RockClan's origin (part 5)
Moon 51:
Lionpaw is named Lionspots, in honour of his bond with his mentor, Strikespots.
Lionspots is being lectured 'yet again' by Silversmoke.
Strikespots is busy chastising Clanmates...no one is quite sure what for.
Cloverfreckle wants to get to know Strikespots better.
A young loner has heard about the Clan and wished to join. Harlequin has joined the Clan
A patrol is about to cross a river when Cottondart feels a chill run down their spine and whispers fill their mind. They yell out for the patrol to stop just in time to avoid a branch falling into the water. Startled, Cottondart whispers thanks to StarClan.
Moon 52:
Brindlesnap is partially buried by a sudden rockfall. Doodle stays by them, purring resurrence while the rest of the patrol digs them out.
Moon 53:
Patchpelt was found dead near the border.
Duskheather fixes up Patchpelt's nest, snapping at anyone who tries to speak to her.
Kisha wails, breaking down uncontrollable, hardly able to speak at Patchpelt's vigil.
Bearstar feels their leadership to be a burden.
Moon 53:
Bearstar was bitten by a venomous spider, and lost a life.
Duskheather sharpens their claws.
Strikespots wants to spend time alone.
Cottondart is determined to protect their loved ones, now moreso than ever.
Goldfox leads a patrol with Cavernblossom, Brindlesnap, and Harlequin, when they find a group of kits. They aren't abandoned, and they decide to lead the kits back to their parents. Strikespots later seems angry, stating that they may have been the ones who killed Patchpelt. Goldfox questions if she would rather have them kill the kits, and Strikespots doesn't respond.
Moon 54:
Duskheather has a nightmare involving their dead loved ones.
Brindlesnap's back was broken by another rockfall.
Moon 55:
A patrol finds an injured loner, and drags them back to camp to be healed. Long has joined the Clan.
Cavernblossom fell from a cliff, breaking their leg.
Doodle retires.
Silversmoke thinks about StarClan.
Duskheather hopes for a message from StarClan.
Cloverfreckle is captured by Twolegs.
Moon 56:
A sick loner gives their kit, Stream, to the Clan, unable to take care of them and not wanting to spread their sickness.
Lionspots wants to compliment Strikespots' techniques.
Moon 57:
Harlequin confessed their feelings to Void, but got rejected.
Moon 58:
Void thinks that Cavernblossom's injury is beginning to look concerning.
Goldfox smirks as they insult a Clanmate.
Long wants to compliment Goldfox.
Moon 59:
Bearstar and Goldfox have become mates (damn, I thought it was gonna be GoldXClover).
Goldfox doesn't apologize about something, even though everyone knows that they are in the wrong.
Long has been looking at a certain cat in camp with an odd look in their eyes.
Lionspots is bored and looking for trouble to get into.
Moon 60:
The broken bones have healed.
Tigercave slips on a rock and twists their paw.
Strikespots gives advice to Cottondart, who proclaims their loyalty to the leader.
Moon 62:
Streampaw is apprenticed to Brindlesnap.
Cottondart is suspicious of Clanmates who question the leader.
Lionspots is considering bending the rules...again.
Moon 71:
Strikespots watches the camp scornfully.
Moon 72:
Bearstar is expecting kits!
Cloverfreckle succumbs to an infection.
Kisha nuzzles Cloverfreckle's body and refuses to eat.
At the vigil, Cavernblossom's voice cracks with grief. Later in the night, they vail to the vast sky, claws gouging the earth as they glared up at StarClan.
Strikespots wonders how life can continue on without Cloverfreckle. When no one needs something from them, they break down, wailing uncontrollably.
Tigercave refuses to eat.
Duskheather prays that Cloverfreckle is safe in StarClan.
Streampaw is named Streampatch.
Moon 73:
Silversmoke is hoping for a break.
Kisha thinks about StarClan.
Cavernblossom eavesdrops on Strikespots, who watches numbly as fish swim by in the stream.
Cottondart watches over the warriors at night.
Moon 74:
Bearstar and Goldfox welcome Sproutkit and Robinkit into the Clan.
Lionspots put a dead snake by the den entrance to scare Clanmates.

