"Spiderose"
Quick sketch of what (teen) Yinu's potential spider outfit would be. I definitely need to tweak it, I just wanted to get the initial idea out finally (the petals can be used like weapons. Yinu can whip them around with web attached to them and then pull them back and return them to their hair).
Use He/They/She pronouns for Yinu right now. Playing around with their identity as they get older.

Any opinions on she/her, it/its user Eve?
Tumblr media
Your ask immediately made me think of this shirt for some reason. I have no idea if I made it up or saw it at some point, but I can see Eve relaxing in it lol.
Anyway! My opinions! (there is a lot more than I thought lol)
I personally like Eve using just she/her pronouns (and for now I will use she/her until I get to the it/its pronouns) but she has a very complicated relationship with her gender (which also encapsulates her sexuality).
Like I even want to start drawing her with top surgery scars thinking she either got a breast reduction or fully got rid of her breasts. Maybe she took some testosterone at some point but also leaned very far into the feminine aesthetic.
Sometimes wears butch or masc clothing, or makes her hair very short. Her entire display is just supposed to be experimental and all over the gender spectrum but also leaning a lot into the feminine even when playing around in the masc area.
And because she plays with her gender and expression in this way, she also always wants to exclusively use she/her. Those are what works but can also confused others when she is going into a more masc appearance. Even when she got her top surgery she had to be adamant to the people around her to keep using only she/her, not he/him or they/them which some people tried doing.
That is what I personally prefer for Eve.
However! I guess it/its pronouns could make Eve feel differently! (and now I will start using she/it for Eve).
All of what I said above would probably still be true, except that over time Eve might lean more into using it/its pronouns. It would be like reclaiming a part of itself that it never knew it lost.
I'm sure there were some people in Eve's life that made it feel less than human, even her own thoughts probably did that. Made her feel like an object (which is why it will sometimes present as a literal object like the chair) and so over time it just... ran with the idea of being an object but one with life.
At least that is what Eve would eventually come to think of herself. After the revolution, getting closure from Zuke, growing more into itself, all of that would need to happen before it would be able to see itself as an object with life instead of an object with purpose.
Let me try to explain what I mean by that.
Eve would see itself as a combination of a woman and natural phenomenon or object that needs a use to be important. Disguising herself as a chair, or comparing herself to tectonic plates, both of those instances were Eve is trying to reclaim what it means to be an object, but they were objects with purposes, easily forgotten about until they are needed or make some kind of dramatic act.
"A chair without a sitter is left with no purpose to exist." Without the direct purpose of a sitter (or another person) then a chair has no reason to exist (Eve has no reason to exist). This mindset shows Eve's co-dependency, but also shows how it sees itself. How it is an object, but it's usefulness and reason to live is defined by what others need of it or of how others see it.
Eve realizes she is a tool, that the only way that it has a reason to live is if it is helping others, or fulfilling other people's needs. She is not fulfilling her own needs, her own idea of who she is. No, instead Eve is acting as an object for others to use, which is why it started going by it/its pronouns.
"Remember when I was the tectonic plates and you were the sea?" This line is another reason why Eve would have started using it/its pronouns. In this aspect, it is still an object, but one that most people forget about until it does something dramatic like causing a tsunami with the sea or earthquakes on land.
Unless you are actively looking at tectonic plates, learning about them, then you really wouldn't care about them until they affect your life. That is how Eve feels. Unseen and forgotten about until it is seen as important.
Being a megastar is kinda like being a constant earthquake, where people can see her all the time and have her on their minds, but over time they get used to this life and what Eve is offering which makes Eve chase a new dramatic flare, a new music style, a new purpose in life to be seen by anyone around her.
When it can find a researcher who cares deeply about the beauty and importance of tectonic plates and is willing to learn more about them to understand them (so someone like Zuke who took time to learn more about Eve and understand it), then she feels seen and loved. Loved as the object that it perceives itself as, that it thinks everyone had forgotten about except for one person. It can start loving itself because of that one person who loves it (and when that person goes away, that love goes away too).
