"will shouldn't use a gun in season five because his father probably taught him how to use one and that could be a bad reminder for him" have you considered that will using what was very likely a Bad experience to save his life in what is undoubtedly an even worse experience could be a good thing? have you considered that him using a skill he was forced to learn to save not only himself but (as is likely more important and meaningful to him) the lives of others could give him a sense of usefulness and safety knowing that he isn't defenseless and can stand his and others' ground if need be? especially considering that's a skill that we've only seen hopper and nancy possess, making it that much more valuable and himself more helpful to the group? after everything in s1 and s2, he's probably felt guilty for having endangered them and dozens of other people multiple times, i don't think it'd be out there for him to feel "happy" that he can finally return the favor and protect them for once (especially after having complained about being babied and treated like a doll).

"will doesn't have and shouldn't have powers because that makes him different and he doesn't want to be different" not only are you wrong lol <3 but how have you not noticed that will's entire thing since the very beginning is that he is different and he knows it and while he does get his heart broken over the fact that this means he faces constant unfairness in life, he still refuses to be any other way? will doesn't conform nor does he ever try to even when others try to force or shame him to. he gets frustrated and upset at being treated differently, yes, but he stays true to himself. to battle that feeling he sometimes gets that tells him he's a mistake, a feeling he gets not from his own otherness but from living in a world that Makes it an otherness and thus isolates him for it, he seeks out that which he loves and enjoys and throws himself wholeheartedly at it. will lives his truth and is willing to suffer the consequences for it. he refuses to live in darkness and let it take a hold of him. he holds on to hope and all that makes him feel better for being different. he holds on to art, to dnd, to video games, to his family and his friends, and everything that brings him joy and reminds him that it's okay to be different. in s1 joyce defends will ("he's missing is what he is") and jonathan tells him he shouldn't like things that other people (namely their homophobic dad) try to force him to like, that he should like what he genuinely likes. in s2 jonathan gives will the freak speech and tells him that no one normal ever accomplished anything and mentions bowie. in s3, he doesn't get a speech, (though joyce does tell him that when he falls in love he won't find it gross [avoiding the word girlfriend and leaving it neutral]) but he does face backlash from someone that IS trying to conform and IS shaming will for not letting go of "childish" things aka his interests, what's important to him, and what he wants. does will back down or shy away in shame? no. instead, he lets mike sit in his shame for having said something that hurtful, and he says "yeah. i guess i did. i really did." clearly this is a conversation about what makes will different aka his sexuality bc he goes and destroys castle byers (the safe place he and his brother built once their homophobic dad left which is a place will can be himself unapologetically) with what is likely a bat that lonnie gave him when trying to get him into baseball. he calls himself stupid and donates his dnd books, but i don't see this as an act of conformity (he tells mike as much, suggesting he'll just use his books + if he was ashamed he wouldn't have painted the party as their dnd characters and given it to him of all people lol). he felt stupid because he thought they'd always be crazy together, that they were of the same mind and heart still, and that they had the same brand of "otherness" if you catch my drift. then in s4 we get jonathan's tender "you're my brother and there is nothing absolutely nothing that will ever change that" which is the most direct anyone has ever been about that which makes will different. and he doesn't shy away from it! he doesn't deny it, because we can see from his confession and how he breaks down that he's desperately been wanting and needing to hear that. he accepts that love and allows himself to be held and seen by someone else, as he has every other time. because will doesn't hate being different, he just hates that he has to live in a world where that's seen as wrong and thus makes him feel like he doesn't belong because of it. but he doesn't change himself. he doesn't feel ashamed of it. he doesn't see it as a flaw in himself or others and he never has. will is different and he knows it and he wouldn't have it any other way.

will's story since the beginning has been about being different and going through awful things, and managing to not only find the light in it but also make it out stronger because of it all. it's always been about using what makes him different as a good thing and as something he uses to save himself and others.

will being good with a gun bought him time with whatever kidnapped him. will knowing how to run and hide kept him alive in the upside down. will acted as a spy while possessed and managed not only to save hopper but also tell them how to finish this. will's experiences and senses helped them figure out what was happening in season three. will's love and loyalty inspires mike and manages to bring him to a better place even if just for a moment in the van, and again he's the one that knows vecna's current state, aaaand had he been in hawkins at the time it likely would've gone a lot better because as dustin said "we need will".

