100) Maciej Dobrowolski, Łukasz Kowalski “Uwolnić Maćka” - 15 lutego miała miejsce długo oczekiwana premiera 185 stronicowej (+ czarno-białe zdjęcia) książki Macieja Dobrowolskiego i Łukasza Kowalskiego. Historię czytałem z zapartym tchem, niemal na jeden raz. Jest to opowieść od dnia aresztowania do dnia wypuszczenia, najgłośniejszego przez jakiś czas więźnia III RP. Najciekawsze oczywiście są anegdoty z więzień, czyli to, co kibic Legii chciał zachować na kartkach z 40 miesięcy swojej odsiadki. To jak zapamiętał kolejne zakłady karne i warunki w nich panujące. Podejrzewam, że spokojnie mógłby napisać kilka tomów… Niestety. Prócz Dobrowolskiego, relacjonuje również Łukasz Kowalski – on opowiada historię z perspektywy prowadzenia słynnej akcji „#UwolnicMacka”, od zewnątrz. Ten dwugłos sprawia, że bardzo szybko się czyta – oczywiście nie zawsze jest się przy tym w dobrym nastroju…Początek i finał tej historii jest powszechnie znany. Ale książka dużo odkrywa, jest ciekawiej niż w wywiadach po wyjściu Maćka na wolność. Refleksje więzienne, sporo o prywatnym życiu i zakończeniu narzeczeństwa… Mocne słowa. Mimo wszystko czasem jest zabawnie – zadbano o szczyptę humoru. Książka jeszcze raz podkreśla laikom, bo kibol wie o tym dobrze, że ludzie funkcjonujący jako oficjalne służby mundurowe Systemu nie mają czegoś takiego jak sumienie. Wątpić można również w posiadanie przez nich mózgu, bo przecież kibole, a także więźniowie, są różni – nie jest więc tak, że swoją ignorancją dają pstryczka jakimś zwyrodnialcom. Mimo to – ludzie są traktowani jak bydło, jak zwierzęta pozbawione podstawowych praw. „#UwolnićMaćka” powinna być masowo czytana przez osoby z zewnątrz klimatów ulicznych, niech wczują się w sytuację… i wreszcie inaczej, krytycznie spojrzą na wiadomości z pasków informacyjnych największych stacji, na konferencje rzeczników prasowych Systemu. Pozytywne zachowanie mundurowego jest opisane bodajże tylko jedno – pod koniec. Reszta to dno…No i ten cwel – Hanior. Sytuacja Maćka mogłaby być iskrą służącą do przyjrzenia się „świadkowi koronnemu” w Polsce. Frajer, który okradał staruszki żyjący na dobrym poziomie za hajs podatników, tylko dlatego, że wymyśla bajki na ludzi. Maciek pisał, że chciało mu się rzygać, gdy ujrzał Haniora w sądzie – o tak, jest to wyjątkowo paskudna postać… Pod koniec książki Maciek podkreśla, że wielu cały czas siedzi – wielu, którzy są pomówieni w jeszcze bardziej nieprawdopodobny sposób. Język książki jest przystępny, nie dłuży się, a wręcz przeciwnie – chciałbyś jeszcze więcej czytać o rozmowach pod celą. Spodziewałem się mniej, byłem po lekturze pozytywnie zaskoczony (oczywiście, jak wspomniałem, nastroje po poznaniu pewnych kulisów nie były pozytywne…). Pozycja z gatunku obowiązkowych! Lista punktów sprzedaży jest spora, wybierz jakąś dla siebie i szykuj się na szybki, intensywny zastrzyk kibolskiej lektury. Fuck The System.  A.C.A.B. - Łukasz Grower.

SPIRALALALA – singing architecture

During MDF Festival we’ve changed the iconic spiral staircase of the Szczecin Philharmonic into 35m long / 15m high spatial voice-transforming instrument.

The audience has been invited to experiment with various spatialised sound effects applied to their vocalisations that were synchronised with the movement of the balls falling along 35m long track. The interaction starts with insertion of the ball into the microphone. Then recording starts and after the recorded sound stops the ball is released to slide down along the track.

Thanks to custom built gates with infrared sensors and radio modules the sound transformations applied to the recording were synchronised with the current speed and position of the ball. The light trail following the ball has also been created thanks to the sensors and microcontrollers measuring the speed of the ball passing the gates.

Since we were using five speakers – one per floor, we were also able to achieve spatialisation of the sound creating the illusion of the sound “falling” with the ball. As a finishing touch we’ve also used simple projection mapping synchronised with the motion of the ball to make the whole thing more visible for the people standing in the lobby of the Philharmonic.

In the end we’ve created a playful and engaging audience-driven audiovisual performance that exemplifies our vision for integrating new media art practice with architecture and breathing the life into static form thanks to digital technology.

The Wall of Sound - a collaborative sampler/sequencer in public space from ◥ panGenerator on Vimeo.

The Wall of Sound is an interactive audiovisual installation created by panGenerator group and commissioned by Katowice Street Art 2019: Urban Sound.

The installation is an experiment in bringing the tools for creating electronic music - sampler / sequencer - into the public space and thus creating an open platform for music expression suited for broad audience. The spatial form corresponds with graffiti art but few more layers are introduced - interaction, light and sound. The main component of the setup - hexagonal node module - allows you to record and play back the sound. Thanks to the numerous links between the nodes virtually endless variations of the sequences consisting of the peoples voices are possible. The open dialogue with the audience brings the installation to life, saturates it with meaning and allows it to evolve day by day constantly bringing new voices and new sequences into the mix.
