Introducing Sirius!

My incredibly lazy appaloosa gelding! He is such a special horse to me, I took lessons on him for a long time and finally his owner, Jen, was ready to part with him and sold him to me.

He's semi-retired at 20 years old, we mostly just to pleasure riding and hit the trails from time to time. In his younger years he loved to jump and still does, but his knees aren't what they used to be and now we limit him to smaller jumps, usually nothing over 24 inches.

Sirius also has moonblindness, as seen in the second photo above. He's completely blind in that eye but he is still able to do everything a horse with complete vision can.

Hi everyone!! So this is my first post, I hope it turns out pretty good. I'm trying to create sort of a sso rrp account where I can post some star stable realistic roleplay content. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy!!

Hi there!! My name is Florence Fireborn, but please call me Flo. I am a 22 yr old and I'm currently working as a stable hand at Jorvik's very own Moorland Stables. Like every other little girl growing up on Jorvik, I have always wanted to work with horses, whether it be rescuing them, training them, competing with them etc.

Between my studies at university, and my stable hand duties here at Moorland, I take lessons on my very own lease horse Black Magic or as I like to call her, Ariel (she's pictured above with me). She is a young 6 yr old mare, with plenty of scope, and as I improve my riding ability, I am hoping that she will be able to take me up to the higher levels. However, she is can be quite green, and so we are both sort of learning together (which, yes I know, probably isn't the best for her or me, but some of the trainers here at moorland are also working with Ariel to help her become more experienced).

Some things that I have to do as part of my duties as a stable hand is mucking out stalls (my favourite 🙄), lunging/exercising lesson horses, turning horses out and feeding them. The main trainer here at Moorland, Jenna, has even offered to let me help her teach the little kids in some of their riding lessons, which I am very excited about!!!!

Anyways, that's all I have to say for today. I hope you guys enjoy this post and I'm sorry that it's quite long 😕

I took out my friend's pony Casper to a hunter flat show today, it was refreshing to do something other than showjumping or cross country for once, although I did have trouble braiding Casper's mane last night (I'm absolutely awful at braiding) anyways we ended up scoring as a reserve champion, placing 1st in the turnout division and 4th in the under saddle division. Overall, it was great fun and I might even try out some flat shows with Oakley

Shared these on Insta already, but thought you all would like to see them here too!

I rode Periwinkle last night at the request of the owners, just trying her over a super tiny jump. She's still relatively new at Flying Lead so we're trying to work anything out before the little girl who owns her rides her doing anything more than flatwork.

She was great over the poles at a trot, so I spaced them out and she cantered well over them too. I tried a small cavaletti which she absolutely refused and sort of lost her wits about. I knew going into this that she was fairly green, still having a lot to learn despite having several years under saddle (according to the previous owner). We worked back at the poles for another few minutes, just trying to encourage her to listen a bit better and maybe sort out any confidence issues. Finally, she jumped a super small jump but honestly it was better than I had been hoping for and I let her be done for the evening. Plus, it's still so hot at the end of August that I was ready to be done too if we're being honest!

Canada - “Canadian Dream” | Rescue | Retired | Percheron x Friesian x Quarter Horse | 17.2 hh | Mare | 14 years old

Canada used to be a dressage horse but had to retire due to an injury unrelated to the discipline. Instead of dumping her, the owners brought her to us to care for. She's a cheeky lass who loves exercise. While she doesn't do professional dressage anymore, she enjoys the trail rides we take her on and the occasional light dressage we sometimes host on the ranch.

Avisi is a full time dressage horse and loves the sport. She's taken out for daily trail rides as well as training every day, with Sundays off. She's a sweet girl who adores attention and will follow you everywhere if given the chance.

Arakos is our resident race horse. His previous owner passed away due to illness and he was surrendered to us. We attempted to rehome him without much luck, as he's a serial escaper. We quickly learned that letting him roam the ranch as he wishes was best. Arakos regularly participates in races all around Jorvik, and calming him down afterward is usually a challenge because he simply wants to run. He's a goofy boy with an interesting personality and a tendency to get stuck in some strange places!

Marvelle | Rescue | American Paint x English Thoroughbred | 15 hh | Mare | 4 years old

Marvelle is our local therapy horse and assists Obsidian with welcoming the rescues, as well as helping people with mental illnesses or little kids who want to start riding. She might be used as an official lesson horse someday, but for now she just hangs around the ranch.

Barden - “Magical Eagle” | Barrel Racer | American Quarter Horse x English Thoroughbred | 14.7 hh | Gelding | 10 years old

Barden is a part time barrel racer who tends to ignore everyone unless he's working or training. We take him out for trail rides every day and train him 4 times a week with occasional races inbetween. At the moment he's the grumpy (almost) senior.

Our lovely Asia is a full time dressage horse. She has a cheeky look in her eye with an attitude to match! She manages to steal treats and a bite of food from unsuspecting volunteers on a regular basis. She adores training and loves causing mischief.

Pearl - “Art Cadeau” | Rescue | Dressage & Show Jumping | Purebred Arabian | 14.9 hh | Mare | 9 years old

Pearl is a part-time dressage and show jumping horse under the name of “Art Cadeau”. She adores attention and loves small children. Pearl follows everyone around and is always the center of attention wherever she goes. Don't think you'll be able to visit NHA without Pearl greeting you! Pearl was surrendered to us at the age of 5 after being rescued from terrible conditions that are in no way fit for humans nevermind a horse. She's always had a sparkle in her eye and fire in her soul.

Mystic is our newest rescue. She's estimated to be 5 years old, the previous owners never disclosed her age even after a lot of probing on our part. She's slightly aloof and distrustful of humans, however she's beginning to come around. We're unsure whether she'll ever be rideable or adopted, so for the time being her home will be with us.

 Hey all! As discussed, here is a soft opening of the RRP discord server. There’s no time requirement, feel free to participate and come/go as you please. I really wanted a space to meet and interact with Star Stable players who enjoy realistic role play and I feel like Discord is a super great way to do that and form a community.
