Sentado à sombra no terraço, Yeonsik tinha os olhos fechados enquanto "Saturday Nights" tocava no volume máximo em seus airpads. Desde que se mudara para o complexo, era ali que passava a maior parte do tempo já que seu irmão ainda o odiava e ele não tinha qualquer espaço pessoal no apartamento que estava a ser dividido com uma amiga de Joonshi.

Era estranho ter tanto tempo livre agora e ele simplesmente não sabia o que fazer. O hiato parecia ter colocado não só sua carreira em pausa, mas também todo o resto. Um suspiro profundo fez o peito do rapaz subir e descer visivelmente, as pálbebras se separando, o permitindo encarar o céu limpo e azul. "I guess there's certain dreams that you gotta keep...", ele cantou junto, o peso das palavras fazendo-o remover toda a melodia da voz e murmurar contemplativamente: "'Cause they'll only know what you let 'em see..."

Com os braços cruzados e o pé batucando no chão, Sebastian revirou os olhos, provavelmente pela segunda ou terceira vez durante o discurso de David Charming. Não importava quantas vezes havia celebrado aquele ou outros eventos em Arthurian, nunca se acostumaria com os discursos intermináveis do príncipe. Sua expressão só mudou quando o nome de Eric e toda a sua sujeira política foi explanada. Deu uma breve risada ao ouvir o burburinho aumentar cada vez mais, imaginando o tamanho da hipocrisia acumulada entre todos aqueles a sua volta. Poucos minutos depois, um estrondo e o caos tomaram conta, roubando toda atenção daquele momento patético. 

Ansioso para fugir daquela situação, Bash começou a caminhar na direção do barulho como muitos outros, porém, no meio do caminho, percebeu alguns olhares fixados em si. Então, os sussurros já não pareciam mais tão baixos, conseguia ouvir as pessoas comentando apavoradas com certa clareza. Enquanto as milhões de possibilidades passavam em sua mente naqueles longos segundos, um nome chegou ao seu ouvido: Wendy. Era ela. Sua mãe estava de volta, mas toda a situação contribuía para o sentimento de que algo estivesse errado. Foi como se um peso enorme tivesse caído sobre os ombros do Darling naquele momento. Por mais que quisesse chegar o mais rápido possível, parecia que seu corpo estava o impedindo fisicamente de fazê-lo. Estava com medo do que poderia encontrar. 

Conseguiu assumir o controle das pernas trêmulas novamente e correu até a cena, faltava pouco para encontrar o que quer que estivesse esperando por ele. No entanto, rapidamente sentiu uma grande mão sobre o seu peito, tentando pará-lo. Logo em seguida mais uma em seus ombros. Sua reação automática foi empurrá-los e gritar para que o soltasse. Mas que porra estava acontecendo? Olhou ao redor, procurando por seus irmãos e avistou Zeno, igualmente confuso ao ser contido por outras pessoas. 

Foi depois de muito esforço que conseguiu empurrar o homem que fazia de tudo para mantê-lo no lugar. Não sabia de onde tinha tirado aquela energia, já que seu coração parecia estar prestes a saltar pela boca, mas foi capaz de sair daquele círculo de imobilização, caindo de joelhos praticamente em cima do palco do Tomato-A-Villain. Palco esse que agora, ao invés do suco da fruta, estava banhado em sague. O líquido vermelho estava em toda parte, inclusive em suas mãos, usadas para amortecer a queda. Olhou de um lado para o outro, sua visão ficando cada vez mais turva, porém foi capaz de enxergar ao fundo um grupo de Defensores carregando um corpo para dentro do castelo. Na correria, uma mecha ruiva se destacou e então ele finalmente percebeu. Sua mãe estava morta. 

