Stupido | A Station 19 fanfiction
A/N: A quick follow up to this fic. Requested by the travic ceo @travichughes! Be sure to check her blog out.
Warnings: All the Italian is from google translate so don’t come for me! Happy reading!
-
To say Carina is angry is an understatement.
When she first met her wife’s team, she could immediately tell that Travis Montgomery and Victoria Hughes were inseparable.
So, she never expected him to leave her out to dry.
Vic instantly became one of her favorite people. The youngest firefighter is a ball of sunshine, and her personality and humor sometimes reminds Carina of her stupid baby brother, who left her too soon. Seeing Vic so broken, so hurt…nearly shattered the Italian into two.
And, typically, her sadness grows into anger. This circumstance is no exception.
Maya contacted Chief Ross, letting her know that Vic and her would be taking the day off. The chief held a lot of sympathy for Vic, knowing how strongly the firefighter held her emotions. She also complimented Maya on how good of a friend she is, which surprised Maya.
However, Carina decided to go in, as it is a clinic day and she has patients. She held in her anger for Travis until he approached her.
“Hey Carina. Do you know where Vic is? I haven’t seen her since yesterday morning. I tried calling her but she hasn’t answered.”
Carina feels a bubble of anger, and doesn’t respond, but drags Travis into his bunk and shuts the door.
“Do you have any idea how much of a thick headed stronzo you are?! Mio dio, ti preoccupi solo adesso?!”
Travis is incredibly confused. First, he only understands half of what Carina just said to him, second, the last time he saw her this angry was last year when Jack ordered pineapple on pizza.
“What are you…” He begins, but is cut off by the raging doctor. “No, no, no, you do not speak. Only listen. You have been so caught up in this stupid mayor race and your new idiota boyfriend that you have completely left vic behind! How could you?” Carina rants.
“Carina I-.” Once again, Travis is cut off. “It is not my place to tell you what happened, but Victoria was on a tough call yesterday, she was so distraught that Maya and I found her sobbing in her bunk. Victoria Hughes, the most bright, beautiful ball of sunshine looked completely broken. Maya and I took her to our home, and she is still there with Maya.”
Travis sighs. “I know I’ve been shitty, and I’m sorry. I really am. But Carina, she’s everything to me. I can’t lose her.”
“You won’t, Travis. But, you’ve been a bad friend. You need to make it up to her, and promise you won’t leave her behind. I don’t doubt that she’ll forgive you for this, but still. Be her person, like you always have been.” Carina explains. Travis nods, thanking Carina before they both go back to work.
He has some serious apologies to make.
-
Vic snuggles closer to Maya, enjoying her warmth. Maya has always been so comfortable to cuddle with, and gives the best hugs. Despite how upset she was yesterday, Maya has been making her feel so much better.
“God, these reality tv shows are so lame.” Maya complains. “Yeah, but they make me feel better about my own life.” Vic laughs. Seeing how much of a mess these people are makes her feel like she’s doing pretty okay.
On the screen, a woman slaps her now ex-boyfriend, and Maya whoops. “DESERVED!” She yells. Vic giggles, shaking her head.
“Hey…you know I got you? Always, ok? I’ll always be here.” Maya reassures Vic. Vic nods. “Yeah, yeah. I know.”
-
Later on in the day, Vic hears a knock at the door to Maya and Carina’s apartment. “I’ll get it.” She murmurs to the two, and opens the door to see a guilty looking Travis.
“Hey…I know I’ve been really shitty lately, but can we talk?” He requests. Vic hesitantly nods. Maya and Carina quietly move to their room, giving the duo some space.
Travis takes Vic’s hand as they sit down. “I’m so sorry, Vic. I’ve been such an oblivious idiot that I forgot what’s most important to me. And that’s you.”
Vic feels tears pool in her eyes. “And I’m sorry that Theo has been being such a douche to you lately. It’s not fair, the way he is treating you.” Travis continues.
“Carina mentioned you had a rough call yesterday, and I just wanted to say I’m here. If you need to talk, cry, anything. I’m here.” He promises.
“Thank you, Trav. But you still have a lot of making up to do.” She tells him. Travis hugs her. “I know. Don’t you ever forget that you are my number one, ok? You’ll always be my number one.”
The duo continue to hug for a moment, before Vic pulls back. “I don’t know what to do about Theo. He’s been so busy being captain and has his head so far up his ass he might see god himself.”
Travis chuckles at the end of that sentence. “Look, Theo doesn’t deserve you. If he finds that his job is more important than you? Then let him, and leave him. He will eventually realize what he lost.”
“Thanks, Travis. I needed to hear that.” Vic murmurs. “And take it from someone who is man and attracted to them. They fucking suck sometimes.”
Vic laughs loudly at that. “Trust me, I know. If I could choose I would totally be attracted to women.”
They laugh for another moment before Travis sobers. “How can I start making it up to you?”
Vic grins, throwing her feet on Travis’ lap. “Foot rub!”
Travis rolls his eyes. “Fine. But only because I love you.”
“I love you too, dumbass.”