taking something awful and turning it into a good thing and a source of strength is a wonderful trope. it's inspiring and empowering not only for the character but for those that could use that hope and reminder that there's always a silver lining, that life isn't all darkness and shadows and hurt. not only that, but it's something that they've literally always done for will since the very beginning. he is the prime character for that. his entire message has always been that it's okay to be different and that you can find strength and peace in that; that the things that make you different aren't a detriment, they're precisely what make you strong. like... i'm sorry, but have you not been paying attention at all whatsoever this entire time or... :/

A/N:I have no IDEA how long this took for me finish because I’ve been teasing this series for a couple months with the only two teasers I mentioned of Hyunjin. Anyways! This is the prologue enjoy this unfiltered, unedited, there will be hella grammar mistakes and I don’t plan to edit it because it’s too much work and I honestly just want to post ASAP. It’s been far too long since I’ve written and had any sort of inspo to write. Thanks to my dear mutual @nirvanawrites111 she gave me hella inspo with her amazing works!! As a result of unsuccessful relationships and partners being concerned about where she went or what she was doing, she became more secretive about her whereabouts. Even though she wanted to be honest and open with them, she hesitated on many occasions; if she were to be bold and unapologetic they would go insane and ask questions like, "Why did you choose this job out of all the others?", "Are you cheating on me?", etc.

Those tiresome scenarios were one of the reasons she was always the one that broke it off with them, and so she took it upon herself to take a break from her dating life to focus on herself.

How did it feel to publish a fic here for the first time? I would really like to start writing bsd×reader, but I feel very nervous, I don't understand the app much.

Oh anon, my first fic was Mushitaro x reader, it was a vomit of 7k words just because I needed some smut for him. At the time I was also highly unaware of how the app works, I didn't know how to add "read more", my first ever ask was telling me that I should add that because it's annoying to scroll over massive works LOL

For me personally, I just enjoyed to share the love for Mushitaro. I wasn't expecting anything from it, I had no clue about stuff. I barely knew how to tag properly, I just copy pasted, added tags and posted it. Unedited, unseparated, absolutely with no thoughts in my head LMAO

Heads up, all I speak for is for mobile :)

However, you learn as you go. I want you to know that you don't need a perfect aesthetic and those things are always managable later. When it comes to a fic itself - make sure to have either CW/TW, summary or what a fic contains so people know what they are getting into. You add :readmore: + enter to add that separator I mentioned - I usually do it after the name of the fic, some people do it after first paragraph or so. Some people's works are shorter so there is no need for that.

Second, make sure to use normal font because some people don't see well. It's okay to use smaller fonts if your followers/readers don't mind - you can always check their preference! Some people enjoy the smaller font for aesthetic purposes, however practicality wise - it may be hard to read for some people. Don't be afraid to ask! Also, keeping regular font is perfectly fine :)

Third thing, tags. Tags are right there, you can always see how people tag. Example - you write Dazai. Tags: dazai x reader (enter), dazai osamu x reader (enter), dazai x reader (fluff - if it's fluff) (enter), dazai osamu smut (enter), bsd x reader (enter), etc!

As for more aesthetic things such as colorful separators - there are accounts that post them! I am not entirely sure how you make one yourself, but there are tutorials. You can always go on those accouts, download a separator as a photo (add it through a photo option and place it where you need it by holding it and dragging to that place) and tag the account at the end/beginning for credits! :)

Fonts - they are on bottom left. You can just keep the cursor line in the paragraph/sentence/line you want certain font at and click. However, if you want to do this or this or this or this - you hold a word you want it for and you will see the little panel come up where you can choose. It you want it in a sentence/paragraph - select all and choose the font you want! :) This also applies to colors! On PC/laptop you can add more colors through web, but on the phone it's not avaliable :/

Make sure to separate paragraphs so it's more readable. You can use one or two enters between paragraphs - whatever works for you!

As for some other things - if you reply asks, you can add tags such as #yourname/nickname answers or anything else. Some people use different things! It's okay to get creative.

