3
Part 1, Part 2
Well. It escalated again. I can't stop the Links from doing these things. They're not going to learn. Wild is at his limit and has so much to think about now. Anyway.
Bonus:

Don't worry, they got it back.

Wild disappearing for Totk could be really funny if Hylia just whisked him away, he completed his adventure and then she dropped him back with the group exactly where he left off. Except he now has a new arm.
Literally anyone: Hey Wild have you seen- sweet hylia what happened to your arm??
Wild (choosing violence): wdym what happened to my arm. It's always been like this?

how will you tackle totk in the incredibles 2 span? theoretically, will wild be left alone the entire time totk-turned-incredibles-au happens or will his family somehow be dragged into it, considering hes still (somewhat) a kid?
Hmm, well, until I personally have played at least some of totk, I’m sort of leaving it a little ambiguous because I’d hate to have to retcon things.
But as of now, I’m tentatively saying that he won’t be left alone the entire time that it would happen. But I think he’d be by himself for at least some of the time, and if he does end up losing his arm, that would be while he’s separated from the others.

Our Hero transformed a lot in TotK. At first, he was known as Zelda's knight, but he became much more. People recognize and respect him, and he plays a big role in the kingdom's growth alongside Zelda becoming an active and involved member of his community. This change from being a quiet knight to a lively community leader would really impress Twilight and Warrior. But When it comes to LU Wild, he's yet to achieve these things. His life in the Kingdom still has its challenges that he is trying to tackle. Originally, I wrote Wild to desire growth for his kingdom, much like Terry Town but on a larger scale. Surprisingly, it became quite literal in TotK!
So here's the thing: He's not a character to simply replace; he's dynamic and evolving. His life and journey have significant phases, showing growth and change. If I introduce the ToTK version of Wild in TotK, it disrupts his character development in LU. I've crafted scenes where he learns and grows from various individuals—heroes, princesses, and queens alike. The Princess of the Wild also has her own moments of growth interacting with others. Skipping to their 20s would mean ditching this growth.
I suppose Wild's a lot like Time now. Time, how he's featured in LU, is in the middle of his canon appearances. A little of who he was, and a little of who he will be. Wild too is that middle ground now that he has a trilogy for himself. But what I will say is TotK revealed more of  Wild's unique ability to be resourceful in unconventional ways. I did intentionally limit his usual resources to highlight his uniqueness. Missing an item would break any other Zelda adventure, but for Wild, anything can be a tool. No key? No problem! He’s at his best when circumstances are at their worst because unlike other heroes reliant on specific items, Wild finds a way. But now with TotK, that's his defining trait. The crazy builds in TotK perfectly showcase this…creativity… of his.
TotK definitely gives me a canon trajectory for Wild's (and his princess) goals. All in all I would still like to add some sort of TotK, even if it's small, in LU but as of now I'm still  drawing a blank. I'm not worried about it. An Idea will happen organically if it's meant to be

In totk Link hums different songs from across the LOZ franchise, such as Epona's song, or thr ballad of the windfish. He DOESNT do this in botw
Theory: if totk happens sometime during or post LU, is he singing the songs his brothers taught him to remember them?