Era como se pudesse sentir o coração despencar e estilhaçar no chão em mil pedacinhos, como uma frágil xícara de porcelana. Seus olhos tinham certeza do que tinham visto, mas o resto de seu corpo não queria acreditar. Arrastou-se, enquanto as lágrimas escorriam pelo seu rosto, agora sem preocupação alguma com quem poderia vê-las. Ao mesmo tempo que tentava se mexer, suas roupas se manchavam de vermelho escarlate. O sangue de sua mãe. Foi capaz de ficar de pé novamente e dessa vez não tinha certeza se alguém tinha tentado pará-lo, pois toda a realidade ao seu redor parecia um grande borrão. Correu com o resto de vigor que lhe restava até os portões, dando de cara com a barreira mágica que impedia que desse mais um passo em frente até Wendy. 

Sebastian caiu mais uma vez, já que as pernas não eram mais fortes o suficiente para sustentar o peso do próprio corpo. – Eu preciso ver a minha mãe! – Gritou em desespero, passando as mãos ensanguentadas pelo rosto até chegar aos fios de cabelo. Sangue misturado a lágrimas e suor, era quase como se sentisse seu corpo se derreter aos poucos. Os berros eram altos, todos podiam ouvir, mas o tom de sua voz era rouco, quase rasgando a garganta. Uma súplica de um garoto que tinha acabado de passar pela maior dor de sua vida. – Vocês não podem me impedir de vê-la! Abram essa merda agora. – Bradou novamente, enquanto tentava atirar socos contra a parede invisível que escondia agora mais uma tragédia na família Darling. – Mãe... me desculpa… – As últimas palavras saíram quase inaudíveis, conforme o mais novo órfão de Arthurian desabava de pura exaustão.

lee gain, 33, local from what was previously the northern village in the nari village (ok she was there for like. barely 24 hrs), now an accountant in dangam-eup spending her days in the smoking area (see: rooftop) of her workplace

bio/bg tl;dr: born the day before the singing stone appeared which killed her parents, grew up with her identical twin sister (gaeun) and grandmother, gain turned out as the more subdued twin vs gaeun the 'troublemaker’ and was even the vp of their student council during high school, during senior yr gaeun dies under uncertain circumstances which gain may or may have not been involved in

and since senior yr, gain’s been plagued with nightmares and visions of gaeun, accumulating to a lil identity crisis moment when she finds that she has a new mole on her face in the exact spot where gaeun's trademark one was :-) 

gave her the death reversed card so there’s gna be some personal change and transformation going on, but is it just metaphorical/emotional??? lol guess we’ll see!

so now she’s 33 and living in an apartment with zero mirrors which. well....... isn’t great but also explains why she looks like she wears the same outfit almost every other day. bc she does

works in an accounting firm so if u need help w business finances and ur taxes then theres that! but her customer service-sona is god awful (as in she doesnt have one) so tread carefully

personality-wise, she’s erm... not exactly the most approachable w those sketchy vibes and all.... if there’s a smoking area at some resto/cafe/bar then u’ll probably find her there / the gym she goes to at like 2am bc she’s deadset on not sleeping most of the time / aimlessly walking around the island

i’d imagine she was just classically?? introverted when she was younger but post-gaeun has both hardened n fractured her shell so now she’s more deadpan + distrusting + rude (some would say a little bit like how gaeun was..... hm......) 

re: the supernatural stuff, she isn’t a skeptic but it’s more of a case where she doesn’t want to believe bc then she has to entertain the idea of her dead sister trying to claim her body as an actual thing so.... take that as u will

but now theres that big squid ... welp!

Lundi 29 août : Skyline et Rooftop

Je suis accueillie par Yann, l'ami de Mumu (ma tante préférée!), dans son appart de dingue en plein centre de KL. Un triplex de 600m2, terrasse et piscine a débordement sur le toit...

Jetlag oblige, je fais une petite sieste puis nous partons au resto: la cuisine malaisienne est un mélange de cuisine chinoise, indonésienne, thaïlandaise et indienne.

Love Story

March is now over and so is our prenup shoot. But guess what, we're far from over from being busy. Laira and I work hand-in-hand in working through our remaining pre-requisities for our wedding and for our honeymoon in Palawan. This is good stress though as we're enjoying that we're building our memories together.

