fr the music ask game, a band: Iron Maiden. a song: Elizabeth by Aiden. An album: Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful by Paloma Faith. (i have no idea what music ur into lol sry)
thank you so much for this!! it’s taken me ages to get to but i had so much fun.... i’ve deviated a bit from the responses in the post and just. rambled a lot because why not
band: iron maiden
Do I know them already?: yes | no (obviously encountered them but i’ve never really gotten into it before ykwim)
First song youtube took me to: the trooper
First impression: good! normally i like my metal much, much slower and doomier and more incoherent. but i could get into this. listening to fear of the dark now as well. man they really don’t sound as nasty their album covers look, i feel like my parents wouldn’t hate this.
Do I like it?: yes, i can imagine that i would really dig it after a few listens
Would I listen to more from them?: yeah tbh, i’m going to take this as the nudge to listen to some properly, if only to show my face in public without feeling like a fraud sjdkskd
song: elizabeth by aiden
okay i love this for several reasons, firstly what millennial doesnt love hardcore, secondly my name is elizabeth and every rock band should be obliged to write a song about elizabeth bathory & name it after me. i don’t love it quite as much as the ghost song of the same name and subject matter, but i do love it a lot.
album: Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful by Paloma Faith
Opinion on cover design: it’s objectively nice but doesn’t do anything for me personally
Favourite song: stone cold sober -- the chorus is lots of fun
Least favourite song: stargazer -- bit too sentimental for me
Overall: i’ve never liked paloma faith but i’ve also never given her a fair chance so i did listen to this all the way through with an open mind! definitely had fun every time we hit a catchy chorus, but fundamentally i just find her voice kinda grating and get bored waiting for those choruses to show up.

also i finished night in the woods
so! here are some thoughts, with some spoilers for the end of the game so beware:
this game felt very millennial to me. not in a bad way (or a good way per se), just in a way where it felt like all the major themes targetted a specific audience: the existential and economic anxiety, the mental health issues, the sexuality... not that those things are unique to millennials but they are i would say touchstones of the ~millennial experience
i liked all the characters a lot. i was somewhat frustrated that i had to choose who to hang out with rather than being able to interact more with all of them, but i suppose that’s where you get replay value. i spent most of my nights with bea, because any time a video game asks me to choose between a male character and a female character i am going to choose the woman, #misandry etc, but i did really like gregg and his relationship with mae and would’ve liked to see more of it/him as well as bea. i thought the character writing was very good, everyone flawed in their own ways but believable and sympathetic. there were a few good emotional suckerpunches.
anyway, the game had a lot to say, and i think it mostly said it all in creative and interesting ways. i really liked the one conversation about faith that mae has with the pastor, where the pastor admits she doesn’t always believe in god, and mae accuses her of being a fraud and the pastor defends herself. i also though the scene where mae essentially chooses between suicide and living was compellingly done. the convo between bea and mae about bea’s desire to go to college but feeling stuck in her responsibility to her father was very sad and very good. i loved the stargazing scenes. even selmers’ crazy poem at the poetry reading was really good.
i am not totally sure if all the pieces came together in the end. i was expecting something bleaker, and was sort of relieved that it ended with mae and her friends having pizza, but i was left with a feeling of “that’s it? what now?”
in some ways, i suppose the end of the game was fitting -- as bea very aptly puts it a group of angry dads trying to keep the town stagnant in a longing for a past that never existed in the first place. it certainly felt politically and socially relevant in the here and now, in 2017. but it was also a bit anticlimatic as a video game, imo, where i am accustomed to, if not big battles of some kind, at least moral choices or quandaries where my participation as a player feels like more than just a passive audience viewing a story.
if i have a big criticism it is the tediousness of many parts of the gameplay, where i am just mashing square (or x, or circle, because they all do the exact same thing) over and over to get through long scenes of dialogue that is well-written but not acted and therefore just left for me to read. i guess it’s close to the “visual novel” type games, but there’s a reason i don’t play visual novels tbh. even moments of the more interactive stuff, like mae’s nightmares where you have to go find the musicians, felt tedious to me after a while. i wanted the story to progress because i was invested in it but the mecahnics of getting through it often felt tiresome. in theory i’d like to replay because i’d like to see some of the stuff i missed and i’d like to hang out with gregg more and see his route, but the thought of having to actually do it feels ...exhausting. i suppose that’s where Lps come in, but generally speaking if i, a person who does not watch LPs, would rather watch one than replay your game, that’s probably not a resounding recommendation.
i suppose if i were trying to give it a star rating i’d go with like... 7/10. a good story i am happy to have experienced, but perhaps not the best game. contrast with something like what remains of edith finch, where i thought the vehicle of it being a game is absolutely what made the story, and the story on its own as a short story or a movie would not have been as compelling.

"It's called Netflix and chill for a reason..", "I'm never letting you go" and "That was unexpected.." with HOLLSTEIN please
Geez I had so much fun writing this?? It actually made me so happy omg and I am Here for Carmilla being lowkey hooked on Gilmore Girls after probably months of complaining about it heheh
---
Laura looks over to Carmilla, her girlfriend’s face illuminated by the light of her laptop in the dark room. She grins at the girl’s intense look of concentration as she watches the show, and eventually, her gaze seems to catch Carm’s attention. The other girl turns to face her, opening her mouth as though to question her, but before she can, Laura presses her lips quickly against hers, pulling her girlfriend to her.
“That was unexpected…” Carm purrs as she pulls away, her lips only inches from Laura’s, “I thought the whole idea of tonight was to watch Gilmore Girls.”