Sometime I think about totk taking place after the Linked Universe adventure finishes.
Wild is 17 in LU. I don’t know if it’s official cannon but most works I’ve read have Wild join the chain around two weeks after his official quest ends.
So with that in mind Wild is with the chain at 17.
Totk takes place about 6 years after Botw. Making Wild and Flora around 23.
So let’s say Wild went on his adventure with the chain. Who knows how long it takes 1 year? Three years? Who knows but they all have to part ways when it’s over. Maybe the mailman can run in between timelines still but they can’t.
Wild’s back in his ear helping Flora rebuild. It’s going well and he’s as happy as he can be with out his family.
But then TOTK happens. The story goes as it does and it ends with Flora returned to her Hylian form.
Flora who has traveled to the distance past once. Flora who had 10,000 years + as a dragon to have her powers grow. Flora with a sacred stone of time.
Maybe Flora as she watched over all the prior ears saw some of the Chain and their adventures. Maybe she saw Lullaby and Time’s adventures with the Ocarina. Or maybe once she’s back she works really hard to master her time powers.
Either way she decides to surprise her knight with a trip. A trip through time.
Flora was always a little jealous that Wild got to meet and learn from other hero’s it’s her turn to meet other Zelda’s. She rationalizes trip to Impa this as an opportunity to learn how best to help her kingdom from the Zelda’s who came before. And if Wild gets to reunite with his family well that’s a bonus. (In reality this is the only reason they are going)
What have the others been up to during their time apart?
Has Sky and Sun gotten married?
To Time and Malon have kids yet?
Has Twilight found pieces of the mirror or has he moved on with his life?
What is a grown up Wind like? Has he established New hyrule yet with Tetra?
Does Four still travel or has he settled down and running his own blacksmith shop? What of Shadow?
Has Hyrule found peace or is he still being hunted?
Has Legend finally moved on from Marin (maybe with a certain merchant?) is he still adventuring or has he been able to let go and relax?
What is Warriors life like with no war? How will Cia handle multiple Links and Zelda? Traveling through time?
It’s so fun to think about. You can make it super slice of life where Flora is hang out with the other Zelda’s while the Links reunite. Or you can add a driving problem and plot.
You can make it so only Wild and Flora can move through time. But where’s the fun in that. Obviously not all the Zelda’s can travel but you can bet Sun and Tetra are all over this adventure.
I personally think Flora and Wild’s first stop is the period of Twilight to pick up their wolf.
What do you guys think.

Ok, here’s an LU idea:
Post-TotK, Wild finds that Time is having some trouble with him after hearing what happened, and Wild doesn’t understand why.
TotK spoilers beneath, you have been warned
Time is having trouble with the fact that Wild is mentioning things from his Hyrule.
Wild wakes up disoriented to realize that time has moved without him after he had a near-death encounter with Big Bad Dorf. He’s met with some dude named Rauru and now has a body (part) he doesn’t understand, and it seems like Hyrule doesn’t recognize him. He has to go find and gather the Sages, and receive a vow from them after completing a temple to awaken said Sage. And he has to go inside the Great Deku Tree to kill something that’s plaguing the forest. And it turns out Zelda is secretly a sage. And there’s time shenanigans. And Wild now has Gibdos? And poes?? And Like-Likes??? And FD’s Sword????
Sounds familiar, right?
Whatever happens, Time doesn’t like it because now he’s starting to see too much of himself in Wild, and that scares him because he doesn’t want Wild to go through what he has, and that pushes Time away
Wild doesn’t like that because he thinks the similarities should bring them together (or just because he doesn’t understand why Time isn’t looking him in the eye).
Edit: bonus points if Wild has Time’s hat that mysteriously went missing years ago

To the people saying Wild would be 23 now, I raise you this counterargument:
Imo, the start of Totk happened when Wild was 18-19, and Wild slept through the rest of the five years before waking up in the Temple of Time.
He's physically 123, but mentally still 18.
My reasoning:
1) Wild seems to have been missing in-game for a while. NPCs don't remember him much, and search parties have clearly been in place long enough for things to become routine. The Sheikah had time to set up the whole Zonai research division, which must have taken ages.
2) Wild looks physically the same as he did in BotW. His body/hair haven't grown in these five years because he was asleep for most of it.
3) Added trauma for Wild sleeping through important events; a very Link thing to do but taken to a more angsty level.
4) The LU age balance is maintained, which maintains the character relationships. I think Wild really fits as, for example, Twilight's chaotic younger brother, and although he's matured a bit, it would be weird to have that dynamic overturned.
Anyways, these are just my thoughts from planning stuff for my own humble spinoff. Feel free to headcanon as you wish :)

