aw i’m glad!

hmm... well i might as well just list everyone’s roles in the au, since they probably won’t all appear in the fic!

boris “doc habit” habit: former ranch hand and equine dentist turned vigilante. he inherited a great deal of money when he murdered his father and now he spends his time hunting and killing abusers, exploitative politicians, racists, corrupt officials, and anyone else who earns his wrath.

kamal bora: an independent ranger working in a small west texas town. assigned by the mayor to track down and apprehend doc habit by any means necessary. (these means end up being falling in love with him.)

wallus breadbear: kamal’s business partner, handles the legal and financial side of things while kamal does investigative work. extremely suspicious of doc habit.

marv truncler: mayor of the small texas town in which kamal and wallus work. mostly the mayor because he’s good enough at his job to run unchallenged in local elections for years.

jimothan botch: owner and barkeep at the local saloon in the small town. familiar with all the town’s residents, and especially familiar with the newcomer, trencil varnia.

tiff webber: plays piano and sings at the saloon. close friends with jimothan and known as a minor celebrity in west texas, as well as being one of the most beautiful women in town. men would do anything for her, but she’s taking a bit of a break from men right now. (she is Not taking a break from the local photographer.)

mirphy fotoparat: resident journalist and photographer. she makes most of her living doing work for the local newspaper and taking portraits of rich folks.

parsley botch: jimothan’s son and the owner of the local bank. he gets robbed maybe once a week and is just sick of it at this point. he wanted to move up north and practice law, but didn’t have the heart to leave his tiny hometown behind.

randy hapukurk: from new york, moved down to texas to get “inspiration” for his novel and stayed when he started gettin’ friendly with a worker at jimothan’s saloon. his book didn’t sell very well, so now he works at the bank with parsley while trying to write another one.

gillis socco: works at jimothan’s saloon, mostly breaking up bar fights and keeping troublemakers out. he’s a real softie on the inside, though, jimothan swears it.

trencil varnia: a gardener and florist who just recently moved to the small texas town with his daughter, nat. a good friend of boris’s from his ranch hand days and provides a place to stay when boris is on the move. usually pretty reclusive, but very friendly with the local saloon owner.

nat varnia: trencil’s preteen daughter. doesn’t like that they don’t live in a big city anymore. close to boris since she was a child, calls him “uncle boris”.

trevor garbo: local kid living in the small town. one of nat’s first friends upon moving there. scrappy and rambunctious, spends a lot of time causing trouble around town and “investigating” the residents.

tim tam: a child living in the town. known to walk into stores and take things without so much as looking the shopkeeper in the eye. the shopkeepers are used to them by now. some leave out items labeled “FOR TIM TAM”.

putunia: a young girl with a big imagination who desperately wants out of her parents’ house. she’s gotten far too used to bruises and blood. she wants to be the one fighting bad guys, not the person being attacked.

lulia fame: owner of a local jewelry store and tailor’s shop. she had dreams of moving to hollywood to star in silent films, but is currently tied down to the small town in texas. she doesn’t mind, though; her wife is here.

jerafina tabouli: local schoolteacher. loves the kids and the town she lives in, especially her wife, but sometimes wishes some “action” would shake the place up.

dallas smuth: freelance artist who often gets work as a sketch artist for justice systems in adjacent towns and cities. he doesn’t like doing that, would much rather make his own art, but it pays the bills, and he’s rather good at it.

borbra luddington: local ranch owner who raises chickens and horses. often provides horses to kamal and wallus when they need them.

questionette: from new orleans, with an accent that renders her difficult to understand for the others. rides horses as a hobbyist, but is looking to do it for a living, and has a particular fondness for the luddington ranch.

ronbo: he’s just a rodeo clown

Small random notes:

-When Jim and Trenc get married, Nat starts calling Jim 'dad'. Victor does not.

-Victor and Jim butt heads quite a bit. When Vic is a bit older and more confident the two will get into loud screaming arguments that Trencil has to break up.

-Legally speaking, only Trencil adopted Victor. Jimothan isnt actually a legal guardian for him, though he is one for Nat.

-Despite all this Jim DOES care about Victor. He's just a grumpy old man about it. And Victor does see Jim as one of his fathers. He's just a rebelious teenager about it.

-Jimothan likely does change his mind on the vampirism thing one day.

-Victor has developed some form of abandonment issues.

-Essentially when people he cares for grow distant or leave he feels its because he chased them away by talking too much and he tears himself apart for it.

-As a result he clings to any friendships he can have.