However, ones the revolution takes place and Eve gets closure from Zuke and starts to work on itself, I can see it questioning why it started using it/its pronouns in the first place. Even if it was always just personal use that only a select few people knew about (Zuke and Tatiana definitely knew) and not public knowledge, Eve would still start to question why she started using those pronouns and wonders what it is about that specific set that called out to her.
I can see Eve figuring out all this from above, or at least the general gist of it through therapy and self reflection. Maybe this would make it upset that it was using these pronouns in this way. Feeling cheap or fake for using them (even if it was only known by like 2 other people). There would always be this questioning that Eve has if she truly wants to go by she/it pronouns, and if its reasoning is good enough justification to continue to use them.
Honestly, I love the idea that Eve always kept this mainly to herself. This questioning aspect. I'm sure Zuke and Tatiana would have still used she/it for Eve only when talking with Eve (never outing her since she never said she was okay with that). Mayday and Haym definitely do not know about this. I can see Purl maybe figuring something out about this, or knowing of the it/its pronouns from one of their late nights together, but they never used those for Eve as she never explicitly asked for that to happen.
All that comes to a head when Rin starts going by it/its pronouns. Rin's whole reasoning for going exclusively by it/its at first was to piss off haters and to have fun with its gender. There was never a big deal about it, and soon those pronouns just truly grew onto Rin and stuck.
This was something entirely different to how Eve saw itself using those pronouns. But it also didn't like that justification really at all. Just doing something to piss people off felt too similar to what she was doing before, having pronouns based on how people would or have reacted to a part of the person.
Eve wanted something more internal. Not related to other people, something she could see in herself with these pronouns.
And honestly, if you want to keep this related to the NSpidR AU (or even my Eriverse in general), Hobie and Lizze Natividad would be the perfect people to have Eve realize it is an object with life and not an object with purpose kind of it/its user.
Hobie is in the same boat as Rin, using they/it pronouns to piss people off but to also break free from gender constructs and confinement. It is about being rebellious and messing with people, but also having freedom and power over your own identity.
Similar to Eve, Hobie's gender performance is like literally a performance. Although Hobie performs for themself while Eve performs for other people. That is a thing that Eve will have to learn to change over time.
Lizzie at this point in life is probably still a Psychonaut, same with Raz, and since Eve knew Raz and they reconnected together after the revolution, I can see Eve getting to know Lizzie a bit.
Lizzie going by It/They pronouns with he/him sprinkled in (very rarely she/her) is something that Eve would take interest in. Especially for the reasoning as to why Lizzie would add it/its to they/he/she pronouns.
That is when I can see Lizzie using an example I love, where it tells Eve that using "it" isn't always derogatory and has a lot of built in love and admiration into the pronoun. It's just hard to see if you aren't looking for it.
When someone talks about the sunset or moon saying 'It's beautiful" or that people will talk about a stuffed animal or childhood home they loved and use "it" as a default shows that even though those things are being described by it/its pronouns, the love is still there.
Those things are more than just objects, they are moments of love, cherished memories. Not all of them are that. Sometimes they are just a part of time that happened, but it helped shaped who you are even if you don't realize it. They have no real purpose but to make life full of... well, life.
Lizzie would tell Eve about how the smalls things can seem big, and the big things seem small. They shift and change, sometimes they don't have any purpose to life, but you can just make up a purpose for them to be important. It doesn't matter, as long as it is something that makes you happy, confident, safe, anything positive really.
All of this, seeing so many different reasons as to why some people would use it/its pronouns or a combination set, would allow Eve to figure out her own reason for using them.
I'm not sure exactly what its reasons would be. Probably reclaiming its own identity again but this time in a positive way that is built on introspection and not built on other people's potential view of it.
There is definitely something a lot more complex going on underneath everything. Stuff that Eve might never be able to truly get into words, so it would be hard for me to put it into words (which is how I get when I have to explain my own use of it/its pronouns sometimes), but no matter what, Eve is using these pronouns because they make it happy and more comfortable with itself.
