CONGRATULATIONS I WANT DIE ON WINNING THE MII OF ALL TIME TOURNAMENT!!
Tumblr media
i am proud to say that I Want Die, created by RT Game, is officially the Mii of All Time.
i also want to say a big thank you to everyone who has submitted miis and supported this tournament. it’s been a hell of a ride but i’d like to think it’s been a good time. i’ve certainly enjoyed it myself. this wouldn’t have been possible without the support from everyone and i can’t thank you enough.
also shout out to Mr RT Game himself for being such an inspiration to the mii community at large, as well as Mr Vinny Vinesauce for popularising Two Faced to the point that she could make it this far in the tournament. she fought the good fight.
thank you all, and once again congratulations i want die!

Mario Kart
Mario Kart, a very old spin off of the one of the main flagship titles starting all the way back in 1992 in late August titled “Super Mario Kart”. This was a unique entrée back in the day letting you drive as the brother Mario and Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Bowser, A random Koopa Troopa and Donkey Kong Jr for some reason. Housing Four different Cups/Tournaments labelled Star, Mushroom, Flower and Special respectively. It was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System or the SNES, it was a fun game with difficult controls and even crazier coding.
Tumblr media
Let me give you an example, the term “Rubber Banding” is used when talking about the artificial intelligence of the enemies or the other drivers, it means that when you are far ahead, they will fly forward much faster than they are supposed to. This is for the player to constantly have a challenge during the race. But it was overdone, they are too fast and have many, MANY, more options than you to win, it’s like playing against a cheater and is very frustrating. As the first entrée that ill talk about, it's a solid game working with weaker hardware, 6/10. Now, I’ve not played all the Mario Karts, so I’m going to skip most hand held like for the DS, Game Boy, and for the 3Ds. The next on the list is Mario Kart 64, taking us into the third dimension visually and graphically.
Tumblr media
With a few new characters like Wario (Replacing Koopa) and D.K replacing his dad from the first game. It’s pretty fun and I'm not going to go into the details to much, aside from touching the time trails and battle modes that are a constant throughout all the titles. Its cool and gives us a new feature, drifting, all tho we don’t get a boost it lets you take corners much faster and at better angles. 7/10 Now, i didn’t get the opportunity to play “Double Dash” but from most things I've seen it gives you the ability to switch your character to another one of your choosing, and they all have unique items that each have their own benefits. I can’t give my opinion, but I emplor you to play it and see for yourself. The one that I played the most growing up was definitely Mario Kart Wii (2008)
Tumblr media
, with many more cups that previous games we have many more characters as with the insanely popular “Funky Kong” who is one of the new racers, I gotta say that this game rocks, from the music to the visuals and controls, it’s no questions the most popular game of the franchise. New cups and mods are being put into this game to this day, because it’s just so fun to play and the skill ceiling (How good you can get) is super high, a solid 9/10 cause there are a couple of small flaws, but let's move on to the last entrée I will talk about. Mario kart 8 Deluxe (2017)
Tumblr media
is, at the moment, the last game of the series, with a kart customization, 96 cups with four tracks each, and over 40 racers that each behave differently on the tracks, new modes of transportation with the upside down gravity mode and the third level of boost called the Mega mini Turbo. The reason that I’m skipping the regular version is because it’s nothing better or different than this one, this one is just better. With more karts, characters, tracks, battle modes, tougher time trials ghosts and new Mii costumes it’s simple to see why. With all this said and done, it’s great, the tracks are stunning to look at, with neo Bowser City being one of the best examples to show this. Now with the booster pass coming out any day now it stands at an 8/10.

Who would the Twisted Wonderland Characters main in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
It’s in the title. We’re starting now.
Part 2.
This goes from Heartslabyul - Octovinelle.
Riddle - Mario. Man has never played a single game in his life he barely even know who Mario is but since he’s the only one on the roster he knows, he went with him. Is absolutely terrible at the game and definitely rages when he loses.
Trey - Luigi. I feel like Trey has played past smash games before with Chenya and therefore is actually kinda decent at the game. He can 0 to death you off of one throw but he only does it to people he’s annoyed with. So, basically every match he plays against Ace.
Cater - Captain Falcon. He mains him for the clips he can post on magicam. He’s actually quite good at the game and is a wifi warrior. I think he’d have like Jigglypuff as a secondary just to avoid his sisters criticizing him for these sick slips.
Ace - Joker. He wants to be MKleo but he never will. Man does his best but is still mediocre. He always tries to go for clips and fails like 90% of the time but the one time he does get the clip he’ll loom it over the person he got it against forever.
Duece - Mii Brawler. He has several Miis and likes customizing them. He also knows a lot of combo routes with the different specials.
Leona - Rosalina and Luma. He likes tactics and what’s more tactical then a puppeteer? He can do some nasty shit and knows all the tech. He plays with Savannaclaw whenever he’s bored and he’s the best player in the dorm.
Ruggie - Roy. He doesn’t have that much time to play games but he knows that you can win some money if you win matches and tournaments and while it may be inconsistent, Roy is still very strong and doesn’t require a lot of play to be good at so it’s a win/win. Although he didn’t expect to be on the same skill level as Jack in this game.
Jack - Wolf. Kinship aside, Jack likes playing fair and Wolf is a very fundamental character. Meaning how good you are at him is dependent on your skill level rather than some cheese. He may not play that many video games, but he wants to be able to beat Leona in a match one day and he’s climbing up the ranks of Savannaclaw SSBU playerbase.
Azul - Samus. This man hates you and everything you stand for. He will camp you out and spam charge shot and kill you at like 80% while you have barely gotten in. He does fail a lot whenever his opponent has a reflector though. Only really knows how to play because of Idia.
Jade - Peach. He can do the crazy ass turnip combos and kill you in like 4 seconds. Beware.
Floyd - Zelda. To annoy Azul.

new characters that are totally not just oc-ified mii fighters theyre all in a trio who fight in battle tournaments kind of like Shonen Tournament Arcs
their powers because they have Abilities like most people in my universe:
ethan- minor fire powers, can't act like a flamethrower or anything but he delivers blazing kicks that burn you almost as badly as they break your bones. he heats spicy foods to fuel this ability and with all capsaicin in his body spent his fire powers aren't very strong
victor- the only full mondialian in the party, he can bend water he makes direct contact with, lets him dance gracefully across the battlefield gayly and use his sword to turn it into a whip, spear or basically anything he needs. isn't boosted by certain chemicals/energies like his friends
domys- can give people electric shocks on physical contact. this ability isn't really useful on its own but thankfully it allows her to charge her arm canon without any external battery devices. pairing it with the canon allows her to dispense crazy energy blasts. eating irradiated foods like bananas helps her with this but eating uranium or something wouldnt work shed just get cancer.
they live in the same time era as gold, glass and the other constructs (500 years after jdi and his party's time) in a time where mutants have basically bred into the rest of society causing most mondialians to have nonhuman features. ethan and domys are half mondialian though, so they look more plain human than their non-mixed counterparts

hello! i made this sideblog cause miiblr seemed fun and i wanted a mii themed blog so here i am.
in case you don’t know me, i’m ezra, my main blog is @ezraphobicsoup . i’m a trans guy (he/him) and i like miis a lot (obviously), miitopia and tomadachi life were like key developmental points for me honestly. i ran the mii of all time tournament a while back ( @themiiofalltime ) which i’ll be the first to admit, was not especially mii centric for a mii tournament. it’s something i’d consider doing again if i ever have the time.
i don’t know how much i actually intend on doing/saying but i’m here and ready to mii

(Takes place several hours before xigbar is brought to bfd)
Xigbar brought the cloak this time. Leaving it behind before was a mistake he wouldn't make twice. Blanket was NOT fuckin' enough.
