Thoughts on Omnic Society

The saddest part about Ramattra’s backstory reveal is not only this specific scene - but also the reveal of the concept that Omnics are one finite generation. After the Omnic Crisis, it makes sense for all Omniums to have been destroyed, but what happens when the Omnics want peace, only to be killed? If the human race in the Overwatch Universe were to accept Omnics, the question would arise whether they should rebuild an Omnium or face the Omnic Crisis II to Null Sector terrorists?

You can find this idea introduced in Zenyatta’s voicelines and Tracer’s London Calling comics. In the comics, Omnics in the Underground talk about all being one and a loss for them is universal. Zenyatta’s voicelines imply Omnics could rebuild other Omnics, but they would not have the same personality or memories as before.

I’m also really excited to see Ramattra’s voicelines with characters, emphasis on Tracer, Bastion, Zenyatta (obviously) and Reindhart. Do you think there will ever be a moment where Zen and Ramattra cooperate and find a mutual understanding in their beliefs? (also, this is just a side-rant, but I love big complex universes so of course the Overwatch lore has dragged me to hell with a hyperfixation)