I can even see Eve coming out to the public as using she/it pronouns. Maybe it would be another performance, but a performance that Eve would want to see herself, and not one made specifically for other people. This performance wouldn't be trying to get people onto its level, or trying to get down to people's level, it's not one to make them understand, but one for people to see it as it is.
Otherwise, I see Eve at least letting its friends, family, and loved ones using she/it for her like how Zuke and Tatiana were using them. It would at least no longer be a hidden aspect of her personality when it comes to the people it cares about, and once it sees the acceptance it got (especially from Mayday and Haym), it would feel even more comfortable and confident in its choice to come out fully.
Because I'll be honest, it's one thing to dress in a way different from your gender than it is to be referred to as different from your gender. At least for me it is. I primarily present femininely, but I like trying to go by any pronouns, especially they/it pronouns.
I can see Eve being the opposite, where she does not feel any dysphoria or apprehension when it comes to its visual expression, but there is always a slightly weird feeling when verbally being called something you don't think you truly are. Even if you do think you are truly they/them, it/its, she/her, anything, hearing it is different from seeing it, which is different from visually showing it, to just acting in a different manner.
All of this is complex stuff that Eve has definitely had to go through. Some things easier than others (like her visual self), and it still has lots to work on, but at least it is on the right track for progress.
Anyway, thanks for making me think of this! I love that I was blatantly for she/her exclusive Eve at first, but now I think I changed my own mind lol. I might start referring to Eve with she/it pronouns. Love it when I can make propaganda for my own mind hehe (it always happens too! Because I try to make someone else's view of a character valid, even if it isn't my own cup of tea, and then I just love what I came up with and just start using it too lol :3)

The Miguel boss fight might be less of a staged boss fight but a "the entire building is in chaos" type of boss fight where Miguel chases after the Arachnikids through the entire Nueva York building (kinda like the ATSV chase scene with Miles) (with the people in cages cheering the Arachnikids on)
That could definitely be a way to go! I hadn't thought about it like a chase scene, though I doubt all the Arachnikids would have ran from Miguel (I can definitely see Hobie and Noir wanting to stand and fight instead of running away).
Maybe something happens where the Arachnikids make it to Miguel and try to attack him, only for him to just take their attacks and not be phased by it (like even Hobie's sonic boom barely made Miguel flinch) and that it what makes them decide to try and run to think of a better plan (queue the chase scene).
Don't know why you are saying people in cages though. Nueva York doesn't put people in like legit cages. Isolation rooms, yes (which is still not good but not an open air cage), so they couldn't really cheer.
Plus, with how angry Miguel is, I doubt a LOT of people would be cheering on the Arachnikids in fear that Miguel would switch his anger to them OR if he won then he would come after the cheerers (there would definitely be some cheering though, and some yelling out advice or telling Miguel to stop).
This also makes me wonder how much people know about what is going on. Like just seeing a bunch of teens run in the hall, using their powers while Miguel rips and tears apart the building running after them. That has to be a fucking weird and possibly terrifying thing to see if you have no idea what is going on.
Unless the Arachnikids actually made a huge announcement, most residents and even the average scientist and counselor wouldn't know what the fuck is going on.
If you wanted to do the announcement thing though, having Lyla be on the Arachnikids side (or like at least neutral) could be a way to do it, where she realizes that this revolution could actually help Miguel process his grief instead of suppressing it so she helps broadcast it (or she is just being fucking chaotic and does this for the shits and giggles, then blames it on Peni and/or Ganke for hacking her systems which I find a lot more funny honestly).

Sorry for that last asks w/ Gwen and EDM/Rock. So let’s try this one more time and specify things more… since the politics of Vinyl City makes out rock to be archaic and even dangerous, would Gwen or especially George want to/ want his kid to like or play rock?
Oh okay! The way you phrase it like this makes a lot more sense and allows me to dive deeper into the question. (again, sorry if I sounded rude in that last response or something, I had watched a few tiktoks recently of people being shitheads and elitist about music genres recently and it bled into that response lol).
This does depend for the situation. In the OG NSpidR AU, by the time Gwen and the other arachnikids possibly go to Vinyl City, the whole Rock vs. EDM fight has cooled down quite a bit (some people won't let it go all that much), so Gwen playing rock wouldn't really be all that bad.