If your moot/someone whose name you know sends an ask - you can use specific tag for that person. I use "my sweet xyz", some people use different things. Some people don't use tags at all! It's all down to a personal preference :)

Lastly, don't be afraid! We all learn as we go, we are all humans. Mistakes happen and it's normal to have a period of trial and error. If simpler approach works for you - amazing! There is nothing wrong with that. If you prefer more aesthetic/harder work approach - amazing! There is nothing wrong with that either :)

If this is something you desire, trust me, people will enjoy your works! Other things we can always help each other with, nobody is born knowing everything. If anyone is mean about a certain thing - oh well. You will learn and it will be perfectly fine. Just go for it, I am sure you will do an incredible job. Don't stress yourself, share your thoughts and talent, enjoy yourself!

I promise it's won't be as nearly bad as you make it in your head. Quite the opposite - I am sure it will be amazing. Your writing and practical skills about the app will evolve and grow. Don't expect perfection from yourself on the first try, and trust me, even when you know you made a mistake at some point - it will just be a reason more to be proud because you came so far.

So, I encourage you to start it, take it easy and don't overstress. If your wish is to write and post - do it, everything else will come as you go. I promise it will be much better than you expected and people are so sweet, someone will always help you if you need it, I promise :)

Oh boy, probably should have gotten this out for the ol’ worldbuilding wednesday, but...here’s a big one!  An elemental system for Rixile!

The tl;dr is that the group of ten is split into two separate main groups, creating five dichotomies!

The dark star is “chaos,” and the light star is “order.”  Each element represents a specific categorical role in the cycle of elements, with the ones directly across each other on the opposite star acting as the "poles.”

I enjoyed integrating order/chaos this way, because I’m starting to really dislike how it’s the new version of “good vs. evil” in things.  BOTH are productive and useful to have in a world’s magical systems!!  They’re not objectively good or evil!  The gods of Rixile represent more “balance” or “harmony” this way.

I typed up a formal introduction of the system and its related concepts at Toyhouse, which you can read here.

Below the cut is further elaboration on the creation of this Double Pentagram Chart specifically, and things I would like to do in the future with this system.  It will make more sense if you read that TH post, but admittedly it’s mostly me being excited about possibilities, where before there weren’t many.

This is something I had been chasing for a LONG time...sort of a holy grail of worldbuilding for the setting.  I never mentioned such a “system” before, because, well.  I just.  Didn’t have one.  If I wanted to incorporate one, I wanted it to be interesting at the very least, so if I couldn’t manage that, I just wouldn’t bother.

In my various revisions of Rixile there’s all sorts of silly charts I attempted to make, but I often followed Pokemon-esque principles of rock-paper-scissors strengths and weaknesses, but it felt very...phoned in to do it that way, and I could never make the circle include all 10 in a way that felt right.

Here’s one from 2008, for example:

Also, hey, including Light and Darkness in your elemental system actually sucks, because they’re SUCH a dichotomy that it’s hard to integrate them with anything else.  This is probably why every mobile game with elemental RPG mechanics out there just has light/darkness counter each other all alone, because it’s a hassle...

BUT LATE IN 2021...THE IDEAS CAME TO ME.  Thank you FFXIV Shadowbringers.  By embracing a dichotomy structure for EVERYTHING, I don’t have to worry about rock-paper-scissors at all, which I think is a good way to start attacking this.  I don’t necessarily WANT a system of strengths and weaknesses...more just...Interactions?

For Rixile proper, opposing elements interacting creates dangerous conditions such as disasters, and may explain things like demons.  I wrote another TH post about how including EVERYTHING as “elementally aligned” works in Rixile thinking, as well as an attempt to include like, fairly modern real-world science within this magical framework regardless.  I don’t want “magic” and “science” to fight in this world, either.  Like order and chaos, both work in tandem to create a further unified whole. 

If we take the elements as introducing harmony, then I guess Rixile’s big dichotomy is harmony vs disharmony, which is not the same thing as order vs chaos.  Lmao.  I guess it could be seen that way, because “disharmony” in Rixilian terms means disease, disasters, haywire magic, etc...but “chaos” in Rixilian terms means “natural fluctuations.”  Natural vs unnatural?  Hmmm.

