visited my mom’s side of the family, despite we’ve been estranged for a few years. grandma started crying for a bit, but it was still nice. i really missed my grandma’s cooking. my aunt said she’ll make me a book of her recipes, probably for my birthday but we’ll see. 

my aunt gave me a little palmistry hand statue which is very nice. usually that side of the family is kinda “xyz is the devil’s work” so it was surprising but i really like it. it’s also my exact hand side which is interesting. 

had some arroz con gandules and turkey and potatoes. i had like 3 plates, it was so good. and they gave me some to take home.

1. Are you a religious witch? If so, what religion do you follow?

Yes, I’m Heathen and Satanic both, among other things. 

2. If you work with any deities, which ones do you work with?

I am oathed to Loki and Lucifer. 

I also worship: Hela, Sigyn, Angrboda, Freyr, Tyr, Fenrir, Hodr, Nerthus, Skadi, Lilith, Samael, Baphomet, and Cain. I also worship other pop and modern culture gods, but I only talk about that on my sideblog. 

3. Do you write your own spells?

Yes, I don’t usually cast spell other people made. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, I just vibe better with my own creations. 

4. What is your sun, moon and rising sign?

Capricorn Sun, Aries Moon, Gemini Rising, Aquarius Midhaven. 

5. What type of witch are you?

Shadow and Dark Witch, sometimes I call myself Myrkona since I incorporate the “darker” aspects of Heathen practice but that’s splitting hairs to a point. 

6. What types of magick do you do?

I utilize shadow work and divination the most, to reveal the shadow of myself and learn and expand from it, as well as use the shadow of others. 

I also incorporate Galdr and Seidr in my magic, which are norse practices. 

After that, I use local herbology, dreams, astral, and glamours, although most of these things are supplementary to my shadow work. My main type of spell is curse when not simply tranced or divining for my own personal growth. 

7. What time of the day/night do you do your magick? Any specific hours/ time-frame?

I usually make spells between 2000 and 0300 (8pm-3am). I’m a night owl. However, I usually try to wake early in the morning (7am-9am) for glamours, specifically. 

8. What are your favorite crystals?

Black tourmaline, obsidian, amethyst, fluorite. 

9. What are your favorite types of spells?

When it comes to “spells” I do less spellwork and more personal growth work in the form of trance and sigils and the like. However, I do have a general pattern, I guess.

Curses would be one of my main types. Siphoning curses/spell to drain my enemies of their good and give it to myself - might as well make use of it if theyre not going to have it. 

I also do a lot of staves and sigils for various prosperity and fortunes, and use my makeup as a glamour ritual. 

10. How new are you to the craft? & what brought you to it? 

No, I’ve been at it for about 10 years. I started off with simple divination in middle school, just because it was cool n stuff. I dabbled in Satanism, unfortunately the JoyOfSatan kind before I moved on and realized what they were, and they had their own brand of spellwork that I used to try before getting into learning different kinds of things. I started off working with glamours before I got into shadow work, and then I got into using norse magic, later. 

11. Do you have a familiar?

No. I used to, but I no longer do. I don’t think I will have another for quite some time. 

12. Favorite divination methods? 

All of them, every single one. Cards, dice, tea, bones, i ching, coins, rocks, random bits of stuff in my pocket, shufflemancy, you name it I have tried it and I love it. My go-to is with my miniature rider-waite deck, but that’s because it’s the most familiar to me after doing it for 10 years, but honestly I love all divination and specifically seek out new methods. 

13. In the broom closet or out? 

I’m out. It’s usually one of the first things I mention about myself since it’s a huge aspect of my life. 

14. Are you an LGBT+ witch?

Yes, and the community can’t rip that away from me no matter how much they want to. 

15. Do you believe in past lives? If so, do you know anything about your possible past lives?

I do, and I would prefer to avoid anything abotu my past life, forever and always. I know Some but it’s enough to warrant that I Do Not look back. 

16. Do you have any other family members that are witches or Wiccans?

Fuck no. Half of my family are Christian Zealots and the other half are Anti-Religion/Spirituality. How on earth did they meet, I have no idea. 

17. Do you have any friends that are witches or Wiccans?

Yeah, a couple. I dont know if I have any Wiccan friends but I have other witch friends, and some of my friends who are neither tend to help me out or partake in my shenanigans as the good sports they are. 

18. Are you a witch that suffers from any mental illnesses?

Unfortunately, yes.

im still getting details and writing out feats/levels/etc in a doc, but im so excited. 

once my jeep gets fixed my friends and i should be able to make characters next weekend, and hopefully be on a consistent schedule. im so pumped to try and put my “deviants in detroit” (dnd ahah) all into action.