Now that it's April, we have just celebrated our last anniversary as girlfriend and boyfriend while we'll be celebrating my birthday this weekend. Our anniversary went great - we used the spa voucher that was given to us by the parents of one of Laira's students. It was a "premium" experience as we're given a private couple room complete with a shower area and a.. wait for it.. jacuzzi. Yes, that's right. I've been longing for a jacuzzi ever since especially when I didn't get to experience one in La Bella due to fatigue post-shoot. What's surprising though is since it's right after a massage, the water in the jacuzzi has to be hot but unfortunately, it was too hot for us to really enjoy it.

Was the experience worth it based on the price you paid for it? Probably. If you rarely go to spas and you wanted the full experience then I guess the price is justified. But if you frequent spas such as Nuat Thai or call in a home service and don't mind an oily body after the session, then it will just fall under a good experience that we might never try again unless offered by someone else.

I'd like to compare this to our ever-favorite, Ace Water Spa. For just around 6000, you'll already have 2 entries in the spa, a hotel room, a breakfast buffet for two and if my memory serves me right, 2 500-peso voucher that you can use at their rooftop resto-bar or at their cafe. So between this and The Spa, I might be comfortable saving up for Ace Water Spa instead - you'll get the whole day for you to do whatever you want at their premises (nearby as well) rather than being limited just for ~2 hours.

We were supposed to eat at Modern Shanghai due to good reviews but as we've already eaten Chinese food in TuanTuan on our exact anniversary day, we've opted for CIBO but seeing later on that most of the reviews mentions that it's overrated and expensive, we ended at Banapple as they're now offering a smaller serving of their delectable ribs. We also went back to Toby's Estate but sadly, I mistakenly ordered the wrong drink. It was a Chai Chocolate - it has ginger which while is "okay" for me, it was not a fun drink at all.

We strolled around SM Megamall afterwards hoping to finally purchase my wedding shoes but after a few realizations such as a hard-shelled shoes can be a bit uncomfortable depending on the thickness of the socks you're wearing as well as on how you walk, I decided to do a bit more research rather than jump the gun that day.

This week, we'll be dining at Senor Pollo again after so many years (this is the restaurant we ate on our very first date) and try to check if there are Rastaclats still in Landmark. As for the Omniverse Museum, I missed their 4.4 sale that will supposedly save us 1000. Here's to checking again on what other activities that we can do around the area.

There's so much more in store for this month. We'll also be having a get together with my cousins in BGC to try some good ramen and meet with Laira's family prior to the wedding.

Jekardah Trip Part 2

Dulu aku hanya bisa melihat stasiun kereta bawah tanah hanya dari layar televisi yang menyajikan scene di negara-negara maju. Kini, aku bisa menjajal secara langsung fasilitas dan moda transportasi tersebut. MRT begitu kereta tersebut disebut. Merupakan kepanjangan dari Moda Raya Terpadu yaitu sistem transportasi rel angkutan cepat.

Aku cukup membayar tarif sebesar Rp 7000,- untuk sekali perjalanan dengan menggunakan kartu deposit. Bisa menggunakan kartu multitrip, kartu MRT atau kartu e-money yang sudah support. Aku naik dari stasiun Dukuh Atas menuju ke stasiun Bundaran HI. Hanya butuh waktu sebentar saja sekitar 10 menit, kita sudah sampai di Bundaran HI. Kami lalu masuk ke halte dengan menempelkan kartu deposit agar bisa naik ke rooftop-nya. Saldo kami berkurang 3.500

Kukira hanya sekedar deck rooftop saja, ternyata di sana tersedia juga resto. Kami bertiga langsung menyusuri lorong untuk menuju ke deck dengan view Bundaran HI. Wah! Adalah kata pertama yang terucap dari mulut anak kampung ini, haha! Langsung saja kami bersiap diri untuk mengambil beberapa foto. Saat itu aku merasa menjadi anak hits Jekardah😂

Selesai berfoto, kami melanjutkan ke daftar kunjungan kami berikutnya yaitu kota tua. Sudah lama sekali aku ingin berkunjung ke sana. Aku termasuk menyukai bangunan-bangunan tua peninggalan zaman dulu. Ketikan hendak sampai ke halte tujuan, aku melihat sungai yang legendaris yang telah direnovasi menjadi semakin indah. Kali Besar Kota Tua disulap menjadi mirip seperti Sungai Cheonggyecheon di Seoul, Korea Selatan. Vibes-nya seperti berada di Eropa loh! Kamu wajib datang ke sini ya kalo ke Jakarta.

