Life Well Lived (a story for NejiHina Week - Day 1: Afterlife)

Neji awakens in the afterlife, having left his family behind, only to find a familiar face both sorrowful and overjoyed to see him once more. 

This was actually my second attempt at a story for this prompt . . . perhaps at some point I'll manage to revamp that first attempt into a proper story as well.

Day 2: Tarot

I chose The Star's Card because it is fundamentally linked to fate. And when we talk about Hyuuga it's impossible not to remember that. So I made this representation to demonstrate the connection of Neji and Hinata.

The main star was left centered so that it was equally illuminating both of them, as I imagine Hinata sees Neji, as an equal, not inferior. The smaller stars distributed in their hair to represent the enlightenment of their own minds and use of reason, which led them to take different and once tortuous paths until they meet again. Because they never hung up. The tie never fell apart.

In the illustration, we realize that Neji and Hinata are connected by small rivers that are born and flow into each other's hearts. In the original letter, a serene-looking woman pours out the water contained in the vessel that is confused with the water coming out of her, forming a river at her feet. Water represents the emotions, the repressed feelings that begin to be poured into the river giving space for hope and renewal. I wanted to represent the exchange of these emotions by placing the heart of each one as vessels that pour their waters and renew their feelings, bringing the necessary serenity to their lives and so that they can have confidence and guidance of each other.