He hauled the last of the bodies up from the sort of. Morgue/freezer setup Showie had up to the makeshift lab he'd put together under the Kins Storage. He didn't know how far underground he was, but it had to be pretty deep. All the better for human experimentation, he supposed. Not like that's an above ground activity.
He dialed her number on his phone, and she picked up instantly.
“Hey.” She said.
"Hey, doll. Finally got all the bodies down here."
“Great. And you brought the cloak?”
"Yeah. Not doing this without it again. The blanket was nowhere near enough."
“Ha-ha. Got you to admit you didn’t bring the cloak last time even though you said you did.”
"Boooooooo. You suck. Run me through the steps again?"
“You got the body all laid out, yeah?”
"Well. More or less. Kinda just flopped. Carrying a bunch of bodies down here is hard work, okay? Leave me alone." He didn't mean it do NOT leave him alone.
“Okay, okay. Pick one and get it in a separate area. For this experiment we’re gonna revive them over and over and over to see what happens. Run your choice by me, though. No one valuable.”
"Well, the options today are…" He checked the bodies. "Jeremy Heere, Sasha Waybright, Default Mii, Qifrey, and Stede Bonnet. Figured it'd be a good idea to start with the freshest ones."
“Ooooh-kay,” She said, and he heard a tapping noise.
"What's that sound?" He asked.
“Stanley brought me my laptop! I’m taking notes!” Her voice sounded bright. “Anyway, let’s start with,,,,, Stede. Not a teenager and not a non-human. Looking at his historical file there is little of value to lose, memory wise. Additionally, he was in team We Cause Problems.”
"Damn, alright. So I just kill and revive him over and over? How many times, do you think?"
“Take notes each time, maybe ask a set of questions? Record his responses as you go. Maybe,,,, Do you know where you are, do you know who i am, do you know who you are, etc? And keep an eye on his physical form as well. Uh- the kins, they put everyone in hospital gowns, yes?”
"Yeah, they're in the hospital gowns." He looked over the bodies and shook his head in disappointment. "Man, I was hoping Sasha was gonna win that round. I like her. Kid's got guts."
“Well, nothings permanent when you have necromancy!” She said brightly. “We can exclude her from the subject pool and- oh, here’s an idea. Start with her, she’ll be our control. Bring her back once and then set her aside.”
"Works for me." Xigbar grinned. "Perks of being named vice showrunner, huh?" He pulled Sasha aside and set her up to be resurrected.
“Oh, definitely. When this is through we can make you a bracket and switch places.”
"I could make you election fraud queen- we can have matching sashes."
“Maybe that’ll happen in the couple battle? That tournament runner and I had a very nice chat just last night.”
"Ha- why does that make me nervous?" He pulled on the cloak. Gonna remember that every goddamn time now. Hell, he even brought a couple spares.
"Going silent for a minute. Gotta do the thing." He set up the sigil and then lit it. He heard Showie quietly counting down on the other end of the line.
“Okay, get ready~” She said.
The room filled with frigid wind. Most of which went around the cloak, like it had a- No Shit, Xigbar, of course it had a force field. Not like that was Showie’s specialty or anything.
She waited a few more seconds until the real cold hit, then said, “Well, it probably makes you nervous because we were talking about you!”
"You wha-" the words were stolen from his lungs when the Real cold hit. Damn you, Showie. Why does he even work for you. You suck.
“Oh, it was nothing bad,” She said, and he could hear her grin. “15 more seconds until Sasha begins moving!”
"Then why did you say it like that?!" Oh. Cheat code. Breathe THROUGH the cloak. The air is still cold, but it doesn't straight up hurt like that.
“Say it like what?” She said innocently.
Sasha begin to writhe, 15 seconds after that, the air returned to normal and she sat up, gasping.
“The questions,” She reminded him. As if he needed reminding.
"Swear to god, I'm gonna-" Ough. This woman. Xigbar cleared his throat. He grabbed his notepad off the table. "Hey, kid. Can you tell me who you are?"
"S-Sasha Waybright," she responded. Still seeming a bit out of it. Xigbar wrote it all down, the name and her condition.
"And do you know where you are?"
"It was…" Sasha put her face in her hand, like she had a migraine. "Some kind of tournament. White Boy Bracket? I was in a round and-" she looked up, pale. "I died?"
"Sure did, kiddo. But hey, who cares, right? Not like you're still dead!" Never talk to children again.
“That was a bit insensitive,” She said, “Check her physical condition? Mark down any changes you can see and then ask her if anything feels different.”
"Hi, yeah, no?" Sasha snapped, shakily getting to her feet. "No one's checking any of my physical conditions, thanks."
"Kid, chill. You're not getting touched. Just trying to make sure you didn't get fucked up in the resurrection, like some people. One guy didn't have a mouth for a while."
Sasha didn't look convinced. Still, she held her arms out in a T and turned.
"Great. Thanks. Not seeing anything unusual."
"Yeah, no, I could've told you that."
“I did say to ask her.” Showie said.
"Yeah, well, nothing's weird." Sasha rolled her eyes.
"See what I mean?" Xigbar laughed. "The kid's got some balls! Fuckin' love that! Just mouthing off to the Showrunner like it's no biggie!"
“Yeah, well,” Showie said, “There should be a room off to the side. New clothes, food, place to rest. Put her there.”
Xigbar gestured with his head the direction she was supposed to go in. Sasha rolled her eyes again, but went into the designated room.
“Alright,” Showie said, “Pretty successful control. Personality seemed intact, yes?”
"Most personality I've seen from a kid her age in a while." When it came to personality, Roxas and Xion were Not It. At least, not for a while.
“Oh, you should meet Annabeth. Percy, too. But they’re both solidly off limits. If Percy lost, I think I’d rig it. Anyway, onto Stede.”
"Right. So, rinse and repeat with what happened with Sasha, then just kill him again? Just to confirm."
“Yes. Avoid too much blood loss or head trauma, though, Blood loss would only frighten the others once it was their turn. Head trauma could muddy the results.”
"Cauterizing shot through the heart. Got it."
She hummed in agreement. He reset the ritual, this time using Stede, and relit it. Time for cold again. "So if the conversation wasn't 'that bad', then why did you say I should be nervous?" He chuckled.
A sort of evil giggle, “Oh, you don’t need to be nervous.”
Chuckle revoked.
"Okay, now I am nervous."
“No, no it’s fine! We just- you know, I didn’t really have anyone to talk to, so we talked! And it was fine! Now, the cold.”
He was ready this time.
"... You can talk to me-" That came out way more pitiful than he meant. Good job beating the poor little meow meow allegations, Xigbar.
“Not about this,” She laughed, “Anyway, did you put all of Team We Cause Problems into the match? Sasha, Stede- Virgil?”
"Nah, just Sasha and Stede. If I'm going purple, it's gonna be that Afton guy."
“Oooooh,” She said, “Oh, the effects of degradation on him would be fascinating. You know he’s already a living rotting corpse? That’s why he’s purple, he’s decayed! We might even do him a favor, reviving him. Set him right.”
"You want me to save him for when you get back, then? So you can see?"
“Hmm. Yes.” She sounded pleased, “It'll be interesting. He moving now?”
"Yeah, doin' the floppy thing." Don't make a dick joke. Don't make a dick joke. Don't make a dick joke.
“Pfft,” She laughed, “You know what else?”
"What? Did you just-?!"
“Oh, you know! Ah! He awakens!” She said, apparently she had the timing memorized, because Stede did, in fact, Awaken.
"Hang on- did you seriously just make a dick joke-"
“You walked right into it! Now, pay attention to our guest.”
Dear fucking god he was in love.
