"Then vs Now" 2015 was the year, The year I let a man love me, But soon I left him, He couldn't deal with it, I became his victim. He wasn't the only one though, It was the ones who didn't believe, It was the ones that scoffed at me, Those were the ones, The ones that made it worse, made me their victim too. 1 day of anger became more, It became phone calls, intimidation, and rage lasting, Lasting oh so much longer, Love shouldn't hurt yet his did, Their disregard hurt worse. Where could I turn to? Where when even the police said it had to get worse, Get worse I asked, Get worse I screamed in disbelief, Get worse meant get dead. And get dead I couldn't afford, Wouldn't allow, I woke up, I fought back, I refused to let him win. More than 2 years gone, But he's not, He's still there, Haunting me, The memories still fresh with every lingering glance. He's not the only one that tried to hurt me, They did too, With their inactions and shrugs, They made me their victim and still do, With every reminder they bring up.