I can see George trying to nicely push Gwen into playing EDM or at least of genres because of the Rock Revolution, trying to make sure his daughter is going into a genre that would be accepted, but he wouldn't stop her from playing rock (especially once he sees she is actually making a lot of power with her music at the time).
For the Project Mermaid AU, I can see Gwen not really wanting to outwardly make rock music as she would be in the midst of the anti-rock sentiment era. At this time George wouldn't really have a say in what Gwen does as she ran away from him.
Once the Revolution happens though, and she unites back up with her dad, as well as rock being less stigmatized, I can definitely see Gwen adding more rock into the Mermaid's music (maybe even having Yua become the rocker of the mermaid group).
So yeah, sorry how I came off in that response from before. I just hate hearing people say one genre is bad or you can't like this genre if you like that genre. It's dumb to me. But I do think Gwen would tone down her rock-ness a little bit in both scenarios to test out the waters and then lean a lot more into rock after getting more comfortable.

HC: Noir in the NSpidR AU has low vision. They often have people like Peni read out loud books for them, or like watching black and white silent films with people explaining what is going onscreen. (They like pride flags due to their stark contrasts.)
Personally I like Noir with decent/good vision, but that's a cool headcanon to have!
It's nice that Noir would have a lot of good friends to help them out in this kind of scenario!
OOOH! What if Noir, instead of having low vision, was just completely colorblind because of the color accident they had? That could be a cool idea/concept (I don't think I will personally use it, but it is a fun thing to think about).
Also, not all pride flags actually have contrast. I think the bisexual flag is one that comes to mind. If you make the flag black and white, you can barely tell the colors apart because the like value (I think value is the right word) are so close together.
I saw someone talk about this before years ago so hopefully I am remembering it right. But if you look at Akusuka and Metro Division from NSR, they are 2 entirely different visual places.
Akusuka has a lot of bright colors, whites, blues, pinks, and stuff. But it is all the same values. In black and white, a lot of the colors mix together and you wouldn't be able to tell where pink ends and blue starts in the district.
However, with Metro Division, it is a lot darker, but there is actually contrast between the like blacks/greys and the neon colors (which I think are mostly bright blues). If you look at the place in black and white, it is much easier to see the difference in contrast and values (maybe you wouldn't be able to tell which colors are red, blue, or green, but those are accents and you would be able to know the lights and the darks from each other).
Visually, I think Metro Division might be easier to navigate than Akusuka because of the contrast, but that's not taking into account the actual build of the place (which both districts, well all of them except maybe Natura honestly, are very lively and built in ways to confuse and keep you in the area longer so you buy stuff).
So yea, having differing values and high contrast are definitely things needed for a lot of low vision people. Things like black and white films show this really well because they had to accommodate for the lack of distinct color (like how the Addams family house was actually like pink and yellow of different values to properly show up on black and white film without getting muddled or hard to see).
I like the idea that if Noir does have low vision, that they do have a lot of people helping them out when they need it!

Miguel used to wear sunglasses in the NSpidR AU, but took them off after he accepted his spider half again. (Mirroring Tatiana’s arc) (or he doesn’t since his eyes are quite light sensitive)
I always forget that Tatiana wears glasses lol. Now makes me wonder if they are for style or actual use because she does blow them off her head or like looses them in her fight if I remember correctly.
Anyway! I was gonna say that I don't think spider eyes are light sensitive, but I looked it up and a lot of them actually are! Fun fact, some spiders have their like sensitive eye membranes burnt up by the sun and have to regrow it over the day so they can see (and hunt) at nighttime! So Miguel needing glasses for light sensitivity makes a lot of sense! (him and Purl in similar boats :3).
Plus a majority of spiders have poor eyesight as well (maybe it's because of the sun burning their eyes lol) so he's gonna need glasses either way.
Definitely think he's gonna wear some kind of glasses similar to Purl's where you can barely see into them at all while he is in his like evil phase, and then go to wearing some more casual sunglasses type of glasses later on (still prescription based and helping keep the light out of his eyes, but making his face more seeable).

