The Father
Son zamanlarda izlediğim en iyi film. Atonement filminin senaristinden.
Sound Of Metal

"I don't look sad. No I don't." "You always look a little sad. You don't see it. I see it. We're happy, we're done, we got it. And then you get a little sad. I thought, 'You know what?' i watched Paddleton the other night and genuinely it was so fucking Normal and Honest about death that it made me sob. like in the movie michael has terminal cancer so he gets his bestie to help him acquire the medicine he needs to just end his life basically before the cancer does and there was no doubt he wasn’t gonna pull a surprise ending and not take the medicine so you know it’s coming and .. it’s so simple and scary at the same time and it really sums up the actuality of death. for most people. (unless you get murdered or die in a horrific accident) death is just …. Boring. and simple. and plain. one second they’re here and the next they’re not. there’s no real big change. it’s subtle. and i think that’s what’s most disturbing about it and that’s why we as humans try to romanticize even death because… it’s just another thing and we need to make it Not another thing. Anyway it is a very good movie and 10/10 but i wouldn’t wanna watch it again bc so sad :/

last night i accidentally watched this movie paddleton where ray romano helps his only friend, mark duplass, auto-euthanize after they play paddle ball against the back of a decaying drive in movie screen, and it kind of got in my head.
today, i got attacked by dogs in the woods who tore my favorite pants, retired a pair of well worn trail shoes, watched an old man buy a half empty bottle of wild turkey at the most batshit crazy estate sale i have been to since the buffalo head, and then without knowing quite how i got there, bought a bottle of polish vodka at the package store
it was a weird day, like raymond carver wrote a prequel to the road, which doesn't bode well for tomorrow.