“It’s called Netflix and Chill for a reason…” Laura chuckles, kissing Carmilla again. “It’s no 1698 waltzing, but, hey, in 2017, it might as well be sex.”
“Ugh, you millennials and your new traditions,” Carmilla rolls her eyes dramatically, laughing fondly at her beaming girlfriend, “whatever happened to stargazing and champagne?”
“Well, I guess we were gazing and Stars Hollow,” Laura argued mockingly, “and we do have wine.”
“You were watching me, cupcake, not the show,” Carmilla points out, arms draping around the smaller girl’s shoulders as she readjusts her position.
“Well, maybe I was looking at my own stars,” Laura smiles gently, her eyes flickering to her girlfriend’s lips. “I’m never letting you go.”
Carmilla’s eyes flicker down, too, and she bites her lip gently. Laura moans at the sight, and moves in closer.
“Hang on just a second,” Carmilla breathes into Laura’s ear, and she reaches over to close the laptop beside them.
“Um, what are you doing?” Laura tips her head to one side, frowning gently.
“Well, things are about to get pretty intense here, and if you think I’m missing Rory’s first day at Yale, you are sorely mistaken, creampuff.”
“Okay, I’m pretty sure you just killed the mood.”
“I’m sure we can revive it.”
Carmilla smiles suggestively at her girlfriend, and leans over to kiss her deeply.

London is going all butterbeer over 20th anniversary of Harry Potter
LONDON – Do you know which Harry Potter characters share their names with ancient constellations? What’s the incantation for the levitating charm? Do you know your Bowtruckles from your Basilisks?
Because there will be a trivia test.
It has been 20 years since J.K. Rowling charmed readers of all ages with the publication of the first Harry Potter book, and it seems many of us are still spellbound.
To mark the anniversary, the British Library has swung open its doors for “Harry Potter: A History of Magic,” a new exhibition that explores the history behind the wizarding world.
Others, too, are paying tribute. On June 26 – exactly 20 years to the day since the first book was published in the United Kingdom – Harry Potter was trending worldwide on social media. On Saturday evening, the BBC aired a documentary that includes a rare interview with Rowling. Before, during and after Halloween, millennials are slipping on robes and raising a celebratory pint to the boy wizard they grew up with at unofficial Harry Potter pub crawls (combining two of Britain’s popular pastimes: drinking and dressing up in costumes.)
Not that it takes much to motivate Potter enthusiasts. Last month, for instance, thousands of Muggles descended on Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross station to mark the day that Harry Potter’s son Albus left for Hogwarts. For those truly potty about Potter, there is the “Making of Harry Potter” studio tour, next to the film studios where all eight films were made, which in the lead-up to Halloween is hosting feasts in the “Great Hall” with pumpkins and cauldrons full of lollipops.
The latest draw is the exhibition at the British Library, which sold a record 30,000 tickets even before its opening last week.
The show delves into the historical links with the fantastical world dreamed up by Rowling – who studied classics and French at university – by exploring the wider cultural context in which the books are set. For those able to harness their inner Hermione, the library is hosting “quiz nights” to test visitors on their wizarding knowledge.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect for fans is the scores of items donated by Rowling herself, including original handwritten extracts from various Potter books with lines crossed out and annotations from the author.
There are also a number of intricate drawings (yes, she can draw). For instance, there is a map of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, complete with a Quidditch field, a lake with a giant squid and a whomping willow tree that she writes on the paper “must stand out.” Another note shows her pondering different ways students could be sorted into the houses at Hogwarts – including ghosts, a riddle, statues or a “sorting hat” that she sketches along with a song.
Many of her items are dated from before she found a publisher – she was turned down eight times before Bloomsbury took a chance on her – and they illustrate just how vivid and richly imagined the Harry Potter-verse was from a very early stage, complete with its own consistent logic and rules.
The “first review” of her work is also on display. Alice Newton, the 8-year-old daughter of the founder of Bloomsbury, wrote on a piece of paper: “The excitement in this book made me feel warm inside. I think it is possibly one of the best books an 8/9 year old could read.” The day after she penned the note, Bloomsbury agreed to publish “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”

The exhibit is lined with book wallpaper and is dimly lit. Cauldrons and tea cups “float” from the ceiling, and an invisibility cloak is, apparently, hanging from a hook. It’s organized by the school curriculum at Hogwarts, so visitors explore rooms dedicated to subjects including potions, herbology, divination, astronomy and defense against the dark arts.
The potions room, for instance, features the Ripley Scroll, a 20-foot-long manuscript from the 1500s that is a kind of instruction guide on how to create a philosopher’s stone, a substance that reputedly could turn base metals into gold and grant eternal life.
“It helps bring stories to life to see the real concepts behind them,” said Alexander Lock, a mustachioed historian and one of the curators of the exhibit.
Leaning over the glass case containing the scroll, Lock pointed to an image depicting a black stone, a white stone and a red stone. He noted that Sirius’ last name is Black, and that Albus (Dumbledore) is Latin for white and Rubeus (Hagrid) is Latin for red.
The scroll is displayed alongside the tombstone of Nicholas Flamel, a name shared by a character in the first Harry Potter book. On loan from the Musée de Cluny in Paris, the headstone was reportedly found in the 19th century at a Parisian grocery store where it was being used as a chopping board.
The real-life Flamel was a Parisian landlord and bookdealer who died in 1418. After his death, rumors surfaced that he was an alchemist – his work was referenced by Isaac Newton – who had unlocked the secret to creating a philosopher’s stone.
“I heard when they extracted (Flamel’s) tombstone, they didn’t actually find a body, so it could well be true,” said Lock, smiling.