Selesai mengabadikan momen indah di Kali Besar Kota Tua, kami lalu beranjak ke spot utama yang ada di sana. Apalagi kalau bukan pelataran museum Fatahillah. Aku melihat banyak penyewaan sepeda serta ada penyewaan kostum untuk berfoto. Ada juga para seniman jalanan yang mempertunjukkan keahlian menghibur mereka. Ada yang cosplay jadi patung dengan berbagai tema. Banyak yang berfoto dengan mereka, sedangkan aku memilih untuk foto-foto sendiri saja bersama temanku. Lebih irit, hehe😂

Berjalan cukup lama, membuat kami haus. Di sana terdapat juga foodcourt dengan berbagai menu makanan dan minuman yang bisa kamu pilih. Kami memilih milkshake untuk melepas dahaga sambil istirahat meregangkan otot kaki. Harganya rata-rata masih tergolong affordable kok. Jadi kamu tidak perlu takut bakal merogoh kocek dalam kalau mau jajan di sana. 😉

olive se sentiu sempre a última, bom, ela foi a última a nascer. dois minutos e meio depois do seu irmão mais velho mais exatamente, e a última filha de seus pais- sua mãe precisou tirar o útero após complicações no parto dos gêmeos; ela já tinha tido um filho antes, dois anos mais velho que os dois. Todo o resto da sua vida não foi diferente: seus irmãos sempre pareciam mais rápido que ela em tudo, e eles se tornaram o foco da família desde cedo. james, seu irmão mais velho, começou a correr em karts no texas quando tinha apenas 8 anos de idade. E com treze anos, sua família largou tudo e se mudou para Espanha para dar ao garoto uma oportunidade melhor- e foi ali que seu irmão gêmeo descobriu o tênis- com 17 anos, ele já foi para o seu primeiro campeonato internacional. E olive... Estava lá. Se esforçando, procurando alguma coisa que ela fosse boa, mas nunca conseguindo achar nada. Seus pais nunca lhe cobraram nada, parte porque estavam focados demais nos seus outros dois filhos, outra parte porque nunca quiseram colocar pressão nela, mas ela ainda assim se sentiu um pouco frustrada toda sua vida, como se nunca fosse boa o suficiente, mesmo com as notas boas, mesmo passando em uma boa faculdade, mesmo agora se formando, ela nunca pareceu conseguir tanto quanto os outros da sua família. pedir o trabalho pro seu irmão? tinha sido algo que ela odiou fazer, mas após experiências ruins em clínicas na cidade, ela decidiu que queria trabalhar com atletas, fazendo uma pequena pós de seis meses antes de pedir oficialmente a vaga e conseguir ela.

The Inaugural Manila Food and Wine Festival Kicks Off at The Westin Manila

Inspired by the success of the Cebu Food and Wine Festival which held its third annual edition last June, Our Awesome Planet, Resto PH, and the Department of Tourism launched the inaugural Manila Food and Wine Festival last July 14, 2023 at the Grand Ballroom of The Westin Manila.

The Hungry Kat was invited to join this annual event that will draw food and wine enthusiasts from across the country to celebrate the finest that Metro Manila and the NCR region has to offer. The two-week event will run from July 14 to 27, 2023 across several restaurants and hotels in Manila showcasing the exciting works of talented celebrity chefs, restaurateurs, and culinary icons.

The inaugural Manila Food and Wine Festival is a gastronomic tourism celebration presented by the Department of Tourism that is also co-presented by Shangri-La Plaza, Discovery Primea, and Admiral Hotel Manila. Guests arrived at The Westin Manila Grand Ballroom for a night of exquisite food and wine selections from some of the country's best establishments.

Joining the grand launch were special celebrity chefs, guest merchants and innovators from the food and beverage industry. Among those we spotted were Chef Sau Del Rosario, Chef Chelle Gonzales, Chef Kalen Chan, and more.

