Your fairy artwork inspired me a little, so I wrote you something short. I hope you'll like it! ♡

He was back again, that strange skeleton monster with a grotesque head wound and bulging, red eye light. You peeked over the thick branch of the tree, watching him as he laid out a neatly arranged bouquet of flowers. He’d tied them together with a dark, green stalk this time, obviously taking notice on how you’d left the previous one near untouched, except from the rubbed band which had tied the flowers together. He seems to have understood that you’d been upset by it, or, at least cautious of the weird thing.

He lifted his head as he stood up, briefly catching your eyes before you ducked down to hide. You heard him sigh, softly. He didn’t sound disappointed that you’d hidden, but more content of being able to see you.

You only dared to look out again once you heard his footsteps fade, and it was only until he’d gone out of sight that you flew down towards the bouquet, picked it up, and then hurried back up into the tree. You settled on a branch and began to examine them closely. Different shades of pinks, purples, and blues were the flowers in your arms, and they smelled so absolutely divine, so fresh and rich, that you couldn’t help but hold them close as you buried your face into them.

That strange skeleton still made you nervous, but you had to admit, he knew how to impress a fairy, though giving gifts certainly wasn’t the wisest choice he could have done. But then again...

You smiled to yourself. For a somewhat scary looking monster, he seemed rather sweet. You hoped he’d come back tomorrow.