oc clans: unique roles (part 1)
because i’ve been doing oc stuff, like, all day and i wanna talk about them. this def isn’t all the roles!!
forest keeper - burnclan cats tasked with caring for burnclan’s forest. they bring flowers & other decorations back to camp, tend to the plants, and sometimes help healers gather herbs. they are also trained in spotting signs of burning, and what to do during forest fires. they are especially active during the warmer seasons, due to burnclan’s dry lands and flammable environment.
timekeeper (wip name) - rockclan traditional, religious and superstitious rockclan see remembering history as one of the most important things in securing their culture. timekeepers as tasked with remembering dates and telling stories, especially of ancient heroes who saved/helped rockclan in some way. rockclan believe that keeping their history alive is an important part of stabilizing the clan, and will also prevent starclan’s wrath or other curses from hurting them.
augur / medic - mistclan the role of “medicine cat” has been renamed to healer in this anyway, but in mistclan, they have two separate roles for that.
the augur can be seen as a spiritual guide, and must be open to any and all beliefs. they assist cats with their own beliefs, organize symbolic/special celebrations, and predict things like weather patterns. the current augur is jaywatcher, who’s been around as long as most cats can remember.
the medic is a healer. they’re very knowledgeable about herbs and strategies to soothe others (mentally or physically). they must also be prepared to heal even in the heat of battle or in other tense situations. the current medic is haze, who was born a loner but joined when they were about apprentice-aged.
the augur and the medic work together to lead the clan, but select a warrior to essentially represent them. this warrior, called the head of clan, is treated like any other leader. they are one who talks at gathering/meetings, announces changes, and makes final decisions (etc), but ultimately they are working on behalf of the augur and the medic. the current head of clan is smokepool, who willingly never received nine lives as she doesn’t believe in starclan.
( i have A Lot to say about mistclan & their system (along with the other clans) so lmk if you. want that lol )
inheritor / strategist (both kinda wip names) - gorseclan in gorseclan, canon’s role of deputy has been split between two ranks.
inheritors are more similar to an “apprentice leader,” assisting the leader with tasks, stepping in as acting leader when necessary, and making reports to the leader. after the leader’s death, they are set to become leader themselves.
strategists are planners (obviously): they organize patrols, decide on mentors, and are a key part in forming battle plans. they are expected to get on well with the inheritor and the leader, because they play very a important part in keeping the clan running.
after the death of the leader, the strategist is allowed to challenge the inheritor if they believe they are unfit to rule. this is what usually happens, due to gorseclan’s competitive nature. it’s basically tradition at this point. after a challenge, the strategist and inheritor will campaign against each other for about a month, ending with the rest of gorseclan electing a leader.
( the concept of elections and campaigning was inspired by @/feralcatpolitics!! idea of a split deputy role was my own tho :] )

Here are the leaders at the time of Eagleflight’s story: (left to right) Stormstar, Falconstar, and Maplestar! Below is a little summary/backstory for each of them, though admittedly Falconstar is the most developed.
Stormstar (formerly Stormbreeze) of RockClan: Stormstar is in the middle when it comes to age compared to the other leaders. She tries to avoid battle and conflict as much as possible due to the previous leader constantly wanting to prove the clan through battle. RockClan and BirchClan have a long history of rivalry, and Stormstar wants to try to end it as much as possible.
Falconstar (formerly Miko/Falcon) of RidgeClan: The youngest of the leaders, Falconstar was originally a rogue named Miko. At the time, RidgeClan was being run by an unstable leader who had lost his faith in StarClan. Wanting to punish his ancestors, the current leader kept his cats from leaving camp and performing their duties. Some of the clan cats snuck out anyways and turned to outsiders for help in desperation. Miko changed her name to Falcon after catching, well, a falcon to prove herself to the clan cats. Falcon agreed to stage an attack with the help of her old rogue buddies to kill the abusive leader. However, he was already dead from starvation/sickness. Since the deputy had also already died, Falcon became the new leader. RidgeClan usually doesn’t have to worry about the other clans since they live in the mountains, so they’re pretty laid back. Falconstar is usually pretty cheery and positive, making her well liked among her clanmates.
Maplestar (formerly Maplestrike) of BirchClan: Maplestar is the oldest and most asshole-ish of the three. He’s always looking for an excuse to fight, making a lot wonder why he’s leader to begin with. Despite this, he does have morals and cares greatly for his deputy, queens, and medicine cats. Maplestar just wants to keep his clan strong and intimidating.

