why do i know this? they were stefania’s neighbors in saska kepa, of course, and socialized with her and jelonka for years. they seem to have been close with wanda jablonka as well, but i have to investigate those ties when i have access to more materials.

I ran 10 km and crossed the bridge from saska kepa and powisle twice in hardcore weather. I wasn’t dressed appropriately for the weather however I still performed through with dedication. I realized it’s mostly about the mindset when running and achieving your goals.

JANUARY: Going for a walk - Activity

As the winter surprised us, after a very warm Christmas, I decided to go for a winter walk. I had to wear all my warm gear - put termoactive shirt and leggings, warm shoes and a hat.

I walked for around 2 hours wondering through a winter wonderland in Saska Kepa. I was listening to a very interesting podcast for my psychology class about the difference between psychopaths, sociopaths, and narcissists. It was a nice twist as normally I have a problem with focusing on podcasts and I get easily distracted. Here, while walking, I was able to focus on all the information and remember them quite well.

I must admit, I loved this walk through white Warsaw after the grey and rainy weather for many days. I prefer the cold and snow over the rain and foul weather.

Activity - September

Despite the not very active lifestyle that I conduct during the school year, I’m still able to do some actual walking. I opt for walking the extra ten minutes to get home instead of taking the bus to and from the metro, etc.. I’ve also found it’s nice to just cross the bridge from Saska Kepa to the centre, as long as it’s warm outside.

Riding a Lime scooter (Activity) April 19th, 2019

Today, on the 19th of April I rode a Lime electric scooter for the first time. I drove it from saska kepa to Warsaw old town, which is 7.4 km and this took me around an hour and 35 minutes. I really enjoy riding Like scooters, because it’s a more fun way of transportation while still being outside and not underground in comparison to the metro. I highly recommend trying it out, the process of renting one is also very simple once using the Lime app. I will definitely be using limes as a more common way to get around the city:)

in 1913, when she was still a student (though already married!), stefania zahorska became the first woman in the history of the austro-hungarian empire to get certified as a court translator (polish-hungarian). she maintained this position on a volunteer basis until WWII; her name is listed in the 1938 court translator registry under her saska kepa address

ACTIVITY

Today to take a brake from studying I decided to take out my bike and refresh. I biked from Saska kepa to Sadyba to visit my friend and continue studying with her. This took me around 30 minutes. This trip was around 6,5 km. I challenged myself out of my comfort zone of my own room.
