I wonder… What are the clothing styles of Mei Lee and her friends?
That's easy to see just from looking at their pictures.
Mei's look is nerdy yet girly and cute. She typically wears a short sleeved pink blouse, sometimes a red sweater over it, a short indigo skirt, mauve leggings under it, pink socks, and gray sneakers.
Miriam is the most tomboyish of the group. She wears a mint green t-shirt, an open green plaid shirt over it, green jeans, mauve slip-on shoes, and a green ski cap.
Priya has a gender-neutral nerd look, with a long-sleeved, yellow and orange striped zip-up shirt, ochre cargo pants, and gray sneakers. The gold hoop earrings and nose stud she wears add a touch of femininity, though, as well as evoking her Indian heritage.
Abby's outfit is the cutesiest, with a a pink turtleneck sweater, lavender overalls with a few flowers on them, dark purplish shoes, a pink headband, and orange heart-shaped earrings.

Tag 10 ( or however you want) people you want to know better.
Thank you @virevoltantes for tagging me! I love playing ask games!
Relationship status: Engaged (still weird to say it, lol)
Favourite colour: I love purples and greys, but don’t like wearing them.
You talked about favorite lipstick colors, and my personal favorites are MACs Del Rio and Crme in Your Coffee. I also really like more mauve/pink colors but I am actually the worst when it comes to matching online swatches to my skin tone, lol. Maybe I’ll figure it out this decade. I’m also terrible at losing lipsticks so I’m very proud of myself for actually knowing where both of them are.
Favourite food: Anything Italian, Japanese, or Indian is always good. I’m super spoiled because my MIL is a chef and she’s the best cook. Everything she makes is delicious and her love language is definitely cooking for her family. I enjoy her homemade Guatemalan food (but don’t really care for Mexican food in general outside of tamales). My guilty pleasure is elote and if I ever see an elotero man I will 100% do an illegal u-turn to go get some, lol.
Last thing I googled: Something especially boring for work and AO3 because I have an addiction and my autofill never works on my phone. (I was marking things to read for later before I saw this.)
Time: 2:00PM PM (PST): July 12.
Dream trip: I majored in history (my focus was on 20th century European history with a focus on World War II) so there are a lot of places I’d like to see in Europe, the US and Japan. My grandfather was a WWII veteran and was stationed at the RAF Bury St. Edmund’s and I’d love to see it. My cousin went pre-pandemic and the air base treated them really lovely and let them tour even though it was closed at the time. I’d like to see Germany, I’d like to see Auschwitz (and cry), Hiroshima and the Arizona. My grandfather was a prisoner of war in Austria and while the site no longer exists, it’d be interesting to see the place where his B-17 was shot down and get an idea of where his internment camp (Stalag 17) was. Outside of a veritable history tour, I’d really like to go to Scotland. I’d also like to go back to the East Coast because I have so many friends there that COVID interrupted me from seeing in person.
Tagging some new and old friends: @anniebibananie / @bellarkyy / @blondiest / @into-september / @everdeenwayland / @justadram

INDIAN CLOTHING TRENDS IN VARIOUS SEASONS
One India.
1.4 billion people.
Four (4) seasonal weather patterns.
Two main (2) fashion seasons - summer and festive!
India is a land of festivities with the people always styling for the various festivals year-round. And while summer is the most notable fashion season, spring, autumn, and winter still manage to have dresses and collections unique for each of them.
We recently discussed festival clothing trends in India. This post, however, purely explores the different Indian clothing trends in various seasons. How does the Indian woman style herself across these different seasons? Let’s find out!
INDIAN SUMMER CLOTHING TRENDS
In the heat of summer, our choice of fashion is mostly about cooling off and ensuring you’re comfortable. This is also true for Indian women. If you’re a fan of ethnic Indian fashion, there are always enough dresses to take you through summer from sarees to lehengas, choli, gharara, salwar suit, etc. But you’re probably here for the defining trends of an Indian woman’s summer fashion and below we highlight the hottest ones currently;
Summer Wear for Indian Women
Summer Wear for Indian Women
Minimal and clean
You want your arms and legs to be able to breathe just fine in the hot and humid Indian summer weather. Your best bet is minimal and clean styles because less is always better in summer.
