#so much lost in translation and so much erroneously added in translation
Text
genuinely wondering how much of the enstars experience changes if you access enstars mainly from engstars, given how many.. questionable translation decisions they make.
everytime i see a screenshot of 'name-chan' being TLed as 'little (name)' i just instictively feel anger on behalf of the person called 'little'. calling someone 'little' in english is almost always snide and condescending, unless the person in question is actually young or little - which is not the case in enstars. they're talking to people in their age bracket. my brain just registers it as the character being passive-aggressive until i remember that Engstars is TLing it from Chinese, where calling someone 小(name) is a cute and endearing nickname the way you might nickname an Allison 'Allie'.
like. i promise it's okay to include '-chan' and 'Kao-kun'. English speakers can learn honorifics.
This is just hoping that the native English readers who have internalised English-specific connotations also understand the translation difficulties on two layers (here, that JP -> CN -> EN is -chan -> xiao -> little). It's making readers do the tedious work of 1. already being familiar with 3 languages 2. already being familiar with how they're commonly translated 3. consciously parsing through the TLers intentions instead of immersing in the story. It's ridiculous.

Was the Septuagint Destroyed When the Library of Alexandria Was Burnt Down in 48 BC?
By Author Eli Kittim 🎓
The Argument
Some people (typically Jewish apologists) claim that the Septuagint doesn’t exist because it was destroyed when the Library of Alexandria was burnt down in 48 BC.
This conclusion, however, is both textually misleading & historically erroneous.
First
The Alexandrian Library and its collection were not entirely destroyed. We have evidence that there was only partial damage and that many of its works survived. According to Wiki:
The Library, or part of its collection, was
accidentally burned by Julius Caesar during
his civil war in 48 BC, but it is unclear how
much was actually destroyed and it seems
to have either survived or been rebuilt
shortly thereafter; the geographer Strabo
mentions having visited the Mouseion in
around 20 BC and the prodigious scholarly
output of Didymus Chalcenterus in
Alexandria from this period indicates that
he had access to at least some of the
Library's resources.
Second
The Septuagint had already been written and disseminated among the diaspora since the 3rd century BC, and so many of its extant copies were not housed in the Library of Alexandria per se.
Third
Textual Criticism confirms that the New Testament authors used the Septuagint predominantly and quoted extensively from it. If the Septuagint didn’t exist, where did the New Testament authors copy from? And how do you explain the fact that the New Testament and the Septuagint often have identical wording in their agreements?
Fourth
The Dead Sea Scrolls also demonstrate that the Septuagint was far more accurate than the 10th-century-AD Masoretic text. See, for example, the textual controversy surrounding Deuteronomy 32:8. Both the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Septuagint have “sons of God.” The Masoretic text is demonstrably inaccurate because it has “sons of Israel,” a later redaction. Israel didn’t even exist at that time!
Fifth
Emanuel Tov, a leading authority on the Septuagint who has explained the various textual families (or text-types) of the Old Testament, never once mentioned that we lost the Septuagint, or that it was destroyed, or that it was no longer in circulation. On the contrary, he claims that it continued to be in use during the Christian period and that it is much more older than the 10th-century-AD Masoretic text, which the Jews call the “Hebrew Bible.”
Sixth
If the Septuagint was completely destroyed, as some have erroneously suggested, from where were the later revisionists and translators copying from? We have historical evidence that they were, in fact, copying from the Septuagint itself. Wiki writes:
Theodotion … was a Hellenistic Jewish
scholar, … who in c. 150 CE translated the
Hebrew Bible into Greek. … Whether he was
revising the Septuagint, or was working
from Hebrew manuscripts that represented
a parallel tradition that has not survived, is
debated.
So there’s evidence to suggest that the Theodotion version is a possible *revision* of the Septuagint. This demonstrates that the Septuagint existed in the second century AD! Otherwise, where was Theodotion copying from if the Septuagint didn’t exist?
Seventh
The great work of Origen, Hexapla, compiled sometime before 240 AD, is further proof that the Septuagint was still in use in the 3rd century AD! Wikipedia notes the following:
Hexapla … is the term for a critical edition
of the Hebrew Bible in six versions, four of
them translated into Greek, preserved only
in fragments. It was an immense and
complex word-for-word comparison of the
original Hebrew Scriptures with the Greek
Septuagint translation and with other Greek
translations.
Encyclopedia Britannica adds:
In his Hexapla (“Sixfold”), he [Origen]
presented in parallel vertical columns the
Hebrew text, the same in Greek letters, and
the versions of Aquila, Symmachus, the
Septuagint, and Theodotion, in that order.
Eighth
Besides Origen’s Hexapla, we also have extant copies of the Septuagint. According to wiki:
Relatively-complete manuscripts of the
Septuagint postdate the Hexaplar
recension, and include the fourth-century-
CE Codex Vaticanus and the fifth-century
Codex Alexandrinus. These are the oldest-
surviving nearly-complete manuscripts of
the Old Testament in any language; the
oldest extant complete Hebrew texts date
to about 600 years later, from the first half
of the 10th century.
Ninth
There’s also historical and literary evidence that the Greek Septuagint was in wide use during the Christian period and beyond. Wiki says:
Greek scriptures were in wide use during
the Second Temple period, because few
people could read Hebrew at that time. The
text of the Greek Old Testament is quoted
more often than the original Hebrew Bible
text in the Greek New Testament
(particularly the Pauline epistles) by the
Apostolic Fathers, and later by the Greek
Church Fathers.
Tenth
Today, Biblical scholarship has a *critical edition* of the Septuagint. If it was destroyed in 48 BC, where did the critical edition come from? The Göttingen Septuaginta (editio maior) presents *a fully critical text* and should silence the skeptics and critics who try to mislead the public. They deliberately mislead the public by trying to discredit the far more reliable and much older Septuagint in order to get people to accept the much later Hebrew Masoretic text from the Middle Ages!

M (Myth): "There are few photos and videos of Queen in Puebla because people were unable to operate their photography or cinema devices because the batteries of their cameras or devices were confiscated." R (Reality): Most of the home photo cameras of the time were mechanical, they did not require batteries to take photos or operate the flash. Home cinema cameras for filming film (in Super 8 format) were expensive and rare. With the passage of time this material has been lost.
M: "By confiscating the batteries at the entrance to the Ignacio Zaragoza Stadium, there were few recorders available to record the concert on October 17 in Puebla." R: Hundreds of recorders were introduced that recorded the full audio of the concert.
M: "People were upset and threw batteries on stage thinking that Queen had given the order to resell those that had previously been confiscated, that was the strange explanation that the Argentine promoter José Rota gave to Jim Beach and Gerry Stickells, according to Peter. Freestone; that erroneous version is the one that has spread everywhere over the years ”. R: The Mexican knows of the corruption that exists in his officials and authorities, so it was not strange for them to resell the batteries previously confiscated inside the stadium, in this regard Peter Freestone (friend and personal assistant of Freddie) commented that the Argentinian promoter José Rota, was the one who told them that the anger of the people in Puebla was due to the resale of batteries.
M: “The concert was broadcast live on Radio Éxitos AM". R: The concert on Saturday in Puebla was not broadcast live on Radio Éxitos 790 AM, instead it took 78 min. Deferred from the Monterrey concert, due to that the concert in Puebla started late; of the concert on Sunday they spent an edition of about 60 minutes.
Photo Notes: Freddie at the Hotel Mesón del Ángel in Puebla, few people were able to approach to request the coveted autograph. 4 football helmets were ordered for Queen's protection for the Sunday concert. Roberto R. one of the interpreters from Puebla asked him to sign one of the helmets that were not used in the end. Faced with the request and feigning anger, Freddie commented: "The things you have to do for a helmet", a phrase similar to the one he said at the LP Live Killers concert, after playing Dreamer's Ball: "The things you have to do for money." (Photography: Ricardo Quintana)
Photo Notes: John Deacon posing smiling in front of American football helmets, on the terrace of the Hotel Mesón del Ángel on Sunday, October 18. They were purchased at the only sporting goods store open on Sunday in Puebla: Deportes Marti, by the 2 Puebla interpreters at the request of Jim Beach for Queen's protection, in the face of the projectile rain the day before. Fortunately it was not necessary wear them for the concert that day. (Photography: Ricardo Quintana / José L. Molina)
M: “A video of Queen in Mexico has been widely circulated on the internet." R: A vivales edited the video of Queen in Brazil, to which the audio of the concert in Puebla synchronized; it is easy to discover the deception, since in those images it is observed a giant screen that was not in the Ignacio Zaragoza Stadium, also Freddie wears blue knee pads that he did not wear in Puebla.
