Aegis had heard some chatter on her police scanner about a rowdy group causing a disturbance and had been a hell of a lot closer than the police officers who had called dibs. As she rounded the corner into the alley way she could hear the commotion from, however, she was met with something she hadn’t expected.

Another hero, perhaps? 

Oh, maybe not with that kind of dialogue. 

“Hey, no casualties, please.” Aegis came strolling into the alleyway, clad in a black hoodie and matching mask and attire. She held her hands up defensively, showing she came in peace, and laughed nervously as she took a few more stepped forward. “So, what seems to be the trouble here, folks?” 

Yeah, she needed to work on her dialogue too.

The dog harness was a more regular sight, Bear all too happy to be out on a stroll. It was the cats in harnesses that weren’t as regular a sight. Zelda (the smaller cat, tortoiseshell with large yellow-green eyes) hanging out on Ezra’s shoulders and Ashes (the larger cat, very fluffy gray with amber eyes) was tugging at the lead wanting to escape and explore things.

"My landlord found them in his van when it was colder and wanted me to foster them for a few weeks. I got attached.”

6, Did they have a favourite toy? Why? What was it? Do they still have it?

Duvessa: “I had one of the American Girl dolls - Josephina.  My abuela used to sew clothes for her based on Oaxacan fashions.  My favorites were the full skirts worn for traditional dances.  They’d be so detailed; you could tell she��d spent forever on them.  ...I do still have her, and all those dresses.”

Sera: “I had a puzzle box that I’d play with for hours.  It seemed like it had infinite combinations, the pieces moving around and through each other depending on how I touched it or pushed at it.  I was so fascinated by it that my mother could ensure I’d stay quiet and in one place just by planting me somewhere and handing it to me.  It’s still around here, somewhere.  I always hoped my children would enjoy it as much as I did.”

7. What was their favourite fairytale?

Duvessa: “Cinderella.  I wanted a fairy godmother and a beautiful dress for the ball and a handsome prince to fall in love with me.”

Sera: “Any of the stories where the girls were cleverer than everyone around them.  I particularly love the one about the girl who wove nets so clever she could capture the winds and sail her boat wherever she wanted, meeting strange creatures and befriending them all.”

I would’ve thought they’d have had you busy with all the commotion going on lately, including my ‘early retirement,’ though I prefer to call it being demoted to part-time.” The ripples left by the aftermath of the ‘Time Heist’ and the battle that followed in its wake were still being felt even some time after the fact, and the passing of the vibranium shield to Sam Wilson was one of those ripples. “Or is this because of the ‘part-time,’ thing, and SHIELD isn’t happy about me still doing what I do from time-to-time?”