In addition to borrowing artifacts from other museums, the library draws on its own rich collection to display ancient books like “Liber Medicinalis,” which features the earliest recorded use of “abracadabra,” a charm thought to have healing powers.
In the herbology section, there are ancient manuscripts on mandrakes, plants with roots that look humanlike. In “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” Professor Sprout asks her students to wear earmuffs when replanting baby mandrakes because of their insanely loud cries.
Indeed, it was long believed that when the root of the plant was yanked from the ground, it would scream and kill anyone who heard it. According to a 15th century book on display, the recommended way of harvesting mandrakes included the use of a horn to drown out the shrieking.
In the astronomy room, which is dominated by a 400-year-old celestial globe, visitors discover the constellations that share names with characters in the book, including Bellatrix LeStrange and Sirius Black.
Keen stargazers will know that the brightest star in the night sky is called Sirius, also known as the Dog Star.
The reviews so far have been generally strong, with many critics noting the breadth of material on display. Some have said that it doesn’t “hang together” as a whole or that younger children may become “fidgety” near the end – but most agree that Potter fans will gobble it up.
For her part, Rowling said it was “wonderful” and appeared to be particularly taken by the tombstone of one of her characters. She tweeted a picture of it with the caption: “Guess what this is? I’ve just seen it and was mesmerised …”
All of this is fair game for the Harry Potter quiz night. If you do portkey over to London and find yourself participating in one, facts that may come in handy: Draco Malfoy and Remus Lupin also share their names with the constellations; Wing-gar-dium Levi-o-sa is the spell for levitation; and a Bowtruckle and a Basilisk are very different creatures.
“Harry Potter: A History of Magic” is at the British Library until the end of February 2018. It transfers to New York’s Historical Society next October.

Fun fact: Being temporarily off work for a few weeks due to pandemic has provided some extra free time to edit and posta new chapter for this fic ( which is on account of the temporary closures of public institutions, and public spaces along with non-essential businesses/services in Ontario-the Canadian province I'm from). This isn't to suggest I'm not without fear or concern about the pandemic or potential effects on global infrastructure but at least I'm mostly coping as best as anyone can at this time. Hope you guys are all too. ( A bit more on this in the A/N at the end of this chapter .) Anyway, hope that this chapter and my other fanfics along with those from amazing writers can help you all while stuck at home. All right, that's pretty much my whole spiel for now. Without further ado, here's Chapter 4 of TTDW-Enjoy!

"Your body is full of rage.
Every sinew. It is easy to read.
You speak volumes with a clenched fist."
( Paolo Bacigalupi: The Drowned Cities)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Seriously? Luce's alive?
That…. I can't...
A wave of overjoyed relief was washing over Natsu from the spectacular news about his best friend still breathing.
"Hear that Luce?!" He sobbed, not bothering to wipe the moisture from his eyes." You're alive and gonna be okay— Thank God! Really... don't ... know what I'd do without ya…," Scarlet-red eyes remained focused/trained on the face on the motionless angel in his arms.
"Pretty sure the guild and the rest of the people we know would be just as devastated if they lost such an incredible person and wizard . Glad you're okay either way though." Natsu's hands were stroking sweat-plastered strands of Lucy's hair back from her eyes with delicate care .
Really glad she's still in fact alive and kicking…
In that very moment , it was as if the world had fallen away; leaving just the two of them. Nothing else seemed to matter then . Not cold-blooded enemies in the room, or the recent battle just moments before; Not even E.n.d's unnerving metamorphosis. Just a dragon-demon and his most precious star with those subtle breaths, the visible rise and fall of her chest that somehow escaped any kind of major notice before.
Words can't even describe how relieved I am . Digits combed through Lucy's blonde tresses from crown to tip in a physical display of tender affection.
Hmm... Lucy's hair feels really nice. Natsu couldn't help but marvel at texture of her beneath his fingertips .Don't think I've ever stopped to fully appreciate it before .
"Gotta say that your hair feels really nice, Luce." Natsu voiced this innermost thoughts aloud; though his words were coming in soft. ."Smells real amazin' too."
Damn was the appealing fragrance of jasmine with a hint of cyclamen flooding his senses beyond intoxicating."like jasmine and that other flower we saw once— cyclamen, I think. . You've been using a new scented shampoo again, I see. Not that I'm complainin'."
"Psh—Listen to me" Natsu tacked on with a rueful chuckle that was still a bit thick from all that weeping before. " Gettin' all sentimental and crap. Hell... stripper would never even let me live it down if he heard . Still be damn proud of you though just like I am for how well you handled yourself in battle. Why don't we tell him all about it once you're awake and we're out of here?. Bet he'd like that . Till then, the two of us just need to sit tight and figure out our next move, okay?"
Wait ...
The fire demon's hands continued their fond movements- only for blood to freeze in his veins when noticing an unsightly contusion on Lucy's forehead; accented by a small gash just above her brow.
When did this happen? I swear those injuries hadn't there been seconds before .. .
Crimson eyes scanned his best friend's battered frame for further damage in alarm . My God... Natsu's breath caught in his throat at the sight of that line of discolorations on her legs . Not to mention all those scratches along with the small gash peeking out through the tattered remains of Lucy's Star dress .
"Oh Luce..." He sighed, remorseful voice breaking on her name. "Can see that you're in pretty rough shape right now. I'm so sorry. Honestly don't know how or why you had a delayed reaction to all the damage. But this wouldn't have happened if I only had grabbed you and run or got your spirits to transport you to their world, Hell— Maybe we could've both escaped and I could've helped kept you safe while figuring out this new demon form means for us together. Anyways, time to put pressure on your wound."