I’ve always worried that I wouldn’t enjoy communicating with Loki because he seems uncaring and unloving. Can you feel any true protection and feel cared about when working with Loki? Do you trust each other? I just worry about his trickster demeanor.

First, I will preface by saying my oath to him is specific and my loyalty to him is beyond fervent, and because of that I don’t talk about it often, at least not without prompting or beyond a near-scripted reply to “what’s Loki like?” or similar asks. It sometimes Alarms people how I feel about Loki. If I were to be completely honest about how much I trust him, I would walk into fire if he asked me to, but I also trust that he wouldn’t ask me to do that seeing as that’d be terrifying and foolish. There are no words for how deeply I trust him, my fervent loyalty to him lies very deep, and that’s specifically my personal choice. 

Loki can be extremely caring and loving, and any kind of “tricks” he’s played on me have always had a purpose, and sometimes that purpose is as small as “I want an offering!” or as big as “You need to change yourself for the better, right now.” Honestly, he can be aggressively caring or aggressively loving. He doesn’t sugar coat things for me, but that’s what I need from him. Brutal truths - and not the kind people say are brutal truths just because they want to be assholes, but the kind of brutal truths to make a person become a better person, genuinely, when need be. 

He’s also known as the Father of Monsters by some (including myself), and is considered a patron in our post-modern era of queer and neurodivergent people, most likely due to the general queer-coding and neurodivergent coding of monsters, villains, etc in society. I would give credit to Loki for the reason I am well and secure, the reason I’ve gotten enough strength in me to overcome my illnesses and shortcomings and have grown over the many years . He’s the fire under your ass to get you to do important shit, the fire on a torch to light your way, but its up to you how you handle the flame. It can burn just as easily as it can illuminate. 

Loki is by far the most caring and protective deity I worship, I am specifically oathed to him for that reason. 

You should communicate with Loki yourself to figure out which facet he will show you, because he will most certainly not be the same individual to you that I or another worshiper sees him as, that’s specifically his whole shtick. He can be abrasive, certainly, but I wouldn’t call him unloving or uncaring. 

To quote myself from my Personal Correspondences Post

Loki, to me, is a Father. He is there when I need him. He knows when to take me seriously and not, he’s kind, very warm, but will also give me a kick in the ass if and when I need it. He has helped me grow much as a person. He’s taken care of me, he’s helped me, he’s supported me, he makes stupid dad jokes. (…) No matter how I feel about myself, whether I feel that I am horrible, that I am a “monster,” he doesn’t tell me I’m not - he says “So what?” - and that is the most supportive thing anyone has done for me. That perhaps I am a monster but I can still grow and become something to be proud of, that monsters can learn to control themselves and revel in what they are all the same. (…)

I do, in fact, feel protected by him and cared for by him. When I begin to feel particularly corrosive like I was years ago, he comes back to coax me out of that mindset, to tell me it will pass, I will change, shedding a new layer. 

Sorry if my personal relationship with him sounds Fanatical™ but I’d not have it any other way. Like I said, it would probably be better to ask other worshipers their experiences as well since mine is particularly Out There.

He’s a complex, cynical character whose personality is the definition of black and white morality. The Hound from Game of Thrones, hes such an asshole but his edges soften up a little bit throughout. Still an asshole, though. Half his face was burned by his brother for touching his toys when they were kids. Hes afraid of fire. Ruvik from The Evil Within, super genius scientist, abused in childhood, suffered from a fire, decided to take revenge on the scientists who stole his work among other things. Kanna from Inuyasha, an extension of the main villain she uses a mirror to show whats happening elsewhere. 

Row 3: 

Black Lady from Sailor Moon, a corrupted version of Chibi Usa because she felt unloved by everyone, especially her parents, and decided to take over the moon kingdom after she became possessed by an Evil ThingThe Man In Black, a real sonuvagun from Westworld. Honestly his existence is a spoiler. Red Dragon from the movie Red Dragon - The actual person is Francis Dohlarhyde who was abandoned as a baby by his mom and constantly beaten and abused by his grandmother who refused to get him a reconstructive surgery he needed. He became “The Red Dragon” to murder/rape his victims (not necessarily in that order). Real sick fuck. The Count from Gankutsuou, which is just The Count of Monte Cristo as an anime, but instead of 1800s in France its the 3000s and in space.