"Right, ah-" he cleared his throat, and rattled off the questions.
When Stede answered accordingly, Xigbar wrote everything down. Then, without giving him a chance to react, shot him right through the heart. Stede was dead before he hit the ground, and not a single drop of blood spilled. Goddamn he's good.
"Goddamn, I'm good."
“Yeah, yeah. Bring him back. Pretend like the first one didn’t happen, but ask him if he’s seen you recently.”
"Alright, fine."
Run through of the ritual again. Did it Have to be this cold? There is no reason anything should be this cold. Christmastown wasn't even this cold. Stede still answered appropriately. Seemed a little frightened.
Now for the good question.
"Have you seen me at all recently?"
"Y-yes, you just shot me."
"Oh, did I? My bad."
Bang.
Xigbar laughed like it was the best joke he'd seen in forever. It kinda was. I mean, the look on that guy's face? Absolutely priceless.
“Okay, okay, look him over for non-arrowgun damage and then bring him back,” She said, trying not to laugh, “Just turn him over with your foot or something.”
"Alright, alright, just- give me a second-" He needed to calm down. "Fuck, I wish you were here. You should've seen his face when I shot him!"
“I wish we could do video call, but then-” She paused, “But then tu-sais-qui would be able to hear you. And I don't mean, you know. Mon ex-mari. If only I had headphones.”
"Ah, well. When you're here, we can do this again."
Xigbar nudged Stede over, looking him over for wounds. "Well… He's missing an eyebrow, but nothing else."
“Oh, weird. That’s new. Mark it down- that’s near the head, so. Hm. Carry on.”
"Right."
Ran through it again. Still cold. Less bad though. Getting used to it?
From the get go, Stede looked scared. Especially once he laid eyes on Xigbar. Good. Be afraid. Xigbar had barely even opened his mouth before the guy took off running. He made it past him, but not much farther before he slipped and fell. In a moment of total clarity and definitely not panic, Xigbar may have. Accidentally slipped and shot Stede perfectly through the heart again. Whoopsie.
"Oops."
“What happened?”
"So. Totally normal, but uh- I may have jumped the gun. Literally. He tried to make a run for it. Knee jerk reaction, I killed him again."
“Oh. Well. Try not to do that,” She didn’t sound mad, “But we have the answer to at least one question. He definitely remembered you.”
"Tell me about it." Xigbar kicked the body- wait. No wonder he fell. "Dude's got two left feet. No wonder he ate floor."
“What, literally? Bizarre. I wonder if it’s just the degradation or if it’s how soon they’re happening, one after the other. Uh, hm. How unethical are we willing to get?”
"Doll, I'm willing to do a lot more than you'll make me. I'm ready to get downright heinous in here."
“Nothing heinous, just… perhaps a bit psychologically cruel? It would be interesting to see what would happen if we spaced the deaths out a little more. Once a day? Once a week? But I- I wouldn’t want to leave them in that sort of consistent, unending fear. Can you kill subtly? I don’t want them to see it coming. Perhaps we can hook them up to some sort of drip? We do have a hospital room adjacent to the lab… we could tell them that they’re hurt, that it’s a sedative? Pretend they’re in a hospital, so they don’t run? And of course I would work to undo any degradation they experienced once I got back.”
"... Good fucking lord." He needed a second. "You have no idea how hot that was, oh my god."
“W-well now I’m worried, was that worse than just killing them? I don’t want them to, like, sit in the fear!”
"No, no, you're fine. Just. Wow. I wanna study your brain." And also maybe. Yeah. Please laugh.
Small laugh, “That’s not very reassuring. I-is that a good idea or should we think of something else? Or, in either case, who should it be? Our test subject I mean.”
“Hm,” He checked his notes, “Washington?”
“Oooh, yes. I wouldn’t mind getting unethical with that creep. That came out wrong.”
"HA! You can get unethical with me anytime." The floodgates are open. Here come the sex jokes.
“Just revive him!” She said, laughing, “We can do this later!”

Nijisanji Mario Kart Tournament 2022
Tumblr media
It’s December which means Nijisanji Marikart Tournament is back in full swing. There are 81 participants this year, 3 more then last year and overseas livers aren’t participating once again. Though hopefully someone from Niji En does a watch along like what they did with Koshien.
What is Marika: Marika is short for Mario Kart which is held as a tournament every year in December by Kenmochi Touya. This is the fifth year of Marika and will also most likely be the last year Kenmochi hosting the competition itself. Currently there are three winners in the entire tournament itself; Naurse Naru (won both the 1st and 3rd Tournaments), Kuzuha (won the 2nd Tournament), and Sasaki Saku (won the most recent, 4th). The tournament is split into three parts, the lottery to decide leagues, the qualifying rounds to make it into the quarterfinals, and main tournament which holds the quaterfinals, semifinals, and finals.
Along with the competition itself, there is also a vote for each league on who most likely to win first and who’s mostly to come last (it’s mostly just jokes tho), as well as each participant intermission scenes which can vary from promotions to questionable things.
Rules for Marika: All Stages including DLC allowed, All items on, All karts/bikes allowed, 150cc, usually 4-6 races depending on current round, Everyone has to use their Mii, Excluding seeded; Ten players are in each league, The top 5 in their respective league moves onto the main round, Seeded Players automatically moves to the main round.
During the main round, the 40-ish remaining players, including seeded, will go off in one of four leagues. The top 6 in these leagues go onto the semi finals made of two groups. The top 6 in these groups then goes to the final. If there is ever a tie among the cutoff (ex. Tie for 5th in qualifiers, tie for 6th in semifinals, tie for any of the top 3 in finals), participants continue to compete until the tie is broken.
Dates: (12/4) Lottery, (12/11) Tournament, (12/18) Finals
Tumblr media
Lottery Results:
Seeded Players (Top 11 last year, gets to skip qualifiers): Sasaki, Nagao, Fuwa, Naurse, Rindou, Kuzuha, Hoshikawa, Akina, Ange, Yashiro, Kirame
League A: Akane, Honma, Todoroki, Karuta, Alice, Fumi, Kanae, Eli, Hibari, Ex Albio
League B: Sister Claire, Ars, Kaida, Hisui, Levi, Natsume, Akira, Muyu, Yotsuha, Ratna
League C: Aki, Higuchi, Haruka, Mao, Kanato, Kanda, Emma, Seraph, Youko, Belmond
League D: Ritsuki, Hakase, Lain, Naraka, Rion, Luis, Lauren, Mito, Utako, Kou
League E: Rinne, Debidebi, Chaika, Shellin, Dola, Yorumi, Ririmu, Lize, Ponto, Gilzaren
League F: Gwelu, Tomoe, Kenmochi, Masaru, Shiba, Aizono, Oliver, Riri, Gundo, Mugi
League G: Fumino, Elu, Furen, Gaku, Yumeoi, Harusaki, Ibrahim, Amamiya, Leos, Shiina
Tumblr media
Things that personally caught my eyes: League G is just stacked, nearly everyone in here had made it past qualifiers at least once so that will be extremely fun to watch. There are 11 seeded players this year as opposed to the usual 7 so congrats to Akina for finally getting into seeded after being 8th three years in a row.
Some livers I wanted to participate in like Genzuki and Shachou aren’t here this year sadly but at least all of my oshis are in the seeded so I can take the opportunity to watch new livers this time around.
GL too all the participating livers, this year I personally want Nagao to win but anyone will do. Please look forward to the entire competition as much as I do!

Saintia Sho Review 1.
Part. 0
After reading the first few chapters of Saintia Sho, until chapter 9, it's time to give my initial opinion.