-One of the best perks of Millie being his best friend is that she's immortal just like him and Nat

-His adult "coping" is him wanting intimacy and an excuse to get a snack (blood)

-He does legitimately love Trevor but hes far too scared to admit that to himself so he just ignores it

-despite that he still leans on and tries to get casual physical affection from Trevor constantly. Though he seems unaware of it. (And the whole.. Hookup thing.)

-Though Nat and Millie can easily see they care for eachother A LOT, the two are 100% convinced the other doesnt care/just uses them.

-Yes the girls have tried explaining this to them both but they're IDIOTS. (Technically Victor does kinda realize it buuut, back to the scared to admit to himself)

-They figure it out eventually dw... Probably

-Victor loves Lavenders. He dreams of owning a lavender farm and raising bees

-Boy practically collects lavendar candles/insence/ect.

-Victors bedroom would be a mini forest if Trencil would let him but Trencil has a cap on how many houseplants are allowed in each room (purely for this reason)

-Victor keeps the three in-game flowers in his room and gains a new tooth lily from Boris down the line. He manages to keep these plants going for SEVERAL years. They are his pride and joys

-Victor was always planning on being turned from the moment he could properly understand Romans offer. He just played the smart way and waited to make sure it wasnt childlike excitement.

-Victor gets top surgery and all of his udershirts are left to collect dust. He literally just only wears his suit jacket and he ROCKS it.

-Tim Tam gets all of his old binders because the two of them are roughly the same size and Victor had some really cool patterned binders.

-Victor and Nat move out together and share an apartment.

-Nat does college asap while Victor is more of an "odd job" kinda guy. Though Trencil mostly supports them cause hes fucking loaded.

-Victor claims he'll do college one day... He's got centuries to get to it, he's in no rush.

“I’m worried about you.” Belle n Trencil?

I know this is an angst one, but I’m looking for excuses to write about these two and Jimothan so,,,,sorry anon, I’m going my own way with this one a little,,,,,

“I’m worried about you.”

“Hmm?” Trencil snapped out of his daydream to look at his wife. She was frowning slightly, and not looking at him.

“Ever since you went to the Habitat, you’ve been acting weird,” she said. “All...up in your head and wistful. I know it was good for you and Nat, and I’m glad you went, but I feel like something’s going on.” Trencil sighed and felt guilt start to eat at him again.

“It’s nothing my love, I promise.” Belle frowned and turned to him.

“I don’t appreciate being lied to Trencil.” Her voice was serious, and Trencil sighed deeply.

“I met someone at the Habitat,” he said.

“Someone bad?” Belle asked.

“Far from it.” There was a long moment of silence.

“Oh...” Belle murmured. Trencil sighed again, and tried to push away some tears.

“It will fade darling, it doesn't mean anything, I-”

“What’re they like?” Trencil jumped, and turned to look at Belle. She was...smiling? “How’d you meet them?”

So Trencil told her all about Jimothan. About how they were there for similar reasons, about how they had bonded over trouble with home life, about how Jimothan was handsome in a rugged sort of way, how he was rough but kind, how he had captured Trencil’s attention. How he’d given Jimothan his number out of some weird instinct.

“I hadn’t meant to flirt!” Trencil said. “I meant for him to call me about problems with his son, or...or...”

“If you’re going to have a boyfriend, I’d like to meet him.” Trencil’s mouth fell open and he turned to stare at Belle. She looked...odd. Happy. Happy? Why was she happy? “He makes you happy, right?”

“Y-yes...” Trencil admitted, feeling ashamed.

“Then I’ll have to meet him! And we can talk about it more from there!” She turned back to cleaning the kitchen. “I can’t wait!”

“But...what do you...what?”

“Trencil, you were alive during the roman empire. I think you know a little about relationships between more than two people.”

“GROSS!” Trencil and Belle both laughed at Nat’s comment from the other room.

“Thank you my love,” Trencil whispered. Belle smiled.

“Of course darling.”

HERE WE GO AGAIN LADS

IVE BEEN WRITING THIS FOR DAYS

I’m stealing a lot of ideas from my discord and Tim’s alters are from @jaysbabyknife

Some ideas from: @habitmorelikefuckyou, @benjamin-benny-ben, @cryptidalex, @jaysbabyknife and others (but I don’t have their urls)

I would like to preference this with the fact I do not have DID. If I get anything wrong I’m sorry, please let me know so I can change it.

So anywho, lets get onto the domestic headcanons

-This should be obvious but the Corenthal household is LGBT+ friendly!!! No homophobes and transphobes allowed thanks!!