M: "There was a filming of Queen in Mexico made by Televisa but it was lost in the 1985 earthquake." R: In a telephone interview, Luis de Llano Macedo, a senior executive of Televisa, was asked what was true of the existence of a video of Queen in Mexico recorded by them; categorical stated that there is no such recording, nor was there any plan to broadcast something related to Queen in Mexico on TV.
M: "People were offended that Freddie wore a Zapatista hat." R: People were not offended that Freddie wore a Zapatista hat, and before that, famous personalities who visited Mexico wore typical hats as a way to empathize with Mexicans, such as the Apollo XI astronauts, Pelé or Pope John Paul II, and the people did not bother, on the contrary.
M: "Freddie made fun of people by wearing a Zapatista hat." R: Freddie was not racist for wearing a big hat, before, in an effort to empathize with different audiences, he used local elements, such as in Argentina, where he put on the shirt of his national team and even Maradona was invited on stage to present a song.
M: "There was a slam at the concert." R: The practice of slam was not known in those times, and there was no room for it.

Diabolik Lovers Zero Floor.2 Translation
Tumblr media
Another translation. If you find any mistakes, please let me know. Enjoy!   You can listen it here.
Track 1. Disappeared familiars *footsteps, crows cawing* Kou: We’ve come all this way, but this forest has no end. Looks like it’s getting denser and denser. It’s a bit dark here, so be careful. Don’t let go of my hand. Kou: Yeah, watch out. After all, you’re not used to walking in a demon world. Kou: Actually, this is my first time here. It looks like an unremarkable forest, but all the Ruki’s familiars disappeared here. There must be something here. Kou: Ha-ha, don’t be so scared. Your reliable lover is right by your side. Kou: I heard that a few magical creatures live in this area. Сome to think of it, if it were dangerous here, Ruki would have stopped us. Although sending me to explore the forest… Ruki works his younger brother too hard. Kou: He-he, well, yes, but I thought if I went, you would go with me too. And in the end it happened. We came here on our date under the guise of exploring. Kou: Yes, I know. I also wonder what happened here. Kou: It doesn’t look like Ruki’s familiars ran away. While we are on a date, we need to carefully explore everything. *crunch* Kou: Eh? What? M-kitten, you are a coward. You just stepped on a branch. Kou: Damn, it’s because you’re a coward. Are you too scared? You hurt my feelings when you scared in front of me. Kou: He-he, ok. If you give me your blood, I will forgive you. Kou: Yes, right here. Do not worry, we have walked so much, but we haven’t found any bats. It’s not dangerous here. Besides, you can do nothing on a date. Kou: We will continue the exploration when we finish. Well, what you say? Kou: Hee-hee, thanks. Then let’s get started right away. Nobody here but us now. It makes me happy to think that no one will disturb us. Kou: So where I should drink? From your neck? From your shoulder? From the upper arm? Ha, the wrist will do. Kou: What? I just ran my finger and you’re already trembling? You’re so cute, m-kitten. When you react so sincere, I want to tease you more, but I can’t stand it for long, so I will drink from the neck first. Kou: You know, your sweet scent strengthened. What, you wanted fangs? Kou: Oh, really? Well, okay. I can found out that by tasting the blood. *bites and drinks blood* [04:00] Kou: Ah, after all, your blood is sweet and tasty. But why is the taste richer than usual? And why do you have a sleepy look? Kou: If you can’t say, then let me tell you? You were very pleased when I stuck my fangs, right? More pleasant than when I drank blood at home. Apparently, you like to do dirty things when we’re deep in the forest. You’re so lustful, m-kitten. Kou: Eh? When you realize that you’re outside, you started wanting that more? Hmm, well, I’ll drink some more. Since my dear m-kitten asking me, I must fulfill her request. Where should I drink now? This trembling throat is so appetizing. Hey, look over here. *kissed* Kou: Ha-ha, you were surprised? But you like to kiss me, right? You have not only an obedient body but also a heart. I want to fill you with myself so that you don’t think about anything else. Kou: Heh, you finally trusted me. Or kisses wasn’t enough? You’re greedy, m-kitten. But don’t worry, I will carefully drink from here. The earlobe is so soft and comfortable to bite. It may be a little painful, but you don’t mind it? It would be more satisfying for you. Kou: Because I’m still good at teasing you. It is useless to pretend that you don’t like it. *bites and drinks* Kou: When I stick my fangs, your blood immediately becomes sweet. You still like pain. Kou: Hee, I know that. After all, your partner is me. Kou: You got so hot. Cutie. *kisses* Kou: How nice to flirt when no one bothers you. Where should I bite now? Kou: What, already? Well, nothing can be done. Then one last thing, ok? *kisses* Kou: Hmm, that’s all. And I won’t leave this wound without attention either. *kisses* Hm? I’m healing the wounds. But there’s still a red marks. Kou: Oh, come on. This is evidence that you are mine. Kou: I didn’t overdo at all. Besides doing this on a date is normal. Kou: Yes, I know. Let’s start exploring. But if soon we find nothing, then we will return home, ok? Ruki said that we don’t go further into the forest. Kou: Hm? What? *crow cawing* Kou: What’s that over there? [08:10] *door opens* Kou: Excuse me, is anybody here? No answer. Kou: Hmm, it looks like there are no visitors or staff. At the entrance was a sign says “Art Gallery”, but it’s pretty dilapidated, and probably no longer works. Maybe some aristocrat built it for his own pleasure, and then he lost interest and abandoned gallery. Although it’s strange that the candlesticks are burning. But the strangest thing is… portraits lined up in a dense row that covers a whole wall. Men, women, even children. There are so many… Is this normal? Someone has a terrible taste. Kou: I wonder if that huge portrait is the person who built this gallery? I never understood the tastes of aristocrats. And I don’t want to understand. Kou: Do you think so too, m-kitten? If you’re scared, then let's get out of here… but since we found this place, we probably should explore it too. Kou: M? What happened? Kou: What is it? You have a pale face, did you find something? Kou: What? How? Wait! That’s me? Why is my portrait hanging here? Kou: Eh? I think he looked at me. I saw something that shouldn’t. Kou: Yes, everything is okay. There are a lot of lookalikes, don’t worry so much. Let’s take a quick look and go back home, ok? I don’t want to stay here for long. Let’s go? *go away* Kou: It’s not often you come across people who look like me. Then what painting is that? Track 2. The pain that brings anger *door opens* Kou: M? Compared to the previous room, here is a completely different atmosphere. Despite the fact that there are also many paintings on the wall. Kou: M? Look over there! The picture is glowing! Apparently, it reflects the light from the candlesticks. Kou: Glass painting? Can it be made of glass? So that’s why it sparkles so much! Wow! Kou: What a… divine woman. That cathedral glass fits her very nicely. Hee-hee, maybe it’s strange to hear that from a vampire? Kou: And this picture is so cool! Beautiful color, as if a blue sky was captured in a picture. So elegant and very beautiful. Kou: You’re right. I thought portraits were the worst thing. But these are lovely. Kou: The gallery is bigger than I thought. It seems that glass paintings fill the entire hall far ahead. And their pale light is just wonderful. Kou: Yeah, I know! It’s sad that no one will come to see them. *fake Kou appears* Fake Kou: Same here. Kou: Eh? That’s impossible! Fake Kou: He-he, apparently I scared you. Although I expected that. Kou: Why me… Who are you? Fake Kou: As you can see, I’m you. Kou: It can’t be! Fake Kou: Ha-ha-ha! You’re so funny when you’re nervous. But I understand you. Anyone would get nervous when he met a man with exactly the same body, face, and eyes. Fake Kou: And your girlfriend turned as pale as a ghost. Perfect. I want to make her face twist even more. Fake Kou: What? How rude. Do you really not understand who I am? We recently met our gazes. Kou: Met gazes? That portrait? Fake Kou: Yes, you are right! I’m a portrait. I walked out of that picture and now stand here. Kou: Bullshit… Pictures can’t move… Fake Kou: Do you want to say that this is impossible? But the trouble is that’s possible. I’m moving right in front of you. Stop making that stupid face and accept the reality. But, you know, it’s unusual to see a vampire paired with a human. Who is this girl for you? And also this suffocating sweet scent… Ah, I wanted to bite her right now. [03:15] Kou: Hide behind me. And stay close to me. I don’t like him at all! Fake Kou: Hey, we just met and you’re being rude. But it’s okay. Today I’m in a good mood, so I will forgive you. Because such appetizing food came by here. The gallery is also happy. New paintings will be added to its collection. Kou: What are you talking about? Fake Kou: Oh, sorry, I didn’t tell you. This gallery is a bit special. Simply said, it’s alive. It feeds on visitors like you. Kou: Feeds on? Is this building alive? Fake Kou: Ha-ha, that face! You thought that living art galleries don’t exist? Erroneous guess. As evidence, there are records of eaten visitors. Do you saw a bunch of pictures when you came here? Kou: It can’t be! All those portraits… Were they all killed here? Perhaps Ruki’s familiars too? Fake Kou: Familiars? Are you talking about those bats with letters? A lot of them came to this forest, but as soon as they decided to hide from the rain in my territory, I enjoyed eating them all. I didn’t need their letters and I wanted