Shoko's connection to Eris is understandable to connect the protagonist to the villain and Kyoko taking her place as Eris' vessel seems like a good move to me. Since Kyoko wasn't supposed to be the receptacle for the goddess which makes Eris weakened and also takes away a capable defender from Saori by replacing her with Shoko who is very inexperienced.
So both goddesses are on equal terms (for now).
But I don't agree with Kyoko not communicating with Shoko during her five years of training, okay she can't go visit her or talk to her about what she's really doing, but not even writing her a letter about everything being okay or something doesn't make sense.
I'm not sure what to think about Saori being a gifted girl who already finished school and only attends for a special course on business management, on the one hand she's supposed to be the goddess of wisdom and was trained for this since she was little, but in the original manga the only strategy she used was the Trojan Horse (which always worked).
Not to mention that during the first chapters of the manga she was quite cold until she underwent a radical change, here she is kinder from the beginning.     I'll see how the Saori thing goes.
I don't have a problem with Mii using the force to defend Saori but using the Cosmos inside the school is a bit risky because someone might see her, it's true that they were in a secluded area of the school but you never know.
But she gave a very good explanation about the cosmos for Shoko (and the readers) so I forgive her.
Her being able to stand up to the enemies that are put in front of her also helps, I'm sure she and Kyoko are at first stronger than most of the Bronze Saints.
I don't agree that Shoko's training only lasts a few days.
Is it necessary to advance the plot? Yes!.
She's supposed to have a superior ability to use cosmos because she's the vessel of a God? Also, yes.
Does that mean I have to like that? No.
I haven't seen much of the Sanctuary, other than Milo ready to finish his mistake from years ago with the sisters.
But having the dryad Ate point out that there is possibly going to be a civil war in the Sanctuary I like since after all her "Mother" is the goddess of Discord, I wonder how much of the original manga will be shown.
About Jabu who appeared a bit I'll see if he has any more importance and it was also shown again that Mitsumasa Kido sent children to their death and I think Tatsumi only appeared a couple of times, I hope he doesn't appear anymore.
From what I understand the Galactic Tournament is supposed to start in the next few chapters and Shoko is lost in the enemy territory, let's see how this continues.

SMASH Bros. Part 1
There is a part two but I might rewrite it, who knows!
Any'ays! This fic is to be blames on @tortilla-of-courage for their amazing art that made me go 'what if Sky and Wild' and thus this was born. (Please check out Tort's stuff, they literally inspire me so much and never fail to produce laughs)
When Link first met the kid, he was leaning up against his kart and chatting with a few of the other Smashers. The last race of the season had just finished, and after offering Peach his sincere congratulations, he had paused to chatter with the rest of his fellow racers. It had been a good day; he’d come in third place, much to the joy of himself and his friends, and he was looking forwards to going home and helping Zelda finish the house they’d been building on the surface.
As the other racers waved goodbye, heading off to their karts to settle their things, he was just turning to do the same when there was a flash from what Master Hand called ‘the loading zone’. All eyes turned to the stone stage; they’d all been intending on heading over there anyway to be ‘loaded’ out and back to their own worlds, but they hadn’t expected anyone else to be loading in.
Something he’d learned was that each racer loaded with a different sort of light. Mario (the annoying gremlin) and his crew tended to enter the field in a flash of red or green, Villagers tended to come with a swarm of blue and the occasional stranger, who usually identified themselves as being from the land of Mii, come with a white light. Link himself was the only one to come with the gold of Hylia’s favor, and he’d never seen someone else transport the same way. Well.... Until now.
The kid, because until they had an age Link figured it would be safe to call him a kid, was Hylian, dressed in a blue tunic and with short cut blonde hair, he stood on the stage staring down at the rest of them, his entire being the definition of uncertainty.
“Well look at that, they do switch you guys out for racing.” Samus quipped, raising a brow.
Her words gained an instant reaction, and over half of the field turned to him with varying expressions of disappointment.
“Nice knowing you, Link. We'll miss you.” Luigi called over, looking particularly sad. They’d bonded a lot about being boys in green and their shared annoyance with Mario’s need to be the center of attention most of the time. So, it was nice that Luigi looked disappointed about whatever they thought was happening, but that didn’t change the fact that Link had no clue what they were all talking about.
“Guys, I’m coming back next season, no need to get upset.”
“That’s not how it works, lil’ dude.” Samus sighed. “Links rotate. When a new one shows up, that means the old one has to leave or switch up his act.”
Hang on, what? “Links? Plural?”
“That’s right,” The Smash fighter groaned. “We never told you about that, did we? You see, Link, when you guys leave, the Smash team is gonna be coming in and setting up for our games, and it’s well known among all Smashers that when a new Link shows up, the old one has to pack his bags and leave. It’s a popularity thing, fans always like the newbie best and having two around just confuses people unless there’s a clear distinction, like with Mask and Tune; you couldn’t confuse those two even if you wanted to.”
“Who are they?” He’s only heard about those two in passing, and only in the end of a racing season when most of the players from the Mushroom kingdom are getting ready for the Smash Tournaments. He’d figured they were just more fighters, like all the other countless names he’s heard them all say, but apparently, they’re relevant to him?
“Links.” Samus chuckled, no small amount of warmth in her tone. “You’ll understand in a couple years or so. Anyways, good luck going forwards, dude.” And with those words the fighter was grabbing her helmet and moving towards the main track, likely to set up the fighting stages with the others who’d just arrived or who were staying.
Link found himself frowning, gaze turning to the kid on the loading platform. He’d never heard of there being multiple Links, but there was always a chance that someone else’s parents had been crazy enough to name their kid the same thing as him. It wasn’t entirely impossible, but for not one, but apparently four people with the same name to be called to attend Smash and Kart races? Well, that was a bit of a stretch.
Samus wasn’t the only one to wish him luck as he moved to loading zone. Slaps on the back and warm hugs were offered by almost everyone (Bowser nearly knocked him on his face with how hard he smacked his back). It was... nice, knowing they all cared about him, but he was still confused as to why everyone thought he wasn’t coming back. He was coming back, right? Maybe that was something he needed to talk to Master Hand about.
When he finally reached the loading zone, the presumed Link was still there, looking utterly and completely lost, and while a tired and maybe slightly annoyed part of him wanted him to just let the kid figure everything out himself (he liked racing and he was more than slightly upset at the idea of being made to stop), the other part of him, the part that was entirely incapable of letting a someone go without help when they needed it, made him stop and offer the other a smile.
“You good there?”
Cornflower blue eyes turned to him, wide and lost and so entirely reminiscent of Zelda's own that they gave him pause for a moment. The kid didn’t say anything in reply to him, just stared as if he could see into his very soul.
He shuffled slightly in place, uncomfortable with the attention and even more so with the silence. “Uh, I’m Link.” That sounded a bit rude, as if he was proclaiming himself the only one, and if Samus was right then he wasn’t so he added on. “What’s your name?”
“I’m Link.” The kid mimicked, head cocking and eyes narrowing slightly.
For an uncomfortable amount of time, the only sounds were those of the racers below bustling and chattering. Distant laughter sounded, making the new kid’s ears twitch towards the noise, but his gaze never left the confused Hylian Hero.
“Goodbye, Link.” Peach’s voice startled both of them, although the kid didn’t jump nearly as much as Link did at the princess’s sudden appearance, instead edging away with a wary look on his face. The princess offered the newbie a smile and then darted over to give Link a hug. “We’ll miss you, dear.”
Peach’s hugs were always a sort of uncomfortable affair, but he returned it the bast he could without becoming trapped in her hair. “I’m not going anywhere? Well, I mean, I’m going home, but I’ll be coming back soon.”
