RE x VtM Crossover Fic Update & Poll!

Here's a quick update on the next fic I'm working on, which is proving to be a larger project than expected and therefore, taking some time to finalize!

I'll be placing our favorite Resident Evil characters in a Vampire: The Masquerade (VtM) AU crossover.

Imagine:

Leon as a Toreador, sired by none other than Ada, a Toreador Harpy (aka "voice of society") who enjoys political intrigue and acquiring favors. Although Leon holds a grudge against her for a past deception, he does her bidding by finding humans whose blood have the most exquisite taste.

Wesker as the Ventrue Prince.

Chris and Claire as Brujah Anarchs, passionate about their cause and who have struck up an uneasy friendship with Leon, due to his position in the Camarilla.

Hunnigan as a Nosferatu intel expert.

Sherry as the Prince's most prized blood doll.

Maybe the Baker family make an appearance as Malkavians? Wouldn't that just be grand?

... and other appearances to be determined.

Where does Reader fit in all of this? A draft summary:

In the all-night events cafe you run, there's a mysterious, peculiar man who frequents it that catches your eye. Both of you grow on each other, but you can never remember the last moments of your interactions together. When a disastrous ordeal occurs, you are thrust into a world of darkness, where nothing is as it seems. At the same time, the man you've come to know as Leon, and developed a love-hate relationship with, is called upon to investigate into the reasons behind the untimely attacks.

CHAPTER 5 LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOO

(me because we would have been BEHEADED if this shit had happened two days earlier)

i really appreciate the exposition because i personally know nothing about VTM or how any of the vamp stuff works in it, and it makes sense because we’re just a baby!!! how would we know all these intricacies when we’d barely just found out about vampires :0

and god i love how angry we are. like as much as i pretend otherwise, if i got turned into a vampire against my will i would be PISSED. like yes babe you have every right to be so mad bitch at that boy some more he needs to hear it and we need to let it out!!!

the end though … miss ada … i fear what’s in store will not go particularly well for any party involved in that conversation but i am SO excited to see how it goes down especially since it’s established we’re quite a spitfire!!!

The chain smoking!! 🚬 I get'chu though, it really was "lucky" that the attack happened after Leon got his permission. Or was it planned all along? Hmm... 🤔

I'm honestly relieved that the exposition worked out well, because managing the info dump like that within a storytelling setting is a bit difficult to get the balance right. So, there will definitely be more explanations along the way as we get introduced to further concepts. At the moment, it's also flying over Reader's head 😅

It's a toughie! Reader is kinda stuck in this position they didn't ask for and now has to learn to survive it somehow. Leon tries to be caring but he was a major part of the problem in the first place, yikes! Though he's really having a bad day, isn't he? First with Wesker and then with Ada, omgggg they don't stop coming! 😵

First of all, I LOOOOVVVEEE these pics you keep adding to the messages, they're adorable and crack me up so much! That's also the same harrowing experience Reader went through (albeit depicted here in a more comical version), so very apt 👍

I'm glad this chapter was exciting for you, as it was definitely one of the climaxes of the story. Poor Reader will have to figure out how to deal with her new unlife now and unfortunately with the man who caused it all. This was definitely not how Leon imagined this would work out and now he'll have to bear with the consequences 🥲

🦴 ⇢ is there a piece of media that inspires your writing? 

Yes! Actually, mostly songs, but a couple of times books and series as well. I'll name them here:

Ghosts from the Past from the Where We Left Our Love series was inspired by the Suspiria film remake. I had thought up both parts from the start and always wanted to have it eventually set in Berlin, with an antagonist like Madame Blanc.

Heavenly Creatures was inspired by Wolf Alice's song of the same name and both the book and series Normal People by Sally Rooney. I just loved the idea of a secret relationship between two people who seemed to be so different, yet understood each other like no one else could.

Us was inspired by Ethel Cain's Michelle Pfeiffer and the book and series One Day by David Nicholls. I literally had the song on repeat for days and for once, felt compelled to write a fluffy romance between two friends who had the potential to be so much more.

🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character

It's a cop out, but honestly I can't think of an unpopular opinion I have about an RE character. Guess that makes me a populist? Anyway, imo the only interesting thing that Chris has ever done in the RE series was to lead the Hound Wolf Squad and go rogue against BSAA. I would also like to see Ada on her own and not as a crutch romantic interest for someone else's *cough* personal development. Don't know if those are unpopular enough though! 😁

🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings

I've not been super into ships for RE, also considering how Capcom decided to write off any sort of viable romance between the characters. However, I did like Cleon when I was young and my hc would be that they created a found family together with Sherry and are living happily ever after (as much as they can possibly with the circumstances) rent-free in my head 🫶

Gonna bring out the clichés, but life is too short, so instead of worrying constantly about what others think, try to do what makes you happy! The worst thing for me would be to lie on my death bed filled with regrets. Also, I tend to go for experiences over material goods, as I find it more fulfilling that way 😊

Hi anon! 🙂 I haven't read any of those fics you mentioned, but my current series is an RE crossover with Vampire: The Masquerade, which I am a huge fan of. I would totally recommend checking out the VtM franchise if you like a more gritty and realistic world of vampires and personal horror.