LoZ: LU - The Chain in the Depths
I just had a thought. How would the Links react to the Depths?
Like, my theory is that it's actually what remains of old Hyrule from before BotW/TotK.
By that, I mean that the Deku Tree did what he said that he would in WW by using trees to reconnect the islands, which is what makes it possible for the Era of the Wild to be at the end of all 3 timelines. This is supported by how there are so many massive roots all over the place. As well as the fact that the map inside the Forgotten Temple shows that there'd been more water in Central Hyrule during Rauru's time.
But, specifically, how would the rest of the Chain react to the sheer amount of Poe Souls, the Shadow Soldiers, whether they all can see the Poe Souls & Shadow Soldiers (because, remember, apparently not everyone can according to a Yiga journal & the only entities to really make mention of the Poe Souls are the Bargainers), the Bargainers themselves, seeing the Heart Island with the green poe & the pink poe, & the Blupee Burrow?
Not to mention the implication that at least some of the Poe Souls belonged to people who died during the Calamity based on the Ancient Underground Fortress in Akkala. Also, how the triple stone mounds seem to correlate with monuments meant to honor & remember soldiers who died fighting the Calamity. All being at what appeared to be places where great battles took place.
I remember a fic suggesting that the Poe Souls were the souls of people who'd died excavating the Zonaite for the Zonai. However, the thing is that while I could see that being the case for a few of them, I don't think that's the whole story.
I think that the Depths are something of a liminal space where the dead of Hyrule just gather before moving on & that it has become a reflection of the Surface. "As above, so below" & all that. This is supported by, as mentioned before, the state of the Ancient Underground Fortress in Akkala.
This liminality can be partially attributed to having been saturated with magical water for millennia before the Zonai drained it.
And the "as above, so below" phenomenon could be due to the fact that in the Downfall & Child Timelines, Hyrule was lower in elevation while the Hyrule that the Deku Tree would've recreated would obviously have been at a much higher elevation. And when whatever it was that supposedly merged the 3 timelines back together (*cough*War of Ages*cough*) took place, plus the land beneath being saturated with magic, could've intrinsically linked the Surface with the Depths in a way that one simply doesn't see anywhere else. (Not that this is the case, but it's a possibility, I believe.)
And if this is the case, then it'd still allow for landmarks from previous games to appear on the Surface.
It's also possible that what actually fasilitated the merge in the first place was that the War of Ages allowed for things from all 3 timelines to also exist in the other 2, which may have allowed them all to create an inevitable outcome: The Era of the Wild. And once all 3 had a major enough event in common, it allowed for the merge to solidify. (But that's honestly little more than hairbrained speculation on my part.)
However, if this is the case, then it's possible that Ganondorf returning in the Adult Timeline could've simply been a very convenient excuse to cause the Great Flood which would've been a linchpin in allowing for the merge to happen at all.
Hell, it's even possible that had this perceived merge not taken place, then perhaps there wouldn't have been an Era of the Wild. Or a Wild, for that matter.
Also something to note is that we don't know how the Depths looked before the Zonai arrived, nor do we know how they looked during Rauru's reign.
Either way, I'd very much like to see someone go into this. Possibly even with Spirit in the Chain.
There's theories that he'd have what amounts to the Mind's Eye unlocked from birth. And I personally hc that the Spirit Train is used to transport the souls of the dead to the afterlife in New Hyrule, so if no one else, I def think that he'd be able to see them all. Possibly even better than Wild.
May even be able to talk to them & the Shadow Soldiers. Or just hear their final wishes if nothing else.
Fudge... imagine Wild learning that one of those Shadow Soldiers was the shade of his father desperately trying to do whatever he can to help his son... Aaaangst...
Tumblr media
I believe this is concept art of them.
And imagine the shame of still not remembering him or the sister he once had.
Or, if he does end up getting his memories of them back & breaks down at the realization that he'd failed them. Obviously, it wasn't his fault, but let's be real here. Wild would absolutely take it that way. And imagine how much Wind would try to sympathize with him, but Wild might not appreciate it because Wind, at the very least, had been able to save his sister. Wild had failed his. (I know that it's implied that Wild's family had lived in the Hateno House.
And imagine the shock & fragile hope of learning that last his father knew, his sister was still alive & that this meant Wild might have nieces & nephews.
And now suddenly he feels so very small & strangely desperate to have just one more connection to the life he once had. Because he might not have been the same man as he was & he may even be happier now, but that does not mean that his old life was bereft of joy & love.
Perhaps, he wants a little bit of that love back. Even if only in second-hand stories of the family he hadn't quite realized until this exact moment that he lost.
Just one more thing that the Calamity pilfered from his grasp.
Or perhaps she's still alive, just incredibly old & weak & unable to even get out of bed anymore.
I also hc that FD is the Hyrulean god of death (among other things) & that the Bargainer's Statues are basically very early depictions of him.
That he created the Sheikah, who were tasked with helping the dead to move on & were once the ones who brought the Poe Souls to the Bargainer Statues in the Depths, specifically those who've trained their mind's eye. However, that has obviously changed.
Something else that I'm not sure I've seen. Time & Wind interacting with Wild's Deku Tree.
If anyone has info on the timeline & the order of the Links, it'd be him.