to get rid of them. Here! *letters fall* Kou: Ah… Ruki’s letters… Fake Kou: Such being the case, I’ll eat you both. Kou: Run! *runs away* I can’t believe it, he ate Ruki’s familiars! He is dangerous! We must run away from here! *fake Kou teleported* Fake Kou: Uh-oh, stay where you are. Kou: What?! Fake Kou: Sorry, I can’t let you escape. Do you think you can get away from me? Kou: We will run away from you at all costs. Fake Kou: Oh, you pale as death, but behave like a hero. Maybe you’re trying to be cool, but, honestly, it looks pathetic. Besides, you are so carefully holding your food by the hand… Guys like you irritate me. Really irritates. Fake Kou: Oh, by the way. It seems that you liked that glass picture very much. Said it looks like a blue sky. Since you liked it so much, go to your favorite picture! *hit Kou, he bumps into the picture* Kou: Ahh! How dare you? Don’t underestimate me! Fake Kou: Actually, that’s my line. It seems you’ve touched the glass picture? Kou: Eh? *picture starts to suck in Kou * What? What is it? I’m drowning! Fake Kou: Ha-ha-ha! Surprised? These paintings can capture everything that touches them. And then you get trapped in a glass cage. Kou: AAA! [06:34] Kou: What is it? *hits the glass* It’s impossible… What is going on?! *run up to the picture* Don’t! Do not touch the glass! Fake Kou: Everyone who touch these pictures all together get sealed inside the glass picture with magic, so it is not so easy to break like ordinary glass. So I have nothing left but to catch you. Kou: Stop! Don’t touch her! Fake Kou: Ha-ha-ha! Aha-ha-ha! Nice to hear how you whining. But it pisses me off when someone crying too much. At such moments I can kill, breaking the picture. Fake Kou: He-he, you ask me to stop? If you really want me to stop, then be obedient. If you run away, he will remain here like this. *takes your hand* Fake Kou: So maybe feed you first? See that canvas over there? This is the mouth of the gallery. If you get inside the picture, you will be eaten. Kou: Stop! Fake Kou: He-he, you’ll melt like paint. *pushes you* Kou: Stop it!!! *sound of flow of electricity, picture pushes off you* Kou: What? Fake Kou: Ah? Why? Is picture pushed her away? Impossible… That never happened. It ate both demons and humans. *walk over to you, pick you up* Hey, answer! Apparently, this is your fault. What did you do? Fake Kou: You’re lying. You’re nervous, so you’re hiding something. You’re some kind of special, that’s why it couldn’t eat you. Oh, by the way, that sugary scent… It’s the scent of blood, right? You don’t look like an ordinary human. Fake Kou: Oh, that face… Am I correct? Oh, I see. You have special blood. In that case, if it didn’t work out this way, maybe I can eat you? Kou: Wait! Do you mean… Fake Kou: Of course, I’m talking about drinking blood. All blood. Kou: Damn! I’m not going to let you do that! *hits the glass* Fake Kou: Ah, listen. Do you even realize that space is created by magic? Whether you live or die is up to me. *use magic* Kou: AAAAA! Nh! Aah! * falls * Fake Kou: Ah, he fainted. If you had been a little bit smarter, you wouldn’t have suffered. *you start to resist* Fake Kou: I didn’t say you can resist. You vex me terribly. *press to the wall* You don’t get until you get pinned up against the wall like this? You are a food placed on a plate! Well, it troublesome so get down to business right away. Probably, I should drink blood from the neck. I’d like to know how you taste. *kisses* Fake Kou: Listen, you’re trembling. That’s funny. You’re so scared that I will drink your blood, even though I look exactly like him. Fake Kou: Hmm, so copy just the appearance is useless. Well, whatever. It’s very helpful to be in this form. After all, no one can kill an exact copy of himself or his friend. Even if it’s a portrait. That’s how I catching my prey. No one has escaped. And you also have nowhere to run. Fake Kou: You say that again? Then I will punish the naughty girl. Thrust fangs deeply and with all my strength into you. And make you writhe in pain. *bites and drinks blood* [11:26] Fake Kou: What is it? So sweet! He-he-he-heh, I can drink this delicious blood as much as I like. *resist* Haven’t you given up yet? How annoying. If you behave like this, then, probably, I can break him into pieces. Like this! *uses magic, breaks the glass* Fake Kou: Ha-ha! What a face! It was the neighboring picture! You thought he was really dead? Even stupid will understand that you shouldn’t go against me. Come on, say: “I won’t oppose you anymore. Do whatever you want to me.” Can you say that? Fake Kou: Ha, your frightened face is driving me crazy. Since you said that, I will reward you. I will drink harder than before. Maybe I should drink from the heart next? Then the blood will flow like a fountain. *you give him a slap* Fake Kou: Ha! So, you defy me again. Well, you’re such an idiot. Fake Kou: It’s too late to fix something. It remains only to train your body. Oh, right. Very handy. *took a piece of glass* Fake Kou: I’ll make wounds to you with this shard of glass. Fake Kou: Do you think you have the right to refuse? Actually, this glass has broken because of you. Aren’t you going to take responsibility for that? Fake Kou: Hmm, you want me to stop. He-he-he-he, I won’t stop. *tears clothes* He-he, what a fool you are. When you don’t like, I want to make even more unpleasant. Ah, clothes ripped to pieces. And the face is wet. The voice trembles and tears flow. But your tortured look is so exciting. Just so you know, for now, I’m only ripping clothes. The most fun is just about to start. Now I will shred all your body with this glass. Fake Kou: I guess, I’ll cut your arm first so that you can see. Look, if I put the glass on your arm and slowly move it… Fake Kou: Ha-ha, blood ran down. It smells good. But not feeling so sugary as before anymore. Apparently, when I take away your blood like this, you become an ordinary person. In this case, you can finally become a meal for the gallery. Rejoice. *blood is dripping* Fake Kou: Oh, blood is dripping. *drinks* Mh, such a small wound is not enough. I’ll gouge it with my fangs. I will dig them deep, really deep. Slowly and gradually. *bites and drinks blood* Fake Kou: Ah, the taste of blood has changed. Heh, bitterness is good too. Fake Kou: Ah? What? I can’t hear you. I can’t stop. I said from the very beginning that I would drink all of your blood to the last drop. Fake Kou: He-he, your pale face is so pathetic. Come on, this is not the end. Where should I drink now? Cry with pain as much as you can. If I get bored, I’ll kill you instantly. *drinks blood* Track 3. Your sweet scent. Fake Kou: Ah, finally the sweet scent started to fade. Looks like now you can be thrown in the canvas. Fake Kou: Aha-ha, you’re so tired. You were fighting like hell. But it’s your fault. If you were an ordinary human, I could throw in the picture and you immediately feel relieved. Kou: Mh… Ah… Run! *hits the glass* Faster! *hit again* Fake Kou: Ah? What, you are just now waking up? Unfortunately, this girl can no longer move. Besides, she says that she can’t escape. Kou: Ha… Why? Fake Kou: Hey, he asks why. Answer him. Kou: I don’t believe that… You should have left me and run. Kou: You say it again… You will never leave me… no matter what I do to you… no matter what. That’s why I liked you. Fake Kou: Hmm, good for you. So? What is this love scene all about? I’m sick of you and this girl. That’s right! I’ll show you something interesting. I will drink her blood in front of you. Kou: What?! *hits the glass* Don’t touch her! *hits the glass* Fake Kou: Shut up! Do you want to feel pain again? This glass won’t break, Don’t waste your breath. Watch with envy how I’ll drink all her blood. Fake Kou: Come on, scream in pain. So he feels everything. Kou: Stop it! *hits the glass* Let her go! *hits the glass* Fake Kou: I’ll bite off, so scream with your sweet voice. Kou: Let her go! *hits the glass, glass cracks* Fake Kou: What?! It can’t be! Kou: Let her go!!! *breaks the glass* Fake Kou: Impossible… The glass painting is broken! Kou: Ahh! Give me back my darling! *hits fake Kou* Fake Kou: Nh… Damn… Kou: Run! Don’t worry, I’ll hold you and run by myself. *pick you up* Let’s go! *ran away* [03:00] Kou: Everywhere you look, there are only glass paintings all around. It’s just like a maze. We can hide here, but the exit is nowhere to be seen. Kou: I think we lost him. Probably he loses sight of us. I’ll put you on the ground. *put down* Kou: Sorry… for not being able to save you right away. *you stroke him* Kou: Oh, that hand? Yes, it covered in blood, but I am a vampire. This is nothing. Although I have a strange sensation of pain because of the magic, forget about me. Bite marks were left on your arm. *kisses your hand* Kou: The taste has changed. Is it because he drank your blood? It’s just like you isn’t you anymore. Kou: Listen, when you were about to be thrown into the picture, I’m sure I’ve seen how the canvas pushed you away. As he said, your blood is special, perhaps it saved you. In this case, your current consciousness is in poor condition. Because your usually sweet scent weakens. If somebody tries to throw you into the picture again, then this time it will definitely work. Kou: Listen, let me drink your blood. You haven’t forgotten, have you? The more I drink your blood, the sweeter it becomes. In that case, he can’t throw you into the picture. I won’t let him take you away. I’m begging you. Kou: Thank you. Don’t worry, I’ll make you feel good, so leave everything up to me. Is he done that? This wound looks awful too. It hurts, right? Kou: You don’t have to act strong. I’ll remove his bite marks. I’m on it. *drinks blood* Kou: Feel good? Okay. Then I won’t hold back and corrupt you with these fangs, as I usually do. Kou: Good reaction. You are really greedy for pleasure. And sensitive to my words too. When I just move my hand across your body like this… Oh, look, you are already out of breath. Kou: Tch! I’m sorry, but keep your voice down. Hey, did you notice? The scent of blood starts to become sweeter. Well done! Forget everything, I’ll do everything. Kou: Now, maybe drink from the thin and soft inside of this wrist? But before that, I need to heal the wound on your arm. *kisses* Kou: Come on, keep your voice low. Was it feel good? Then I will move to the wrist like this. *kisses* Feel where I touch you. *kisses* Kou: Keep your voice down. Well done. But, probably, you can’t wait? You have tearful eyes. Kou: In that case, I will reward you for being a good girl, and drink the blood as you wished. I will slowly drink from the wrist. Feel how fangs sink into the flesh. *bites and drinks* [07:50] Kou: Ah… Sweet. And still rich. You look tired. Your breath became hot. Do you feel so good? It seems I can’t stop. And you are good at teasing me. And the final touch. Look at me. Open your eyes wide. *kissed* Kou: You look so greedy. You really greedy m-kitten, but put it off till later.   