Well, whatever the case, I feel comfortable about how this turned out.  I think I should also mention, mostly because I can’t think of where else to put this in the post, that you could consider the gods as “elementals” for the setting.  It’s just that, being purely one element is also a quality of divinity here.  Everything else is a mix.

Back to the chart, I love that it’s a shape!!  A cool shape!  I think having some sort of cool-ass graph for your magic system opens up a lot of possibilities simply by connecting lines.

But also, it’s kind of where I fall short...because I can see other places this layout can go, such as:

But...I’m not sure what these mean.  All I’ve figured out so far are the opposites and their relationships.  Which, admittedly, is largely helped by there being rivalries in the pantheon in the first place...the only one that didn’t really exist before is Volt/Phyll.  (even now, it’s not really a “rivalry,” they just don’t really vibe with each other.)

So for this, I guess it could be complimentary forces?  The “warm” elements of fire/earth/light are up there as a trio, with “cold” metal/dark/ice below...There does seem to be a kind of progression to the perimeter, similar to what I think I was going for with my old 2008 draft, but I haven’t figured out what it exactly means in worldbuilding terms yet.  But I would like to integrate it!  You have Terra/Volt/Galvan all in a line there, SURELY it means SOMETHING.

I think leaning on the five categories I gave the elements would help me come up with something, like how they’d interact in terms of the “cycle,” or whatnot.  Much to think about.

The final geometry I can see in the double pentagram...

I guess I’d call this “triads”?  Trios within their singular side of order/chaos.  The previous two relationships involved a chaos one and an order one, so I feel like this would have to emphasize how it’s only one side.  But what, again...dunno.  I love how Nocturne/Ignus/Mist is one of the triangles, though.  It’s perfect!!

And that’s part of the magic of making this, for me...seeing interesting relationships potentially manifest through mere proximity.  I might not have ideas for the full system, but the basics have been planted, and I’m interested to see what it could produce for the setting in the future.

Aahhhhh, the Limbus Company sprite character art looks really good, Mod Aleph! You have the heavy outer lineart and varying sizes of inner line art plus back the shading down pat.

You matched the sinners uniform colors quite well although I now wonder what your EGO stripe suit style and base EGO weapon would be. Got any hints to what they could be? Or what kinda backstory your self-insert would have to join Limbus Company B?

Oh and of course, we just HAVE to wonder what your designated hex color and name plus your sinner number wuld be. The eyes and hair colors are really good looking for both the sprite and possible color name, they're colorful enough to stand out from the crowd of sinners if you put them into a battle plus unique enough that the shade of the sea green hair and dark pink eyes makes it easy to differentiate from Faust's pink or Honglu's turquiose colors.

Does Mod Finn have their own Limbus Company OC too?

Tumblr isn't allowing me to reblog the cmi chapter, and I wanted to share my thoughts there but I'll do it here😭

First of all I'm so mesmerized by your writing every single time, you are truly one of a kind. Yes it was super long but this is my fav couple and I'm so rooting for them, sometimes screaming at the screen so they both fricking let each other in and trust each other fully, and that's never easy but I'll scream and shout until they're both truly happy. It was a mixture of hurt, love and fun all in this chapter, the birthday gift was the absolute sweetest and the highlight for me was the painting, jungkook is so sweet and it's makes me believe in him as much as I do in oc. Thank you for this wonderful read<3 (excuse my mistakes)

Tbh in always afraid that people will think I have horrible reading comprahntion when they see my horribale spelling but I understand language just fine but letters confuse me and I can't type well bcuz mobility so I make stupid mistakes like mixing up words but I never react overblown I ask clfarifactio questions so I'm so confused why people who do actually fully have bad rewading comprehension (ty autocorrect) react so badly?? It's so mean when they do it, it's not that hard to be nice and admit mistake so why r they like that???

Honestly its so arrogant. I've actually got a lot off issues with reading and writing despite also being super good at those (love being nd lmao dhsbnsn) and like. I know that so I put in the extra effort, yknow? There's so much I dont post and I dont say cus I am simply not sure I am comprehending properly and expressing myself in a way that actually gets my point across. Sometimes ill have a reply in drafts for days and keep coming back to it cus I want to be sure I got it right.

