I now want a fic where real Santa’s elf!Kurt gets drunk and vents to Blaine about all the woes of working for Santa. He’s over 100 years old and the outfits are terrible. Why couldn’t they wear clothes like the elves did in that one movie? Drunk elf Kurt has no idea he’s venting to Santa’s son.
Bonus if he wakes up and realizes he just had a drunken one night stand. He isn’t sure who it was with. Only that he’s naked, the guy in the bed beside him is naked and showing off a really great ass. Then said guy turns over and after Kurt’s done staring at his dick, he looks at the guy’s face and realizes who it is.

Controversial take: AO3 is an archive, not a social media site. If you have no intention of keeping your fics up after you leave a fandom and are just going to delete them, maybe you should post them only to social media and not use up bandwidth on AO3.
You've already put your words out into the world. Other people have already read them, and likely downloaded them. They are no longer only your own. You cannot make them disappear from the world, so why are you trying?
Orphan your works, don't delete them.

You know those straight guys who seem really nice and awesome, but then complain about their female friends "friendzoning" them? As if being nice to a woman entitles you to her affection and her body? As if her agency, her own desires, ultimately don't matter that much?
So they're "nice" guys, but they're not actually kind or generous?
Marcus in Young Royals is the gay version of that.
He seems great at first. Just the kind of guy that Simon needs around him. Someone who's easygoing, who likes him, who supports him, who's uncomplicated and open and doesn't require much work.

Since I'm seeing anti-voting posts on my dash again, and Tumblr is even *recommending* them to me, let's be clear about this--
Voting is one of the most basic tools for participating in American government and policy. It is not perfect, but it is there.
The people who say that change is possible without voting, that protecting minority interests is possible without voting, rarely lay out a course for how those things could be accomplished.
Sometimes, they make vague promises that "activism" and "pushing for change" is what is needed instead of voting. This makes no sense. Engaging with elected officials is an inherent part of activism. Voting is a way of engaging with elected officials. Voting is activism.
No, some say. Not that kind of activism.
Okay, then what kind of activism?
Historically, the only way to accomplish change without voting is through physical force, i.e. warfare.
That's right. Warfare. Like the Civil War, or I guess what we will soon be calling Civil War I.

I was thinking about a conversation I had with a fellow writer a while back and I think it might also apply to fandom.
He was upset because his partner did not read much of his fiction. His partner was supportive of his writing in every other way--supporting his need to have space to write, asking questions about it, being a listening ear during brainstorming, encouraging him to make friends with other writers, etc. He (the partner) had never said anything belittling, discouraging, or negative about my colleague's writing.
But he didn't read much of it. The writer I was talking to wrote sci-fi, and his partner didn't read sci-fi. In fact, he (the partner) was not a big reader of fiction at all.
I told this colleague of mine something that I had decided about my own relationships: my friends, lovers, acquaintances, relatives, etc., have no obligation to be my fans. I met almost all of them outside of the context of writing. Our relationships are built on those things: common history, common non-writing interests, common social circles, common humanity. They didn't decide they liked me or wanted to hang out with me because of what I wrote. And I didn't decide to hang out with them because I thought they would read my stuff.

I wish there was a way to block "cute animal videos" that are actually depicting mistreatment of animals. People physically manipulating pets to do things that they clearly do not want to be doing is not cute. People provoking irritation so that their cat or dog makes the funny sound they make when they are irritated is not cute. People making pets of wild animals is not cute.

So I can't sleep and I saw @theshamelesshussy say they don't mind reading about what I think so gonna use that as an excuse haha 🙈🙈
Not gonna lie boybands was my thing growing up.. yeah I'm old! Hahaha I was one of those girls that was part of the eternal battle of BSB vs *NSync hahaha ... and okay I was a BSB gal haha, watching MTV's TRL.. that's Total Request Live for my young people who are probably wondering... just to see who was #1 after calling and being mad when my boys weren't #1... not wanting to even hear anything by the other boys cause my boys were the best hahahaha man just good innocent times, also good times when there was actual music videos on MTV.
So, yes I totally am 100% down with Darren joining *NSync if they ever did a tour/reunion or whatever haha. Yes like I said I was a BSB fan but like most I grew up and I now can honestly say yes *NSync was a good boyband (oh my teenage self is mad and giving me the stink eye haha) but I also gotta say I think.. again this is my personal opinion... I think BSB had the better songs but *NSync had better dances. But I've gone off track haha sorry!
So if, if!! They do, do it, yes Darren would be great because just like Lance said he's good with harmonies but not as him replacing Justin. If they do it, JC should be the one replacing Justin cause to me JC always had the better voice. Look, I'm not saying Justin is a bad singer, he's a good singer and a great entertainer but JC should have been the lead... again that's just my opinion. But yeah hearing Lance say that made me happy and I can so see it in my head and yeah Darren would have a blast! And it would be so much fun watching him have fun and it would be so fun to have the boys out there singing together again, I know Lance and Joey have done some stuff with AJ & Nick and I think Lance, Joey & Chris did something together... I haven't kept up with with any of that but I know is been the rare ocasion that 4 out of the 5 have sang together so yeah it would be great to have them back together and doing it more than 1 time. Cause I gotta say is that *NSync fans deserve that. I mean BSB is still around doing their thing and yeah I think *NSync fans deserve to have that too.
*** Gotta add... I always read the tags 🙈 so I gotta say @lucy8675309 thanks cause now I can't get out of my head him with blond ramen noodle hair 🤣🤣🤣

Did you ever finish watching Fringe? What did you think about it?
I'm in the middle of season 4 (@lucy8675309 and I watch it on weekend that I don't have to work ... or not stuck in crazy ice storms so it's slow going), and oh, Pam, I love it so much. I love the characters and their relationships and how their dynamics change through out. I love how tightly it's written, how every episode adds something to the last. I love the twists. The science is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous and the medicine part is even worse (the injections with needles! The vitals displayed!), and I don't even care. The episodes where they nod back to the X-Files are some of my favorite, but really, there hasn't been an episode yet that I haven't enjoyed.
I'm apparently at the point when people gradually stopped watching, leading them to cancel the last half of the 5th season, and I'm so sad about that, because it's still so good. It deserved to have a full season to wrap things up.
I'm torn between wanting to finish so I can finally track down the gifs and the fanfic and just submerge myself into the fandom side of them, and I also don't ever want it to end.