HC that in the NSpidR world, Miguel basically took over Alchemax to make Nueva York (he was a scientist there in the OG comics, just like Liv and Jonathan)
Oh neat. Maybe! I somehow forgot about Alchemax lol.
Maybe instead of taking over it, the two became partner companies or something like that. Similar to how J-1 Robotics is partnered with a cybernetics company, or something like that.
Alchemax is where all the very delicate research on power samples and power-reducing tech is done and created. While Nueva York is where the therapy and housing (basically everything else) happens.
Miguel would still be the CEO of both, but probably has another person running the intricacies of Alchemax. I don't see that person being Liv because she would want to be in the researching area, not the one running the shots, and Jonathan I always saw as under Liv in the hierarchical ladder so that also keeps him from being the one running Alchemax.
Actually, just looked it up and found out that Olivia is the founder of Alchemax! Neat! Though I like her kinda being like the secret leader of the company and not really the face of it. That's probably why I think Miguel being the face of both Nueva York and Alchemax would work out really well.
I was going to say that Kingpin could be the head of Alchemax, but then I saw that he has his own company Fisk Industries. I think his company is a holding company in canon which, and I might be wrong here, is like a parent company that completely or partially owns another business as well as stock and stuff like that.
I kinda prefer the idea that Fisk Industries is more like a distributor or a warehouse company than a holding company. No matter what, it is a powerful company with a lot of money to it (probably because it is still definitely a front for a criminal organization in this AU lol).
So like, Vandelay Tech makes special parts, technology, robots and stuff like that, which is then bought by companies like Fisk Industries to store until they get shipped out to customers or brick-and-mortar stores (the cybernetics are done by Vandelay Tech themselves in house and are not distributed).
From there Fisk Industries distributes that stuff to other companies, stores, directly to customers. One of these being Alchemax, which gets specially designed parts and machinery that Vandelay Tech makes, but it's cheaper to buy that stuff through Fisk Industries than directly from the manufacturer (because Kale wants to make a big profit by jacking up the price legally and Wilson is willing to lower prices in some kind of laundering/crime scheme that makes him money illegally).
With the tech/parts/machines from Vandelay/Fisk, Alchemax can create highly specialized tech that relates to reducing powers in people as well as have the tools to do proper research to keep Nueva York running and showing progress to continue getting funding.
Loved talking about this a lot honestly! It's been a bit since I thought about the distribution process of goods from manufacturer to consumer. This also helped me round out more of the area and how some companies are connected together even if they don't seem like they should be.
Honestly, Psychonauts probably gets their parts from Fisk Industries as well. At least if they don't know that there is a crime ring attached to the company, otherwise they would try and get things directly from Vandelay Tech (even if it is pricier, but then the Tech Revolution happens and now Psychonauts aren't sure if they want to continue relations with them either and might have to look to overseas manufacturers for the parts needed for psychic machinery).
NSR and J-1 are definitely working together to supply each other with power, funding, and qwasa tech. NSR would technicaly be the holding company in this part of the world, with J-1 being a manufacturer. There wouldn't be a need for a middleman distributor for J-1 and NSR working together, but J-1 does have distributors for its toys and other products for the average consumer (the cybernetics company owned or partnered with J-1 is not supplying NSR directly, but it does have NSR's interest to think about in order to keep its funding/continue working).
Now I just need to figure out how the companies in Europe work together. Especially the UK Robotics company (I really need to start thinking of names for these companies lol).