Prints and embroideries
This summer, we expect intricate prints and embroideries to be the rage as women yearn for a more laidback and luxe fashion style. Expect more intricately embellished and embroidered shirts and dresses with subtle prints and more pinks and mauves.
Floral prints and summer
You know that summer is always the season for cheery flowers and breezy fabrics. It’s true for Indian women too. Floral prints are a staple of summer and they are common in the typical Indian woman’s summer wardrobe.
Pastels, and white too!
In the heat of summer, you always prefer something soothing. This is why white and pastel shades are always a big deal for summer. You can invest in dresses in more pastel shades for summer, from white georgette fabric dresses to Indian crepe dresses in cream, pink, light green, and all of the other beautiful pastel shades.
INDIAN WINTER CLOTHING TRENDS
Winterwear is mostly about keeping you warm and protected when it gets cold outside. However, there are more than enough dresses, trends, and styles to ensure you are as fabulous as ever even in the cold of winter. Check out the Indian woman’s top trends below when it comes to Indian winter clothing trends for women;
Indian Sharara for Winter Wear

Sweater tops and long sleeves
We say less is better in summer. In winter, you need more to protect yourself against the cold weather. Long sleeve dresses with sweater tops will do the trick.
Scarfs and shawls
Love your dupatta? Winter is the perfect season to take that love to the next level. Whether you are wearing a kurta, saree, or sweater, you can easily wrap a scarf around your neck and your outfit will still look as cute and stylish as you’d want!
Luxe fabrics
While summer is mostly for light fabrics, winter gives you the perfect opportunity to indulge in salwar suits, sarees, lehenga cholis, and other dresses made from lush fabric like silk, velvet, brocade, satin, and jacquard, among others.
Chilled out hues
Pastel shades and whites are all the rage during summer. For winter, you’ll want to do more dark and offbeat colors like wine, gray, and royal blue, among others.
INDIAN CLOTHING TRENDS FOR AUTUMN
Autumn is the transition season between summer and winter. And because sometimes, it’s never too cold or too hot, you get to try out some of the best pieces from both summer and winter. How does this turn out for the Indian woman?
We’ve got the biggest autumn trends here, laid out bare for you to explore as the country enters a season of weddings and festivities!
Women Clothing for Autumn Season
Women Clothing for Autumn Season
Occasion dresses
September marks the beginning of weddings and all kinds of festivities in India. For your autumn wardrobe, it helps to stock up on lehenga cholis, sarees, Anarkali suits, salwars, and more for whatever occasions you have lined up.
Oriental florals
Along with beautiful applique and intricate embroidery designs, oriental prints and florals are a staple of the Indian autumn. Bold Eastern prints along with phoenix and bird prints are great for this season.
Ruffles and pleats
Textured garments with interesting ruffles and pleats are common in the Indian autumn. If you like, you can stock up on more Indian dresses with these interesting design elements.
Bright and happy hues
Flamboyant colors like yellow, red, green, and fuchsia, among others, are great for a bright and beautiful autumn. Talking about bright, you might want to go all-in on those sequins and crystals embroidery as well. A little bit of sparkle in autumn is never out of place.
INDIAN SPRING CLOTHING TRENDS
Sarees, lehengas, and fusion wear are all good for anyone looking to flow with the seasonal change that spring brings. But what exactly are the defining trends of this season for women who love both modern and ethnic Indian dresses? Find your answers below;
Pastel colors
Love pastels? Spring is the perfect opportunity to shop for dresses of all kinds from salwar suits to lehenga choli, abaya suits, and more in soft and chic pastels.
Layers
If you’re bold enough to style yourself like your favorite Bollywood actress, layering is the easiest route and spring is just right for this. You can pair a bright garment with another coat in a neutral shade. This is super easy to style and kind of refreshing.