The host for the evening was none other than Manila Food and Wine Festival founder and organizer Spanky Enriquez who envisioned this annual event to promote food tourism in the country.

Our Awesome Planet founder Anton Diaz gave an opening speech to welcome all the guests to the Manila Food and Wine Festival which aims to establish Manila and The Philippines as the newest culinary capital in Asia. Their goal is to showcase the best of the Philippines' food and wine, hotels and restaurants, chefs and restaurateurs, and fuel the fire of innovation to elevate our Filipino food culture to the world. From July 14 to July 27, food lovers and wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a gastronomic journey that showcases the country's vibrant food culture.

DOT OIC-Undersecretary for Tourism Development Verna Buensuceso said that the Manila Food and Wine Festival also aligns with the Department of Tourism's thrust to equalize opportunities across various areas of the country. She said that this project will really boost interest in food and gastronomy tourism. A plethora of exciting activities await festival-goers, including the festival bazaar at the Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium which ran last weekend, together with a series of chef collaborations in the best restaurants in Antipolo, Tagaytay, and Manila, a Makati pub crawl, a food stamping program, and the gala dinner finale.

One of these special events is the Gen Tsi, part of the Elements of Flavor series at Discovery Primea. Executive Chef Luis Chikiamco's passion for modern Asian fare stems from his extensive culinary experience from around the world. Together with Chef Sharwin Tee, who is known for his twists on Chinese-Filipino dishes, and Croissant Lady Donatella Chua, who creates playful pastry creations, they crafted a menu inspired by local dining scene favorites to highlight reminiscent flavors influenced by the Tsinoy culture. To elevate this gastronomic evening, Liquido Maestro Kalel Demetrio, an acclaimed mixologist of innovative concoctions, curated a selection of specialty cocktails to pair with the dishes. The two week festival ends with a bang at the Manila Iconic at Admiral Hotel Manila - MGallery. The Manila Food and Wine Festival presents an exceptional dinner event with great food, wine, and entertainment at The Admiral Club, Admiral Hotel’s unique rooftop dining destination. Chef Sau Del Rosario, with special guest Chef Tatung Sarthou, will be preparing an indulgent 8-course Filipino menu, honoring the culinary icons of the country: Engracia “Aling Asiang” Reyes, Nora Daza, and Larry J. Cruz. The dishes will be highlighted by the dessert creations of Admiral Hotel Manila's own Executive Pastry Chef, Christian Monera. Manila Iconic will be held on July 27, 2023. The grand launch of the Manila Food and Wine Festival continued with guests sampling the many food and beverage options on display at the Westin Manila Grand Ballroom.

Destileria Limtuaco brought out its cocktail menu that included their Manille Basil Smash, a combination of Empire London Dry Gin, Manille Liqueur de Calamansi, lemon juice, and basil syrup. Another popular cocktail was the Mango Rind Punch using Old Captain Rum and Paradise Mango Rum liqueur.

Luisita Rum also offered their specialty Luisita Oro straight, on the rocks, or as a unique cocktail that included coconut juice and nata de coco.

Other wines and beers were also available for guests to sample including Pilsner Urquell, Caymus Vineyard wines, and more.

The mooncake season is fast approaching so The Hungry Chef, who makes one of the country's best home-based mooncakes, gave samples for guests to enjoy.

The Westin Manila also brought out its special dishes and everyone lined up to try these creations. The Banana Couture is a unique appetizer that deceptively looks like an ordinary banana but is actually not! It's a banana pudding with a coconut and white chocolate glaze shell that you have to see to believe.

We were also shown The Art of Kinilaw which uses sustainable tuna, coconut and cane vinegar glaze, cilantro aioli, and chili pearls. This is a more flavorful and colorful version of the kinilaw we know.

Next is the Cavingero, a crispy lechon belly tacos with watermelon rind atchara and roasted garlic sauce. These bite-sized canapes really made us hungry for more.

