What You Need To Know About Mahindra's Compact SUV
Why The Mahindra XUV300 Is The SUV You've Been Waiting For
In SA collisions are almost a norm - drivers change lanes and only then indicate, while others fail to keep to a safe following distance, so one’s driving expertise is a secondary factor on South African roads.
To be safe, you need to be in a car that has passed the crash safety test with flying colours. So, when I got a confirmation that I will be putting the Mahindra XUV300, W8, petrol variation to the test, I quickly googled the car, and the first thing that stood out for me was this: its safety credentials remain unmatched in its class.
It is needless to say that nobody leaves their homes with the hope that they will get into a car accident. But getting to your destination without a scratch on the car or losing your cool with fellow motorists is an underplayed win.
Parting ways with just over R300,000 for my protection in a car is not too bad at all. This Mahindra was tested by the Global New Car Assessment Programme for both India and Africa, the XUV300 set a new benchmark for crash safety in its class in Africa, and it boasts a score of 16.42 out of 17 for adult protection, giving it five out of five stars.
And if you drive with your little one sitting comfortably at the back, the car received four out of five stars for child safety.
I am generally not a fan of compact SUVs. They tend to straddle the line of giving you little of everything, and not entirely anything at the same time. That is my general view on compact SUVs, irrespective of the brand. Most of them don’t have enough boot space, and they give you just enough legroom, but you wish the people in the backseat would have enough legroom too.
But South Africans love compact SUVs, and they continue to buy them. That market is one of the toughest and most saturated. The Mahindra XUV300 competes in a rapidly growing segment with rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mazda CX30, Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Chery Tiggo Pro 4, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Haval H1, to name just a few.
With the XUV300, I thought the interior could have had a more luxurious finish to it, and less of the plastic feel. But the feature of an updated nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system makes you smile again. The new system is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, making it easy to just plug and play.
With fuel prices always going up and down, the XUV300’s fuel capacity is also equal to most hatchbacks, taking in 42 litres. I consistently got a consumption of 6.4l /100km, but this could be due to the traffic between Sandton and Centurion in the morning and afternoon.
I still don’t understand why this car has a six-gear transmission; the five gears are enough. But it’s a head-turner. When I shared a few pictures of the car on my WhatsApp status, friends and family couldn’t outright guess the brand of the car. They named the competitor brands and were surprised by the beautiful design by Mahindra.
The Mahindra XUV300 is a car that is reliable and has a beautifully distinguishable design. And you are guaranteed the highest level of safety, should the undesirable happen, especially if you are going to be on the road daily.

These are the safest cars in India according to the Global NCAP crash test rating. Indians need to understand the safety aspect before its too late. Let not the carmakers fool around by providing a list of useless features while making no efforts to make the cars safe.

Safety in cars has taken some major steps ahead in India since Global NCAP first began crash-testing Indian cars. Over the years, new rules have arrived into place making dual airbags and ABS required, with more safety restrictions expected to also be raised in the future. Safety ratings, too have enhanced from the dismal performance of 2014 with the first five-star rated car arriving in 2018 and the number now up to five. We take a look at the best 5 safest made-in-India cars presently on the market in 2022.

as told to my mother in the car:
and the balls is not just the joke in the title, but also there’s this other character, with the eyeball. he witnessed the original beheading, the beheading in the origo, and his eye is poked out right after, so it becomes a memory stick… memory orb. containing the beheading. and this eyeball memory guy chases the silver light of the protagonist (yes mom the silver soul balls guy from the title) because he wants the silver light to penetrate his eyeball and access the eternity of the memory of the beheading so they can make a beautiful memory for themselves and make the narrative less circular… for some

people say the home is where the heart is. brad knows it's bullshit, though.
home is where you feel safe.
and the only place brad can feel truly safe is his car. whether it's his old beat up silver 2006 toyota corolla or his shiny new white 2020 audi rs 3, he spends more time in his car than his apartment.
well, when he's not sick, at least.
brad bought his corolla new back in 2006. it was his first car, and he still affectionately refers to it as "ol reliable" even though it's pushing 410k miles. the car's nearly undrivable now - there's something wrong with the transmission and the car rattles suspiciously when he drives faster than 60mph in it, but he keeps it anyway because it's the only non-living thing he's ever been attached to. that old car got him away from his father and zack, after all. he saved for years to buy it.
because the thing is - cars are safe. which is ironic, because people die in their cars far more than they die in their homes. but they aren't murdered in their cars. well, not frequently, at least. brad knows that zack knows his address. no matter how often brad moves, zack has always known his new address in a matter of weeks. brad's given up on constantly uprooting his life to hide from the inevitable.
but there isn't a paper trail to follow when brad is in his car. he can drive as long and as far as he wants, and no one can follow him or stop him. that was part of his reason for getting his current car - he knows zack can't afford a faster car than he has, so theres zero chance of zack stalking and hurting him when he's driving. not to mention the fact that brad doesnt have any neighbors when he's driving around, so he can blast his music as loud as he wants and scream when he's pissed off and no one will ever hear or know. it's a great release.
brad isnt a car guy. he's only owned two cars throughout his entire life. but he would rather die than be carless. thats another reason he kept his corolla when he got his audi - one day, his audi may be in need of repair or something that requires it to be taken into a shop, and brad doesnt feel comfortable without an escape plan. better safe than sorry, after all.

So on the topic of the PGM, which spell had the most surprising outcome for you? And which one brought you the most delight? ❤️
Let me tell you about my first experience with the PGM. Before I was a magician, I was(and am) a student of history. I originally planned to read it out of cultural interest. I found something alluring, and my curiosity compelled me to try a spell.
The purse-strings were tight that winter so I decided to try a prosperity spell. I won't quote or name the specific formula, because I do not want to give an inadvertent recommendation. For those who have read the PGM, it is a Hermes-Thoth prosperity spell using a statue and box. My recreation of the formula was very amateurish. I made senseless substitutions, it was poorly composed, failed to include any warding. It was a mess, but I didn't expect anything so I was unconcerned.
The next day my car was totaled.
Fortunately, it was parked with no one inside at the time. Also the car market was and is terrible, so I got an excellent payout from my insurance. That was my first experience with Hermes-Thoth so I'd say it was both rather surprising and has brought me a great deal of delight.