Moon 27:
Strikespots is given their warrior name. Was it too early?
Strikespots wanders directly into a rock on their bad side. Duskheather takes them aside to gently explain that their bad vision is progressing. Strikespots is upset, and they become even more upset as they wonder if that's why they are given their name before their siblings. Was it so that they can be named while they still have a chance?
Strikespots and Bearstar get into an argument. Following it, Bearstar names Caverpaw Cavernblossom, and Cloverpaw Cloverfreckle.
Goldfox is worried about Patchkit. Patchkit is begging for life-saving herbs for their minor scrape.
Rootkit is checking on Bearstar.
Strikespots watches as Tigerkit pretends to hunt a mouse.
Moon 28:
Brindlekit has gotten heatstroke, and Rootkit has a splitting headache so strong, they cannot get out of their nest.
Strikespots is lashing their tail furiously. Was their own suffering not enough? Did StarClan have to hurt her younger siblings as well?
Silversmoke visits the kits in the medicine den. He distracts them by having Brindlekit talk about snails.
Patchkit wakes early to say hello to the dawn patrol.
In spite of their pain, Rockkit looks forward to their apprentice ceremony. Surely the pain is temporary?
Moon 29:
Everyone recovered!
Brindlekit corrects Silversmoke on something trivial. Silversmoke isn't annoyed, just glad to see how energetic Brindlekit now was.
Goldfox and Strikespots go on a hunt together. Goldfox admits that they think they had a vision and begins to describe it, but when they notice Strikespots's envious look, they say that it's probably nothing and drops it.
Duskheather and Bearstar gather herbs together, but Bearstar asks too many questions and questions Duskheather too much. Duskheather snaps at them, accusing them of being full of themself because of their high position. Bearstar argues, pointing out that they only have the position because of Duskheather. Duskheather argues further that it was StarClan, not them. It was the truth and wasn't meant to be hurtful, but Bearstar can't help but feel that Duskheather never would have chosen her if it weren't for her vision.
Strikespots was dragged and dropped by an eagle, and managed to survive.
Goldfox wonders how Cloverfreckle is doing. Cloverfreckle, meanwhile, wants to get to know Goldfox better.
With their bone broken, Strikespots surveys the Clan scornfully.
Cavernblossom dramatically dies after Patchkit pretends to slay them.
Moon 30:
Goldfox has gotten whitecough.
Brindlekit becomes Brindlepaw, and Cloverfreckle is named as their mentor.
Patchkit becomes Patchpaw, and Silversmoke is their mentor.
Rootkit becomes Rootpaw and Bearstar is named as their mentor. Though their glad to be an apprentice, they can't help but glare at the sky, wondering why her birth parents couldn't be here as well.
Tigerpaw was about to be named as Kisha's apprentice, when Duskheather steps forward, explaining that she needs someone to follow in her steps. Bearstar is disagrees until later when Duskheather explains her worry because of the sickness that killed their old home. She's unhappy, but knows she's right and names Tigerpaw as Duskheather's apprentice.
The conversation also allows Bearstar and Duskheather to have a heart-to-heart.
Strikespots begrudgingly allows kits to play with their tail.
Brindlepaw wants to learn as many fighting techniques as they can!
Rootpaw is eavesdropping on Brindlepaw.
Moon 31:
While on patrol, Rootpaw and Bearstar meet a kittypet. They are welcoming, but the description of Clan life frightens the kittypet, who decides not to join.
Moon 33:
Goldfox's whitecough is gone....but Rootpaw now has whitecough.
Tigerpaw wonders if they are good enough to be a medicine cat apprentice.
Brindlepaw plays a prank on Tigerpaw. That lifts Tigerpaw's mood for a little bit, but then they watch their siblings play together by the apprentice's den...was she always going to feel this isolated?
Patchpaw wants to get to know Tigerpaw better.
Rootpaw worries that others are judging them.
Moon 34:
Duskheather has gotten greencough.
Bearstar gives advice to Strikespots, meanwhile Strikespots thinks that Bearstar could be leading the Clan better.
Silversmoke feels overworked.
