So uh...I talk about this in a note at the end of this chapter, but finding out that there’s going to be an official book about Lucien’s backstory is going to complicate things. As a writer, my constant fear is that someone is going to see a detail I got wrong and call me out on it, especially in fanfics for something with extensive canon source material like Critical Role. Knowing that Lucien’s official story is coming out and people will find this fic for the first time after they’ve read that book and they’ll be like “This author got Lucien’s backstory all wrong!” has been a massive blow. I’m going to try to write this story to completion, but it’s now an uphill struggle for me. Please be patient.

Oh, and Lucien turns into a dragon in this chapter.