I know this has been done before but here’s my headcanons for LU Chronic illness/Disability boys:
Legend(he/they): Hypermobile type Ehlers Danlos syndrome. Frequently dislocates joints and doesn’t see why the others make such a big deal about it, it happens all the time! Primarily suffers from widespread join pain, instability and chronic fatigue. Has as many different mobility aids as they have magical artifacts.
Time(he/him?): Early onset osteoarthritis and partially blind. All of the time travel and shifting forms was not kind to his joints, so the connective tissue was damaged and BOOM. Arthritis. The old man jokes are becoming less and less of a joke every day. Also experiences debilitating migraines.
Hyrule(they/he): Sensory Processing Disorder (often associated with autism but can be caused by other conditions). Their magic sensitivity can often cause overstimulation in their other senses, and they are very sensitive to light, sound, smell and touch. They are semi-verbal because even his own voice can overstimulate him sometimes, but they don’t know sign very well. Also has anemia.
Wild(genderfluid he/she/they): hypertrophic contractural scarring, partially deaf, semi-verbal because of vocal cord scarring. Also prosthetic arm(set after TOTK). She switches between sign and speaking, whichever is easiest for him that day. They have to perform daily stretches and apply scar lotion to be functional, but they aren’t very good at remembering to do so. Often blows out his voice because he gets excited, but can’t tell how loud he is speaking.
Four(plural they/them): Dissociative Identity Disorder(but not really because of magical reasons), damaged growth plates because of Minish magic. They have very similar symptoms to DID, but there are slight differences because it was caused magically and traumatically, not like in the real world. They sometimes struggle to walk correctly because their growth plates are damaged, causing their legs to be slightly different lengths. They wear adaptive shoes to correct this.
Sky(he/him): POTS(Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), chronic fatigue. He struggles to breathe the denser air on the Surface, but he struggled with it on Skyloft as well. He has a chronically higher heart rate that causes dizziness and (rarely) passing out when moving from sitting to standing, after eating, and after adrenaline rushes. This causes his stamina to be fairly low, and also causes chronic fatigue.
Twilight(he/him): RRMS(Relapse/Remission Multiple Sclerosis). This is caused magically by the Twilight curse eating away at his body’s nerves, but is kept mostly under control by his shadow crystal. Occasionally, he goes through relapses and experiences anything from tingling and numbness in a limb to temporary loss of vision in one or both eyes, balance issues, vertigo and slurred speech. These flares are almost always debilitating, but thankfully they only happen every couple of months and last from a few days to about a week.
Wind(he/him?): A little cliche, but he has a peg leg. He likes to tell outlandish stories about it getting bit off by a kraken or eaten by a cannibal, but the truth is that he got an infection, couldn’t treat it in time and had to amputate. This happened sometime after his quests had finished, and he’s still a little ashamed of the actual circumstances, so he doesn’t open up often.
(edit) I FORGOT WARRIORS
Warriors(he/him): Speaking Disfluency (Stutter). Often repeats sounds, such as “G-g-g-guys”, or extends sounds; “Llllllll-Iove you”. He grew up poor, so he was never able to get treatment for it, so he communicates using sign while Proxi translates verbally, though this isn’t as necessary with the Chain since most of them know sign.