Like it can be tough but its possible to not be an ass about it. Wading in kicking off about the worst faith reading you could possibly have come up with is entirely avoidable, and you can always apologise if u mess up. But ppl are arrogant and honestly a lot of ppl online are just looking for enemies

Usually when I make a character I assign them a sound, which I think is pretty common for most creators. Dusk's sound is The Crane Wives and Florence + The Machine. She'd probably enjoy the Doom soundtrack (she even plays Doom Eternal inside her mask) but she likes just about everything, from country to classical.

Heres where it get's long, I still don't know how to do a read more on mobile.

As for the second part, she uh... doesn't even do Overlord justice by killing him. I mean, she meant to when she locked him up in ice, but he survived. She chose a cruel way to kill someone, that's for damn sure. Shortly after this she gets her karma and ends up locked up in the brig of the Harbinger for reasons I won't say quite yet. But that's how she wound up on Earth.

We'll skip forward a few hundred thousand years so I can actually get to answer the second part lmao ANYWAY jumping post-predacons rising, Cybertron is reborn, she's tried to adjust and it's not working. There are bounties on her head and theres an enormous power vaccuum after Megatron deserted the cause so of course Decepticon High Command + Duskice are targets.

But Duskice's history of previously deserting the cause herself + rubbing shoulders with Autobots comes to bite her in the ass. Conveniently, her name has finally reached the top of the DJD's kill list.

They find her once again hiding out on Earth and she and Tarn face off in single combat, with the victor claiming the DJD. She's still relatively fresh off an attempt to kill Megatron at this point, so you can imagine the sort of frustration she's feeling.

So we know how the 1v1 ends, and we know she makes the mistake of antagonizing the remaining DJD with Tarn's head. The Peaceful Tyranny hardly makes out of Earth's orbit before the mutiny is under way, and she's actually quite proud of them for trying to avenge him. Unfortunately, this resistance does not work in her favor and so she does what a P6 does best.

Only Nickel is spared.

The Peaceful Tyranny is then used to jump to Cybertron where she turns herself in and that's about how she ends up on the Alchemore.

❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?

ohhhh god there's a lot. I often come back to A Little Grace, and Some Elegance for the iconic exchanges between Cullen and Samson in that fic. Here's a bit where they discuss Cullen's relationship with Meredith that always hits me right in the feels:

“What if I told you Meredith saved my life?”

“Ha, sure she did. When?”

“When I first got to Kirkwall. You recall what I was like.” Cullen grimaced. It was a chore to think of himself back then. “If it wasn’t for Meredith, I don’t know what would have happened to me. Without her mentorship…”

“Nah, kid. You’re remembering it wrong. All she cared about was blind obedience.” Samson sat up. “I was there. You chased her approval, but you were always fair with people — mages, templars, whoever. I seen too many knights decide cruelty was the only way to get in good with her. You never did that. ’S the only reason I ever bothered with you, to be honest.” He pointed a decisive finger at Cullen. “Meredith didn’t save you. You saved yourself.”

💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?

I really, really wish Anders hadn't acted alone in the Chantry attack. I get why he did, and I get what the narrative was trying to say with it. But that motivation feels typical for the post-9/11 concept of a lone wolf terrorist that was a popular media narrative at the time.

Having studied war, political conflict, sectarian violence, all of the things that Dragon Age emulates in its fictional plot lines, I just don't buy it. "Lone wolves" very rarely actually are lone wolves. Fervent belief is not enough to mobilize someone to violence. Especially not something as large scale as the Chantry explosion. That shit takes planning, coordination, a lot of moving parts.

Also, they're usually getting paid. They usually have a group they're a part of, a network.

Or, if they're not, they're innocent, and law enforcement is parading around someone random or adjacent to the real criminals just to prove how tough on crime they are.

All this is stuff I have seen in my IRL work. To call it frustrating is putting it very, very mildly. That is why I don't like seeing these erroneous concepts perpetuated in fiction, either.