Belted blouses
Everything is becoming belted these days from Sarees to Anarkali, jeans, and now blouses are the latest to join that trend. If you’re excited about this, it could be one of your spring’s best looks.
Sheer fabric
There is something magical about sheer fabrics. It’s perfect for Spring when you need your skin to be able to breathe in the heat. It also adds a bit of mystery and sexiness to your look, if you care. All of these make sheer clothing perfect for the Indian spring.
The best thing about the Indian fashion scene is that there is always something for every season and occasion.
Whether it is spring, summer, autumn, winter, or any of the festivals and occasions we can’t do without, you can rest assured that you’ll always find something to help you nail the perfect look. The trends up here are a great starting point for any of these seasons.

Choosing Colors For Your Wedding
The colour palette or the theme is a combination of colours or variations of a single colour used in various ways throughout your wedding day. Colours bind the different elements of your wedding, from your wedding invites to table linens and decor, flowers, your wedding attire, and even the cake design. Some go to the extent of pairing the colour of return gifts and cocktails. A distinct colour palette creates a cohesive wedding theme. Matching colours is much more than coordinated cutlery or dresses. It is a beautiful way to create the vibe of your special day. Colours can create different moods, airy, romantic with pastels, dramatic with jewel tones and regal with purple and red. Choosing your wedding colours may not be easy and it’s hard to narrow down your list, especially when you consider picking a monochrome, muted or metallic palette. Take your time deciding on the scheme because a consistent colour palette is one detail that everyone will remember and more so if it brings your love story to life.
How to choose the theme color? Weddings and colors are inseparable but to make a statement you have to think of unique combinations. The choice of colors depends on factors that include your wedding season, the event and aesthetics. Your choice might also depend on the popular wedding colors at the time.
The big fat Indian weddings with their vivid celebrations and festivities traditionally exhibit marigolds, jasmines and greens. Red, white, and orange have been associated with wedding festivities all over the country. However, with the global influences and new trends, color preferences have also changed.
Setting aside majority choices, traditions and rules, you may craft your wedding theme with quirky color pairings. However, you do need to consider venue, season, mood and style, personal preferences, color wheel, and trending colors.
Color Wheel To The Rescue As with any artwork, maintaining harmony in combinations is basic. It is easy to do so, if you go by the color wheel, pairing cool and warm tones,(for example, terracotta orange and sky blue). Anyone with minimum knowledge will tell you that complimentary hues are opposites across from each other on the color wheel. Another way is to use similar colors together, like those that share a primary color ( peacock blue and sage green, or lilac and blush).
You may also choose a bright basic colour and pair it with a neutral hue.
Scout For A Complimentary Venue Start thinking about the theme and color along with the location of the venue. Once you decide on your dream color palette look around for spaces that can be given interesting makeovers. You can think of outdoor areas like river fronts, gardens, or even warehouses. Open spaces allow you the freedom to play with different setups of your wedding vision and really personalize the space. Reimagine the decor of the wedding hall and mix and match with carpets, wall decor, and light fixtures.
Mood Of the Matter Colors can create vibes, moods, and ambience and have a huge impact on your special day. Bright Pinks, Turquoise, Reds, Yellows, and Orange hues are happy colors adding a fun element. But if you wish for some classic colors with a timeless appeal, we would suggest tones like navy blue, black, ivory and metallic silver or gold. Take a moment to imagine which style and theme you would like for your special day and leave it to the florists.
Colors And Changing Seasons. Take a cue from Mother Nature and combine your wedding colors to reflect the time of year when you say “I do.” You can create unique styles with different combos. Rosy hues create accents of Spring, while purples with jewel undertones are great for the autumn mood. Silver combined with soft mauves creates a winter theme.
Trust Your Personal Color Choice If you are still undecided about color combinations, go by your gut feeling. Think of the colors you have always been comfortable wearing. Choose colors that lift your mood and the colors you like in your wardrobe, accessories and surroundings.