The outfits in totk hold so much potential for shenanigans
Didn’t realize I disappeared for like a month, my bad. However, that month has given me time to have more thoughts I can share! Actually, I have had this thought before, I just don’t recall if I shared it. If I did, though, that’s not my problem!
Let’s assume for the sake of this thought that Wild met the chain, got pulled away for totk, and is back now, and let’s also ignore all the potential angst that goes with that situation—at least for now.
Anyways, he’s back and with a bunch of new outfits yeah? So one time, after a really messy fight, Wild needs to switch outfits, but it’s not like the frostbite set or one of those extra special outfits really fits the location.
So. Having made no mention of having these outfits ever before. Wild pulls out, let’s say, Sky’s outfit to wear until their usual clothes are clean.
Just the thought of Wild having gone elsewhere to change and then making his reappearance wearing Sky’s outfit. Wild having to explain how he got it. Wild making an off hand mention during the explanation that he has some of the others’ outfits too.
One thing leads to another, and Wild is left explaining it why the Fierce Deity set, Midna’s helmet, Sheik’s mask, etc. are in their possession.
And that there is where my thought came to an end, put to a stop by the headache I have! Enjoy, I’ll try not to take another month to have a thought this time

Wind and wild can now start a « killed ganondorf by stabbing him in the head » club
Haha yes I suppose they can 😂 as epic as that dragon duel was, I think Wind’s kill shot was more epic, personally. But they can commiserate over it in AUs where totk happened before LU 😂👍🏻

totk meets LU ideas that plague me (spoilers for totk. vague spoilers, but spoilers all the same.)
Wild is returned to his own time mid-LU for totk.
Wild is called back to the chain immediately after completing the Dragon Tears questline. Everyone's glad to see him, though with increasing concern when they get a closer look. He's older. His arm. Legend doesn't know why there are tears in Wild's eyes. Wild demands Sky let him see the master sword and of course Sky passes it to him. The angst and confusion when Wild asks it to send him back. When, how far, why, what has happened?
Any of the chain being warped to the Depths, dealing with THE HORRORS and/or coming into contact with gloom, and reuniting with Wild, dressed in costume and piloting some insane vehicle. Sunny rice porridge picnic in the Depths.
Wild explaining how much time has passed for him since he's left them, his arm, Zelda, the gloom.
Wild being hit by the gloom and losing his hearts and stamina at the start of totk having some kind of effect on him beyond his arm. What if Rauru wasn't able to remove all of the corruption? Does Wild have constant fatigue from the gloom sickness? Is it like Ashitaka's curse in Princess Mononoke and it's killing him slowly. He's dying, but there is some hope in that collecting all the Lights of Blessing will purify him or at least give him more time. It would put the pressure of a time limit on the story similar to Majora's Mask.
Time being warped to Korok Forest before Wild's helped them and seeing the Deku Tree and children of the forest like that.
Hyrule running from gloom spawn. There's already so much symbolism around this lad and the color red, hands, and the eyes of ganon. It's a perfect fit for stories with him. (meanwhile Wind points and starts swearing about Floor Masters xD)
The chain move through a portal in Sky's era to Wild's, bringing along Sky's lofting with them. They step from a sky island surround by blues skies to red. (end of totk maybe??? There was a meet-Wild fic where the chain witness Wild's battle with Dark Beast that was fantastic (though I don't remember what it's called,,,) A similar fic for totk would be fun.)
Wild and Legend trying to make sense of the timeline and giving up on finding a conclusion. If the Imprisoning War (totk) happened somewhere in the timeline of the earlier games, and Legend learns he's been fighting a projection all this time and the source of the evil is tucked somewhere deep beneath Hyrule, out of reach, he'd go mad. Knowing Hyrule had to fight ganon after him is bad enough. Knowing that what he's fought hasn't been the true source of the evil the entire time, and it's still out there? Yeah, no. He'd never be able to rest if he acknowledged this. If the Imprisoning War (totk) happens way down the line on the kind of separate conjoined timeline botw has, then it's not Legend's problem. Still, it could be interesting if he's having a bad time trying to make sense of it all.

