Hormonal Imbalance is something women will go through: Puberty, Peri-Menopause, & Menopause. Tuesday Tip! To keep from accelerating the aging process - ladies (and gents) if you wear makeup and love how it makes you feel - don't forget to remove it every night. By not doing so will increase the breakdown of collagen - we lose at least 1% a year and this is what we need to maintain supple skin. This breakdown of collagen will increase the dreaded fine lines and wrinkles. It is also important that you use a remover that isn't too harsh on your skin and is capable to remove even the toughest "waterproof" mascara. You'll also want to ensure that you remove it properly. You never want to apply too hard of a pressure to where you are pulling and tugging - especially around your eyes. To do this correctly, make sure you soak a cotton round apply it on your eyes and lips for at least 30 seconds and gently wipe off remember no pulling or tugging. My favorite remover that I've been alternating is this Micellar Gentle Lip & Eye Remover. This is great for all skin types (especially sensitive skin), it helps rebalance your skin moisture level rather than stripping away the natural oils. It's top active ingredients are fig extracts and davidiana roots to help soothe irritated skin (especially around the lips and eyes) and ceramides to help support the skin's barrier. 💦 Remember to prevent extrinsic aging - remove your makeup every night before going to bed and use a gentle (yet effective) makeup remover without any harsh ingredients to prevent accelerating the aging process.