Choose from Trending Wedding Colors
Like fashion trends, color trends change from year to year. If metallic gold was the hot choice in 2021, metallic gold, the trending color for 2022, will be full of bright colors, including green, peachy pink and Very Peri, the Pantone Color of the Year.
Versatile Wedding Colors Notwithstanding personal choices, trending choices and rule books for wedding colors, versatile wedding colors work year-round. You can never go wrong with evergreen colors, especially when you pair them with accent colors or metallic tones. Event Majors style consultants suggest that colors like neutral earthy hues, golden and grey palette, black, green, navy blue with silver, and Lilac purple paired with deep burgundy could be all-season colors.
Get Inspired by Colors of India
The big fat Indian wedding exhibits a myriad bouquet of rainbow hues. You can get eye-catching inspiration from the Indian colors, including shades of yellow and bright pinks or choose the Peach and Blue combination. Weddings are all about colors, lights and bling- Gold and black could be a stunning color palette for a luxe look. Indian wedding attire showcases the radiant hues of amethyst, ruby, aquamarine and topaz to create a lively palette. Your theme can combine all these lovely colors for that vibrant Indian feel.
Different colour combos, different vibes
Here is a list of trending color pairings and the vibes that go with them:
Silver and Cobalt: Polished party vibe creating energetic ambience with a hint of sparkle. White and Yellow: Yellow interrupts the serenity of white and adds the right pop of vibrancy. Ombré Pinks: Pink is always a romantic color, and different hues of pink together are stunning. Purple and Burgundy: Colors for luxe and royal charm. Shades of Blue: Blues in different shades, teals, turquoise, aqua, Prussian, cobalt, sky or a classic blue and white will be breathtaking.
Tangerine colors, oranges, and yellows unfailingly create stunning themes. Whatever you choose, remember to incorporate the combination into a million things – from the background, seating arrangement, and the altar/mandap to the centerpieces. Our suggestion would be the classic Red, gold and green for Indian weddings.

A stylist’s guide to wearing laacha bridal on your big day
A laacha bridal is an indispensable element in the Indian bridal trousseau. After all, what wedding is complete without an extravagantly embellished bridal laacha? We have to blame Bollywood for making us fall head over heels for this timeless piece of fabric.
Given the fact that bridal laacha has been around for years, it has not withstood the energy of experimentation. Many brides have attempted to flaunt new designs without going overboard.
We have compiled some of the best style recommendations for wearing laacha bridal on your big day. Try this out and thank us later!
The new bridal trend- Pastels
Traditional bridal laachas used to feature hues of gold, red, or both. However, modern brides seem to ditch old-fashioned choices and move toward bold hues of pastels. Soft colors like baby blue, baby pink, sea green, and mauve are gaining popularity.
Pastel-shaded lehengas are preferred for day weddings or beach weddings. Are you in the mood to try one?
Adding a contemporary twist with floral prints
Earlier, floral prints used to be part of summer dresses. Now, brides seem to have incorporated exquisite floral designs into their wedding lehengas. The floral print’s subtlety exudes an aura of freshness and elegance to the whole bridal trousseau. This minimalistic fashion choice draws a great contrast with the traditional heavily embroidered cholis.
Complete the fusion look with a jacket
The jacket-style lehenga blends contemporary fashion with tradition. Brides can create a smart and sassy look with a lehenga skirt and jacket-styled shirt. This type of laachas is perfect for sangeet or engagements. You can even add a touch of grandeur with intricate embroidery, sequins, or zardozi work.
Be elegant with unconventional ruffles
Be the modern bride and add a touch of elegance with the unexpected ruffles. You can create a dramatic effect and add volume with the ruffles. Try this, a floral choli, a net ruffle lehenga, and a ruffled dupatta can absolutely turn heads.
Become the epitome of grace with long choli
The long choli is a comfortable dress for brides who do not want to show around their midriff. This traditional clothing helps you to stay true to the traditions without compromising style, elegance, and charm.