Tigerpaw dreams of taking care of a patient. Everything is fine and calm, until Tigerpaw finds that Duskheather is nowhere to be found. There's suddenly too many patients, all needs Tigerpaw's help. Tigerpaw is overwhelmed, cannot get the right herbs, cannot help them all--they wake up sweating, and decide not to worry Duskheather with their nightmare. Duskheather was going to be fine.
Goldfox wonders how Cloverfreckle is doing.
Cavernblossom gives advice to Patchpaw.
Cloverfreckle wants to get to know Silversmoke better.
Brindlepaw fell into a creek. She is lectured, but Bearstar and Silversmoke can't help but feel amused at the familiar incident.
Rootpaw wants to become a fierce warrior one day.
Moon 35:
Goldfox and Cloverfreckle are on patrol when they find a starving loner. The loner begs for a place to stay, offering their herb knowledge in exchange for it.
Void joined the Clan!
Moon 36:
Kisha and Duskheather found a litter next to a dead mother, dead by sickness. They take the kits in and become parents to Bluebellkit, Lionkit, and Cottonkit.
Kisha is seen touching noses with a loner.
Brindlepaw talks to Tigerpaw about what it's like to be a medicine cat apprentice.
Moon 37:
Everyone is healed!
Bearstar gives in to his kit-like indulgence, and plays a prank on her brother.
Tigerpaw stresses about keeping the Clan safe and healthy.
Brindlepaw wants to be named before Patchpaw. Patchpaw dreams of making their Clan proud.
Rootpaw practises battle moves.
Lionkit wants to be big someday!
Cottonkit is pretending to be Clan leader.
Moon 38:
Rootpaw is named Rootskitter. Brindlepaw is named Brindlesnap. Patchpaw is named Patchpelt.
The kits are amazed of the new warrior, and now Rootskitter has a gaggle of kits following them.
Silversmoke plays mossball with Cottonkit.
Void is worried about Cottonkit.
Strikespots feels underappreciated.
Lionkit hopes to make a friend.
Strikespots is patrolling alone when they run into a small group of loners by the border. The group is not hostile and no one speaks, but Strikespots glares at them anyway, watching their every move until they leave, leaving the air thick with tension.
Moon 39:
Goldfox and Cloverfreckle sneak out of camp to watch the sun rise.
Bluebellkit goes missing. Everyone sets out to search for her, and Void is the one to find her scent. She finds her at the bottom of the mountain's edge, when the ground shakes. She tries to save the kit, but barely manages to make it out unscathed. Void's tell is left mangled, and Bluebellkit is dead.
Hearing of the death, Duskheather breaks down, wailing uncontrollably and cursing the world for taking Bluebellkit instead of her.
Kisha's voice breaks as she talks about Bluebellkit at the vigil.
Cavernblossom wonders how Kisha is doing.
Cottonkit talks at Bluebellkit's vigil, though she doesn't fully understand the importance of her words.

RockClan Origin (part 2)
Previous: https://www.tumblr.com/residents-of-the-darkforest/735458443061854208/rockclans-origin?source=share
Moon 13:
Duskheather is proud of her family.
While searching for herbs, Duskheather hears strange noises that die and start up again. Investigating, she comes nose-to-nose with a bleeding queen desperately trying to keep her kits quiet. She hisses at Duskheather until Duskheather manages to convince her to find protection in their Clan.
Kisha joined the Clan with her kits: Cavern, Strike, and Clover. She accepts the ways of the Clan and allows 'kit' to be added to their names.
Moon 14:
Strikekit has become good at not letting things on their bad side startle them...soon they find out that that is not a universal thing for kits to have.
Strikekit has gotten heat exhaustion, leading Bearstar to order (and help with) the construction of a proper nursery. This leads them to construct a Warriors den as well, and an apprentice's den. Duskheather will miss them all sleeping in the same place, but their proud of the progress.
Goldkit tells Strikekit that nobody likes them (bro??)
Bearstar catches Strikekit climbing too high. While they're scolded, she can't help but admire the kit's bravery.
Cloverkit is scarred after having a nightmare due to the scary story Goldkit told.
Moon 15:
Bearstar is trusting Silversmoke with something important.
Goldpaw is apprenticed to Silversmoke.
Bearstar has gotten a stomachache.
Goldpaw is having a hard time keeping up with their training. (Note: their personality was bully. It is now lonesome).
Cavernkit plays mossball by themself.
Moon 16:
Everyone is healed!