A hand tore a loose piece of fabric to apply pressure on the hemorrhaging wound. "See? You'll be okay . Gonnal get ya' all fixed up and good as new in no time ."
Damn Luce stills looks like an angel to me, Natsu mused in reverent admiration . Even with those injuries...
"Ooh- how cute!" Jackal's dervisie voice cut  through  the other demon’s reverie; whose arms automatically protectively tightened around Lucy's frame out of fierce instinct-automatic without a second though. Not to mention those two pair of eyes he could sense that set him on edge."
"Aw Damn." Jackal broke in again with a gleeful taunt that bordered on sadistic."That poor, pretty girl of you is covered in ugly bruises and scratches, Dragneel."
That little ...
Natsu's head automatically snapped around to meet Jackal with a baleful snarl. Damn was that all that black rage roaring in his veins all too consuming.
"There's that growling again" Jackal cackled, clearly unfazed at by the alpha demon's bared canines ." Bared fangs and what not. Such a shame what happened to Blondie here , or is it? You really did a number on her, huh Tempester?"
"Huh," Tempester mused, bland disinterest colouring his tone."it seems I did . Kind of forgot that my curses can sometimes have o delayed side effects on people . Who knows? That pathetic wrench might even have internal bleeding.
"You goddamned bastard!" The flame- eater raged, fury boiling over. "Lucy ain't pathetic or some kind of toy to play with ... God.. All those injuries… are you fault and . I swear that You're both gonna pay for what you did to her!"
"Oh-You think so?" Jackal scoffed with let out another infantilizing laugh —beyond infuriating .
"Someone's rattled." Tempster pointed out, listless eyes trained on the stone-brick wall ahead. "Unfortunate."
"You don't say," Jackal deadpanned, with a disdainful roll of the eyes ."But Seriously Though , E.N.D, do you even hear yourself? .I mean getting all riled up over a human girl in that way —talk about pathetic. Sure said girl is extremely beautiful with a killer bod and feisty personality to boot—I'll give you that. But is she worth losing your cool over or fraternizing with? I don't think so and neither should you . God knows all that pent up rage and aggression would be far more suited for another cause. Not to mention, you'd better off without her life tainting your judgement and hindering your full potential as the most powerful of all etherious. So let's resolve this, shall we? Hand over the celestial wizard and I'll gladly dispose of her for you . Sound good?"
" 'Sound good?'Sound Good?!’ Are you kidding me?"!
Good God did those last words only serve to incense the snarling dragon further.
" There's no way in hell I'm gonna give Lucy up or let either of you touch her!"
"Come on Dragneel-be reasonable."
"No-rot in hell!"
"Oh honestly E.N.D.-"
"My name is Natsu!"
"Well okay then, Natsu— Just calm down ." Jackal's couldn't seem to resist reprimanding the fire demon; as if he were some errant child pitching a fit ."You're being ridiculous. Anyways, tell you what. I promise to make her death as qui-"
"Shut up!"
" Quick and mostly painless..."
"I said shut up!" En.d's voice rose to an ear-splitting roar that could've struck terror into the hearts of the gods themselves. "Try anything on her and I swear I'll kill you!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Be Continued
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: Well that's Chapter 4 folks- hope you enjoyed! Now a bit more about the pandemic situation in Ontario . Like many other provinces and countries around the world,, the government of Ontario has opted to shut down/ temporarily close non-essential services, businesses, public spaces and institutions to help curb the spread of the virus for a few weeks (or more) before spring break. Such institutions include all schools and childcare centres/ services in those settings which applies to the childcare company I'm currently employed with. You know on account of most of their centres and programs being based in public schools. (Independently-run Daycares also remain closed. And yes i'm a ECE by trade for any who were wondering or didn't already). Schools and child cares were tentatively scheduled to reopen after April 5th; though the closures have been extended for another month (according to Doug Ford (the premier/leader of Ontario). Not ideal but at least it gives me some extra time for me to work on things alongside my writing(i.e editing upcoming chapters for fics and WIPS). All right folks, that's all I have to say on that subject.
As usual, please feel free to let me know what you think by leaving a comment/review , through a reblog or by any other means. Be sure to check out the rest of my writing while staying tuned for future updates of my fics and new projects along the way! (Links above, in the navigation and in bio If on tumblr . Also on fanfiction.) Anyway, take care and stay safe! Ta ta for now!

Chinese Tourism Surges to Canada While U.S. Visits Decline
Hainan Airlines has thrice weekly Beijing-Calgary flights, which are a great transfer point to Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies. Pictured is a Hainan Airlines photo posted on Facebook on June 29, 2017. Hainan Airlines
Skift Take: While demand for flights from China to the U.S. is down, it is rising to Canada, which is enjoying new peaks in Chinese arrivals. No Trump Slump in Canada, which is visa-friendly, welcoming and appealing to free-spirited millennials.
— Raini Hamdi
Editor’s Note: Skift launched a series, Gateway, as we broaden our news coverage geographically with first-hand, original stories from correspondents embedded in cities around the world.
We started with regular reports several times per month from tourism hubs Beijing, Singapore and Capetown. Gateway Beijing and Gateway Singapore, for example, signify that the reporters are writing from those cities although their coverage of the business of travel will meander to other locales in their regions. Read about the series here, and check out all the stories in the series here.
It’s not just that arrivals to Canada from China are reaching new peaks. New direct flights launched over a year ago are showing positive effects. In particular, they swing the demographics to millennials and, because these travelers tend to be independent and free-spirited, this helps reshape tourism to beyond Vancouver and Toronto.