Peach’s pulled back with a smile that he’d only ever seen people give someone utterly clueless, and he felt it rather pointedly. “If you say so. I’d best head back to check on things in the kingdom before the Tournaments get started. Toodle-loo.” A wave of a gloved hand and the princess was moving to start on the ‘loading dock’.
The stage flashed red, light pouring down and doing whatever it did that made them form and disappear. The new kid (new Link) started, jumping backwards at the sudden flash. It would have been fine, and not entirely unexpected, but the kid’s jump distance was impressive and his foot skidded right off the edge of the stage, body following quickly after with a startled yelp that was cut off just in time as Link’s hand closed around the kid’s wrist.
Breathing heavily, both at the sudden movement of darting forwards to stop the newbie from offing himself, and at his own adrenaline spike, he found himself meeting the faintly glowing blue gaze of the other. “Careful.” It was a bit of a late warning, but it got the faintest twitch of a smile out of the kid.
He’d hauled the other up, leaving the both of them sitting on the stage as the new Link stared back at where Peach had just been a moment ago. “I’ve never been on this side.”
“Of teleporting?” Link asked, and at the kid’s nod he smiled. “Yeah, it’s pretty odd the first few times. You’ll get used to seeing people do it though, don’t worry. Just make sure to give them space when they do it so you don’t get carried off too, and-” He chuckled breathlessly. “Maybe avoid standing too close to edge.”
A firm nod and a glance at the offending drop-off assured him that the kid understood and would, hopefully, take his words to heart.
“So...:” He trailed off, unsure of what to say after that. The kid just stared at him, head cocked to one side and openly curious. The cagey stare was gone, perhaps in wake of having his life (or one of them anyway) saved by the other man.
“Where are we?”
The words startled him a bit, but he offered a lop-sided smile to the other and motioned to the tracks below. “Kart tracks. We race around and after the season is over, they turn it into a fighting arena.”
“Arena.” The kid repeated, nodding firmly. “I- I know that. But what-” A flush of pale and scarred cheeks. “What are karts?”
“I’ll show you.” He offered, jumping to his feet and offering the other a hand. “I don’t have to get back home right away anyways.”
Hesitation glimmered in cornflower blue as they darted from Link’s face down to his offered hand and back.
“Come on.” He urged again. “Unless you’re scared.”
The kid scowled, taking the hand and letting himself be pulled to his feet. “I’m not scared.”
“Good.” Link grinned, taking off towards his kart. The kid followed after.
Maybe he should have questioned where the kid came from; he was hylian but Link had never seen him on the sky islands before. Maybe he should have asked why the kid was there, or why the master sword was embroidered on his tunic. Maybe he should have put two and two together and recognized that the kid must be a hero like himself. But he didn’t, neither did, instead, they went down and spent an hour or more marveling at the wonders of karts and the playful racing going on by competitors for one last time before the track was taken down for the season.
“Link?”
Sky blue turned up to meet cornflower hues. “Huh? Oh! Hey kid! What’s up?”
The new Link (does he still count as new after a week?) shuffles his feet, standing in front of the older boy as Link works at mending his sailcloth. Technically, he should be home, Zelda is still waiting for him, but then he’d found out that this kid is essentially unfamiliar with everything and his bleeding heart made him stay. It’s not like Zelda would notice; time stopped altogether when he was in this place, so he could help The Kid out as long as he needed to before heading back and no one but he would be any the wiser to how long he’d been away.
“I-”
“You can sign, I don’t mind.” he reminds the younger. He’s learned that The Kid is more fluent that way, and easily more comfortable. Just because he himself isn’t as familiar with the dialect doesn’t mean he won’t make an effort for the teen.
‘Everyone is saying that I’m part of a smash? I talked to the big hand and it said I am smashing something. What does that mean?”
“Oh!” So, The Kid was a Smash hero, not a racer, maybe Link would get to return next season after all! “Here,” He pats the ground in front of him, smiling up at The Kid until the younger boy is sitting criss-cross in front of him. “I can explain. Smash is an event, what they’re getting ready for now. It’s a big game where a lot of warriors spar against each other and practice their powers. It helps them train their abilities and it’s apparently a lot of fun.” He shrugs. “I never joined, it’s not really my sort of thing, but I’m friends with some of the Smashers.”
‘We fight?’ The Kid cocks his head, one ear raising while the other droops slightly, it’s not something The Kid can help, he’s found, but the droopy ear makes his expressions far too endearing for a heavily scarred warrior. Still, it also makes him sad that The Kid can’t express himself properly anymore after whatever happened to make him like this.
“Yeah. Not to hurt each other of course, just to have fun.”
The Kid blinks at him, still not understanding.
“Have you seen foxes?” He tries, because if there’s one thing this kid seems to know it’s every single animal that appears in the stadium, and it’s only with his help that Link has learned as many as he has, so maybe this will work.
‘Red? Pointed ears? Soft tail?’
“Yeah, those ones!” Fi had to explain them to him but he’s picked up a bit from the other people he’s talked to. “Fox babies like to fight when they play, so they can learn to fight bad animals when they get older.”
‘No bad animals. Bigger animals.” The Kid signs, brows furrowing. ‘Bigger isn’t bad, just a predator.’
“Yeah, they learn to fight off predators by playing with each other. The Smashers do the same thing. They play so they can fight. Is that better?”
The Kid nods, tapping his fingertips to his chin in a sign of thanks and turning back to stare at where Pikachu and one of the other new Smashers are tussling in the grass. It’s not an uncommon sight right before the Tournaments, but the new Link stares at it curiously before walking away.
Link watches him go, curious, but willing to let the newbie explore on his own. When he needs something, he’ll be back.
He’s back.
The Kid comes back only an hour or so later looking confused and more than just a bit feather-ruffled. It makes Link laugh as The Kid sits down in front of him, brows furrowed. “I don’t like fighting.”
He raises a brow, dropping the repairs to his sailcloth. “Oh? Did you try it?”
“Orange lady.” The Kid points towards where Samus is standing and stretching near the newly erected fighting stage. “She made me fight her.”
“Oof.” The wince is in no means fake as he thinks of that. The Kid is only about his height, maybe a bit shorter, and in her boots Samus is easily a foot taller, and considerably more built than either of them. He can only imagine how that ended for the younger hylian. “Yeah, Samus is pretty scary, even if you have a weapon.”
“A weapon?” The Kid cocks his head, face blank as if the thought had never occurred to him.
Link blanches. “You fought her barehanded? How- Are- You’re-” He splutters for a moment more before dragging a hand through his hair, a startled chuckle rumbling out of him. “Wow. Even I can’t do that, and I-” And he’s killed a god, but he doesn’t really want to say that. The only reason it’s on his lips is because he and Groose have joked about it so much. It’s easier to process a joke than reality, so it makes thinking over his adventure less of a struggle if he can laugh at it all, but it’s not something he really wants to go spreading around. “Well, I’ve fought a fair share of monsters. Are you a brawler?”
The Kid shrugs. “What’s a weapon?”
Oh, so not a brawler, he just doesn’t know what a weapon is. Okay, that’s not concerning, Nope, not at all. “A weapon is a tool you use to protect yourself and others.” He explains. “Like Princess Peach uses her umbrella or a frying pan, or how Samus has those little cannons on her arms.”
The Kid just stares at him and before he knows it, he finds himself explaining as much as he remembers about weapons from attending the academy. The Kid nods along, a light turning on in glowing blue hues as one of his ears twitches. “Like the Master Sword?”
That gives him pause for a moment, but he nods. “Yes.” His voice is almost dreamy to his own ears. “Just like the Master Sword.”
The new Link nods, and again he stands, moving off into the crowd. Link lets him go.
