Something for the whole family to enjoy... " Join an aquarium educator for a guided interpretive walk along the Jay Wolf Nature Trail at the UGA Aquarium! The trail winds through maritime forest with winding live oaks and Spanish moss as well as salt marsh habitats. Listen to birds singing in the forest canopy and witness squareback crabs scurrying across the trail. Learn about the natural and human history that shaped this landscape, how to identify a few local plants and look for animal tracks along the trail. Walks on the trail this spring will pass by a recent prescribed burn in a loblolly pine habitat, which will promote ecological health. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to observe succession, or the process of a biological community changing over time, as new plants start to take root and grow in the open space.