Direct services such as Hainan Airlines’ thrice-weekly Beijing-Calgary, which launched in June 2016, and Air China’s thrice-weekly Beijing-Montreal service, which began in September 2015 (the first transpacific direct link between Asia and Montreal), are a fillip for central and eastern Canada to nab a share of Chinese travelers.
And it’s millennials who are driving growth, says Destination Canada’s managing director-China, Derek Galpin. There are around 250 million of them in China, he points out.
Alberta, for example, benefits from the Beijing-Calgary service, Calgary being a good jump-off pad to iconic attractions such as Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies.
The flights generate an average load factor of 80 per cent, says Karen Soyka, Travel Alberta’s vice president-business development. China is now Alberta’s largest and fastest-growing Asian market with 85,000 arrivals in 2015 (the latest figure available), and has a rise in millennial travelers, she says.
IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME
Last year saw an all-time high 610,000 Chinese arrivals to Canada, an increase of 24 per cent year-on-year, making China the third-largest market in arrivals after the UK and the U.S., and the second-largest in spending after the U.S.
The apparent surge of Chinese tourists to Canada in 2016 contrasts with U.S. Commerce Department figures for January to March (down 0.5 percent) and March 2017 (down 2.1 percent). U.S. President Trump’s anti-China rhetoric and travel bans undoubtedly is part of the reason for the decline.
It’s a huge leap in less than 10 years — in 2008, Canada welcomed only 160,000 Chinese visitors — and while all major destinations worldwide can claim a ‘me-too’ in growth when swarms of Chinese started traveling long-haul, Galpin says Canada has outperformed the rest.
“Of all the new destinations tourists from China are discovering, Canada is a top choice, and we’re expecting more strong growth at around 23 per cent this year,” he says.
Canada does have a bit of a head-start over other leading destinations, as more than 1.3 million Chinese Canadians live there, creating a healthy visiting friends-and-relatives market.
However, Canada was granted Approved Destination Status by China only in 2010. The EU got that designation in 2004, and the U.S. did in 2007. What spurred the exponential growth for Canada was more direct flights, while a 10-year multiple-entry visas for Chinese to Canada since 2005 also helped.
Overall, air seat capacity grew 26 per cent last year, with Canada now accessible from 11 gateway cities in China, and its four largest metropolitan areas are all served with non-stop flights from China. In the first half of this year, air seat capacity from China to Canada rose 36.9 per cent over the same period in 2016.
Canada is also in the right place at an opportune time. On the one hand, adventure travel, polar exploration and road trips have captured young Chinese travelers’ imaginations, and are expected to rise 52 per cent, 38 per cent and 75 per cent, respectively, over the next three years. That comes from a 2016 survey of wealthy Chinese millennials ages 18-36 conducted by Hurun Research Institute in conjunction with Marriott International.
“You can see from the launch of new direct flights how tourism is increasingly extending beyond British Columbia and Ontario,” says Galpin. “Northern Canada is also becoming increasingly popular for experiences like witnessing the magical Northern Lights, dog-sledding and polar bear encounters.”
KEY TO RESOLVING PEAKS AND TROUGHS
It’s just that Destination Canada needs to overcome its main challenge of increasing year-round tourism and spreading tourists to more places.
“Our huge tourism peak is in summer holidays, which is the same everywhere,” says Galpin. “The swing to young millennials aged 20-34 (also from its other key Asian destinations South Korea and Japan), making up 40 per cent of all visitors to Canada in the last three years, is the key to resolving this. First, they are more they are more flexible and willing to try alternative seasons, which can also provide good value. Secondly, they are looking for outdoor adventures and experiences, which we have in droves.”
Chinese-oriented features are taking shape.
“That’s why Asian-language hiking trail, canoeing and campground information is being developed for our National Parks. For off-season travelers, we promote the beauty of driving through colorful forests in the fall, such as the Lake Louise Wonderfall from September to October, and the Dark Skies Festival, when stargazers flock to Jasper National Park in winter. Much of Canada is transformed into a dazzling snowy wonderland through winter, so we also promote a variety of fun outdoor activities from ice festivals and dogsledding to sleigh rides, ice-skating and many other experiences that make Canada an exhilarating year-round destination.”
2018 will be the Year of China-Canada Tourism, which Galpin expects will greatly enhance cultural exchanges and result in “a big increase” in visitors between the two countries.
Destination Canada will continue to step up efforts in China, working closely with tourism partners and focusing marketing on millennials. Beyond traditional marketing and media outreach, it is engaging the digital connected travelers, many of them millennials. One way, the tourism board believes, is inviting online influencers to explore Canada and report their experiences to these readers.
China also necessitates a “mobile-first” approach, says Galpin. “The social channels we use include Weibo, WeChat and Today’s Headline and all are predominantly mobile. Our video distribution platforms including iQiYi, Youku, Headline News, Tencent and Sina are also accessed primarily through mobile devices.”

HOW TO SURVIVE A DAY WITHOUT GADGETS
Gadgets has been part of our daily life, because it can make the things we need to do more easier. For example our Smart phones, its just a one thing, but it can perform too much things. For example instead of using an alarm clock, we're just setting our phone to wake up us in the morning because it already has an alarm clock. Instead of writing on a memo pad the things we need to do or to remember, we're just typing it on our phone, instead of writing down what's written in the board we're just using our cameras phone or any other gadgets that we can use to capture everything on the board.