The Kid loads out the next day, and Link has every intention of doing the same; he’s no longer needed and he’s dying to see Zelda, and Crimson, and even Groose (okay a lot Groose), but Master Hand holds him back (almost literally) and tells him to wait. And after spending a whole day either napping or helping to keep the Pokémon out of trouble, he realizes why. The golden light of Hylia’s favor shines on the loading stage, and then The Kid is standing there, hair singed, clothes filthy and face weary. He drops what he’s doing without question and moves towards the stage, only just managing to catch The Kid again as the younger hylian almost trips right off the stage rather than going down the stairs. The Kid just sags in his arms, looking defeated and exhausted.
Ah, a bad day. He doesn’t speak as he lifts The Kid up, startling big blue eyes open to stare at him, but when he smiles down at him The Kid relaxes in his hold, and while he doesn’t look comfortable with being carried over to the Smashers’ resting station, he doesn’t fight against it either. The Kid is out like a light once they’ve been sitting for a bit, and had Link not been napping much of the day he would have surely followed, what with a warm weight pressed against his side like a baby loftwing and all. He manages to stay up though, chatting quietly with Luigi while the other green-clad racer finishes touching up the extra karts one last time before they’re put away.
The Kid wakes an hour later, and after Isabella shoves nearly four plates down the kid’s throat he finally speaks.
“I found the Master Sword.”
“Oh.” He hadn’t expected that. “Really?”
“Yeah.” The Kid wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, and Link has to resist the urge to remind him that there are napkins available if he wants. “Impa said I would need it, but I-” cornflower blue become shaded with clouds as slightly charred brows furrow. “I’m not strong enough yet.”
He nods. Fi can be quite picky about things, and if she, in her sleeping state, could sense that The Kid wasn’t ready, she likely wouldn’t let him touch her. He’s surprised that the kid even needs her though, or that he can supposedly wield her at all. Isn’t it only meant to be the goddess and her chosen that can wield the sacred blade?
The Kid goes onto explain, in far more words than he’d ever used before, although it’s intermixed with quite a bit of sign, that he’s been adventuring for almost a month now, and it’s both the most amazing and most frustrating thing in the world. He likes exploring and gathering and working towards a goal, but he’s struggling with dealing with the ‘red people’ that keep attacking him, and monsters are also tricky. Knowing what he does though, Link can make a decent guess as to what the problem is.
“Maybe I can help.” He offers, and his breath is nearly stollen by the hopeful look in the Kid’s eyes. “Here,” He offers his hand. “I know you said you don’t like sparring, but let's try it the two of us, I’ll teach you a bit about swords, maybe it could help you!”
And it does. The Kid is a natural, and he picks down what Link offers him almost immediately. Before he knows it, they’re dancing around in a mock battle, the Kid’s eyes shining as a bright grin stretches over his face, wider with every clash and swing. When they collapse onto the grass beside the fighting stage, they’re both gasping for breath but laughing, adrenaline pumping through their slightly sore bodies as they lay there.
“Thank you, Link.”
“Any time, kiddo.” He smiles in return.
It’s a month of days before the Master Hand tells him he has to leave. In that time the new Link has been in and out, and Link himself has been able to watch as the Kid took on his first Smash Brawl, he’d cheered loudly the entire time and congratulated the kid when he’d tripped back over, sore and a bit bruised from facing off against one of the princesses, but grinning up at Link excitedly, hands dancing with words that the skyloftian is only just able to catch a few of.
He’s proud of how far the Kid has gotten, and he’s said as much, but he’s also homesick and all too glad to be told her can go.
The Kid isn’t nearly as happy as he is though.
“Do you have to?”
“Yeah,” He tries to smile but it’s bittersweet now to be leaving. He hasn’t seen his friends in months and he’s itching to do something useful with himself, no matter how nice his little impromptu vacation has been. But on the other hand, leaving means leaving the behind, and he doesn’t even know when he’ll be back, if he will at all. He got so caught up in helping the Kid that he forgot to talk to Master Hand about whether he was being replaced or not.
The Kid stares at him, sorrowful blue eyes nearly make him want to cry as the teenager tries to put on a brave face, doubt glimmering past the mask regardless. “I’ll miss you.”
He chokes backa slightly teary laugh, throwing his arms around the kid and hugging his tight. “You too. I’ll try and come back to visit though, even if I don’t race. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“Do us proud.” he smiles, fidgeting with the Kid’s rumpled tunic and straightening the shoulders out from where he’d creased them by hugging the other. “Show them what we Hylian’s are made of.”
“I will.”
For a minute, he lingers at the base of the stairs, gaze caught on the Kid who stands only a few feet away, the Master Sword no proudly strapped to his back after endless coaching and advice from Link on how to train himself to where Fi would consider him strong enough. The kid stares back at him, expectant and waiting, and while Link knows that what is expected is him to say a final goodbye and march up the stairs to the loading zone, something inside of him (his inner wish for a little brother maybe) has him doing the opposite. He darts forwards, catching the kid in his arms a second time and promptly undoing all the adjusting he’d just done.
“Last hug.” he whispers into the one droopy ear, before pulling back and once more adjusting everything the way it had been. The Kid grins at him, and while usually he’d be being swatted away, the other let’s him fuss until he’s quite satisfied.
There’s so much he wants to say, and no words to say it. He wants to tell The Kid he’s proud, that he’ll do great and to always have faith in himself. He wants to remind him that when he goes back to adventuring, he can handle whatever journey it is that he’s undertaken. He wants to offer a last piece of advice, because who knows when next The Kid will need it and he won’t be around, and he wants to hug him again and again to make sure that The Kid knows it’s okay to touch other people, it’s okay to love and it’s okay to care.
There’s so much that goes unsaid as he climbs the stairs to the loading zone. And when Hylia’s golden light dances around him and the world starts to dim, the last thing he sees are cornflower blue eyes staring at him from the edge of the loading platform, one hand raised in a simple sign that makes his heart clench.
‘Love you.’
When Link first saw the portal appear in the center of the new surface village, his first thought was that Ghirahim must have reappeared to cause shit. The skyloftians had all stopped what they were doing to stare at the thing in worry, confusion and not a little fear. Link himself had had his head up a chimney coating the stones, and it had been Groose kicking him that alerted him that something was wrong. And how wrong!
The black triangle floating in the middle of town was being avoided at all costs as people flocked towards Zelda, trying to ask the goddess incarnate what was happening and what they should do. Over their heads, cornflower blue locked with his own, a resigned yet desperate expression as she glanced over at the portal. The message was clear; investigate while she calmed everyone down. He nodded, pulling himself up and wiping clay off of his hands before moving towards the thing, Groose following behind.
The big man squawked in surprise when Link’s first action had been to try and touch the thing, and the Chosen Hero had been promptly yanked back by his friend as golden eyes had stared him down like he was crazy.
“You’re just gonna touch it? You don’t even know if it’s safe!”
“Well, it isn’t hurting anyone.” He mumbled, flushing slightly. It wasn’t his fault his first thought when seeing something new was that he wanted to touch it!
Groose had kept a sharp eye on that, murmuring about ‘stupid, curious little twinks’ until Zelda had finally joined them. It had taken much staring and even more discussing before it was finally agreed that this portal like thing must be explored, and that the best way to do that was have someone who knew this sort of thing handle it. Thus, Link found himself standing outside the portal with a packed bag of all his items (who knew what he’d be needing for this) and the sailcloth slung carefully over his shoulders. Zelda offered him a light kiss as she buckled the baldric of the Master sword across his chest.
“Good luck, Link. Be safe alright? I know Fi is sleeping, but with her you should be able to protect yourself from anything over there, but if it gets too much, come back for us, okay?”
“Okay.” He chuckled, pulling her in for another kiss, and pointedly ignoring how Groose rolled his eyes at them. “You guys stay safe too. Hopefully whatever this is won’t take too long.”
