well my whole eve/victoria pedretti mind connection (also this afternoon was crying for a good 20 minutes while painting and rewatching the haunting of hill house) this disabling the exit to the bar and then everyone trying to eat each other reminds me of that church scene in midnight mass (was she even in that one? lol) but way less emotionally fraught. and shorter. adds to the list of gif comparatives of various stuff with spn that i may never get around to because making gifs is tedious work i don't particularly enjoy.

i think i'm delighted to hear licensed music because it's so infrequent now and it's a lot more fun than the score 😬

when i was a kid, i helped my dad fill shotgun shells using something like this (primarily for shooting skeet at a range though he also hunted)

anyway. dean is using a literal tablespoon to put the phoenix's ashes in these special shells apparently. fear not, a well used shotgun shell reloader in the back there (lee load-all reloader only $79.99 at cabela's!)

I remade the Mare's Leg mesh, adding a saddle ring and switching out the front handguard and receiver texture with the one from the Trail Carbine.

I also keep forgetting that the Mare's Leg is not a unique, so this ought to "fix" that. Or make you question the existence of god, depending on how you feel about Picatinny rails and carbon fiber.

This weapon will be chambered in .45-70, so that it can also take the .410 bore shotshell. As a consequence, its maximum capacity will be reduced to four rounds.

I've probably brought this up before but it's on my mind again. Shotguns are arguably the most versatile hunting firearm. A shotgun with a few barrel setups and a reloading bench can keep a lot of food on the table. While shot and slugs can be made a few ways, smokeless powder and blackpowder can be made at home as well, even hulls can be made of paper, primers are a bit of a problem. They can be rebuilt or made but it is difficult. However percussion caps are easier to make and tooling is already available.

In the latter half of the 1800s shotshells were available that had a screw in base to use the still very common percussion caps instead of primers.

I think it would be very advantageous to have a modern version available. Possibly using existing shotshell bases. For example the primer pocket could be opened to accept the top of a percussion cap and a metal insert with cap nipple machined. Then a cap placed on the insert loaded down into the base leaving the top of the percussion cap exposed like a primer and the insert pinning to hull to the walls of the base. I don't know if this would require a modified firing pin or not, but if it meant independence from commercially available primers it's a win.

I'm about 8 hours in on my RE4 remake run and I just got to the castle. The fight against Mendez was more or less the same as the original just with some extra QTEs added and he throws stuff at you in the second stage. The riot gun became available just before the fight and really saved my ass. I put nothing into upgrading the first shotgun because I was expecting to get rid of it. Unfortunately the riot gun is a lot bigger than the stock shotgun. They were the same size in the original.

Another thing that disappointed me is that when you upgrade weapon capacity in the remake it doesn't top off your ammo. I'm super low on shotshells.

Leo… should not be in the Varia. Everyone who knows him thinks so. Squalo, his friends, even the Neo Vongola question what the hell a nice and caring person like Leo is doing in the Varia. Unlike Ava he doesn’t exactly hold anything “dark” in his heart. He is genuinely scared of hurting people and dislikes going into fights, trying to use his environment to inconvenience opponents or knock them out. He is very caring about everyone, even those that aren’t his friends and offers support and a shoulder to cry on when someone needs it. Leo is also mute. In his childhood his vocal chords had to be removed and since then he can barely make any sounds and communicates either through a text to speech app or simple sign language. It’s common knowledge that one of the reasons Leo is just a high ranking officer is not just that he is kind and lacks leader qualities, but that he can not traditionally communicate. That is why he is always paired with someone that understands his sign language, which usually ends up being Sergey. Otherwise he is an absolutely devastating force, able to shake a building with one single flame enforced punch. He fights usually in a more kick boxing like style to make the best use of his weapons and strength. To the question of why a guy like him even got into fighting in the first place there is just one answer: Sergey. The two of them know each other since they were kids and after Sergey left and decided to become a mafiosi, Leonard followed, not unlike Ava came to the Varia because of Squalo.

The Gauntlets:These were specifically made for Leo by a skilled engeneer on the level of Verde and Gianini. They use the same a similar technique as Xanxus guns, storing Leos lightningflame to be released in a powerful addition to his already devastating punches. However different than for Xanxus, Leo can not use the gauntlets for any kind of propulsion and agility. Still it’s a force to be feared as he can easily destroy the environment even getting so far as to shatter the ground when he drops from a high enough altitude to the ground

More Trivia:

* While Leo is already considered a fucking monster when it comes to his punches he is also known to be able to do the 1-inch-punch with severe magnitude and during the Unseen Varia Training Camp Arc it’s the technique he teaches Ryohei* Because Leo and Sergey spend almost all their time together Sergey was declared by him as an honorary Rain Division member.* He is also considered an adopted brother to Sergeys massive family.* Levi similar to Bel, feels threatened by Leos combat abilities, however doesn’t do much aside of deny him a higher position, as he knows that Leo could never be an officer, unlike Lorenzo who is a looming shadow in Bels back.* Leo is universally loved. Not even Lorenzo seems to be able to be excessively mean to him.* He can play the guitar and you can sometimes find Ser acompanying the strumming with some singing.* Luss has a soft spot for Leo, not just because they are both similar in their fighting style and often spar, but because Luss both wants Leo to stay innocent and the only good soul in the Varia, yet also be there when Leo ultimately gets corrupted.