Kou: You’re back to normal. Again became the owner of the blood that seduces us. He should have smelled that scent. I’m sure he is heading here. Kou: Don’t panic. Listen, I will distract him, and you run to the exit. Kou: He won’t be able to immediately touch you, because he couldn’t throw you into the picture. I’m in his way, so he has to do something with me first. And you take a moment and run! Get out of here! If you can get in touch with Ruki and the others, they will save you. Kou: Me? No, I’ll figure something out. I catch him off guard and deftly run away from him. Kou: Eh… And why in those moments your intuition serves you well? You’re right. I don’t think I can beat him. Did you see all those portraits that adorn the walls? There were so many of them, and no one could get out of here. I’m crazy if I think that I will beat him, but I will let you run away. Kou: What other options do we have? Kou: Mh… Don’t give up, you say? Good words. You’ve told me this before. But in our situation, the two of us don’t… *someone’s footsteps* Ah! So you came. Track 4. I will choose freedom with these shackled hands. Fake Kou: Hi! Hide-and-seek is over. The sweet aroma became too strong and I immediately noticed it. Fake Kou: Right, thanks to the returned sweet scent that give off a strong smell. Hey, what that’s mean? Kou: Who knows. Fake Kou: Oh, is this your doing? Maybe I should have got rid of you before I start to eat her. In that case, I’ll hurt you even more. Fake Kou: “Stop it”, “do not”… I’m already tired of hearing that. Being a meal it’s all you’re good for, so shut up! That’s right! Too bad I have to waste it on you two, but I will use them. Look around! It is full of glass paintings! If they all break, their sharp pieces become weapons. Like this! *glasses cracks* Kou: Ha! Step back! *loud sound of glass shattering, shards burrowing into Kou* Ah! Kh… Ah… *falls* Fake Kou: Ha-ha-ha! You look like ragged clothes. Kou: Ah… I’m fine, so… you go away… Fake Kou: He-he, you’re all tattered, and you still want to protect her. I do not understand why you resist so much? Fake Kou: If gallery eats you, you’ll become beautiful paintings that will decorate it. Painted pictures always remain beautiful. What you don’t like? Kou: Remain beautiful? Fake Kou: Exactly! You can always enjoy a people who visited that gallery and now inside the frames. Is that not happiness? Rejoice, I will make you pride of this gallery. Kou: Inside the picture… forever… I want to cry from such a life. Fake Kou: Ah? Did you say something? Kou: We are not pictures! Lock people inside the picture, forever leaving them beautiful, and make out of them a work of art, decorating the gallery with them, only to please the eye… And you call this happiness? Are you kidding me! *stand up* I won’t let her go through that! Fake Kou: What is that insolent look? And in such a situation, you dare to talk to me so arrogantly. Kou: I dare! And I will say it again! Because I understand it better than anyone else! In the past, I was locked up in a more dilapidated place. I was beautiful, so they made me into a toy. And I wasn’t happy there. But it’s different now. I learned about the outside world, met her… fell in love… and finally find a way to live as who I really am. Freedom is better, even if it’s hateful, even if it’s unpolished, but it’s better than being locked up forever beautiful. Kou: You’re right, I can’t give up. We’ll be back home together and live happily again as before. I will never give up. Let’s get out of here together! Fake Kou: What? Are you stupid? You have no choice! You just have to be eaten by the gallery and become its exhibits. Kou: I don’t want to live with my head bowed in front of this musty gallery! Fake Kou: Tut! Know your place, food! *grabbed Kou* Enough! I won’t even feed you to the gallery. I lock you in a glass picture like before and smash it to smithereens! *press to the wall* Ha-ha, you’re out of breath! You just acted like a hero, but can’t free yourself from the hands that grab you. Kou: Nh… Ah… Cough… Damn… Fake Kou: And you stay there and watch how he will turn into glass pieces. And then I’ll drink plenty of your blood, and when you’re dry, I will feed you to the gallery. It’s a pity, but you tried so hard. Kou: Nh… That’s I… pity you… My fake! *pushes fake Kou* Fake Kou: Ha! Kou: The one who will be locked in a glass picture is you! *pushes, fake Kou he touches the picture* Fake Kou: Ah… Wait! *sucks into the picture* Kou: Sink into the picture! You don’t have to worry, I’m fine. It didn’t hurt so much. His carelessness saved me. Fake Kou: *hits the glass* Shit! How dare you fool me! I will torture you until you lose your mind! You will regret what you’ve done! Kou: Regret, you say? The light of candlesticks is reflected in the picture and sparkling. Now you’re locked in a picture, forever remaining beautiful, and become an exhibit… Tell me, do you feel happy there? Fake Kou: Shut up!!! I’ll get out of here right now! Kou: Even you realize that there is no happiness over there. Listen, if you break the glass picture, everything inside it will die? *approaches* Fake Kou: Ah… You… You can’t do this! You won’t kill yourself! You can’t kill me! Kou: I can. You are now is like a little me. I was kept in a cage, I was tormented, writhing… I was used for someone’s perverted pleasure. I constantly dreamed of that hell. But now it has come to an end. She put an end to this. So goodbye. Fake Kou: No… Stop! I can’t afford to end it here… *glass shattering* Ah… AAA! Kou: I can’t either. Kou: Sorry to keep you waiting. Can you go? We leave. *takes your hand* Kou: Yeah, it seems fine. I’m so happy. There is no way in hell I would let anyone lock you up. The blue sky fits you better than this dark place. Kou: Yeah, right. This place doesn’t fit me either. He really smashed to pieces. The glass may have shattered, but it still reflects the light. A beautiful thing even when it breaks remains beautiful. But it doesn’t look happy at all. Kou: So, let’s go home! Ruki… Everyone is waiting for us. *go away* Track 5. The portrait broke into pieces *Kou enters the room* Kou: End of report. Oh, I’m tired. *fall on the bed* Ruki was amazed at my story. Kou: Yeah, I could tell by his face that he couldn’t believe that paintings were moving. But after seeing the letters that we returned, it seems he believed me. He said that he would take measures so that no one else would become a victim of that gallery. If the familiars disappear again, there will be problems. Kou: And I felt relieved too. Well, he smashed to pieces, I think everything is fine. But still… ah… Kou: M? Just think that we were used. Our date turned into a nightmare. I probably got various psychological problems and for some time won’t be able to return to normal. Kou: Hmm… Hey, are you worrying about me so much? Then give me your blood. If you give me blood, I think my mind and body will recover. Okay? Kou: He-he, thanks. By the way, since we returned, we were busy and didn’t have time to talk. Haven’t you been waiting for that? Tell me where do you want me to drink? Kou: Eh? I haven’t done anything yet, and you’re already trembling. Just one my voice thrilled you? Your ears are really sensitive. Kou: Then I’ll start from ears. I wonder what will happen with sensitive m-kitten? *bites and drinks blood* Kou: He-he, your embarrassed voice get out. When I bite through your skin with my fangs, does it hurt? Or it feels good? Kou: No need to hide it, I will understand everything by the taste of blood. Sweet, rich and very tasty. Still, it’s exactly what you wanted. You are so lustful, m-kitten. Kou: Your eyes are wet. Now, there is just you and me, so you can be more open. Look, I’ll stroke your throat, and then you purr. You’re a cat, so ask me sweetly. *strokes you* Kou: He-he, now you’ve become obedient. Good. I will let you fully enjoy my fangs. I’ll slowly play with you. *bites and drinks* Kou: Blood became sweet again. Oh, you felt good. When you are swallowed up by pleasure, you are so cute. And the scent of blood quickly becomes sweet… Kou: Ah… Sorry, just remembered something. Listen, do you remember? When in the gallery you were about to be thrown into the picture, but it pushed you away. Kou: Then, I thought you were saved because of your special blood. When I think about this, it seems that gallery rejected you. I have a feeling that it realized that I didn’t want someone to take you away from me. Kou: He-he, but it’s unlikely. We are talking about that art gallery. Kou: Your smile, your tears, your embarrassed look - everything belongs to me. I won’t give you to anyone. No matter how difficult it would be, I won’t let this happen. I promise I will never give up again. Kou: Ah, I love you. Let’s always be together. *kissed*

The Great Falling Away... Welcoming The Signs Of The End Times
Falling Away....
