So, the first week of Tsukutabe season 2 is behind us!! 4 new episodes out, and I'm just so delighted to have them on screen again, both with the old charm and warmth, and a fresh feeling of novelty. Not just with the new characters - it really feels as if the whole series has gotten an upgrade. New locations, more fluid and fancy editing with the new opening sequence. Plus, Sayama got a haircut! I also really loved the throwback to the very first episode of Nomoto speaking to the wall in a dramatic fashion. It really gives the impression of "We're back!!"!

Speaking of Sayama, I love that she was kept around as a character, despite her not being in the original manga. It's nice to have her carry over from season 1 and be a buddy to Nomoto after she's already made such a big impact on her and been so supportive of her journey before. And also, she's just a fun character :D I am curious however how much she and Yako will both help Nomoto with her self-discovery - in the manga, Nomoto has no friends except for Kasuga and then Yako (& Sena), so all of her talking about her sexuality is with Yako, who is a lesbian herself, versus now all these talks about love and dating have been with Sayama, who is straight. I'm curious to see what they do with all of that.

The biggest new thing so far has been the introduction of new character Nagumo Sena, the middle neighbor! And I'm seriously so happy with what they've done with her in these 3 episodes she's been in now. She's exactly as quiet, awkward, and nervous as I imagined her to be, without it feeling over the top or cringey. She's just an anxious kid, but I feel that she's really gonna open up. Her 1on1 interactions with Kasuga are cute, and awkward too, the two of them are just both so alike and quiet that it made me chuckle a bit. Still, Kasuga immediately gives off the feeling of wanting to take care of her too, and it's gonna be really nice watching them become friends.

On a smaller scale, obviously we're gonna be putting our two mains through the ringer again. Nomoto is already going through it, giving her personal journey more and more thought as she delves deeper into lesbian culture (I guess?). Watching movies (and crying about it, she is so me), connecting with others on social media, and seriously thinking about her feelings for Kasuga and how far they go. Similarily, Kasuga is (probably? hopefully?) gonna have her own big story arc this season, some of which has already been teased for next week. I'm so excited for that to play out and see how they adapt it.

It's also nice to see the two of them in slightly new formations. With new characters joining the gang and with their relationship becoming tighter and tighter, now they speak in unison more often, spur each other on, talk honestly to each other... and stand shoulder to shoulder, a shot that we haven't seen much yet but that I just love!! (height difference...)

I'm so glad the show is back and better than ever. The girls are cooking. Literally. And also falling in love of course.

You should ABSELOUTLY try listening to the mechanisms and poor mans poison. Pmp have some songs i associate with stormlight in the album "providence". The mechs have amazing concept albums/rock operas.

okay ngl I did lie a little bit cause I did listen to Ulysses Dies at Dawn once. And while the art is incredible tbh most of the music just didn't really do it for me except for Favored Son (rocky road to dublin go brrr) and The City (she mono on my logue till I've told a labyrinthine twisted task of a tale) but I'm very unfamiliar with everything else about those artists.

I will definitely give.providence a listen on my way home from work though

The filling and refilling of a glass of beer. Or two. Vestibules of differing heights, different measures.

A sniff of the past and the nostalgia seeps in: tears, questions, what-if's. Why?'s Leading to further queries and ponderings of significance and fate. Reflection of the late night phone calls, what they meant (if anything). Knowing, that you once shared a piece of yourself with this person and they made you feel safe, and whether they knew it or not, you weren't good enough for them. Or they were too good for you. Whether it was the truth or not, it's what you believed, and in your egocentric youth, knew that the only possibility was that they, too, believed things the same way as you.

Maybe that's a fault I've been blessed with from my family line

Maybe it's a way of coping,

Of not getting too attached. Knowing, inherently, in my very genes, that letting someone in leads to hurt, devastation, an end to living in the only way you know it exists

I sit here coughing, wondering, contemplating my very existence. Daily, skeptical of why or if I [should] exist.

The darker days behind me for now, but knowing they can come back like an unwelcome house guest at any given moment. Knowing, the slightest of triggers may shake this unstable foundation and once again pull me down to my roots, barely holding their footing in the loose soil

I know I can find my way back up to sunlight. I can see the sky, the clouds.

Today it's not blocked or obscured by grey, rain, misery.

It is bright.

It is warm.

I feel life. I might just continue to survive.

I torture myself each second my guard is down (sometimes, I feel the sunny days are the worst for that - that false sense of security lending to a false sense of okayness, an even keel). It's at the least suspecting moments I pounce, picking away at some deep wound, still tender under years of scar tissue and what I thought was called healing.

Yet, I still poke. And I still react. And I'm still human, expecting for some miraculous change, expecting that maybe I will lose touch with my limbic system, and that For Once and For All, my sensitivities will deplete. That I will face the world without feeling every inch of every thing like it is digging under several layers of skin. That my egocentrism will fade away and I won't assume everyone is talking about me when they speak in hushed voices (or are they really just out of earshot and they'renotactuallytalkingaboutmebutimnotactuallysureandsothe a n x i e t y c r e e p s b a c k in.)

And take a deep breath because you've forgotten to breathe yet again. Your head is filling with blood and your brain is on a tangent while your body's oxygen supply is depleted. Your poor body.

Moral of the story: Be aware of your internal mono/dia/omni-logue. It really shapes your emotional weather.

This post started as a couple of words about dreams. Man, that escalated quickly. Feels good, though.

It causes me pain to type. My fingers no longer respond to my brain the way they used to. Maybe it's my phone. I don't know.

I know auto-correct has made me lazier than pie, chillin' on a cooling rack. Shiet.

when Itsuki immediately decides upon meeting Fuyu that her real (Chinese) name was too hard to pronounce, so she just calls her the Japanese version of it - Fuyu. like girl you literally JUST met you could be a little more respectful ABXLSHFKS

Fuyu is, explicable only by her immediately catching gay feelings, alright with this.

the mention during the concert that txt is going on a third world tour next year has me seriously worried bc it will be their third straight year of touring, and when they're not touring they're either working on a comeback or preparing for a special performance (like lolla or year-end awards shows). the boys have had barely any time to rest and personally i would rather have them take a looooong break next year even if it means postponing the tour

not to mention that having a tour later rather than sooner means that 1) fans have more time to save up for concert tickets, assuming the next tour will have similar stops and 2) more time to have another comeback or two and change up the setlist when a tour does happen

my worry right now is that because all the bts members are doing their military service, bighit is going to push txt more to make up for (temporarily) losing their biggest source of revenue. and that scares me bc as much as they love moas and love performing they're still human?? we already saw the members getting sick this year, iirc yeonjun got sick twice and taehyun was actually sick when i saw him live. i really don't want them to burn out and/or compromise their health :( even if they feel fine now i fear what this will do to their health and well being in the long term

Do you think ghosts and Boos can get hiccups?

Ghosts can experience hiccups through something called “mortal echoes”—an odd phenomenon where the spectral form of a previously living entity mimics the biological functions of their mortal body. It’s not a true hiccup, just a bizarre "memory" of one. This applies to other behaviors/reactions as well; sweating and shivering, for example. No one knows why/how it happens, only that it is entirely subconscious.

Boos (and spirits in general) cannot get hiccups, as they lack the physical means to do so. They can’t experience it vicariously through mortal echoes, either, because they never had a mortal body to begin with.

Though I must say, if it were possible, it could lead to some awkward moments. 🤔