Instead of playing an outside door games to have some fun and some exercise were just sitting somewhere and play with our iPod, computer, phone, tablet, and any other gadgets that could give us satisfaction. Gadgets has been so helpful to us, it makes our life more easier and it seems like we can't live a day without it. Because we don't like a slow system that could eat us, we all want an instant, instant of every thing we need. But some of us don't know that instant of every thing could also eat us.
If gadgets has a lot of benefits to us, it also has some negative effects on us, first of all it can make us more lazy, specially students, instead of going to a library to research our assignments, we're just browsing in the internet and ask Google our every questions. Most of our time especially millennials are spent on their gadgets, instead of reading books, their phones became books. Using gadgets is not that bad, since it has a big help for us. But let us always remember that too much is too much.
Could we imagine a day without gadgets? There's nothing wrong if we try to live a day without it. And let just see how it feels, and let's see what are the differences. I have here some ways on how to survive a day without them, let us take a break from them, and see the world without them.
First thing that you need to is keep away from you your gadgets, make sure that you will place it on the place where you can't take it back easily, especially when you are tempted to open your Facebook account to see if you have some notifications, if you want to read some messages, to post a status, or tweet on Twitter, to watch videos on YouTube or to check an update on Instagram. It is way more better if you let someone hide your gadgets, someone that you can trust.
Then think of an activities that you can do without using gadgets. Make a plan then pray for it, submit it to God so it will be successful. Here are some activities you can do. Go to a very far place with you friends or with your family and bond together so you would not get bored. Go to a province where there is no signal. Explore like Dora, do the things you haven't did yet, do some outdoor activities, like hiking, water trekking, cave exploration, Stargazing, and any other outdoor activities.
You can also have some set of activities like curricular, attend some seminars, workshop's to develop your self, talents, skills, knowledge, or anything you want to develop. You can also do some simple things like you can sleep all day, eat all day, read books, clean your house. Make yourself busy, go to the mall and go shopping. Attend cooking class, do some exercise. Do your assignments without searching on Google but go to the library and do the searching. You can also volunteer on a feeding program.
Those are the activities you can do to interrupt yourself from using your gadgets. But to survive a day without gadgets you need to discipline yourself. And you need set a goal. You need to prove to yourself that you can live without it, that you can depend on yourself without depending on gadgets. It will be surely hard for you especially when your gadgets becomes your best friend. Just like what i said using gadgets in not that bad because it helps us a lot. But don’t just depend on it look into the other side of your world. There's so much great thing's that could satisfy you that your gadget can't give you.

"And she's thinking of rage, like an ember or a burning acid swallowing up her knotted viscera. Blindness like the kind that leads men to perpetrate horrors, animal drunkenness, the jungles of the mind. "
(Alden Bell: The Reapers Are The Angels, Reaper Series)
"If you lay a hand on her, I will destroy you.  I will rip your head off with my bare hands and watch you burn in the sun ."
(Dimitri Belikov: Vampire Academy, Book 1)
(What'd you know? Found two quotes that really fit the overall tone of this chapter again)
" You okay Natsu?"
Lucy's gentle call of Natsu's name broke through his reverie bringing his attention back to the present."
"Yeah Luce, just trying to figure out how to wrap my head around all this" came Natsu's reply, sincere words nothing but reassuring. The dragonslayer knew he mostly wasn't one to lie, but also didn't wish to run the of risk alarming his best friend any further than she was .
Besides, I am actually okay—for the most part . Just gotta try and stay positive for Lucy's sake.
Natsu did notice however, that if he concentrated just enough, he could actually will the newly-sprouted leathery wings to retract just enough until they were gone completely— a tremendous relief if nothing to say the least .
"What about you? How are ya ' holding up?"
"Not entirely well, but a bit better with you here . "
"I know, it's a lot to take in right now—believe me. But I promise we're gonna be okay."
"There's not a doubt in my mind but what're we going to do?"
"We'll figure it—"
The sound of approaching footsteps echoing on stone broke through their conversation putting Natsu's senses on high alert. It was then to the realization dawned upon the fire demon that in all the mayhem, he'd forgotten they weren't alone; mentally cursing himself for having let such a critical fact slip his mind. Not to mention the sinking knot in settling the pit of his stomach when it was the demon Tempester, Natsu lifted his head to see striding towards them with a sinister expression; which raised his hackles enough for his lips to pull back revealing a flash of canines in a savage show of teeth.
"What do you think you're doing?!" He growled, a flare of stonecold fury ticking through scarlet eyes, The sound of his warning was downright ferocious, not to mention lethal with the threat of violence if the other etherious even so much as tried to lay a hand on Lucy. "Stay the hell away from us!"
Tempester merely raised a hand in response as if to silence him, clearly not deter any of Natsu's feral growls ripping from his chest.
"Easy there Lord E.N.D— no need to be so hostile" The etherious's voice was seemingly unruffled , a chillingly stark contrast to the malicious smile gracing his lips—so much so it sent off alarm bells off in Natsu's head. "I only wished to officially welcome you to our ranks as Master for which congratulations are in order. You've finally returned home to us, all while starting to realize your true potential in the process—though we didn't know it was you at first. Still, it's good to have you back after being away so long Now allow me to be of service by disposing of the celestial wizard for you as an act of good faith."
The thinly- veiled threat kicked Natsu's already fiercely protective instincts to keep Lucy safe into high-gear, manifesting in another guttural snarl of bestial proportions he let loose when his arms automatically tightened against her of their own accord at the same time.
"Touch her you bastard and I swear I'll burn ya' to a crisp!"
If he even tries anything... I swear to God...