The Bible indicates that there will be a great apostasy during the end times. The “great apostasy” is mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 The KJV calls it the “falling away,” while the NIV and ESV call it “the rebellion.” And that’s what an apostasy is: a rebellion, an abandonment of the truth. The end times will include a wholesale rejection of God’s revelation, a further “falling away” of an already fallen world.
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first. 2 Thessalonians 2:3. The Apostle did not want the brethren to confuse the Rapture of the Church with the Revelation of Jesus Christ when He comes to set up His kingdom. God’s Word tells us that certain events will transpire before Christ establishes His kingdom on earth. “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day [the day of Christ] shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Here the Bible tells of the sign of the coming of the Antichrist—apostasy. As we look at Christendom today, we see in many circles a departure from the faith, people turning away from God and holiness, often “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5). The falling away includes many who deny the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and deny that He is the divine Son of God. Some professing Christians have grown lukewarm, linking hands with the world. However, the Word says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15). This “mystery of iniquity” (2 Thessalonians 2:7) was already working in the days of the Apostles, but there was, and is, a hindering power—the Holy Spirit in His present office as the reprover of the world and gatherer of the Church. When this restraining One is taken from the world at the Rapture of the Church, then the Antichrist will be revealed.
Referring to the false teaching he mentioned in verse 2, Paul tells the Thessalonians not to allow anyone to deceive them concerning the day of the Lord. Obviously, some of the Christians at Thessalonica had fallen victim to an erroneous teaching: that the day of the Lord was already in progress. Paul explains in this verse that it will not begin until two events transpire.
First, there will be "the rebellion." This likely means an overt and extreme revolt against truth. The word translated "rebellion" can also be translated, "the falling away," "the apostasy," or "the departure." The use of a definite article—"the" in English, from hē in Greek—attached to the word for "rebellion" indicates a specific event previously mentioned in the passage. It may refer to Israel's revolt against Old Testament teaching when the nation turns to idolatry. Perhaps it refers to the state of the world following the departure of the church due to the rapture. It is noteworthy that Paul describes the rapture in verse 1 as "the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathering together to him."
The second event Paul mentions in verse 3 is the appearance of "the man of lawlessness," "the son of destruction." God will punish the man of lawlessness by consigning him to eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20–21).
Throughout history there have been many times when more people chose wickedness than righteousness. When this happens, people often live without prophets or priesthood authority for a time. The Great Apostasy happened after people rejected and tried to change the pure truths and organization of the Church established by the Savior. The first to speak of apostasy in the end times was the Lord Jesus Himself. He prophesied that in a coming time of tribulation this would be seen in a particular way, “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people” (Matt 24:10-11). The same word is used in the parable of the sower and the four soils. From the seed that falls in stony places, it says: “But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away” (Matt 13:21). Although the Word of God has had some effect on them, they fall away as soon as there are problems. The Lord Jesus called deception one of the most important end-time signs before His coming in glory. It is the only sign that is repeated three times in Matthew 24 (verses 4-5, 11, 23-26). And, although the culmination of the seduction will come in the last great tribulation period, we already see the harbingers of it. Elsewhere Paul says, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Tim 4:1). Or, “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God” (Heb 3:12). And, in 2 Timothy 4:4, in the context of warnings about the end times, Paul declares: “And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” Christianity as a whole not only includes the true believers in Jesus Christ, but also all those who call themselves Christians culturally, but do not believe in their hearts. The whole West and many other parts of the world were influenced by Christianity and the Bible. We see this in history, literature, laws, habits, education, values and traditions, art, and in many other things…even in the division of our era into BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini, “in the year of our Lord”). It is frightening to see just how much has been lost in the last decades. Christian values are becoming a “scandal,” a motivation for mockery, contempt, and even persecution. Unfortunately, even true believers can be influenced by these worldly tendencies. In the context of 2 Timothy, Paul warns against a very dangerous time. If we now want to know whether the coming of the Lord is near, all we have to do is read the last words of the apostle Paul. In the second letter to Timothy, which could also be described as his will, the apostle shows the qualities that will characterize people in the end times. He introduces the subject with a grave warning: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” (2 Tim 3:1). The qualities the apostle now begins to mention are not much different from those in Romans 1, where people are generally described who want to know nothing of God. Why, then, this serious warning? Not because the danger of the “last days” originates with people who are far from God, but because these evil qualities are visible where many consider (or considered) themselves Christians. The sexual and feminist revolution made fornication and infidelity something worth striving for, an expression of supposed authenticity and true love. The deliberate rejection of Christian thought exploded: on the one hand, more and more people turned to Eastern and demonic religions in their search for meaning; and on the other hand, the theory of evolution increasingly received the status of religious dogma. The decline in ethical reasoning has developed far-reaching consequences in the moral behavior of many. Drug use grew out of control. Open Satanism became “cool” (with the threadbare justification, “We don’t really believe in the devil”). All of this perverted so-called Christianity as never before. Some of the effects of this large-scale apostasy can be seen in 2 Timothy 3. When Paul speaks of the “last days,” he already means the time of Timothy (v. 5). But it is evident that the falling away has reached an unprecedented peak today. Paul starts with “lovers of their own selves.” The people of the end times are egocentric, selfish, and boastful. That is the essence of sin. The center of these self-loving people is themselves. It is the realm of the ego. And when the ego rules, there is no room for others. We see this today in many ways. Everything is about oneself, about self-discovery, about “my identity.” “I believe,” “I think,” “I want” is more important than the will of God. For self-loving people, there is no time for God and His interests. At most, He gets what still remains after the ego has been fulfilled. A profane proof of this development is self-portrayal online. We’ve become a selfie-society, where the big ego always appears first in the picture. This self-love is also expressed in an oversized love for one’s own body. Anyone today who doesn’t feel comfortable with it at best covers it with tattoos, undergoes cosmetic surgery, or, in the worst case, changes their sex. This self-love, in which man stands alone in the center and thinks himself the highest authority in heaven and earth, has long since infiltrated the churches. The feel-good theology of our time says, “God wants you to feel good. So only do what makes you feel good. It has to be right for you.” It gives license to do everything that brings fun, pleasure, or enjoyment. Whether it agrees with God’s Word is no longer important. Biblical principles such as devotion, being living sacrifices (Rom 12:2), or abstinence (Gal 5:24) are no longer modern and are barely heard from the pulpits. A steep falling away is occurring. Roman Catholics are now led by a Pope who denies cardinal doctrines and demonstrates his love for creation above the Creator. Protestants are led by mostly non-educated, self-centered, money-hungry false prophets whose only good use is to provide fodder for the Babylon Bee. Meanwhile, people in the pews are checking out, and this will only increase in the wake of the coronavirus. The mainstream media, once they start paying attention to the weakness of the modern church, will mount an all out attack. It is already beginning: "Some experts think the coronavirus could reshape the country's religious landscape and wipe out many small houses of worship." -- Washington Post, 04/24/20 This they said, I think, with glee. In spite of the fact that the Pope and the megachurch pastors get most of the religious press coverage in the world, the most common expression of the visible church is the small church, with 50-100 in regular attendance. If these can be wiped out, Christianity will be wiped out. But we will not fall or fail. The gates of Hell, the power of politics, and the mainstream media cannot stand against us. The best and strongest example of real, biblical Christianity will always be found in the small, Reformed, church. It is here that the Pastors and Elders and Deacons and Members know one another, love one another, help one another, and hold one another accountable. It is here that the Five Solas and the Doctrines of Grace provide a sure and solid theological foundation. It is here where the best defenses exist against the world, the flesh, and the devil. When it is time to come back to church, look for a small church sign in your community. It is a sign of the times. It is here you can find God, and find grace, to sustain you until the day you die, or until Christ comes again, whichever comes first.

