mother waking you up, telling you that you have a big day ahead and putting a blindfold on you before leading you to your crate situated in the trunk of her car- nothing unusual for you anymore, its just how mommy brings you around, "we cant let the nice civilized people see your sinful body, honey" she'd tell you until it stuck. minutes go by, then hours, your drugged up head cant really keep track of time anymore -sometimes you get a glimpse at mommy's watch and you cant even understand what the little hands on the clock are saying- not that you need to worry about it anyway, your brain having been permanently rewired by mother into a constant haze of dumb joy.

the car shuddering to a stop, mom pulling you out and onto a hard gravel road. one that felt somehow... familiar. she drags you by the leash up elevated ground, stopping for a second before you hear the loud ringing of a doorbell. mommy rips your blindfold off, and you're struck by the view of your childhood home, the same door you'd walked in and out of for years and years as a child. you feel you should worry, but worry is an emotion you havent felt in ages. you can only look dumbly forward as the door swings open, and an older couple appears in its doorway. you perk up so excited to meet them, just like a good pet, but their faces are plastered with a mixture of disgust and shock. you see their mouths open, and noises come out, byt mom hadnt told you to hear, so you didnt. the noises are loud, and angry, making tinges of fear prickle your body with goosebumps. you look closer at the two's faces and flashbacks of familiar moments, hidden deep, drive through your skull. mom? dad? it doesnt make sense- mommy's your mom, yet you are filled with memories of this woman as your mother. the woman stealing your favourite games and throwing them away, the man berating you as you came home with a B on your report card, the lady watching with disdain as said beating happened. its so scary, you need mommy's help. you look back up at her and see her grinning wide, happily taking the couple's beration. mom puts her hand on your head and scratches, scrubbing the bad thoughts away. she whispers out of the side of her mouth, "don't worry honey, we'll go home soon" she gently picks you up, cold naked chest facing the two, who reel back with... hatred? did you do bad? you hope mommy wont be mad.

mom kissing your nose and bringing you back to the car, strapping you into your cage and brushing her hands through your fluffy hair. "you did so good, pet!" you whimper and cock your head to the side like an inquisitive dog. "dont worry, dear. you wont have to see those two ever again <3"