Something strange seemed to stirring within Natsu just then, the infinite possibilities of all the unimaginable amount of the blood he could spill if the other demon didn't heed the warning ; appealing to a darker part of him that was once dormant. His words clearly seemed to fall on deaf ears however, when Tempester took another step forward—which only served to make the dragonslayer's blood boil.
"Hey! didn't you hear what I just said? stay back—don't come any closer!" Natsu hissed, baleful voice laced with venom that bordered on lethal. "Unless you want me to incinerate you you stand." One of his hands not pressed against Lucy's back was immediately engulfed in flames to empathize his point at the same time.
Pretty sure I could quite literally roast this guy if I have to. I'm not afraid to have little blood on my hands if it means protecting Lucy.
The ominous-sounding, residual, voice Natsu heard earlier seemed to stir again ; whispers echoing in the recesses his mind of just how easy it would be to set Tempester blaze, quite literally going up in flames without so much as being touched. Thoughts swimming, tempting Zeref's most powerful etheriouswith sadistic images of sizzling flesh melting off bone, blood vessels rupturing, liquified internal organs being broiled from the inside out until there was nothing left of the worthless lesser demon- scum known as Calamity but a charred pile of ashes. Oh the demon lord thirsted for this bastard's blood, how he's—-
Wait— just what the hell am I thinking?! Natsu railed against himself. I may be a demon, but I'm not some bloodthirsty monster! Butchering people like that ain't my style—not anymore anyway. God... what's wrong with me? Still , I'm gonna keep Lucy safe regardless of who or what I am.
"Master, if you just hand the girl over me I promise to make her death as swift and painless as possible."
Tempester's coldblooded voice snapped the fire wizard out of his reverrie.
"Not a chance ! There's no way in hell that I'm giving Lucy up to you!"
"Oh? Is that you already exercising your authority I hear?" Tempester praised, words pulling the corner of lips up into a smirk as if caught was between genuine amusement and pride. "I'm impressed."
"Yeah? Well that's just too damn bad, cuz I couldn't give a crap bout being your stupid master!"
" Yes, well, you might feel that way now but you'll change your mind— you'll see. It's only a matter of time before you realize who you're truly meant to be and help restore our guild. Not to mention remake this pathetic world in our image."
It was then that Lucy finally opted to speak up who no doubt probably had been watching the tense encounter with uneasy eyes up until this point.
"You're clearly out of your mind if that's what you think Natsu is all about!" She seethed , honey-brown eyes, alight with a obstinate fire. "Don't you dare you talk about Natsu as if you know him! He's not the monster you say he is—not anymore!"
"Oh really? That so, little girl?" Tempester's scoffed , disdain colouring his patronizing tone. " Now tell me— why should I listen to pointless chatter from a pathetic human like you ?
"Cuz she's right,"The son of Igneel's words rang with steely conviction when he chimed in response to the other etherious . "And definitely not pathetic. In fact, hearing you run your god damn rotten mouth about her like that makes me want to help her bash your ugly face in." Hearing Lucy's words of faith was honestly enough for his heart to trill, Tempester's of utter contempt in regards to his best friend for his blood to boil; All in all, steeling his nerves for combat.
"Yeah? I'd sure as hell like to see that!"
"Oh, you will— trust me."
His body automatically steeling himself for battle, Natsu pledged a vow to keep his the celestial mage safe from harm.
No matter what happens, I swear I'm gonna do whatever it takes to protect Lucy and to fight this darker part of me for everyone's sake . I will prove this Calamity bastard who think he knows me wrong, not to mention make everyone I love and care for proud— especially Igneel, Lucy and Happy.

A Fire Dragon, His Princess and The Not-So-Terrible Party Aftermath: Chapter: 1 (Nalu Week 2020)
A Fire Dragon, His Princess and The Not-So-Terrible Party Aftermath
Nalu week 2020 Prompts: Voice, Flirt, Charm & Smile(All implied)
Genres: Romance, Humor, New Adult Fanfiction
Pairing: Nalu/Endlu (Natsu x Lucy & E.n.d. Natsu x Lucy)
Rating: M for language, steamy and mature/adult sexual content (all consensual) in these and future chapters. Reader Discretion is advised.(You've been warned!)
Summary: God knows it was all fun and games at an outdoor guild party until a drinking contest results in a not-so-great time for a certain celestial wizard much to the dismay of a protective dragon slayer and company. Even worse is Lucy's hangover with some kind of mild flu and busted ankle to boot . At least a doting Natsu is more-than-willing to provide his mate plenty of TLC. One of my entries for @nalu-week 2020  and part of the Nalu-centric anthology series The Dragon Demon and His Celestial Princess anthology series (slight au/ canon divergent).

" The friction between my words and your fantasy is making the atmosphere erotic."
(Soraya Marcelo: Twitter)

"There you go baby - everything's ready now. It should be perfect for tonight. A guild picnic at dusk and bonfire under the stars, was it?"
"Yep, that's what Mira told us. Even said so on the Magicbook * page for the event. My friends from other guilds like Sabertooth will be attending too— a bunch responded."
"Awesome baby!"
"It really is. Thanks for helping me get ready by the way, Cancer!"
"Anytime. Have fun tonight!"
"Will do— thank you! "
"All right-catch you later, baby!"
"See ya!"
" Wow—- You look beautiful, Luce."
Natsu's arms encircled Lucy's waist from behind with the soft pressure of his lips on her shoulder; which sent a tingly shiver down her spine.
"Not that ya' didn't before. He amended, a fond smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Not to mention those striking emerald eyes the celestial mage could drown in. "You always do."
Major fan of this whole look.
"I still can't believe I got such a gorgeous angel as my mate and queen. How am I this lucky?"
