A Breath of Fresh Air With Sandy Kaye bombshellradio.com Tuesdays 1pm EST and Fridays 8pm EST Ricky Byrd's musical career is a journey characterised by his exceptional guitar skills, collaborations with iconic artists, and a powerful commitment to using music as a force for positive change. His love for rock 'n' roll and the influences from guitar legends like Chuck Berry and Keith Richards, ignited a passion for the instrument. He honed his skills in the New York City music scene and in the mid-1980s, Ricky Byrd was invited to join the legendary rock band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, a group already celebrated for their chart-topping hit "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." Ricky’s soulful and compelling guitar riffs became an integral component of the band's signature sound. Like so many artists, Ricky Byrd's musical journey took a personal turn as he battled addiction, a struggle that ultimately led him to confront his demons and embark on a path to sobriety. His experiences with addiction and recovery profoundly influenced his music, culminating in the creation of the album "Clean Getaway," which served as a source of hope and inspiration for those grappling with addiction. Both Ricky and Joan Jett used their platform to advocate for essential social causes. Ricky emerged as a passionate spokesperson for addiction recovery and mental health awareness. His outreach efforts and music still provide support and encouragement to individuals navigating the challenging path to recovery. Ricky Byrd joins us this week to share his music and his story.   Sandy Kaye [email protected] www.abreathoffreshair.com.au fb: sandykayepresents tw:@sandykpresents Read the full article