I think it would have made far more sense that Anders was working with a rebel mage cell and they were the ones to set up the Chantry attack. Like, sure, maybe Anders was leading the charge, but he didn't do it entirely by himself. That seems believable to me – it stands to reason there'd be plenty of sympathizers around. And IDK, maybe that was originally what was scripted but the devs ran out of time and couldn't implement.

But it would make his story a bit more compelling than the old, tired, circular "lone wolf" angle – the one in which terrorists' motives are all but inscrutable anyway, so why bother trying to figure out why they did what they did?

I do suspect the writers realized their mistake after the fact, and that's why so little of what Anders does at the end of DA2 factors into Inquisition. I'm sure that's frustrating for some fans, but it was a relief to me. Inquisition asks bigger questions, and has a better sense of institutions, the root causes of war, how once united fronts can fracture and factionalize. All that is extremely true to history and to how real world conflicts shake out.

LMAO, I mean. It's Cullen's lack of volume control, isn't it? That in most situations he has no inside voice and that may or may not be due to hearing loss from his proximity to the Kirkwall Chantry explosion?

And maybe also the fact that Pravin and Thom Rainier once high-fived at an orgy in Orlais.

○    rp pet peeves / dealbreakers: a pet peeve is def godmodding & metagaming, but it doesnt happen as much as it used to in circa 2011. I’ve only really had it happen once or twice but it’s just... grrrr. As for dealbreakers, ooc drama and bullying is a hard no for me. I’ve been bullied out of rpgs and had people I love and adore be bullied off the site for mistakes they made in the past. People forget that this is supposed to be a fun and creative outlet and instead let their petty childish grudges get the best of them and it’s sad that no one is allowed to learn from their mistakes and it always just turns into a witch hunt

○    fluff, angst, or smut: I do have to say I prefer angst & fluff over smut, esp since most of my muses have horror elements interwoven in them in some shape or form. I’ve written smut (shivers) in the past but when it comes to the hankypanky for my muses i tend to prefer fade to black or just alluding to it. i’m asexual so personally its hard for me to have muse for smutty things but its just a personal preference so that we are all comfy and i’m not giving you half-assed replies!

○    plots or memes: I love both!! But if I had to pick one, I’d say memes honestly. I love improv and rolling with the punches, since it’s a.) fun and b.) a good exercise for getting into muse mindset. I love brainstorming plots though, so both are entirely welcome!

○    best time to write: my answer’s gonna be confusing but i usually write at night, in bed on mobile and then format, queue, and/or post them in the mornings when I can proofread & fluff as necessary. but the bare bones of most replies are done at nighttime when i’m half asleep lol

○    are you like your muse(s): yes and no. some muses have a lot more elements of me than others, but I would honestly say there are parts of me in every muse I write. Even the ones that are nothing like me, I use people and experiences I’ve had to try and make them more believable! Since I write so many different types of characters I really try hard to make sure they’re each distinctive and not just copy & paste muses

We do a little forgetting how Tumblr works but we always remember in the end, look at us go 🥳 I feel like I didn't grasp exactly how top tier and chaotic George's sot pov was until I saw the dash later, first place overall points whos surprised that's our streamer. I heard Hbomb reviewed his performance but I haven't checked it yet because I want to watch another pov (grians) myself but let me know your thoughts! I think George was in the chat for this one I love that he caught it live. I remember Quackity said the day after MCC when he was over at George's he was asking him to go for a walk but George convinced him to wait and watch MCC reviews 😭 he's just like us fr.