Zelda nodded, stepping back and folding her hands in that way that reminded him too much of her time preforming her duties as the Spirit Maiden. The thought was knocked out of his head though as Groose pulled him into a hug, lifting him straight off the ground for a moment as Link felt his ribs creak slightly.
“Good luck, Twink,” Groose offered by ways of a farewell, releasing the hero and holding him at arm's length as he leveled him with a sharp glare. “Don’t die, okay? Because if you make Zelda cry I will personally come find your body and kill you.”
“Okay.” He chuckled, something inside of him sighing relief as he was set back onto his feet. He started though when Groose grabbed the ends of the sailcloth and untied it, taking instead a fabulous blue brooch from somewhere and using it to fasten the fabric again.
“For luck.” The ex-bully explained. “Because I sure as anything am not giving you a kiss.”
That earned a laugh from both himself and Zelda, and Groose finally broke down and grinned in return, offering his fist for a bump before stepping back to stand next to Zelda, one big hand coming to cover her shoulder.
“You two look after each other for me, okay?” He tried to joke. “And don’t have too much fun while I’m gone.”
“Hurry up and come back soon then!” Karane yells at him, grinning widely even as concern flickers in her eyes.
“All right, already!” He yells in return, and with a final look towards his friends he dives into the blackness.
What he isn’t expecting is to tumble out into a forest among eight other people who look equally confused and cautious at the existence of the others. He isn’t expecting to meet armor clad warriors and grouchy teenagers and short people who claim to be adults and a kid with a hood covering his face. He isn’t expecting to find out that they too are servants of the goddess when all of them recognize the sword on his back. He isn’t expecting to bond with these strangers and get to know them so well. More than anything though, he wasn’t expecting to see The Kid.
In the moment there’s no time to say anything, not when they’re all trying to figure out what to call each other and why they’re here, but later, after a few days, when things have settled down enough that they all feel safe sleeping around each other, he sits awake to watch the camp, gaze falling on the Kid, the Champion, Wild now, sitting a short distance away.
Neither say anything, but Wild waves a bit and Sky beams in return. They both go back to what they’re doing after that, but it doesn’t stop joy from flooding through both at finding the other again so unexpectedly.

Info about Smash "Mansion"
The Castle where Smash takes place, dubbed “Smash Mansion” by the veterans, is Big: the secondary structure of the castle is about 18 stories tall, while the main building is 22. The main part is where most of the stages are.
(Two-thirds of the stages take place in enormous holo-chamber arenas within the castle; the other third are scattered around the grounds or on other parts of the planet.)
The residential parts of the castle are on floors 13-15 of the smaller secondary part: each floor can hold 100 people, but everyone’s pretty spread out over all three floors.
Internally, the part of the castle that contains the rooms looks like a hotel, with tan walls and soft, dark plum carpet for the hallways. However, these hallways are very, very long, and windy; it’s not a straight path, as it bends to the left and right after a certain point. During the time between tournaments, when there are very few people, it can seem like a horror story where the hotel halls literally stretch forever. This accidental horror tone is added to in the parts where one can see the parts that in no way line up with the hotel interior: the slanted parts, the heavy stone walls in a certain hall, the oddly circular nature of some rooms in the towers. When nobody's around, it's honestly creepy.
Each room has two or three beds and a closet and dresser for for each, and a shared bathroom for all of them. (Think like a Hotel.)
There’s also a small inset kitchen in a few of the rooms, and a microwave in all of them, so the Smashers can try to cook something if they don’t want to go down to eat or order room service.
Also, yes, there is room service, but it’s pretty expensive. (That’s what the obtainable coins are used for in-universe: the higher-end services, such as room service or a bus ride to the nearby town.) The cafeteria is free, but you have to actually go down there and get your food.
Also, the castle has amazing Wi-Fi.
A small town sits about twelve miles from Smash Mansion on the mainland, with a population of about 56. It has a few small cafes, a bar, and a small grocery store for those who need supplies, or who think the Mansion’s food gets bland after a while. Most of the inhabitants are Miis.
(Some frozen stuff like ice cream is sold within the castle itself, because 12 miles is a long distance to travel with ice cream.)

"eh?! what do you mean you're moving?!" reki shrieked out in surprise, accidentally tripping over his feet and landing on the ground
the distant sounds of cars honking and the few civilians chattering filled the air. it was almost dark and they had just gotten off work and were on their way home.
y/n sighed and picked up his skateboard, nodding her head lightly with a frown. "yeah.. my mom said we have to move soon" she said. "but.. why?" reki frowned as he stood up to meet eyes with her.
"well, my mom got a better paying job there so she said we should just move, i guess" she replied, her tone laced with guilt. "oh.." reki muttered. he kicked his feet on the ground, looking down as y/n peers at him with a guilty frown.
"im sorry reki" she whispered with a soft whimper "i guess i should've told you a lot sooner.." she said
reki looked up at her and shook his head. "no, no! it's fine, don't worry.." he reassured with a shaky smile "um..where exactly will you be moving to?" reki asked her
"miyagi" she answered quietly, sheepishly kicking her feet back and forth, causing the rumbling sound of the wheels hitting the pavement to fill the tense air.
"wow uh.." reki chuckled in surprise "that's really far.." he muttered. he then cleared his throat and shot her a shaky grin "well, atleast it snows over there!" he exclaimed. "maybe you can try snowboarding again" reki said, though it didn't seem to fill her with much comfort
"i heard there's a good amount of snow when you're deep in the mountains! you can even-"
"reki.." she cut him off with a soft whimper of his name
reki stopped and looked at her with a sad sigh. he pursed his lips and finally dropped the enthusiastic façade. "i don't wanna leave okinawa" she admitted with a pained sigh. "i don't wanna leave you"
".. a-and the others too ofcourse" she continued with a nervous chuckle "not just you.."
"i don't want you to leave too" reki chuckled as he wiped the tears brimming his eyes
he lightly punched her shoulder and took his board from her hands. "agh! you're gonna make me cry, you know!" he exclaimed. y/n smiled and let out a soft laugh "sorry, sorry" she said
reki pouted and hesitantly brought her into his arms, nibbling on his bottom lip and letting out a sigh as he squeezed her tight. "i'll really miss you, y/n" reki said.
she blinked repeatedly in shock and flusteredly wrapped her arms around him as well. "um-i-i'll miss you too reki.." she stammered out as she tried to fight off the heat that was rushing to her cheeks
suddenly, reki pulled away, much to her distaste, and fixed his stance. "let's skate together before you leave, yeah?" reki mused "just for tonight.. then we'll continue when you get back" reki smiled
"yeah. let's skate" she replied with a fond smile
the pair skated home, taking their usual route and doing some tricks here and there. though their usual chatter and banter was not present, and all there was, was silence that seemed to weight down on both of their chests with varying emotions.
they stopped at the block separating their houses, right under the street light where they always meet up with each other.
reki looked back at her and smiled. "well, this is where we part" he chuckled ."yeah.. i guess so.." y/n muttered back with a frown
reki sighed and nudged her with his elbow. "cmon, don't be like that" he said "its not like we'll never see each other again!" reki exclaimed with a laugh, though even he wasnt able to convince or reassure himself.
"you're just moving, no big deal! we have one more day to spend together and our friends and visit S" reki explained in a comforting tone
y/n sighed in distress and crouched down on the ground. she kept her board in place with her feet and stared at it with furrowed brows. "i guess you're right" she said. "but i really don't want to leave. im completely fine here in okinawa with you and the others."