Heyo Eri :3
I see you've taken an interest of my NSR fan kiddies aka Burning Constellation and the OFA Rockstars becoming villians aka L.O.V.E. So I've come to ask on what you think the reactions of everyone such as the main NSR Cast, Nueva York, Vandelay, and even the Psychonauts would be when L.O.V.E forms and starts causing havoc everywhere. It's mainly Burning Constellation who starts causing mayhem by launching an attack that destroys the NSR Tower aka Orion doing what her dad Kliff did and drops a satellite on it only this time the satellite hits the Tower and causes a lot of damage, plus they also steal the Grand Qwasa- (I'm sure Kliff would be proud of his daughter LOL-)
Then all the OFA Artists join L.O.V.E after becoming villains themselves so now it's getting out of control to where Titanium has to call in help so she would call in the 4 main groups mentioned. How would they go about to defeat the L.O.V.E villains? Would they try to take them out one by one in order of the OFA Rockstars (Henrick being the first, Rosie second, Prince Astral third, CAL forth, Jodie fifth, and Burning Constellation last?) Or would they lure them into a trap and them battle them all at once?
I apologize for this ask being quite lengthy, I'm really down the rabbit hole of my silly group of villains-
For the NSR characters, it depends on if the tower was empty or not (also I don't know all about your AU, I keep forgetting with my terrible memory, so I don't know who's still alive or still working for NSR at this point in time so I'll keep it vague lol).
If it's empty, like they were able to evacuate in time, the destruction of NSR tower would be devastating but not too bad. If it was full, then L.O.V.E. would be seen as absolute monsters and murderers. They would be hated by a large majority of Vinyl City and probably the NSR cast as well (imagine if Titanium was IN the tower when the satellite hit, we'd need a new leader of Vinyl City then, but since she's the one who calls for help she most likely survives).
Stealing the Grand Qwasa (which sounds so funny to me lol) would be devastating as well since most, if not all, of the power in Vinyl City is now gone. People would die from hospitals not being powered and flooding as machines to keep flooding down are now not being powered at all. Not to mention the whole structure of the city is being thrown all over the place because of the chaos. L.O.V.E. would be despised by the citizens of Vinyl City.
As for the retaliation itself, I don't think NSR would have means of fighting L.O.V.E.. I don't know about your version of NSR, but mine wouldn't have the security to go against a whole villainous organization, which is probably why Titanium tries asking for help.
I doubt Vandelay Tech would do anything. They are just a tech company, not really out there looking to save the world. I'm sure they could offer some security robots, but honestly I doubt they would actually even have any more of those at this point since those types of robots were more Kale's doing and not something Roxanne or Peppermint would have kept going. I can see them sending robots that specialize in care and help to Vinyl City during this time though.
Psychonauts and Nueva York. Those are two organizations that would help Titanium (if they are still around. I definitely think Psychonauts would still be around, but not so sure if Nueva York would have been able to stand the test of time).
With the Psychonauts, they usually only deal with psychic battles, however, they would absolutely be willing to help stop this organization considering they've HAD to have killed some people. I don't know how much of the OG adult cast from Psychonauts would be around (the Psychic 7 are long dead by this point, as are people like Milla and Sasha being very old or dead by this point), I think Raz would be around still, but I don't know if she would still be an active member of the Psychonauts (since she'd be like... idk 50+ at this point, but she could definitely still be kicking ass lol).
Either way, whatever Psychonauts are around would be willing and ready to help try and stop L.O.V.E. at all costs. Using their psychic powers and advanced tech at this point would definitely help them as they track down and get ready to fight L.O.V.E.
Nuvea York is a tricky one. Because, if the Power Revolution worked and stuck true to the core of Nueva York, then that organization wouldn't really be used in this situation. Nueva York at this point is about helping people learn to control their powers, nothing more and nothing less.
Other organizations would have been made to help rehabilitate people using their powers for evil, or to hold people with powers who would have been able to escape captivity after committing a crime, but Nueva York would not be one of them. So whatever other organization is used to help detain and stop people from using their powers purposefully for evil would be called instead (the people of Nueva York would probably not like L.O.V.E. though, considering what they have already done to Vinyl City).
As for HOW L.O.V.E. would be captured, I think the Psychonauts and Power Organization (don't know what else to call it) wouldn't really work together right off the bat. They each have their own methods for dealing and capturing enemies, so they would rather work alone. They'd both also wait until L.O.V.E. commits some kind of crime, maybe try to set up a situation that would attract L.O.V.E., but for the first few tries they would rather try and get L.O.V.E. to commit their own crimes at first and try and stop them at the scene.