The main courses were also impressive. The Chicken Tinola Paella Overload is a delightful deconstructed rendition of the classic Filipino favorite with crispy chicken skin and chili garlic crumbs on top of paella rice. This is a complete meal on its own!

The highlight of the night was the carving station featuring Kurobuta Lechon and other meaty dishes from Esguerra Kurobuta. Aside from the very crispy lechon skin and tender lechon meat using Bershire black pigs, they also had roast pork, roast chicken, and delicious baby back ribs.

For desserts, Karabella Dairy and Destileria Limtuaco had a collaboration that showcased their spiked gelatos like the Intramuros Liqueur de Cacao Gelato, Manille Liqueur de Calamnsi Gelato, and the Paradise Mango Rum Liqueur Gelato.

Another surprising item that evening was the Pork Sisig Donut Bites from Westin Manila. These look like ordinary glazed donuts on the outside but are actually filled with savory sisig on the inside. It also comes with calamansi and chicharon crumble, so I'm not really sure if this counts as a dessert or an appetizer.

The first item is a Lanzones Sorbet made with duco lanzones and garnished with fresh mint. At the back is the Dalandan Ice Cream made with fresh dalandan and garnished with candied dalandan peel. Lastly, the one in the middle is the Avocado Tres Leches using avocado ice cream made with avocado layered on tres leches cake soaked in condensed evaporated milk. A infância de Kobe não foi das mais extraordinárias… Ou talvez nem das mais normais também. Depois que seu pai foi embora, sua mãe precisou tomar conta de casa por conta própria, e por causa disso, não tinha tanto tempo para ele. Com o tempo, as promoções dela no banco em que trabalhava permitiu que contratasse alguém para tomar conta do filho, mas, assim como a mãe, Kobe passou a ficar cada vez menos tempo dentro de casa.

O tempo livre sozinho permitiu que o garoto explorasse o mundo quando não estava na escola - e algumas vezes até faltando as aulas -, e considerando os lugares que permitiam a participação de crianças, o que mais atraiu Kobe foi uma academia de dança que ficava a apenas alguns quarteirões de casa. Antes de realmente entrar lá, passou algumas semanas só assistindo às pessoas através dos grandes vidros que permitiam a visão da rua, mas participar das aulas foi mil vezes melhor. A expressão através dos movimentos na dança era um sentimento sem igual, e sem contar que tinha um lugar de fato divertido para ficar que não era sua casa.

Assim como a mãe, Kobe só voltava para casa para tomar banho e dormir, e essa rotina continuou até o final do colegial. Mas, a esse ponto, ele estava cansado disso. Ir para a faculdade já seria uma desculpa para se mudar dali, mas não era isso que ele queria. Sua mãe, aliás, desaprovava isso, mas foi mais motivo ainda para decidir de uma vez por todas ir embora.

O avô de Kobe o recebeu na Coreia do Sul de braços abertos, era realmente a única pessoa que ele gostava na família. Lá, claro, não ficaria parado na vida, e depois que foi contratado acabou fazendo um curso de bartender e de barista, e em alguns meses passou a trabalhar em um pequeno café na cidade de seu avô.

Hoje em dia, se mudou para Seul e, mais importante: continua dançando. Conseguiu arranjar emprego em um lugar bem melhor que o antigo estabelecimento, e sabe que não é isso que quer fazer pelo resto da vida. Mas, por enquanto, é divertido o suficiente para mantê-lo ali.

Ce week-end je suis allée à un restaurant avec un rooftop la vue était incroyable on avait une vue 360 sur la ville avec les montagnes c'était trop beau et en plus il y avait un arc en ciel ! Le resto pas ouf pour le prix par contre mais tampis. Samedi on a mangé à une crêperie le midi et ensuite on est allé faire une escape game puis on est allé au karting. J'en avais jamais fait j'avais super peur mais au final ça c'est bien passé, juste j'étais trop petite pour toucher les pédales le gars a dû me les rapprocher mdr une enfant celle-là. J'allais vite mais j'avais peur de rentrer dans quelqu'un donc j'en ai pas beaucoup profité, mais c'était quand même une chouette expérience. Il faisait beau et chaud et le ciel était beau