"Dunno. How'd you ever get so sentimental?" Lucy shot back, a teasing lilt to her words. (She couldn't help but lean back into his arms ). "If Gray could only hear you now ...but yeah, I really like all this too ."
Golden half-braided hair framed the face of Lucy's reflection in a floral-mini, skater dress; who was gazing back through a mirror. Topping the whole ensemble together was a pair of Grecian-style wedges on her feet that were to die for.
"Still can't believe you're officially mine" the dragon slayer breathed, voice thick with reverent awe. "I love you so much."
"L-love you too... hmm."
The celestial wizard let out a soft hum of bliss from the peppering of feathery-light kisses on her neck leading to her collarbone just after a nuzzle.
"Y-You trying to distract me Natsu?" she inquired, voice coming out as breathy to her own ears. God, the sensation of Natsu's scorching lips on the celestial mage's creamy skin was scattering all train of thought— almost too much to handle!
It's really hard to think right now...
"Hmm.. just maybe I am, sweetheart," came the dragonslayer's reply, timbre, a languid drawl against her skin. "Is it working?"
"Yes," was all Lucy could utter, eyes drifting shut from the sweep of his hand up the curve of her neck in a single caress. Oh and the appealing sensation of a blonde tendril being dragged through his deft fingers was an added bonus too!
"Good," The vibrations of the fire wizard 's throaty chuckle sent sparks ripping across the summoner's nerves; which effectively turned the celestial mage's knees to mush.
"That's what I was aiming for ."
"It is?"
"Yep. Did I mention how amazing you smell?" He rumbled, pulling another shiver out of his mate. "Your natural scent now permanently mixed with mine..."
Dear God, the enticing charisma of this man- so natural! Who was she deny the incredibly overpowering ecstasy exploding through her veins with how the demon hybrid's nose was pressed against the crook of her neck?.
"And is that a hint of jasmine perfume I'm catching a whiff of?"
"Mhmm..."  Goddamn-  how extremely apparent  that Lucy was pretty much rendered incapable of forming any type of response other than a single ,answering hum.
"Thought so-pretty intoxicating if ya' ask me."
"Um..."
It was then Lucy couldn't help but wonder what Natsu's ultimate end game was. No doubt the man was successful in efforts to ensare her with his devilish charms— but where did he intend for it to all lead? Did any of his plans entail steamy kissing marathons on the couple's bed? Slow-burn love-making beneath the sheets, wild romps all over their apartment? Just what if it could be?
Holy hell— that pulsating of liquid heat pulsating that shot between to the keyholder's core from the scintillant flash of images flooding her mind .
Supple digits unzipping the back of her dress, an insatiable Natsu pinning her against a wall, being lightly tossed onto the bed by said dominant dragon slayer, all-too-welcome lips leaving a high-voltage trail of electricity down her bare form before...
"Crap... the time."
Just for that little fantasy bubble to burst once Natsu pulled away from Lucy; who bit back a noise of protest at the loss of contact.
"Eh sorry, Luce," he apologized, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish grin. "Didn't mean to lose track of the time like that. Either way, we should probably start heading over if we don't wanna be late."
"Okay..." Lucy let out a sigh, not able to stop the wave of mild disappointment from washing over her.
"Aw come on now, weirdo!" Natsu wheedled, light-hearted amusement coloring his tone. "No need to be so glum! Tonight's gonna be fun, remember?"
"I know." Lucy conceded, with a faint smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "Should be great to spend time with our friends from Fairytail and other guilds. " Her spirits couldn't help but be lifted by the pyro's sunny mood.
Him and that infectious grin of his...
"Great! That's the spirit!" He crowed , planting a light peck on Lucy's cheek;aka the reason for the slight flush of scarlet .
"Tonight's gonna be awesome !"
"It sure will ."
"Definitely!"
"Oh, and one more thing," Natsu paused to shoot Lucy a lingering glance. "Just a little tiny something."
" What that might be?"
"Your outfit. I was thinking that maybe it could use a little extra piece to complete the look? Like, say that necklace I gave you?"
" Oh… that gorgeous pendant? You know what, yeah! Great idea-Thanks Natsu!"
"My pleasure. And pretty sure I saw said pendant in your jewelry box. Lemme' grab it for you."
"Sure thing!"
"Great then- so it's settled!"
"You bet!"

A/N: Magicbook is a fictional social media app and site for all magic users and citizens in Earthland- aka the Fairytail equivalent of its counterpart in real life Facebook- in case anyone was wondering. Just a little sidenote about the chronological order for the timeline each fic in my TDDAHCP anthology series.
1. Fire And Gold(prequel)
2. Tantric Flames
3. A Dragon, His Princess and the Not-So Terrible Party Aftermath(this fic)
Figured I'd provide a little guide about the chronological order in terms of how each fic in this series takes place. Anyway, that's pretty much all for now until the next chapter. Hoped you enjoyed the first installment and please free to let me know what you think by dropping a review/comment!
Once again, don't forget to check out my other Nalu week entries along with the rest of my writing! Also be sure to stay tuned for chapter 3 of Fire and Gold which will be posted ASAP once I have a chance to finish the edits and format! Did I mention my other upcoming Nalu/FT projects in the works! Bet you're all fired now as Natsu would say! Oh and why not check out the rest of Nalu week submissions from the other incredibly talented writers and artists while you're at it? (Corresponding links to all my writing and profiles can be found above in this post, the navigation bar and bio if reading this on tumblr. Also on my respective FF and A03 accounts.) Thanks again to everyone for their incredible show of support ! Until next time-take care!