‘Palestine is Still the Issue’: UN Vote Exposes, Isolates Hypocrite Canada
Tumblr media
— By Ramzy Baroud & Romana Rubeo | The Milli Gazette Online | August 21, 2020
The notion that ‘Canada is better’, especially when compared with US foreign policy, has persisted for many years. Recent events at the United Nations have, however, exposed the true nature of Canada’s global position, particularly in the matter of its blind and unconditional support for Israel.
On June 17, Canada lost its second bid for the coveted UN Security Council seat, which, had it won, would have allowed Ottawa the opportunity to become a world leader, pushing its own agenda - and those of its allies - on the global stage.
However, this, too, was a wasted opportunity. Only 108 countries voted for Canada while 130 and 128 voted for Norway and Ireland respectively. Both these countries will be admitted to the Security Council, starting January 1, 2021.
What is striking about Canada’s missed opportunity is that it was in retribution for Canada’s bias towards Israel, at the expense of Palestine, international and humanitarian laws. Over the last twenty years alone, for example, Canada has voted against 166 resolutions supporting Palestinian rights, says Canadian author and human rights advocate, Yves Engler.
Moreover, Canada has lobbied - and continues to lobby - against the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation of war crimes in Palestine. Along with Germany, Austria and others, Canada has challenged the ICC’s jurisdiction on the matter, erroneously alleging that Palestine is not a State.
Shortly before the June vote on new Security Council members was held, a group of human rights activists circulated a letter to all UN members, detailing Canada’s poor record on Palestine. “Despite its peaceful reputation, Canada is not acting as a benevolent player on the international stage,” the letter read.
It added, “Since coming to power, the Justin Trudeau government has voted against more than 50 UN resolutions upholding Palestinian rights, even though they have been backed by the overwhelming majority of member states.”
Among the signatories of the letter were renowned American intellectual, Noam Chomsky, famed rock star, Roger Waters and former Quebec National Assembly member, Amir Khadir.
The vote against Canada at the UN was understood to be a stance against Ottawa’s position on Israel and Palestine, despite Canada’s Ambassador to the UN, Marc-Andre Blanchard, going on the defensive in a desperate attempt to dissuade member states from voting against his country.
In a letter sent to all member states, Blanchard argued that an earlier document written by “a group of Canadians regarding Canada’s position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict ... contains significant inaccuracies and characterizes Canada’s longstanding policy positions”.
This succession of actions is unprecedented in recent years, where a country like Canada loses the respect and support of other UN member states largely due to its failure to respect the rights of the Palestinian people. To better understand the significance of this event, we spoke to Yves Engler, who played a direct role in championing the Palestinian cause and pushing for Canadian accountability at the United Nations.
Engler has also authored several books, among them “Canada and Israel: Building Apartheid” and “Left, Right: Marching to the Beat of Imperial Canada”.
“It is important for people to realize that this anti-Palestinian position that Canada pursues today is not new. It is grounded in at least a century of Zionist policy in this country,” Engler said.
The UN Vote
Explaining the context of the June UN vote, Engler said that “the current Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, who is a liberal politician, expended a lot of energy into winning that seat; he undertook a huge campaign, called dozens of leaders around the world, lobbied very hard for that seat but, on the first round of voting, Canada was defeated resoundingly by Ireland and Norway.”
Engler added, “In my mind, there was no issue that contributed more to Canada’s loss in its bid for a Security Council seat than its anti-Palestinian record. And, more specifically, its voting against UN General Assembly resolutions that almost the entire world supports, isolated Canada with the US, Israel, Micronesia, and maybe one or two other countries.”
The Canadian setback at the UN should be directly attributed to grassroots activists and intellectuals like Engler.
“Activists’ groups - that I was part of - exposed records spanning the past two decades of the Canadian government voting consistently against the UN General Assembly resolutions. It voted against 166 UN General Assembly resolutions over the past twenty years. In comparison, Ireland and Norway did not vote against a single one of those UN General Assembly resolutions.”
The Media Lobby
“But how did Canada become pro-Israel?” we asked Engler.
“There is a very well-organized, pro-Israel lobby in Canada that is able to exert its influence over the media,” Engler said. “For instance, the pro-Israel group, ‘Honest Reporting Canada’, concentrates on criticizing every media source that expresses even a hint of solidarity with the Palestinian cause.”
However, compared with the dynamics of Israeli influence over Washington, Canada is quite different. Unlike the US, Engler continues, “Canada has much clearer restrictions on the funding of politicians, so there is nobody like Sheldon Adelson who gives a couple of hundred million dollars to Donald Trump which, then, sway Trump to adopt even more extreme anti-Palestinian positions. This dynamic does not exist in Canada, but the dominant media has always been sympathetic to the Zionist movement.”
Encouragingly, pro-Palestinian sentiment in Canada has grown over the last twenty years or so, to become a large network, an organized movement in its own right, which has, according to Engler, to “some extent, countered the dominance of the Zionist narrative.”
Canadian media, however, is still unwilling to challenge Israel’s power in the country, leaving the stage open to “pro-Israel groups ... to attack pro-Palestinian activists.” “There is an incredible amount of trepidation, even in the pro-Palestinian movement, of being labeled as anti-Jewish,” Engler said.
Grassroots Activism
Similar to the trend in other western countries, pro-Palestine groups in Canada are small, diverse and organized at grassroots levels. These groups “tend not to be particularly well-founded or institutionally strong, while the pro-Israel side is far better organized.”
Yet, despite the pro-Israeli influence in government and media, “polls show, repeatedly, that the public is increasingly sympathetic to the Palestinian cause than what appears in the dominant media or in the official protocol. A recent poll has revealed that Canadians are very sympathetic towards boycotting Israel for violating international law.”
A March 2017 poll indicated that 78% of all Canadians believe that “BDS is reasonable”. Engler sees much hope in these numbers, referring to them and to the vote at the UN as “small victories.”
The growing pro-Palestinian sentiment is now also seeping into politics. Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent decision to annex nearly a third of the occupied Palestinian West Bank, 57 members of parliament strongly protested this decision, demanding action from their government should Tel Aviv proceed with its illegal measures.
The change is far more rewarding within labor unions in the country than in politics. “Forty years, ago... unions were aggressive in their support of Zionism; today, this is no longer the case, as many unions have passed resolutions supporting BDS campaigns.”
While Canada’s support for Israel is, to a certain extent, consistent with Canada’s own colonial past and present interventionist foreign policy, the Canadian people and the international community remain major obstacles, challenging the toxic affinity between Ottawa and Tel Aviv.
The hope is that the growing pro-Palestinian tide, predicated on respect for international law and human rights, will eventually prevail in order to sever the Canada-Israel rapport permanently, and allow Canada to earn its place as a global leader.