"i wanna keep skating with you and go to hotsprings together and eat bentos and keep working at dope sketch!" she exclaimed with a look of affliction
reki frowned and sat down beside her, resting his chin on his hands and nodding along. "yeah, i wanna keep doing that too" he said "but we can't really do anything about it anymore"
"unless you wanna try begging your mom or something" reki joked with a laugh as he nudged her with his shoulder. "but it's not like that would work-... y/n?" reki sweat dropped as he looked at her only to be met with a look of determination and sparkling eyes.
"you're so smart, reki!" she praised "that's a great idea, we should do that! you're so amazing"
reki chuckled and cheekily grinned at her "ah shucks, you flatter me too much!" he giggled
"but were not gonna actually do that, right?" reki asked with a soft chuckle
".. right?"
"WE BEG YOU!" they simultaneously exclaimed as they got down on their hands and knees to bow
"w-what?! kids, what are you doing??" nanako exclaimed with a nervous smile as she tried to get them to stand up
Tumblr media
"PLEASE! DON'T TAKE Y/N AWAY!" reki cried out as he wrapped his arms around her in a bone crushing hold. "please!" y/n followed up with a determined look in her eyes as she stares at her mother expectantly
y/n loosely wrapped her arms around reki's waist and pouted "please, mom?" she pleaded as she accentuated her 'puppy eyes'. "please, hasegawa-san?" reki pleaded as well as he gave her his 'puppy eyes' for the extra cute effect
nanako seemed conflicted as she stares at their cutesy expressions with a look of dread. "what do i do?! they're too.. too cute!!" she cried to herself "help me, oliver !!!"
she then composed herself and cleared her throat. "well, im really sorry kids" she said "but my desicion is final." she stated with a determined huff "im doing this so we can earn more-"
she cut herself off as she caught sight of the two teens sulking and holding ecah other while a dark gloomily aura loomed over them. "ah well- i-" nanako stammered as she shakily reached her hand out to them with a guilty smile
she then sighed and let her arms hang by her sides. "im sorry, y/n, reki. but we need to move so i can earn more money and y/n won't have to work for me anymore" she explained "plus, i've already purchased the house so there's really no going back now"
"but im okay with working at dope sketch.." y/n muttered with a frown
"i know, but.." nanako smiled nervously "look at it this way! you'll go to a new school and make some friends! we can even try snowboarding during winter, won't you love that?"
y/n briefly glanced at reki and sighed. "sure.." she mumbled
nanako smiled and gently patted them both on the head. "you should hang out with your friends before we leave" she said "you'll regret wasting your time here, yknow?" nanako mused
reki and y/n nodded and went to put on their shoes. they grabbed their boards, and hastily skated to joe's restaurant
"ah jeez.." nanako muttered to herself as she watched them skate away. "teenagers are so hard to handle!!"
"help me oliver!!!"
"guys, we have something to say!" reki exclaimed as he abruptly slammed his hand down on the table, effectively gaining all of their attention.

"y/n is-"
"what is it you slime?" miya sneered as he continued sipping on his drink
"your girlfriend?" they all simultaneously said with a bored tone as they continued on eating their meals
"..." reki and y/n blinked and looked at each other in confusion. "what?" reki asked cluelessly "no that's not-"
"well its kinda obvious" shadow said with a chuckle "yeah, we kind of saw it coming" miya agreed
"what? no seriously, that's not what-" reki was once again cut off by joe who playfully punched him in the shoulder and grinned. "damn, didn't know you had it in you to ask her out" joe laughed "and i didn't think y/n would ever confe-"
"I'M MOVING TO MIYAGI!" she immediately cut him off, mainly to prevent joe's big mouth from spilling anything, and just to get it out of the way.
"WHAT?!" they all collectively exclaimed
"are you serious? that's pretty far away" shadow said with furrowed brows "yeah... what about S?" miya asked with a small frown
"i'll have to quit" y/n says as she steals a fry from cherry's plate "i'll go one last time later."
"miyagi.." cherry mumbled as he swats her hand away from his food. "where in miyagi will you be staying?" he asked. "i don't know" she answered with a shrug. "but im going to a school named aoba johsai i think."
"carla, tell me about that school." almost immediately, carla had responded. "okay master" it said.
"aoba johsai, also known as seijoh, is a private school located at miyagi prefecture. they are mostly known for their performance in volleyball, having competed in numerous tournaments and had made a name for themselves through the sport and successfully deemed themselves as a powerhouse school. "
"volleyball?" y/n hummed in curiosity "how do you play that?" she asked cherry. "i wouldn't know." he replied "though it's a sport where you play with a team. why? would you like to join?" he asked
"probably not" y/n shrugged
"oi, rookie! are you really moving?" joe asked with a small frown "S would get boring without you, yknow?"
"i am" she replied "and i think S would be fine with you guys and reki in it"
reki looked at her and smiled. the redhead slung his arm around her shoulders and picked up his board "how bout we have a beef one last time before you go?" reki suggested "we could all go against each other. just for the fun of it."
"sure, but you'll lose, just so you know" joe boasted as he flexed his biceps. "hah?! just cus you're bigger and more muscular doesn't mean you'll win!" reki whined
"yeah!" y/n agreed with a huff "reki has gotten better and much faster! and he knows more tricks now. he even did a snowboarding trick and-"
miya quickly cut her off before she could go on a full rant about the redhead. "let's just go" miya groaned out as he grabbed his board. "man, are you sure you're not together" shadow sweat dropped as he followed miya and dragged them both out of the restaurant
"we're not!" reki exclaimed with a laugh "why would you even think that would happen? we're just best friends"
"right.. best friends" y/n agreed
shadow sweat dropped as he turned to look at her, only to be met with her teary eyes and her quivering smile, looking like she’s on the verge of crying her eyes out like a child.
"are you okay?" shadow muttered sheepishly as he watched her hastily wipe her eyes and pout like a child "yes" she replied with a huff
"oh, is that so?" miya cooed with a cat-like grin as he stalked closer to her side "i mean it makes sense" he said "the heroine shouldn't be with a slime, after all"
shadow deadpanned as he watched miya slyly lock their arms together with a grin "so who should she be with? you?" he scoffed "ofcourse!" miya wholeheartedly agreed. "im the hero so the heroine should be with me!"
shadow sweat dropped as he watched miya hug her arm and look at them with a smug cat-like smirk. "dude, aren't you like thirteen?" shadow deadpanned
y/n smiled and patted his head with a soft laugh "yup, you're right" she agreed jokingly, her smile widening as miya's face exploded into bright shades of red. "i-it doesn't mean i like you though!" he shrieked out "im just saying that we would be compatible!!"
"i see." she muttered "japanese people are so hard to decipher"
cherry and joe came out of the restaurant and got on their boards, urging them to do the same. "cmon, let's go there before too many people arrive" joe said as he stretched his arms
"last one to arrive buys everyone boba!!" reki announced as he skated away, pulling y/n along as he does so
"ha?! oi! unfair you should've counted!!" shadow exclaimed before hastily catching up to them "hmp, as if i'll lose to any of you slimes." miya muttered as he sped up
"oh please. you all make me pay anyways." cherry mumbled with a sigh as he got on carla and calmly caught up to them
"well you got the most cash" joe shrugged with a grin
"shut up you gorilla."
"i'll really miss their banters." y/n mumbled as she looked back to watch joe and cherry hit  each other with their board. "hey, it's not like we can't visit you" reki laughed
"would you visit me reki?" she asked with a hopeful gleam in her eyes. "it would be strange not being with you.."
"of course! i'll visit you like every week!" reki reassured with a wide grin
"heh, as if you got the cash for that" shadow sneered from beside him.
"i-im gonna save up, then i'll visit you every week!" reki cleared his throat with a nervous laugh
her smile widened as she stared at reki in admiration and pure glee.
"okay, im counting on it!"
