Since we were all fed amazing ✨ Shino content from you yesterday, I thought this would be the best opportunity to ask!

What is your headcannon as to why the Aburame wear sunglasses? For example, I use the common headcannon that the Aburame clan members’ eyes are sensitive to light for my own Aburame ocs as the reasoning behind their eyewear.

& why does Shigeki wear an eyepatch while Niwa & Yasuo wear sunglasses?

I love the family you created for Shino 🖤🪲 definitely want to know more about the kiddos 🫶🏼

Thank you! I love Shino and Katsura’s little hive too and don’t mind sharing info about them.

I’m 50/50 on the why of the usage of sunglasses with the Aburame. Part of me is like, sensitive eyes makes PERFECT logical sense. The other part is that some other clans also have signature things that have very little to do with anything outside of aesthetics.

As for Shigeki, he’s just a weirdo with a sensitive eye, but not because of light 💀 Like he’s super proud of being an Aburame to the extent of leaning towards being a mad scientist with his internal and external hives.

His hive really liked his left eye to the point of coming out of his tear duct on that side. So he wore an eyepatch to try and train them not to do that at first. Then he decided to store his secret hybrid rinkaichū there and the eyepatch hides the fact that he has an obvious purple sclera/has once again been breeding insects questionably.

Niwa and Yasu are very much twinning in everything they do, including their love of sunglasses. So they want to wear them, not that they have to. They are also more forgettable to others outside of their clan (classic Aburame) than their older brother and keep low profiles outside of the Aburame compound, besides checking Akamaru for fleas and ticks and going to play with Himawari when they were little.

Katsura often has to remind people they have three kids, not just one 😅

I loce Aburame OCs too! In my fic I give them two sons. The younger one decides to earn some money to buy a newly released game so he starts a "pest control" scam to gently move bugs out of homes. It goes great until Shino realizes his son has been intentionally infesting homes in order to make money off of removing the insects. XD He starts to lecture him until he realizes that Kiba was one of the suckers scammed, and then Shino allows just one more. Just to mess with Kiba. <evil cackle>

I was telling @wind-becomes-lightning who Shino and Katsura’s twins would have a seemingly sweet interest in the villages dogs and cats. Asking if they can pet Akamaru or take him for a short walk.. but in reality they just want to see if the animal has fleas or ticks to take samples.

And their oldest is always trolling people with his insects, as well as breeding specific insects in hopes of recreating Torune’s (be it more controlled) Rinkaichū.

Gotta love Aburame mischief + Kiba 🖤🪲🐶