Silversmoke wonders how Kisha is doing.
Goldpaw daydreams of making their Clan proud.
Cavernkit is reciting facts about different types of beetles in the middle of camp.
Cloverkit wants to be everyone's friend.
Kisha and Duskheather gather herbs together. Kisha asks her about the nature of StarClan.
Moon 17:
Duskheather and Kisha became mates!
Goldpaw feels like their not performing up to Silversmoke's expectations lately.
Strikekit refuses to eat herbs.
Moon 19:
Strikekit is named Strikepaw, and is apprenticed to Bearstar. He's excited, though it took coaxing from Kisha to get him to touch noses with his new mentor.
Cavernkit is named Cavernpaw and is apprenticed to Kisha. Cloverkit is named Cloverpaw and is also apprenticed to Kisha. They're a bit too excited and bump their nose a little too hard into Kisha. They both laugh about it.
Strikepaw woke up with a mild headache, but decides to ignore it.
Cavernpaw wishes to be made a warrior early. Duskheather gives some advice to Cavernpaw, most likely about how life is short and to enjoy every day as it comes.
Goldpaw lets Cloverkit see the apprentice's den.
Strikepaw makes Bearstar laugh.
Cloverpaw annoyed Kisha on accident.
Moon 20:
Goldpaw feels a sense of dread.
Tangent: Goldpaw became a bully due to their backstory of being abandoned. They loved their new family, but the fear of being left alone again was too strong, so they decided to push everyone away first. You can't hurt someone that doesn't care. But as the moons went on and they realized their new home was a permanent one, they realized they had pushed so many away. They didn't hate them, but Goldpaw was never someone's first choice to share food with, leaving them lonely.
Strikepaw and Cloverpaw learn how to hunt together.
Moon 21:
Duskheather gives advice to Cavernpaw.
Goldpaw feels worn-out from training.
Cavernpaw is playing a prank on Cloverpaw.
Cloverpaw sneaks up on Strikepaw's bad side, startling them.
Kisha and Duskheather search for herbs together. When Kisha is unusually quiet, Duskheather asks them what's wrong, but Kisha doesn't answer, leaving them to collect herbs on their own (possible link to Kisha's origin?).
Moon 22:
Strikepaw and Cloverpaw dream of making their Clan proud.
Moon 23:
A loner named Light joins the Clan. Everyone accepts them but Kisha, who seems suspicious.
Strikepaw has gotten greencough.
Bearstar had a nightmare involving a Twoleg trap.
Strikepaw and Goldpaw play a prank on Silversmoke together.
Moon 24:
Silversmoke's tail was badly injured by a fox when Light cowardly left them to fend for themself. He was only able to survive because Goldpaw, who had been hunting close by, came to his rescue.
Angry, Bearstar exiles the loner.
Goldpaw is named Goldfox, in honour of their bravery.
Kisha is in the medicine den. She admits to Duskheather that she knew Light, as they had been kittypets together. Light was a bully, pushing her weight around. When Kisha's mate turned out to be abusive, she kept her kits away from him...but Light decide to tell him about their existence anyways, which lead to Kisha's injury and running away from her home.
Goldfox wonders how Cavernpaw is doing.
With the fox incident, Kisha worries about Strikepaw. She talks to Bearstar, who gives her apprentice particularly rough training sessions.
Moon 25:
Duskheather and Kisha found a litter of abandoned kits. They had the scent of Light...was she a deadbeat mother as well as a coward? She was nowhere to be found. Kisha and Duskheather take them in, and the Clan welcomes Brindlekit, Tigerkit, Rootkit, and Patchkit.

RockClan's Origin (part 1)
(If you're like me, colour helps you focus on a bunch of text, so here)
Silverkit: blue
Bearkit: yellow
Duskheather: green
Duskheather and Bearkit: orange
Duskheather and Silverkit: red
Silverkit and Bearkit: pink
All three: purple
Other: white
Moon 1:
Silverkit talks to Duskheather about being a medicine cat.
Bearkit is in shock.
Moon 2:
Duskheather gives advice to Bearkit.
Bearkit is no longer in shock.
Silverkit knows that Bearkit will make a great Clanmate someday (possibly tells her this).
Moon 3:
Duskheather wishes Silverkit or Bearkit will want to learn herbs so that she can pass on her knowledge, but doesn't want to force their paths.