Juniper publishers -Option of Online Internet Medical Consultations for the Elderly
Journal of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine-JuniperPublishers
Tumblr media
Editorial
Online consultations with geriatrician can be a good option for elderly patients, if the doctor on at the other end is quite experienced and can give some of his or her precious time for online consultations. Essentially, the doctor at the other end must be sufficiently updated with the current medical literature, knowledgeable, polite, non-judgmental, not overtly patronizing, and will know and respect his or her limits on the subject. Being prepared to follow up with the elderly patient could be all the more better. There are some free sites online, and the others are paid sites where one has to sign up and pay. Getting prescriptions may not be possible in many parts of the world, as one is not actually 'seeing' the patient as such, and has not performed a detailed clinical examination to rule out or confirm a problem. Nevertheless getting an advice is possible, which could be helpful for the following reasons:
(a) To ignore a symptom or not (even if it happens to appear as a minor problem), especially at odd hours, or being far away from a medical facility, or the necessity of having to skip an important or urgent work, etc
(b) From evaluating current symptoms to reviewing test results and offering second opinions.
(c) To explore possible differential diagnosis & preventive aspects
(d) To get outline of the possible steps, treatment options, and further management
(e) To get more insight of the problem or morbidities that the elderly may have
(f) To get some genuine views and advice about possible misses and gaps in investigations, treatment, etc.
(g) Care givers can upload documents, x-rays, scans, MRI, lab reports, etc, and get a fair idea of the prognosis and any pitfalls, etc
(h) Compare medicines, and decide what could be the best choices for their elderly patients
(i) Whether to check in immediately with a doctor, or it can wait
(j) Can get suggestions for some OTC medicines for minor problems
(k) Can get suggestions for when one or more medicine is unavailable
Telemedicine and e-health have been suggested as additional measures in management of health, and in implementation of various government run programs. Left to individual choice, there has been not much advance in these modalities, where primarily the individuality is lost, and at times suggestions & advices could be taken as something being dished out unseen and therefore lacking that personal touch. At times the necessary responsibility and accountability on both sides may be lacking. Patient does not know how much to tell, and what all to tell, and may have certain reservations.
If the telemedicine, e-health or internet consultations are being provided by government resources, then the quality, punctuality, reliability, responsibility, etc, need to be deliberated upon. On the other hand, there are many private sites available over the internet. For a patient to differentiate one from another when in need would be quite a deal, and simply put this will be confusing. Getting fleeced off money is somewhat different, whereas getting erroneous or an incorrect advice at a crucial time may turn out to be costly on the health.
So, what can be done? Seeking online medical consultations from reliable online resources and background would be a good option, especially for the elderly. Best option would be for the governments around the globe to plan and start building up meticulously planned and managed internet web sites. All specialists should be available at all times 24 X 7. For this more number of doctors will have to be trained to become specialists and super-specialists, and be given their proper dues, satisfactory remunerations, respect, etc, so as to accept the round the clock availability on the internet. Online translations or availability of translators should be ensured for this facility to be really helpful to everyone. For example Japanese, Mandarin, Russian, Scandinavian, Latin, Tamil, etc, is not understood by everyone, and therefore any such facility will fall flat for those elderly people if what they say or ask is not being understood properly, or being misunderstood.
Presence of specialists and super-specialists from all fields of medical sciences would be ideal. Otherwise ensuring availability of specialists in Geriatrics, and / or Family Medicine could be suitable alternative. By virtue of their training and adequate knowledge about diseases and morbidities of the whole body, and especially of the elderly population, they are the best around to understand and capable to handle any problem. They are not super-specialists, and will have their handicap on that front. We feel that any well trained and well qualified Geriatrician or a specialist in Family Medicine would be handle nearly 95 percent of the queries online with élan, and can also help the remaining 5 percent as best as they can. Individual reputation and feedbacks could also be taken as guides for making choices. This subject was presented by the prime author at the Annual Conference of the "Commonwealth Medical Association" in Sept 2012, where he was one of the invitees and also the Chairman of their first Scientific Session. He had covered the plight of elderly,&  especially the incapacitated who will continue to need special care and support.
This way we can perhaps reduce costs of healthcare, reach farthest and inaccessible corners, and can cut across all barriers of race, cultures, and economic levels. Timely and correct advice, pruning of costs & wasteful expenditures will be of considerable help. Health insurance and legal issues must not be restraining, and should instead try and open up avenues for help and in not letting the costs to overrun. Geriatricians and Family Medicine specialists must not feel unduly restrained or constrained due to terms and laid down conditions in health insurance and other legalities. Managing the 'big 4', namely the cardiovascular diseases (including heart diseases and stroke), diabetes, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases (including COPD and asthma), should be prioritized as these 'big 4' contribute 80% of the total mortality from NCDs. Availability of real time data, remote monitoring, remote diagnosis and follow up care, which are newer developments, can be added on for more benefits. This  new trend and facility of online medical consultations through internet has the potentials of adding a much needed succor for elderly patients. Finally, it must be remembered that internet consultations cannot be true substitutes for actually checking in with a doctor.

Google Analytics is an excellent tool, but it is not perfect. In Gaurav Digital we use it every day, and that's why we decided to translate the following analysis that Tom Capper did for Search Engine Land about the data gaps in Analytics. Here, the first part about  ad blockers and browsers with "no track" option.
Analytics black holes
If you have ever compared two Analytics implementations in one place, or if you have compared your Analytics with what your company is reporting in sales, you have probably noticed that things do not always coincide. In this publication we will explain why there is a lack of data in the web analysis platforms and how big the impact could be. Some of these problems are fairly easy to address and have a decent impact on traffic. There has never been an easier way to achieve your quarterly goals. We will focus on Google Analytics because it is the most commonly used provider. But most on-page analysis platforms  have the same problems. Platforms that depend on server logs avoid some problems, but they are quite rare; We will not cover them in depth.
Reason 1: Ad Blockers
The Ad Blockers, mainly as browser extensions have been growing in popularity for some time. More than anything, this has had to do with users looking for better performance and user experience on sites full of ads. In recent years the emphasis on privacy has also increased: that is why the possibility of analytical blockade.
Effects of  Ad Blockers
Some ad blockers block web analysis platforms by default and others can be configured to do so. We tested with Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin, two of the most popular ad blocking desktop browser add-ons. Also, it's worth noting that ad blockers are becoming more frequent on smartphones. So it went to the configurations we tested:
It would seem that the configurations have not served much!
Data lost by  ad blockers: ~ 10%
The use of  ad blockers can range from 15-25% depending on the region, but many of these facilities will be default configurations of AdBlock Plus. As we have seen previously, they do not block tracking. The estimates of the AdBlock Plus market share among ad blockers vary from 50 to 70%, and the most recent reports tend more towards the former. Therefore, if we assume that, at most, 50% of the ad blockers installed block the analysis, that leaves their exposure around 10%.
Reason 2: browsers with "do not track" option
This is another function motivated by privacy, but this time from the browsers themselves. You can enable it in the configuration of most current browsers. It is not mandatory for sites or platforms to obey the "do not track" request, but Firefox offers a stronger function with the same set of options, which we have also decided to try.
Effects of "do not track"
Most browsers now offer the option to send a "do not track" message. We have tested the latest versions of Firefox and Chrome for Windows 10.
Again, it does not seem that the adjusted settings are doing a lot of work for us here.
Data lost due to "not tracking": <1%
Only the "Tracking Protection" of Firefox Quantum, introduced in February, had some effect on our crawlers. Firefox has a 5% market share, but Tracking Protection is not enabled by default. The launch of this feature had no effect on the trend of Firefox traffic in our test. In the second part of the article we will talk about the filters and Google Tag Manager vs on-page.
Reason 3: Analytics filters
It's a bit obvious, but the filters you've set up in your Analytics can intentionally reduce (or not) the reported traffic levels. For example, a filter that excludes certain niche screen resolutions that you create (perhaps without sufficient reasons) that are mainly bots or internal traffic. These cases, obviously, will cause your configuration to not be reported correctly.
Impact of data loss by filters?:
The impact is difficult to estimate: the configuration will obviously vary site by site. We recommend having a "master" view duplicated and unfiltered in case you realize too late that you've lost something you did not intend to lose.
Reason 4: GTM vs. on-page vs.On-page poorly implemented
Google Tag Manager has become an increasingly popular way to implement analysis in recent years, due to its great flexibility and the ease of making changes. However, we have noticed for some time that you may have to report fewer on-page configurations. We were also curious about what would happen if we did not follow Google's guidelines when setting up the code on the page. By combining our numbers with the site numbers of a colleague who uses a Drupal and GTM add-on, we could see the difference between Google Tag Manager and a badly implemented on-page code (just at the bottom of the <body tag>). We ponder this with our own Google Tag Manager data to get an overall picture of the 5 settings.
