Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: The Red Roses Mansion Reveal + Nina forgiving Johan and Tenma saving him

Character I Think is Underrated: No idea what the fandom thinks, but I am expecting Eva to have her haters, so I am gonna say her

Character I Think is Overrated: Grimmer? Not that he is overrated per se, but I think he is a fandom favourite and while I love him, I am more invested in other characters. Stil, he is great, so...

Favorite Ship/Pairing: No one really... I like Evan and Martin

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: Everything :P I love the themes especially and the finale + denoument is one of the best I have seen

Favorite Character: Akane

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Akane's big introspective moment, where she re-lives all the key-conversations and is now able to answer to everyone's arguments and questions

Character I Think is Underrated: No idea, really... Kagari maybe? In how I think he is actually key for the themes and story despite his arc not being overly complex

Character I Think is Overrated: Again, no idea, but I would say Kogami maybe? Mostly in how the story is sometimes simplified as his and Makishima's conflict... and like... Kogami and Makishima's conflict is key plot-wise, but thematically the true opponent of Makishima is Akane

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: The world (very complex and intriguing), the way Akane's arc is written (one of the best arcs ever) and the fact the conflict is left unsolved thematically (I am only considering the first season)

"K" stands for King... of Terror - Pt.1

Let me wish happy birthday to one of the cult characters of italian comics: Diabolik, the King of Terror, who just turned 60! (Lots of 60th anniversaries lately...)

Born in November 1962 from the brilliant minds of Angela and Luciana Giussani, Diabolik is a thief stationed in the imaginary city of Clerville, capital of the homonymous Country.

At first a ruthless and vindictive criminal who has no qualm at all in killing whoever stands in his way, he slowly evolved into a more honorable character also thanks to his lover and partner in crime Eva Kant. Still, he remains one of the first protagonists of a comic book series to be an all-negative character (no anti-hero here, just straight out Phantom Blot level criminal 😏).

The name "Diabolik" has a cool origin story. It was inspired by a mysterious killer who terrified the city of Turin a few years before Diabolik's debut, in 1958. A FIAT worker was found stabbed to death on St. Valentine's night and almost immediately the press and police started receiving calls and letters from a mysterious man who called himself "Diabolich" claiming to be the killer and boasting about "his prefect crime"... and he surely had reasons to, since, just like his comics counterpart, he's never been caught.

Inspired by characters such as Arsène Lupin and Fantômas, the success for Diabolik came almost immediately and kicked off a number of noir publications and characters all marked out by a "K" in the name; we're talking about Kriminal, Satanik, Sadik... and Paperinik! (Thought this was gonna be a non-ducks post? Well think again! 🦆)

We know how much Guido Martina loved parodies, but aside from the name, Paperinik has little to nothing in common with Clerville's thief. Though in his original version he's everything but an up-holder of the law, he's more akin to characters such as Zorro or Batman. Yet, having a character named after him on Topolino just speaks volumes about Diabolik's cultural phenomenon.

There's one thing Paperinik does have in common with Diabolik, though: the love for technological devices and rubber masks, gadgets he inherits from the real Duckburg's Diabolik: Fantomius (but I'll talk about him in part 2).

Diabolik's masks are as legendary as the "swisss" of his knife. Made of a very thin layer of rubber, they allow him to basically take the appearance of anyone, so much so that the Clerville police adopted the precaution of always and constantly check the face of whomever is involved in a case.

Unlike Paperinik and Fantomius, who rely on Gearloose family members to create their technological devilries, Diabolik is a genius inventor and engineer on his own. He has a deep knowledge of chemistry, computer science and mechanical engineering and all of his techs, from the narcotic gasses to the laser he uses to melt safes and armored doors, from the the truth serum "penthotal" to the hipnotic drug "scopolamina", all of them are of his own creation.

Not only that, much like James Bond and his Aston Martin, Diabolik drives a 60s black E-Type Jaguar endowed with all sorts of optionals and gimmicks to give the slip to the Clerville police.

Donald's 313-X ain't no Jaguar E-Type... it's better! :D

Fun fact: in 1963 the Giussani sisters were sued for "leading the youth astray" since they had the brilliant idea of handing out Diabolik's third adventure "L'arresto di Diabolik" for free to middle school kids. Outlaw the character, scoundrels the authors! XD They where discharged, of course 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Aside from being a "subversive" reading, the main characteristic of Diabolik is its immobility. In a good way. Since 1962 it never changed, he never evolved if not a little bit: you open a 2022 issue and get the exact same feelings as a 1962 one. The same pace, the same art, the same tropes... and yet, it doesn't feel old. It's outstanding.