Silverkit talks with Duskheather about something.
Bearkit asks Duskheather why all the herbs have to be stinky and gross.
Duskheather is delighted at all the herbs they are surrounded by.
Moon 4:
Bearpaw names herself. Even though she doesn't have a mentor to train her, she's confident that she can do it herself!
....Then Bearpaw fell of some rocks while practising battle moves, and is tender for the next few days.
Bearpaw won't stop asking "why?"--probably asking Duskheather over and over why she can't leave the medicine den yet.
Silverpaw is finding Bearpaw annoying.
Moon 5:
Silverpaw and Bearpaw sneak away while Duskheather is sorting herbs. They found a set of tunnels and explore it, almost getting trapped as it began to collapse. Duskheather came to the rescue in the nick of time.
Duskheather gathers as much herbs as the three can carry, and they continue on. Though the territory is rich with prey and herbs, it's still too close for comfort to the sickness, and with the tunnel incident, she doesn't want to hang around here any longer.
Moon 6:
Bearpaw plays a prank on Duskheather in the hopes of lighting her mood.
Silverpaw saw Bearpaw sneak a bite of fresh-kill.
Moon 7:
Silverpaw daydreams about having a mate and kits someday.
Bearpaw wonders if StarClan--more specifically, their mother--has spoken to Duskheather recently. She decides not to pry.
Bearpaw asks Duskheather if they can gather herbs together. She uses the opportunity to tell her aunt about a dream she had, believing it to be a vision from her mother. Duskheather sadly tells her that it was just a dream, but that doesn't mean Rocksmoke isn't watching over them.
Moon 8:
Silverpaw and Bearpaw tried to hunt fish in a nearby creek. Silverpaw fell in, while Bearpaw was swept away a few tail-lengths before clawing onto the bank. They decide not to tell Duskheather about their close call.
Moon 9:
Bearpaw has caught yellowcough.
With the sickness and other close calls, Duskheather decides that she needs to push Silverpaw and Bearpaw harder. It ends with her going too hard on Silverpaw, who is bruised after a particularly rough training session. Duskheather apologizes and promises to be more careful, but Silverpaw blames himself. If he gets hurt in a training session, how can he protect himself when the real deal happens?
Moon 10:
Bearpaw recovered from yellowcough!
Silverpaw is proud of Bearpaw's progress. With them both healthy, they train together, pushing harder than they did before.
The littermates patrol together when they find a single abandoned kitten. After failing to find the mother, they rush the kitten back to the camp where Duskheather can watch over it. They name him Goldkit.
Moon 11:
Bearpaw has a sprain.
Moon 12:
Bearpaw and Silverpaw decide to give each other their warrior names. Bearpaw is named Bearleaf, after the shape of her stripes, while Silverpaw is named Silversmoke, after his strong resemblance to their mother.
The dream is unmistakeable. The leaves, so high in number that was impossible to see the sky, keeping the cats sheltered from any and all dangers. Duskheather couldn't be their healer and leader for much longer, not if their family was to grow. Someone had to be leader, and it seemed StarClan made its choice.
Bearleaf is named leader of their group.
Their mother's group did not have a leader with nine lives, but if they had...could the group have survived? Bearleaf doesn't want to risk it. In the night, she travels far from the group. She doesn't know where he's going, but she follows whatever it is that leads him forward--her gut? Her instinct?...Her mother? When her paws are so tired they're about to fall off, he sees the glowing light coming from a cave above.
It's a struggle to climb up, but the sight is worth it--a cavern filled with glowing blue rocks. It awed her, and the water puddled here and there in deep crevices called to her. She drank from it, was lulled to sleep--and met the nine cats that would grant her her nine lives.
She returned to camp the next day with the great news, and the family moved closer to the special place--Cavern of Stars?--they were still working on the name, settling at the bottom of the mountain, where there was still plenty of plants to shelter in.
And of course, Silversmoke would be her deputy.

Whistleberry thinks they're going crazy.

Granitepaw wishes to become a medicine cat, and is appointed to Void.
Moon 140:
Goldfox is caught by rogues and is killed. They are mourned for.
Whistleberry is expecting kits.
