Y'all surprised at mailin and finn getting together out of the blue, when last season all Isi did was ignore Sascha, ditch him and chase after another girl for half of the season, so they could say they had "true feelings for sascha all along 😝" and make sascha forgive them in 3 seconds, even though both him and km said isi treated him like constantin treated them, so the two could get together??? Like, they acted like treating someone poorly, ignoring them and basically being all over someone else = having a crush. So, it's obvious they couldn't care less about finn and mailin having any development?

If one thing these writers have is being consistent in writing terrible terrible couples

It's just a little disappointing that theyve introduced two new characters (why?) and appear to be saddling them with generic personalities, with Sascha's being the historically more digestible (see: Fatou, Finn, Josh and abdi for ref). Theres an obvious opportunity there to give Lou a more profound role in Ismail's life but the more they advance with this season the less convinced i am that they'll take that opportunity

imo sascha seems like a 1 season character and lou is a more permenant addition.

I can understand why ismail needed to have a friend outside of the instas because all of them enable constantin in some way or another so ismail needs an outside perspective to understand how bad constantin can be. sascha has clearly rolled his eyes at the instas but there were some lost opportunities to give him more substance. e.g. he could have (even jokingly) spoken up when ismail took full credit for making the shelves and shown his disapproval for constantin ditching after the party a little more. ALSO I think they should have made constantin interrupt ismail and sascha's moment at the party instead of lou (and made the moment a little less romantic-looking). you're right he is kind of generic so far - it would be cool if he was more blunt and honest about his dislike for the instas/constantin. although my guess is that he eventually might lose his patience in a later episode.

in regards to lou, she is interesting so far- a mix of bold and edgy with a kind side. she comes across as someone who can actually keep up with ismail/the instas partying lifestyle but without the fakeness. I feel like ismail needs to have another person who can match their energy rather than a more timid love interest which is why lou makes a good match. although I agree I hope she gets further development- because she is fine so far but if she remains the same the whole season then it wouldn't be enough. season 5 and 6 both had the feeling that they had a plan and even though there was a main story, there were small setups for other characters. I hope they integrate integrate lou with other characters as well. I think ava and lou could be a potential friendship (I made a post about them both having divorced parents) or even lou and mailin (both with a rebellious streak). just having these friendships develop in the background could make her feel more real. I prefer to remain optimistic that whatever they do with Lou's character will work out. I fear how the tag will react if she does (1) thing bad though.

what do you think is the obvious opportunity to give lou a more profound role in ismail's life? do you mean about gender? druck is being so vague about whether they are going to bring ismail's gender expression into the story so far, if it wasn't for umut I would think they might not address it at all.

interesting that you put fatou, finn, josh and abdi in the same category- I don't really see them as the same. to me abdi is like loveable idiot, fatou is a dreamer, josh despite being very nice is very assertive and finn is just underdeveloped.

my complaints so far are we need more of the instas and I wish it was sascha vs constantin instead of sascha vs lou. but I don't dislike the season at all. episode 3 had been noticeably better.

If you had to match each new generation character with one from the old generation, who do you think would get along? for example, I think fatou/david or amira/mailin

I think Fatou would get along well with Matteo, David and Hanna. They all have the warm chill vibes.

Mailin...hmm yeah I can see Amira and Jonas maybe?

Ava would get along with David. She'd have like one or two discussions with Mia about art but then their personalities would not really match. So it would just be like kinda awkward unless they were talking about art.

Nora is a hard one. I'd say once again David but that's just 'cause David would get along with anyone. I can also imagine her having a nice relationship with her future brother-in-law Carlos. He's sort of this dad figure in her life you know. So I can imagine in the future Nora embarrassingly calling Carlos that a pipe broke in the apartment and she doesn't know what to do and please don't tell Kiki I told her I can take care of myself and he'd just be like sure and walk her through fixing the pipe or something, you know?

I feel like Finn would get along well with Abdi and Carlos. Like he has that wholesome dumbass energy around him. I feel like he'd just replace Ismail and Constantine with those two and realised you don't have to be drunk in the middle of the street to have fun. Oh also Essam. He'd be good friends with Essam.

I feel like Ismail and Hans would meet in some bar and have a great time together but then they'd not really talk afterwards. Like they'd be sort of great friends when out on the town but not really friends otherwise you know?

I think Constantin and Leonie would have this competitive rivalry during PE class. Other than that I can't see him being friends with anyone from the og characters.

And somehow I feel like Kieu My would be friends with Amira and Hanna. The baking clip made me convinced of that. It reminded me of all those insta stories of Hanna cooking. And Amira and Kieu My would talk clothes and makeup and cook and bake with Hanna.

anyway yeah idk these are I guess a bit random but that's what I thought of.