With more than 900 adventures across 60 years, 150 million copies sold worldwide and three inspired live action movies (plus one in the making), Diabolik is on the top of the italian comics' food chain with Topolino and other cult characters such as Bonelli's Tex and Dylan Dog.

And talking about Topolino, do you know who actually writes like 90% of Diabolik's stories nowadays? Tito Faraci! 😃 (He's a very busy man... that's probably why he doesn't write for Topolino very frequently ^^)

Since you mentioned H&H in your recent posts (ahem, Henry x Sofia /pos), did you watch the new preview for the newest episode of season 2??? It's honestly so cool!!! If you didn't i recommend watching and then telling me what you think, really!

the one with the boy with slinky limbs?

I don't really know what to think honestly..is that guy supposed to be Henry? or is that a new kid? because isn't Henry technically the "puppeteer" now?

either way, I am not really a big fan of season 2 tbh <:T

the heartbreaking scene with Banzo and Eva was kinda nice, but eeeh idk

to me, the plot was already neatly wrapped up in season 1 (and the non canon Christmas special was easily the best episode)

also, and I know that's kind of shallow, but I really don't like the redesigns! like, if that boy in episode 3 is REALLY supposed to be Henry, I hate it!

Sofia looked way better when she had scary button eyes and a xenomorph mouth and Banzo got skinnier somehow?? like?? martin!! feed your damn dog!!

I'm just not a fan of season 2 so far asfghkk

and I STILL have no idea what the deal was with battington's characters!! like?? wasn't there a thing about copyright?? how does that make any sense?? he made those characters himself??

Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Nylon

Maison Margiela and Reebok launch the Classic Leather Tabi Nylon: the newest trainer conceived in the dialogue between the two brands. Released in stores on December 9th, 2022, the shoe draws on the Classic Nylon originally created by Reebok in 1991 and proposes a lighter interpretation of the Classic Leather Tabi debuted in 2020 as part of the creative conversation with Maison Margiela.

For the next chapter of Maison Margiela’s collaboration with Reebok, Creative Director John Galliano splices the Classic Nylon with the house’s signature Tabi silhouette. In the process, the original running shoe is entirely rebuilt to accommodate the split-toe construction. The classic lace-up sneaker features a leather upper with nylon inserts and suede detailing, a dual-logo tongue, textile lining, and an EVA outsole. It will be available in black, white and navy.

With its clean and minimalist design, the Classic Nylon has become a fixture in sneaker history since Reebok first debuted it in 1991. The Tabi was originally designed by Maison Margiela founder Martin Margiela in 1989 as a mark of respect of the jika-tabi worn by streetworkers in Japan. The split-toe shoe is continuously interpreted by the house in a variety of styles and manifestations.

The Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Nylon will be available from December 9th, 2022 on Reebok.com/maison_margiela with a suggested retail price of € 350 - £ 329 - $ 350 - ¥ 37.000 - HKD 3.190 - ₩ 399.000 - RMB 3.190.

Apologies for the wait again my dear @micheleamidalajedi My brain didn't want to co-operate then I got all nervous about doing something I don't know anything about. After some googling I came up with this. I haven't proof read it because I will talk myself out of posting it. I hope it's okay. Thank you for your patience.

Alex Law x reader.

This was the third time this week he had come in to the restaurant. Business wasn't exactly booming so it was easy to keep track of faces. A high end vegan restaurant is kind of a tough sell in this economy, maybe it would have sold better to the hip crowd in London.

"You can serve him." Christine all but shoved you from behind the bar.

"Why me? I'm busy!" The glasses you were putting back on the shelf almost went tumbling as she dragged you away to steer you towards him.

"I've served him twice. Mark's served him once. He's just a bit..callous. I don't think he thinks before he speaks, he just wants what he wants. Definitely new money, probably just excited to spend it but it's a pain in the arse." He explained hurriedly under her breath.

"Oh, well, then of course I'll serve him!" You huffed back.

"You really haven't noticed have you? The way he waits until you are close to his table to leave so he can say goodbye? The way his eyes follow you? He likes you!" She looks shocked that it hadn't occurred to you.

When you look over at his table he is indeed smiling at you. Your hand comes up of it's own accord to give him a little wave. Christine glares at you, her point proven.

"Fine. I'll serve him." You concede.

"Good evening, Sir. Thank you for dining with us. Would you like to hear tonight's specials?" You slip into you script.