Moon 141:
Brindlesnap and Basilheart take Scorchpaw out on a patrol. Out there, they meet a fox. Knowing he's the fastest of them, he decides to run from the territory and have the fox chase him, keeping the others safe. He's not quite fast enough, and he is killed.
The Clan grieves for Scorchpaw, and Bearstar refuses any comfort.
Streampatch is announcing kits.
Whistleberry and Breezefade welcome Sweetkit.
Moon 142:
Sweetkit is scolded after trying to sneak from the camp.
Moon 144:
Streampatch and Basilfade welcome five kits: Sandkit, Oatkit, Shortkit, Smokeykit, Lichenkit.

Bearstar dies from heatstroke, then loses the rest of their life to age. They are grieved for.
Fidgetstar becomes the new leader, with Basilheart as his deputy.

Note
there sute are a lot of rouges in rockclan's history. do they become hollowclan or lakeclan?
RockClan is the most ancient of the three Clans, and they've been there for some time before another Clan was formed.
So while the rogues mentioned in the early moons of RockClan's history are not gonna become Clan cats, they are likely the ancestors to some of the future HollowClan and/or LakeClan cats.
Fleetstripe disagreed with how her Clan was becoming harsher to the loners when food became more scarce instead of working with them. When one scuffle ends with the death of an apprentice and similarly-aged loner, she has enough and publicaly leaves. Her two sisters join her along with their close friend.
HollowClan's history is coming up next!

(weeps tears of joy bc ive been waiting to ramble abt these guys for a long time) th. thank you
okay time for a history lesson >:)
- speckledust has been working to destroy the clans for a very long time. she worked with her mate privetheart, along with a cat called goldenhawk. also some cats from other clans. they created so much omg
- theres the rockclan civil war which has since divided the clan... lightningstar’s leadership is the result of the battle, and he is very different from rockclan’s traditional ways
- the moorclan/burnclan war has been going on for YEARS but it was worsened by speckledust’s meddling. it ended up with the moorclan deputy dying and official war being announced by wildstar. current leaders sweetstar and dovestar are still fighting to this day
- speckledust murdered a bunch of cats and framed it on others just to start chaos. shes so evil n i love her tbh
- the burnclan leadership system is a.. i forgot the word. but basically one family leads. dawnstar’s dad was leader, and then he was murdered by his son duskhawk. duskhawk/star is the true originator of chaos, hes the one speckledust WANTS to be
- duskstar was eventually killed by his sister, dawnstreak at DUSK... wow... symbolism... then dawnstar officially became leader at dawn. very cool. dawnstar chose her mate as deputy
- this is going somewhere i promise lol. when hickorystride (dawn’s mate) died, dawnstar chose dovefeather, her former apprentice, as deputy. this is A Choice  because: > dovefeather wasnt family. dawnstar had two children, lionsplash and goldenhawk. she was terrified to choose them as dep because goldenhawk had proven to be very ambitious and cruel. lionsplash was very close to goldenhawk. dawnstar feared that they would be like her brother > dovefeather was the one who (accidentally) murdered the moorclan deputy. yes, that moorclan deputy. the moorclan deputy’s death that offically started the whole burnclan/moorclan war. the war that is ongoing
> goldenhawk was PISSED she didnt become dep so the whole mess continued. dawnstar’s rlly trying her best tho... i lov her
> this drama kinda ends with a final battle .... lionsplash proves to be good... goldenhawk attacks him... dawnstar protects him, killing goldenhawk but dying in the process.... privetheart dies not longer after this battle and speckledust is left bitter and alone, resenting spottedwing! which caused the whole shadowpath drama! wow everythings connected
> and there u go thats a summary of some burnclan history. this actually a part of the story i rlly like lol

!!!! oml that snippet abt your ocs? i loved it. ksjdfkdsjf,,, if your willing, can you tell me more? ramble about them, im curious!!
oh my gosh hi thank you sm . i’ve had these ocs since i was like 11 or something?? i started a story called “shadowpath’s insanity” (renamed later to shadowpath’s fate bc the use of ‘insanity’ was bad/wrong!). i started writing a fanfic and worked on it for a looong time before deciding i really didn’t like the story, so i thought i’d started from scratch ! then i was like “actually i dont have the motivation to write and plan a whole book so i’ll just! talk about them on a sideblog!” @wc-shattered-peace is that sideblog, but its been inactive for months because i once again lost motivation to work on the story. about a week ago i started thinking about the ocs a bit again.