Go for the evergreen class-Anarkali
If you are too afraid to take risks, then go for the old-school retro outfit. You need to certainly try this figure-flattering option that can make you feel like a princess. If you are too bothered about the comfort factor, then go for anarkali laachas made of georgette or silks.
Getting dressed for the big day is not an easy feat. You have a hundred things running on your mind and you don’t want to spoil the day by making a bad move with your dress. Use our style recommendations and get dressed as the best for the D-day.

Guide to Finding the Perfect Blush for Indian Skin
Let’s understand every Indian skin tone and what blush suits them best.
Deep Skin
For those with deep skin tones, rich, bold shades of blush such as burgundy, deep plum, and warm brown tones are a great option. These shades will add depth and dimension to your cheeks and complement your skin tone beautifully. Avoid blushes that are too light or cool-toned, as they may not appear on your skin.
Medium to Olive Skin
Those with medium to olive skin tones can opt for deeper, warmer shades of blush, such as apricot, terracotta, and warm mauve. These shades will add warmth to your skin and create a beautiful glow. Avoid blushes that are too light or cool-toned, as they may not appear on your skin.
Light to Medium Skin
You can go for warm pink, rosy, or peachy shades if you have light to medium skin. These shades will add a natural flush of color to your cheeks and complement your skin tone beautifully. Avoid too cool-toned blushes, as they can wash out your complexion.
Fair Skin
Light pink, peach, and coral shades are a great option for those with fair skin. Avoid too dark or bright blushes, as they can overwhelm your skin tone. Stick to soft, subtle shades that will enhance your natural flush.
Tumblr media
Types of Blush Makeup
Blush comes in various types, each with its unique benefits and drawbacks. Here are some of the most common types of blush for skin:
It's also important to consider the finish of the blush. Matte blushes work well for oily skin, while those with dry skin can opt for cream or liquid formulas that provide a more dewy finish. These accessories provide women with timeless elegance. The eye-catching outfit features a gold tinsel jersey saree draped expertly and a grey, totally sequined and beaded high-low jacket blouse.
Inspiring New Saree Styles
The sophisticated mix of modern and classic elements and hints of three-dimensional embroidery and decorations make these patterns perfect for formal events like cocktail parties, dinner parties, receptions, and more.
This saree lehenga is ideal for a formal occasion because the strings of genuine pearls adorn the sleeveless blouse modelled after the modern sari. In addition, the feathery top of this white and mauve saree really sets it apart, giving the wearer an air of ethereality.
Here We Have the Completed Designer Saris That Are Ready to Be Worn These sarees merge the extraordinary with the ordinary using recycled plastics, industrial materials, and unique weaving processes. Wear these new, stunning sarees with wings. The Chrysanthemum-inspired saree is one of the amazing creations.
A fantastic array of sculptural, sophisticated evening wear includes a georgette saree. Choose the silver and pink ombre saree on lame with sequin embroidery around the drape and a unique blouse to stun everybody around you.
The Most Popular Sari Styles
Wearing a saree from the region may help you better understand and appreciate the local culture. Designs, especially couture pieces, are more than just aesthetically pleasing; they are truly artistic creations. Constant inquiry and careful craftsmanship are two of the most crucial features.
The pale gold set saree will make you look like you walked straight off the runway. On the contrary, you might opt for a saree with muted pink and peach tones with silver embroidery for a more understated look.
Vintage Sarees
If you respect legacy and refinement, the Mekhla Chador is an Indian Saree with the iconic Assamese touch. A black and gold silk saree can be every partygoer's dream. Every woman needs a silk saree. Dance and socialise in the saree at evening events.
Gorgeous Ruffled Designer Saris
Peplum-embroidered sarees are the most popular. The fully embroidered peplum top with glittering handwork will glow brighter than the night sky in purple. A saree can be dramatic with a tasselled blouse and bold jewellery. Brownie accents the floral pallu.