"No, thank you. I know exactly what I would like to have..." he wants what wants, you could see Christine's problem. He was polite, said 'please' after every request. Most of his order was pretty standard, very popular starter and main, it was the desert that caught your attention "....and for desert I would like the Decadence D’Or Cupcake please." The Decadence D’Or Cupcake was created by chef, Olivier Dubreuil at the Palazzo in Vegas. Like you would expect from something created in Vegas it was completely over the top. Made from Venezuela’s rare Porcelana Criollo bean, topped with Tahitian Gold Vanilla Caviar and edible gold flakes. It also includes Louis XIII de Remy Martin Cognac and comes in a hand blown sugar Fleur-de-Lis. Each cupcake cost £500! Your rent for the month!

"Very good choices, Sir. Can I get you anything while you wait?" You tapped at your iPad as you spoke. Instantly sending his order to the kitchen.

"No...but could I ask you a question? I'm Alex by the way." He held out his hand, you shook it and gave him your name, tapping your name tag as you did.

It was a little usual but he was one of two customers here tonight so there was no trouble in indulging him. "Sure."

His smile widened. "Which of the following figures do you most closely identify: Joan of Arc, Eva Braun, or Marilyn Monroe?"

"Well that is a question and a half!" You jaw had dropped slightly.

"I find it helps to get to know people and I'd like to get to know you." His smile was almost shy, despite him coming off as the most confident man in the world. It looked charming on his handsome face.

Your answer was interrupted by his order being ready. A simple salad took the three chefs working no time to prepare. When you returned he thanked you before looking up expectantly.

"If I give you an answered, will you promise not push for an explanation?" If he wasn't already intrigued but you those words had him hooked. The journalist in him smelled a story. Pushing that instinct down he reassured you he wouldn't.

"Joan of Arc." You replied with smirk. It was a little twisted, your own private joke about your scars. The burns that littered your arms, chest and neck, were covered by your dress.

Alex ate his starter and main conversing with you when he could. When you brought his eye wateringly expensive desert out he asked another question. "Have you tried it?"

"No." You laughed. "They are a little out of my price range."

Picking up the knife on the table he quickly sliced it in two. "You should. Join me?"

Looking around, trying to gauge if you would get in trouble you realised that that other customer had left, your colleagues were now all gathered at the serving window, watching intently. As you slowly slipped into the chair opposite Alex, they all gave you the thumbs up. The cupcake was excellent. Moist and flavourful. The best part was Alex's face it lit up joyfully. He savoured every bite. It made you smile.

It was then you decide to write your number on his receipt. He called the next day and the next time you ate together, your weren't the one serving. You talked about anything and everything. Alex was smart, witty, endlessly curious. He was also sweet and respectful. He never comment led on your clothing. Everything you wore had a high neck and long sleeves. You'd long since tired of the gawking of strangers. Even when he had eventually stayed over, he hadn't made a deal of your scars or the story behind them. Even though you knew his mind itched with questions.

The next morning, you stood looking out of the window with your coffee in your hand. Alex came out of the bathroom to see you standing there, bathed in the light. He was wearing his clothes from last night, you had thrown on a tank top.

"May I?" His hand hover over your arm. You weren't sure what he was asking but you nodded anyway. His finger tips gently traced the uneven skin. You gasped at the tenderness. His feather light touch sent shivers up your spine. It had been years since you had be touched with such care and reverence. It made your heart swell.

"I know it's none of my business and you probably tire of questions about them but I think you are truly stunning. You shouldn't feel the need to hide." As if to emphasise his point his lips trailed behind his fingers. He placed kisses all the way up your arms and back. They were soft yet firm, full of meaning. You are beautiful, believe me. He was right, of course. You shouldn't have covered up just for a quite life. If people wanted to stare, it said more about them than about you.

The weather was warming, so once Alex left you went out to buy yourself some summer dresses. When your wore one that night, his lips return to your exposed skin. "I'm proud of you. You should never let anything hold you back from living life the way you want to live it." That very much seemed to be Alex out look on life. You started spend all your free time together. Yet you still hadn't been to Alex's place. He put it down to his roomate David 'having a hard time.' Not wanting to pry you didn't mention it again. Alex stayed at your place only going back to his when he needed. Like now, you sat on your couch, flicking through the channels finally settling on The Crystal Maze, while you waited.

A hurried knock at your door, drew your attention. Opening it you found Alex outside with two suitcase. "How to do you feel about Rio?"