Definitely a bit more distance in the Georgebur dynamic but I do hope this on-screen interaction is the set-up for more between them. Wilbur did invite him to be in the next mv at the end but for the price of a Lamborghini I don't know how set in stone that is. I agree it was definitely a chill team, despite the others interacting much more together it worked. It was so funny, George really told Sneeg do your wedding right next time hm? Also there was a point where George said "yeah I've been wondering why I wasn't invited ever since I heard about it" and I genuinely thought he was going to continue and say he only heard of his wedding in that same conversation 😭 I too would very much enjoy Sneeg sticking his nose under the steps where Sapnap and George pour their heart and soul out to each other, just as Jack Manifold did that one time. Yeah I genuinely thing it'll be near impossible to beat what MCC12 green guardians had going on ;-; That was actually the first MCC I ever watched live but I watched Tommy pov I fumbled so hard. Yeah, the dash and post of George having biggest number of points was so he is unhinged, he is free and we want to see more 🥳 I saw Hbomb reviewing his sot run yesterday and it's so funny, most of the time it's just his expressions that take me out and George did drop by in chat and it was pretty fun with him just being deadpan humor about it. Live how Hbomb mentioned all theories going around about why George never dies like is it pretty privilege or main character syndrome or plot armor? I think the answer is just yes to all with addition of skill and George being sot favourite chaotic son lmao Love how George would stay home to watch reviews even with Quackity there, what an icon and it shows he cares about or at least is interested in feedback or reactions so good for him! On the inclusion of games from Arise plus the mobile games in An Exercise in Futility: Arise’s backstory is at least hinted at in one night on the wild hunt (as well as, you know, having it written before Arise itself came out). Maybe I can introduce the ToAr cast someday in a fic? Possibly; it’s not really on my mind at the time of this post (but, as usual, the timing can always change).

Everything else, though, where Links and Asteria are concerned, I like to wager takes bits and bobs from them and integrated into the world, but they don’t really play a big role in them (e.g. I like to imagine the main cast from Links to be inner city kids in Pendrago that have heard about Velvet’s time as the Lord of Calamity, who, where they’re from, is considered a legend you don’t want to cross paths with). The Asteria OCs probably stay as far the fuck away from Pendrago as possible lmao

On Crestoria: It’s not something I’ve currently considered, and although I could consider its setting place the “NK of the Modern Tales world” I honestly think that’s a bit too dark, even if it could work in a setting that’s about as Modern Day Earth But Make It Tales Flavored as you can get. If I had to figure out how to make it work, they’d probably be in their own sister city that’s even more riddled with gang warfare and political corruption than Pendrago itself (timeline-wise, though...I’m not sure? That’s another thing to plan out: if ToC’s dystopian plot should have any mention in the current canon). I’m going to have to read the manga just to get a better idea (as it’s already starting to include the original character expies in it) - but again, it wouldn’t affect the overall narrative at large. If anything, it’d just be added fluff to the worldbuilding.

And on Luminaria: Technically and my gift to you is a taste of starlight and everything else that takes place after it does take place in this AU - but the cast is so far removed from the other Tales games a’la different locations that the chances of them interacting are probably next to none. I don’t really have any plans for, say, Celia to meet Velvet during her college years and Michelle mistaking them for being long-lost sisters of the sort (although that is an idea for a separate fic I want to mess around with, because Same English VA). If I had to decide where it would take place timeline-wise, it’d have to be post-An Exercise in Futility - as in, maybe a few years after the last AEiF fic.

Oh, and on the lesser-known, JP/KR-exclusive mobiles from the 2000s: ...I actually don’t know lol They’d just be more added fluff pieces but they’d flesh out the worldbuilding a little more.

hi! sorry for disappearing, i was feeling a bit down and then i 🫠 for a little while after that. yes, nfsw is a massive no but like you said there are other topics that shouldn't be discuss about. it actually is but a person will either get upset or find it rude, depending on their mindset but i suppose it's both like a double edged sword. those relationships def are treated as inferior but the friendships that turn into relationships are probably criticise most esp if the parties been friends for years but you can't force feelings to come out at an acceptable time if it ever happens 🤷‍♀️ that's true, a relationship need to be stable before progressing more.

yep. my ex & i tried to love each other romantically and force the feelings, aaand it did not work out lol. in hindsight i’m amazed we managed to go 8 months lmao. funny story too bc we’re both aroace now so it was double stupid. we also didn’t talk at all for 2 years (bc i had them blocked afhjfhg) but we started talking again last week and it’s going great now that we’ve both grown and realised that we’re way better off as friends so i’m not too upset abt our past mistakes anymore lol. anyway, lesson learnt, forcing relationships or love does NOT work out, no matter how desperately you want it to. also agreed, relationships definitely need to be stable to move on bc if they’re not it just keeps getting harder to somehow make them stable (again).
