I will almost always check out a new Shazam comic from DC, but I’m particularly drawn towards takes that don’t try to shoehorn him tonally into the mainstream DCU. This one stood out for me by focusing on a more grounded view of Billy Batson as a young teen, and a maybe more realistic(ish) view of how someone like that would adapt to having the powers of a superhero.