I want to make a LU comic, but tbh i am HORRIBLE at drawing consistently, so before i start doing it I’m practicing drawing the characters and trying to get used to the style i want to use for them.
The ones I drew for this one are hyrule, wars, and twilight respectively and a random fairy in a bottle.
The comic I’m making I want to be about the chain being sucked into the plot of TOTK; since wild was apart of the chain before totk, I thought I would be cool to see how the chain deals with fighting Gannon together.
I was thinking that the links get separated across time and the space of wilds hyrule, and have to work together to kill Gannon.
I don’t know entirely what to do, but I feel it would be a comic on the surreal-melancholy route? Not entirely sure how to describe it.
Any way, I want to know, what do you think would happen in that situation?
Also 👉👈🥺 got any other things for me to draw to practice the chain?

Any really weird or funny things in the LoZ games you think deserve attention in LU fics?
Oh, a bunch. Where to start?
Firstly: they should play more minigames. Especially dancing. Weird that the Gorons moved on to wrestling as their main sport by Twilight's era; frankly that's a downgrade. Legend and Time should remind them what tradition looks like.
And some minigames are just... ridiculously dangerous? They would make GREAT crack fics. Any myths of Sky being normal and well-adjusted would crack under the weight of that game where you get shot out of a cannon and then skydive down to slam your face into a giant roulette wheel. Or that game from Labrynna (Legend) where this Goron throws a whole heap of bombs at you to see if you can dodge them. Only slightly safer than a similar game involving cuccos.
And on the more serious side of lore that I think is under-explored: the Royal Family has a daaaark side. In a lot of ways, really, which are HINTED at in the games, but rarely actually detailed. For example, it's mentioned in Twilight Princess that the Royal Family have been exploiting the Twilight Realm since LONG before the Twilight Realm started fighting back. And in TotK's ancient Hyrule, we never did find out what happened with the rest of the Zonai, or how exactly Rauru ended up in charge of things.
Ocarina of Time has the darkest portrayal of the Royal Family - even though Zelda is the only member of that family that you ever actually see (the king is somewhere offscreen at the time you meet her). Although everything seems fine and normal at first - notwithstanding the giant war that happened before the start of the game and which left Hyrule Field SWARMING with undead - you eventually come across Bottom of the Well and the Shadow Temple, which uhh... don't paint the Royal Family or Sheikah in a particularly nice light.
And then there's Zelda II's background lore from the game booklet, which says that a king from long ago created the monsters that guard the Palaces:
Tumblr media
Are we just going to skip past the fact that the King can create monsters?? That feels important! When and how did he learn to do that? Does that have anything to do with how Dead Hand and Bongo Bongo came into existence? Or anything to do with BotW's Guardians, WW's Tower of the Gods, SS's Lanayru facility or the transformative shadow magic in TP? Possibly not, but it's fun to think about. Teehee conspiracy brain go brr.
There should be more spooky scary horror fics, maybe. Maybe I should write this. (It's vaguely included as a plotpoint in my longfic, but I am SLOW right now.)