I can see it being kinda comical if you want to go that way, where Power Organization and Psychonauts make each other fail a few times and they have a little rivalry going on until something super serious happens and that's when the two groups start to work together and actually coordinate instead of almost actively sabotaging each other.
The order of capture would also depend on how L.O.V.E. operates itself. Do they usually attack in groups or by themselves with only some attacks being group/partner work. If it's single work with sometime having group/partner work, then Psychonauts and PO would do their best to get crimes that are committed by more than one person. But if they only capture one then that's fine as then they can use methods like going into the person's brain (or I guess code for CAL if I remember correctly) to look for the location of L.O.V.E.'s headquarters or base of operations.
If it's group work, then the Psychonauts and PO would do their best to try and capture everyone at once. I can see something going wrong and one person from L.O.V.E. escaping, and now the two organizations have to worry about them breaking out the rest of L.O.V.E. or something.
It could also be that L.O.V.E. ends up never getting caught because of reasons like they are too good at evading capture or are too ruthless that even if they were almost caught, the casualties were too great for their pursuers that they were able to escape each time.
I don't know how serious or dark you want to take this villainous version of characters, but depending on the intensity you could get really dark with it or make it really comical!

What would be Miguel’s excuse to keep people and children in Nueva York? (Children are treated differently in the NSpideRverse)
(Also I heard that the Spider Society fits all of the definitions of a cult)
It would probably be a fear-based tactic. The difference between canon and this AU of Miguel's organization is that it has completely different goals since there is no multiverse in the AU.
Canon is trying to save the multiverse by making sure canon events happen and anomalies are caught or else a universe can just die. In this AU though, I see Miguel as being a place where elementals and people with extremely strong powers go to learn how to control their powers so they don't accidentally hurt other people (especially for families who don't have that same power, like how Pav's powers are too much for his family to help him learn how to control it).
So I would say that Miguel's organization is more like a boarding school/housing area that allows anyone with strong powers they can't control to come and learn how to use them.
The problem is that Miguel and the organization run off of scaring people into just not using their powers. Kinda like how Elsa was traumatized into not using her powers for fear she is going to kill her sister and everyone else she cares about. It's all about suppression of powers, mind over matter, things like that.
People who complete this program may seem to have control over their powers, but quite a few of them actually don't. If they loose control of their emotions then they would most likely loose control of their powers. Think of how Mama lost her shit in Yinu's fight and probably would have continued to try to kill or seriously injure B2J if Yinu didn't start playing the piano at the end.
Miguel would point that out as weakness and explain that she could have killed her kid. Or how DJSS could have killed people with his black hole, or how Eve could have permanently scarred B2J's minds with her powers (he probably loves using the NSR Revolution as examples for people, especially if he finds out Pav is related to Eve, he would use that as ammunition to try and get Pav to suppress his powers away to not end up like his cousin).
This kind of teaching is obviously wrong, but for kids who have families who are scared of their powers or for elementals who people might be scared of just because of the nature of their powers (think fire elementals being seen as dangerous), they would listen to this kind of teaching and think it is how things are done. Of course the average person would be scared of being sucked into a black hole or being set on fire just because you lost your temper, so make sure you are always in control of your emotions and never use your powers.
Miguel's organization just plays off of people's fears and the outcome of people who graduate his program is almost always what he wants, which is why people keep coming to him. Kids/teens can't really leave because a lot of them are sent there from far away, and so they wouldn't be able to just leave. Plus most of them wouldn't want to leave because if they use their powers and hurt someone, that just proves that Miguel and his teachings are right and their families and friends were right to fear them, so might as well stay and learn how to control these powers.
This is what I personally think of when I think of Miguel's organization in this AU. It was the best I could come up with, but if someone else has a better idea then let me know and I might either change my initial idea or at least take inspiration and make a new version, but for now this is what I think of when thinking of Miguel's organization.