cw: parental abuse (poorly done... it needs so much work)
anyways yes OC TIME !!! shadowpath is..... questionable. if i ever wanna remake the story he needs some WORK. he was born with a physical disfiguration on his face. he was rejected by his mother bc of it but then i was like “no thats gross” SO i changed it....
his birth mom is called spottedwing, and She was close w somebody called speckledust (who knew the rest of spottedwings family). theres a whole backstory but essentially speckledust is an awful awful person who resented spottedwing because of some stuff with spottedwings dad. anywayz spottedwing grew up believing if she was “perfect” she’d be able to gain her loved ones’ approval but it never happened.
there is SO MUCH more history omg but basically in spottedwings adulthood, she witnesses speckledust literally murder someone and confronts her. they yell at each other and then speckledust attacks her, but spottedwing defeats and kills her. it leaves her pretty scarred. SO when she eventually has children of her own, she senses a “dark presence” around shadowkit. believing this to be speckle coming back to haunt her, she rejects him. its uhh very messy and 1000% needs work if i ever wanna go back to it but thats the basic story.
shadowkit is raised by patchflower who is a perfect angel. she is literally the best cat ever to exist, i love her so much. shes so loving and supportive and just wants the best for shadow.
more character stuff because this is getting messy:
- rosepaw, who is shadowpaths biological sister. she was told by spottedwing to never talk to shadowpaw but she was like “hm. no. i think hes okay.” she ends up dying for him after he impulsively goes out to attack a badger, by himself, to prove to the clan/spotted hes not weak. (thinking of changing this tho bc rosepaw deserves better)
- i mentioned this in the beech/doe post but shadow has abandonment issues. he blames himself for A LOT of things. he literally does not know how to deal with his trauma so he lashes out constantly and is always angry. he is an asshole and not a good person, but his reasons arent bad. he does some bad bad things but he ultimately starts a recovery journey and becomes a better person.
- speckledust makes a comeback and trains shadow in the dark forest. if it sounds like mapleshade and crookedstar ur right lol i have to assume the og story is inspired by that. shes basically like “hey kill spottedwing lol” and he agrees. speckledust doesnt actually care abt him at all though, shes super abusive and is the main reason for shadows actions . it takes a long time for him to heal from it
- beechleaf (? i think thats his name i forget) is his childhood best friend. shadow was kinda always in love with him. i already talked abt them but eventually, beech leaves burnclan for rockclan, where his mate skyheart lives. shadow breaks after this and starts to push everyone away. it also enhances his abandonment issues. again, he blames himself for it but REFUSES to admit it so he just lashes out
- doesplash is also a childhood friend who had a crush on him early-on. the feelings never fade. her and shadow’s relationship isnt that healthy tbh hes pretty mean to her and shes a pushover. he does rlly care abt her and appreciate her but he doesnt show it and theres no excuse (even if theres explanation). she eventually stands up for himself and breaks off the friendship, which is when shadow realises that he has almost nobody in his life. other than speckledust... and >
- oakpaw! a few moons younger than shadow and quite a bit like beech. shadow projects a bunch of feelings (other than romantic bc he meets oak when oak is a kitten) onto him. another unhealthy relationship... oak is a cheerful sweetheart but pretty bland rn. he has two siblings
- honeyfrost and lionsplash who i can talk abt if ur still interested lol. lionsplash is his father-figure and mentor. honeyfrost is basically his counsellor.
- oh i forgot to mention him but nightbird is shadows biological dad. he literally never talks to shadow. his relationship with spottedwing is toxic and she pressures him into everything. thats no excuse of course, but it is an explanation. he eventually stands up for shadow and breaks away from spotted
- oh my god i forgot ANOTHER CHARACTER... bluepetal. shes an angel as well. shes the medicine cat. shes spottedwings childhood best friend who is in love with her. but she pulls away from the friendship after spottedwing rejected shadow. shes very very sad and hates that she still has feelings for spotted. she tries to support shadow but shadow is kinda mean to her. i love her a lot
again the story needs A LOT of work. im really unhappy with how little me handled the abuse in the story so ! i will be working on that if i ever return to it. i honestly have so much left to say abt the plot HAHA so lmk if you wanna know more
