the fact that detective inspector jack robinson just rolled with phryne’s tactics of sneaking behind the police force’s backs in england without even missing a beat, aside from that one resigned ‘we???’ at the church after the first guy died, shows once again that jack is all about doing the right thing and getting to the truth of the matter and not about bureaucracy and “proper” channels. also he is 100% taking note of all of phryne’s tactics so that she wouldn’t be able to use them against him anymore when they get back to melbourne.

okay so apparently the movie was on one of our tv channels tonight and my friend and I nearly missed it (thankfully only nearly) and i love the ending scene (although i wish for more) and most of phrack scenes but the plot was too fantasyish for me. hopefully there will be more in the future.

I deeply love the TV show and specifically the chemistry and relationships in the TV show but the movie honestly feels rather... Empty.
It probably doesn't help that it's leaning heavy into the Indiana Jones vibes while I'm more of an Agatha Christie watcher who doesn't care too much about mythology in this setting/would rather this show be more grounded. Or that so much of the show's core cast is absent. Or that I as a white person am not a great judge of Middle East plotlines but it feels all very ~excotic~ to me.

I decided that I was going to spoil the Miss Fisher movie for myself, because every attempt I've made so far, something has gotten in the way. Then I looked in Tumblr, and oh my god *that* scene