Row 4:

Kuja from Final Fantasy 9, hes made out to be a minor villain until about halfway its revealed hes the Actual Big Bad. He’s a cruel pretty boy in a crop top, thong, thigh high combo. Elesh Norn from Magic the Gathering, shes a religious leader of a hivemind bent on assimilating all planes across the multiverse into the “perfection” of fusing flesh and metal. Ofelia from Pan’s Labyrinth, a little girl who lives in-between a fantasy world as a princess and the “real” world in which her step-father is a nationalist and her mother becomes ill. White Diamond, recently revealed at SDCC for Steven Universe. Everyone practically agrees she has a very cold abusive mother vibe. Naraku from Inuyasha, main villain, got mad that a priestess who healed his wounds didnt love him, decided to fuck up everyones life forever because of it

In case yall wanted to see some old pics of where I live

First 3 are pics around the road I drive. About 6 miles of empty land, mostly used for neighbors’ cows and horses. 

Pics 4 + 5 are my front and back yard respectively, the driveway is long and goes all the way around the house. Pic 6 is to the right of the front yard, looking down the cliff. Pic 7 is around the same area, closer to the back yard. Just a cool dead tree with some birbs.

Last two are when a distant neighbor’s llamas got out and we helped heard them back a bit.

Do you work with goetic entities? If so, do you do traditional summonings? and what advice would you have?

Sometimes I do, yes, but I havent had the chance to perform a complete By-The-Book summoning so I usually avoid talking to demons unless I have something really pressing, and I usually have a couple go-to demons to call, who dont mind the lack of full ritual. 

Amon is the easiest to work with for me, and he doesn’t mind the lack of proper circles or triangles. I usually draw the protective seal on my chest, and use either a large paper or a large square wood to draw the demon seal. 

So, not all demons are going to get angry or throw a fit if you dont do everything exactly by the Book, but some do, and some require it. 

Make sure you have some sort of a script ready as not to waste a demon’s time. In my earlier workings I fumbled with my words and Stolas got upset and left. Amon tends to be very patient.

Make sure whatever you want to ask, say, demand, request, etc is clear and understandable. While usually demons may understand what you mean, some take things very literally or skewed or just plain dont understand and do their best. I asked upon Aim to curse the home of someone who had hurt me, and, well. He did. But it wasn’t the right person. Don’t be coy for the sake of purple, flowery speaking. Just because the keys and callings are written real fancy doesnt mean you have to be. Dont beat around the bush. 

Always have, at the bare minimum, a protective seal either around you or on you, physically drawn. Chalk is usually the preferred method for the floor or similar, but I sometimes use charcoal on paper or wood and paint on myself. 

The binding triangle is there for a reason, and while some demons are nice enough to not try anything without it, I would recommend to at least draw it around the demon’s seal anyway.

How would you describe your craft/ magic style or tradition?

My current url I believe is fitting for one facet, “Nightmarist.” I do shadow work and I am a shadow witch, but my nuanced focus is nightmares, fear, and anxiety, to learn from my own and to cause it in others. 

Been flirting with the idea of calling myself a Myrkwitch or Myrkona, in which Myrk means darkness in Norse (and also can indicate the reverse of something depending on context) and kona means woman, which is usually an add-on to other norse paths (seid-kona and spa-kona for example). 

I work not just in shadow but in venom and the poison path of my local area, which includes toxins, hallucinogens, and aphrodisiacs. The dosage makes the poison and all. I also work in galdr (norse rune magic), graldrastafir (norse rune staves), and some seidr. I wouldnt call myself a spakona or volva or typical norse words because I dont quite align to them. I can’t call myself a bruja because I only know some of my local brujeria and regardless of my using local brujeria doesnt quite mean I’d call myself a bruja either. 

I also work in some Left Hand Path magic. I wouldnt call myself a ceremonial or traditional witch, because just like all these other things, it’s not the entirety of my path, but I do use it. And, well, The Left Hand Path, especially with a Satanic touch is about as adversaric (myrk) as you can get. 

So what I call myself is usually just a witch, or shadow witch. 

Ultimately, my path is always about myself. I come first, before anything, even if that means I have to get rid of something or someone else. 

I carved my own path through the brambles, and I recycled those brambles into something I can use.

Not much tbh, I only really made the wand, and I use the bones on the Red Cloth for divination.

The bones on the Blue Cloth I have no idea what to do with. Maybe I’ll draw sigils on the hollow shank (the little round thing) and use it similar to a faery stone, and I usually use the horse ribs as spell pieces to charge but I don’t really know what else to use them for. I hate spirit work but I haven’t found anything other than energy work.