[Also as for the cult thing, I think the Spider Society does mind-altering practices like sleep deprivation, but other than that (and possibly the society not doing love-bombing) I would say that technically that is correct. The Spider Society does fit a lot of characteristics of a cult. I think the major difference would be that I'm pretty sure you can leave the Spider Society if you wanted to, while a cult you can't really do that, at least not easily. I don't really know what to add to this part of the ask honestly, I don't know much about cults to be able to give an opinion on if I see the Spider Society as a cult or not].

Are any of the arachnikid’s parents queer?
Probably.
I can see Miles' parents being some flavor of queer but they are "straight enough" that they never really questioned it and so don't technically identify as queer.
Peni's dad was probably bisexual maybe. He might have identified with the term or maybe he was "straight but guys look nice" kind of guy for the most part. I think kits mom was fully cishet. Aunt and Uncle I don't really have an idea at the moment. They conditionally support the queer community (when it benefits them) so they are probably not queer or if they are they are the kind of queers that side the oppressors because it would benefit them in the short term.
Gwen's dad is definitely cishet but he is very supportive. MAYBE he could be asexual but had fallen in love and still had a kid with his wife (or girlfriend or whatever she was to him).
Hobie's parents were probably really bad bigots. They abandoned their kid because of a skin condition, I doubt they would be more accepting to a queer kid. So that being said, they are cishet. Maybe one of them is deep in the closet and like has a ton of internalized queerphobia, but outwardly present and label-wise they are cishet.
Margo's parents might or might not be. I don't know but it honestly doesn't matter to Margo as they don't care about her and so she doesn't care about them all that much. I can see them being queer or not, but either way they aren't being good parents.
I can see Pav's parents being queer. Don't know what kind of queer, but I can see them being somehow apart of the community.
Inspector Singh I mainly see as cishet but a really good ally. Maybe aroace and was in an arranged marriage that either broke down or the wife died (I'm leaning towards death) and Singh just never remarried at all because he didn't want to.
Ganke and Noir's parents aren't queer to me. Definitely not Noir's parents (especially if I am going with the idea of Noir's parents having a more traditional relationship). Maybe Noir's mom likes girls a little bit but would never act on it and tries to suppress those kinds of thoughts. Ganke's parents I see as both cishet.
Finally, I don't have an idea for Ham's parents but I think his aunt could be a lesbian who was in a relationship with a gay man (Ham's uncle). The two were basically each others beards but also messed around a bit when they were younger to just explore and have fun. Unfortunately the uncle ended up dying (like canon uncle Ben). But yeah, Ham's caretaker(s) are queer.

Ooooo what if Miles in the NSpideR AU has sunflower eyes, kinda like Mayday or Neon J’s brother? (Rio has them too!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Sunflower Eyes"
This is what I was able to come up with! I might change Rio's color scheme, but this is what I could come up with (I used some screenshots of her and color picked stuff which gave me the purple/blue cool palette).
Their eyes are gonna be so annoying to draw over and over just like Mayday's, I just know it (but they look really good so I can't complain too much lol)

Wait if NSpideR Gwen is a Sayu fan, how could she ever be interested in rock music? Is she a fan of both?
This might sound rude, but you know you can like multiple genres of music right? It's not literal in the NSR universe (or in real life) that you can only like one genre.
So yeah, Gwen likes both genres. She's probably more of a fan of rock than EDM, but she also loves the aesthetic and overall feel of the mermaids (not to mention at the time Gwen becomes a fan of Sayu I would say the project was probably less focused on making music and more focused on worldbuilding and probably making music covers but not outright original music).
I'm sorry, but it's the "how could she ever be interested in rock music" that kinda just threw me off. Like I love EDM music but that doesn't mean I can't listen to heavy metal or country or rap. Even Zuke shows he can be interested in more than one type of genre (rock and rap).
Anyway, sorry, yes she is a fan of both. More so into rock music but will listen to EDM music, but she does love the visuals and expressiveness that the mermaids allow her to have. This goes for both versions of the AU where Gwen is put into Nueva York and the one where she is part of the Mermaid Project. (She'd probably be upset at the cancellation of rock to be honest, but not enough to fight back against NSR internally as a megastar, though I can see her hiding more rock base beats into the background of the Mermaid music hoping no one would really notice).