-Evan and Alex play Overwatch and Forenight together a lot

-“DAD SAYS IT MY TURN TO USE THE XBOX”

-Steph collects bugs! She really likes them and finds them fascinating

-Milo still has Oscar the cat

-Stan has a little garden back behind the house

-Tim and Jay are dating because I said so

-There first date was them exploring the woods together, neither of them thought it was a date until Tim had the impulse to kiss him and he did and then went “K bye see you next time” and they’ve been dating ever sense

-The Corenthal household loves Jay, he’s practically one of my them at this point

-Jay has a bunch of lizards and rats and he bring them over from time to time

-One of them is named Jimothan and he’s a big baby

-Sunday movie nights with family. Friends and datefriends are allowed but if your corenthal’s kid you gotta be there

-Patrick and Michael share a room. They could have separate rooms but when Michael has a nightmare or panic attack (something that used to happen often) Patrick calms him down, and vice versa

-Tim reads a lot of books

-One of the rules of the house: If you see, think or even feel something wrong, you tell someone. It may be nothing, but it could be something

-Everyone still takes medication

-Alex reads a lot of comics and really like superhero movies

-Jeff isn’t really a fan but he’ll take Alex to see them anyway

-Alex dresses up as Spiderman for Halloween

-Tim works at a movie theater not too far from the house

-Roger dragging Vinnie out to the woods to search for Bigfoot and the Mothman

-Michael, Tim and Jeff both love music and play together sometimes

-Patrick still dresses in really fancy outfits whenever he can

-Stan is dating a girl from down the road named Susan

-They’re that cutesy couple who everyone hates for being too cute

-Tim has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder)

-“Masky” in this universe is name is Vendetta, Ven for short. He saw the movie once and said “that’s my name now”

-He’s selectively mute. He usually uses sign language

-He’s like.... a huge dork. Like he’s still feral and stuff but... he’s a major dork

-He tends to wonder the forest when he wants to be alone

-He’s got a huge crush on Jay. He keeps leaving jay wildflowers (with dirt and roots) and is like “DOES HE LIKE THEM??”

-He keeps wanting to hug and kiss him all the time and Tim is just like “please stop”

-Tim: “Alright we’re going to hang out with ja-“ Ven, forcing himself to the front: “JAY??? JAY?!? 💕JAY!!!”

-He and Jay have to talk by texting for a while

-Jay learning sign language so he can talk to Ven and Ven goes “!!!!!!”

-come on Jay how come you get two boyfriends

-Ven likes to walk around at odd hours. Tim will wake up at Burger King at 3:46 am and be like “Fuck”

-Loves!!! Rain!!!

-Halloween is his time

-Dr. Corenthal has to turn on tracking on his phone so he can find Tim when this happens

-He has a younger alter named Billy, who’s ten years old

-He is baby

-He makes fun of Tim a lot and loves armadillos

-He keeps trying to convince Jay to steal one from the zoo and Jay is so tempted

-Alex is excited because he’s not the youngest anymore!!!

-He wants Tim to be a cowboy for some reason

-Billy: “Dr. Corenthal can we get an armadillo and name it Sprinkles” Corenthal: “It kills me to say no but-“

-He helps Stan with his garden sometimes

-Billy also loves Sparky

-He has an alter named Mary and she is a mom

-She is very calm and respectful to everyone

-She’s so.... soft

-Protective af

-She and Dr. Corenthal like to sit and just talk

-She gets very worried whenever Evan has his knives out cause like... it’s dangerous and Christ he’s gonna hurt himSELF PUT IT DOWN

-She really likes to draw. She’s a really good artist

-Mary would like.... die for this family

-Her favorite band is The Oh Hellos

-Tim: *stays up until 1am watching Netflix eating drunk food* Mary, on the verge of tears: “Please.... just go to bed”

-All of Tim’s alters love Jay. All of them

-When Dr. Corenthal found out Tim had DID he was like “Great!!! More kids!!!”

-Brian will come over a lot and play with Alex

-D&D nights on Tuesdays

-Stan tutors a 3rd grader named Willow from down the road

-Milo still writes in his journal

-Noah really likes photography

-The Rake is there but he’s not... evil or anything he’s just.... there

-Alex and him can talk like, telepathically kinda of

-Alex puts little hats and stuff on the Rake and he’s cool with it

-Milo and Noah will go out at weird times, like they leave at 2am for milkshakes because they just want milkshakes

-Patrick is the go to man for events outfits. He’s got a top notch fashion sense

-Of course living in a house full of people that mostly wear hoodies and flannel gives him a headache

-Once when Alex was 8 he convinced Jeff to perform in his school’s talent show. Jeff really didn’t want to do it but he wanted to make Al happy

-The whole family showed up and were so proud of them

-VERY LOVING AND HAPPY FAMILY