Effect of GTM and poorly implemented on-page codes
Traffic as a percentage of the baseline (standard implementation of Google Tag Manager):
How Much Data is Missing from Analytics and Other Analytics Black Holes Moz
There are some main points here:
The on-page code usually reports more traffic than GTM.
The modified code usually has a margin of error; A separate case is the modified GTM code in Internet Explorer (see note below).
The badly located Analytics code will cost you up to a third of the traffic compared to the correctly implemented on-page code, depending on the browser (!).
Custom configurations, which are designed to get more traffic by avoiding ad blockers , are not doing anything like that.
It is also worth noting that custom implementations actually got less traffic than implemented. For the on-page code, this is within the margin of error, but for GTM there is another reason (because we use unfiltered profiles for comparison, there is a lot of spam bots in the main profile, which mainly masquerades as Internet Explorer. We also divide the data by devices:
How Much Data is Missing from Analytics and Other Analytics Black Holes Moz
Apparently mobile browsers, such as Internet Explorer, may have difficulties with Google Tag Manager.
Data lost by GTM: 1-5%
On our colleague's site, the impact of poorly implemented code was around 7.5% vs. the GTM. Taking into account that the GTM itself presents erroneous reports, the total loss could easily be within 10%.
Bonus: lost data from channels
We have focused on areas where data may be missing altogether. However, there are also many ways in which data may be misrepresented, or details may be missing. The main problem is dark traffic.
Dark traffic
Dark traffic is direct traffic that did not really come via direct (and that is becoming increasingly common). The typical causes are:
Email campaigns without labels.
Campaigns in applications without labels (especially Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Organic poorly represented.
Data sent from failed tracking implementations (which can also appear as self-referrals)
It is also worth noting the trend towards genuinely direct traffic that, historically, would have been organic. For example, due to the increasingly sophisticated browser autocompletes, the history of various devices, etc., people end up "typing" a URL that they would historically have searched for.

An Interview with local musician Connor O’Keane
I’m sat on a balcony overlooking Elizabeth St. I’d promised my interviewee a quiet dumpling place where we could chat and eat, but the quiet little dumpling store has since become a rather booming Thai place. So instead we’re eating Nando’s and listening to loud Peruvian music. But that’s sort of why I wanted to interview Connor, to talk about Melbourne and how fast it’s moving and growing, especially the music scene.  We’d previously worked together on a short film “Chuck Baritone” that we entered into a local film festival (it of course won Best Short Film, but that’s beside the point). We’ve since stayed in contact and encouraged each other creatively. I would attend his band’s heavy metal shows at smoky pool halls in the middle of nowhere, and he would indulge me when I needed someone creatively accomplished to interview for a class.
“I’ve lost my questions” I tell him as I search my bag for the questions I’d written in a mad rush half an hour earlier. He laughs when I erroneously compare myself to Robert Frost (I meant David Frost of course) and we imagine the Frost/Nixon interviews would’ve been very different if they were conducted in a busy Nando’s to a Peruvian sountrack, as David Frost frantically searched his backpack. This is why I chose to interview Connor, he’s an effortless conversationalist with a quick wit and easy laugh.
Music is of course his first and most enduring love, but it was through filmmaking that I met him, and I can attest he’s passionate about that too. I ask, if there’s a relation between the two in his mind. If his love for music somehow translates to his his passion for filmmaking. After all, they are both creative pursuits. “My favourite movies, like my favourite albums are the ones that have a visceral quality […] some sort of heavy metal aesthetic to the way it’s shot, of the way it’s edited. Especially the way it’s edited.” I decide to flex my cinematic chops here and ask a question that’s a bit of a stretch. The way a movie is edited sets the pace of the film to a degree, in much the same way the drummer of a band sets the beat to which the band plays. Is that perhaps why he’s so drawn to editing? Is there a relation between the two? “You can see why playing this beat has one feel, and then adding ‘double kick’ to it has another feel and it makes it feel more visceral,” he tells me and I ask if that translates to editing, to the pace of things, “Yeah I think so. Yeah, yeah.”
We’re only a couple of questions in and I’ve already lost my place, have I asked “what attracted you to filmmaking” yet? He tells me I haven’t, so I ask him to just imagine I had, and answer as such. He says that he often thought he’d be a children’s author when he was younger, because he just liked to write jokes. Then later he was drawn to stand-up comedy, because again, he just liked writing jokes. In high school he tells me, he was instantly attracted to dialogue, but everything else was rushed. He smiles as he mentions a “really cool” English teacher he once had, that told him if he just wanted to write dialogue for a creative piece, he should submit a script instead. The desire to write scripts turned into a desire to seem them made, and thus, a filmmaker was born. But he reminds me, music will always be his first passion.
Connor’s first gig, a local council youth event was a quiet affair. I know because I was in attendance, it was an event that promised free pizza and great music. I was too late for the free pizza and, a part of me suspects, the great music. But he’s come a long way since then he tells me, having played between 35 and 40 shows in the last three years. Yet, despite having played some of the most iconic venues in Melbourne – Cherry Bar springs to mind – it’s a smoky pool hall in Lilydale that holds his affections. “The people down there really dug what we were doing.” he says. And that seems to be a theme throughout the metal scene. One would expect a horde of black leather clad, spiky collared (to borrow a word from Connor) “punters” to be an intimidating lot, but that’s not at all the case. The metal scene thrives on fresh blood he tells me, “I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the music especially, and just how supportive everyone is.” Connor rails off a list of names of people in other bands that have shared his latest song, or helped him produce his latest single, or just sent him kind words over facebook. There’s no attitude of elitism, or competitiveness.
“For the longest time I just thought I wasn’t a music person” Connor tells me, and I’m more than a little surprised. For reference, Connor is the drummer in two heavy metal bands, host of a heavy metal podcast and the only person I know who still buys CDs. And certainly the only person who bought a Sony Discman in the 21st century (so he could listen to CDs he’d bought immediately). But if there were two things responsible for starting his musical career, it’d be his dad, a seasoned Jazz drummer and video games. “I learned the basics of drumming, keeping time and stuff from my dad at 8” he tells me “But I didn’t touch that for years until I was 15 or 16 […] when the Guitar Hero games brought drums into the mix.” The Guitar Hero games have never really been my forte, but I know enough to follow his reasoning. The object of the game is to play along with the tracks on a toy instrument, keeping time and not missing notes. When you play the guitar in these games, that just means strumming along with a plastic toy and holding any of six coloured buttons (meant to emulate the frets of a guitar). But it’s much harder to game-ify the drums. “You’re literally playing every hit” he says, before taking me through a technical rundown of the composition of an electric drum kit. I quickly exhaust my knowledge of drums, and bow to his greater wisdom here, as we move onto his heroes and inspirations.
He lists off a few drummers and I ask if Lars Ulrich, of Metallica fame is his hero. It was a bit of cheap shot, I admit, knowing that Ulrich is a controversial figure in the metal world. Too often outspoken and regularly criticised for his drumming skills. But Connor doesn’t flinch from the question. “He’s a fucking good performer. He’s a really good entertainer. If you want to see someone rock the fuck out […] watch Lars, he knows how to make people go nuts”. I can’t really argue with that, and it’s obvious why Ulrich, who began teaching himself drums at the age of 16 holds so much of Connor’s admiration.
While we’re on the topic of self-trained musicians, I mention to Connor a video I saw recently of a woman who taught herself the violin and how fantastic I thought she was, but that the top comment on her video was from a concert violinist. Evidently, she’d learned some bad habits, her posture was wrong, her stance, the way she ran the bow along the strings. Is it hard, I ask, to teach yourself and to unlearn your own bad habits?
“The hardest part I think, is recognising that you are getting better,” he tells me “I’ll be practising nowadays and trying to get really fast with my feet and I’ll be going ‘fuck I can’t do this, I can’t go this fast, have I hit a wall in terms of how good I’m going to get?’ then I remember I thought the same thing about playing triplets with my feet, or playing up to the speed I can now.” It’s a nice sentiment, and one I find myself mirroring occasionally, but what about his habits? “I don’t think I’ve picked up bad habits,” he stresses, “I think I’ve just started with incorrect technique and stuff.” Often he tells me, for a drummer that’s self-trained, at least in his own experience, the best way to learn good habits is just trial and error. It can take hours of practise to learn that a certain motion is more in the forearm than the wrist and the same, he tells me, applies to “feet stuff”. But is there a wrong way to play? What is the correct technique for a heavy metal drummer? Connor’s answer to that: “Whatever sounds bitchin’.”
