Lonk Lore Time. If Lonk thinks he’s actually Link, how does he view his Guest and his fellow Wii Sports Miis? Any Miis in particular stand out to him, as friends or rivals?

Oh man, okay, so I'm very casually into Zelda and have pretty much absorbed any knowledge I have of the Lore™ by osmosis. ( That's kinda the whole joke of his character, he's very much Not Link™ and is kind of boiled down to a couple of tropes that are associated with Link. ) So I'm not sure how satisfying of an answer this will be, but I'll give it a shot.

If I had to give an analogy? He’s kinda like Buzz Lightyear ( forgive me for the second mention of Toy Story on this blog in a very short time span ), in that he’s... very loosely modeled after the real thing, but, uh — clearly, he’s not. But following this analogy, how does Buzz in the first film, who by all accounts believes he’s actually the character he’s based on, rationalize the existence of Andy and the other toys? Well, he’s on another planet, and Andy is their leader.

For Lonk, it’s kinda-sorta like that. He pretty much believes that he’s gone on his journey or something, and after saving the princess, has retired to an easy life of playing table tennis. That said, he’s still a Mii, and still very much views Guest A as a demigod-type figure. Even though the relationship between them is more akin to a dad and his chaotic child. It’s best not to overthink how he rationalizes literally having been created by Guest A against his own belief that he’s Link, because there’s nothing in his little Mii brain except table tennis and kazoo covers of Zelda songs, but he probably thinks that Guest A gave him the body necessary to play sports on Wuhu Island. Man, I have no idea.

Petch from Texas very much exists in this universe. She’s pretty well-rounded, but has been doing a lot of golf lately. Lonk would consider her a friend. Also, let’s be real here, Zorldo from New York probably has to also exist in order to satiate Lonk’s world view. I guess Guest A has pigeonholed himself into making weird clones of other smashers

hello all ye tumbles, sorry this has taken so long i have been. the following are the polls that will be in round three:

All four polls (technically round A, B, C and D respectively) will run at the same time: starting on Thursday 25th May and lasting 1 week.