Alright so it’s been a hot minute since i’ve been here, life truly gets in the way and i feel that i’m going through the motions but finally after the buzz has settled i wanted to reflect a bit on Station 19 season 6.
I think we’re standing at a different place than we were by the end of season 5 and i believe that’s great. We went from that insanity -not in a good way- of season to something much much better. Few changes were made and it showed from the very beginning of season 6. To put it simply it was raw, by far the rawest season in terms of storyline, obviously because of what Maya went through, the repercutions it had on Carina and so on… Mental health was the overall arc for season 6 and honestly? I loved how it played out… Fair to say a LOT of people saw themselves in Carina and Maya which sparked the conversation -the very much needed conversation-
It was a rollercoaster but i’m glad we went through those moments because it lead to a healthier outcome instead of a quick fix it showed a more realistic side of a journey that can’t be taken lightly. On the other hand i wished they would’ve handled the Beckett story a bit better, by the end of it the writers made a good job by Vic checking up on him and just sparkling that conversation. I enjoyed the brief love triangle between Andy/Eli/Travis, it would have been funnier that they explored that angle deeper but i guess it turned out alright.
The expectations were so high when a female chief was announced but it turns out that it was just another love interest for a man, love to see it (please notice the sarcasm). While i don’t mind that Ross had history with Sullivan i kinda hated how her character just became the woman simping for the guy. They tried to redeem her a bit but it wasn’t enough. I would have LOVED that she actually made some changes within SFD to support women and actually make things better. Remember the storyline about fighting sexism? Yeah, me too. Anyways it was terrible that she was shamed for having a consensual relationship with another adult but it makes me grit my teeth the double standards: the whole you’re heroic for basically organizing a mutiny but when someone breaks protocol for saving a life that’s wrong or having a relationship with someone who outranks you but we’re totally ignoring that too, i get it, it’s for the sake of drama but certain things needs to make sense.
All that leads me to Andy being captain, we all saw it coming, there’s no way Maya was going to be captain again -at least not while being on 19- and while it should have been handled a bit better (the woman does have ambitions and putting a pause to pursue her dreams to heal does not mean she needs to abandon it) i think Andy deserved something a bit better, not just: alright you’re captain now. At least her first “shift” as captain was packed with action but still…
And that also brings me to Theo: at first he was like alright, laid back dude, gets the job done but the second he got promoted it’s like it flipped a switch on him especially being such an ass to Vic for absolutely no reason like ??? But at least she left him, i really liked how she pointed out that being happy for her friend does not mean she’s not supporting him (i wonder if that friendship also extends to Maya, after yk, call her a nasty person and do absolutely nothing to stand for her. Yes i will always be bitter about how everyone turned their backs on Maya).
Jack can’t seem to catch a break and God knows what’s gonna happen to him but at least he’s healthier and trying to stay out of other people’s relationships which i’m glad. I loved how Ben and Miranda where kinda there for Maya and Carina (i say kinda because it’s not like Maya had the greatest support out there but Ben did listen so that’s something. Also shout out to Diane, she’s incredible and i love whenever she appears)
Finally -because this is way too long lol- we know where we are standing in terms of Maya and Carina growing their family, for a solid minute i thought well, they are being ambiguous because it’s probably leading to that but no, it wasn’t. I wasn’t mad that they didn’t make Carina pregnant by the end of the season, if anything the scenes where they are discussing how many kids and stuff makes it so much more meaningful because Maya is obviously in such a better head space. Oh and just as a quick comment: Carina should have gone to therapy too, she needed to heal from that rocky period of time and it would have been cool to see her perspective, even if we saw sneak peaks with Vic, Miranda and Diane i believe sitting down and leading to a backstory would have been so much better.
If you got to this point i love you, i wanted to ramble a bit and finally found the moment to sit down and put this together (it’s a bit all over the place, just like my brain but bare with me). Catch you on season 7🤍

Station 19 6x16
soo, i’m a bit late but what did you guys think about danielle’s directorial debut episode? cause i’ve seen some pretty angry comments on ig about stefania’s absence, the hole in marina’s progress and even some about the writer.
I’m new to the fandom, so i don’t really know much about the writers etc. I personally thought that the episode was great, i liked the action and the emotional and vulnerable moments.
Obviously i would’ve preferred it too if stefania were there, she is a regular after all, and if we had more info about marina’s relationship progress and everything (from what i gathered the episode takes place a few days after the shower episode 👀). so in that sense i understand why some may be frustrated and angry. I just think that some comments could’ve been worded differently, because it’s kinda disrespectful to danielle and her hard work that they are mainly focusing on those things. She really seemed so excited and proud of this episode and it probably sucks that many people are focusing solely on those issues.

i just watched 6x03 and i actually am enjoying the season so far.
My heart broke for maya at the end (like she doesn't think she's even part of the s19 family and it's starting to be physically and not just mentally about the pain 💔)
and carina because after taking the test she finally knows what she wants and is trying to go to maya and the rejection was unbearable for my little heart 😭
Also maya breaking hippa after giving a bottle of alcohol to a recovering 💔 im so scared of what's next

Station 19 Season 6 predictions
(I have already watched ep1, i kinda forgot to post)
What I think will happen;
Maya is going to do something stupid to either prove that she doesn't need help or to self-destruct, which will be irreversibly stupid and will lead to either her putting herself in a dangerous situation or getting fired from the Seattle Fire department
I don't think Maya and Carina will break up, because Carina is an important member of the Station 19 cast, but without her relationship with Maya, there isn't much tying her into the show. Since she is one of the leading characters (in the sense that she is a fan favourite) they aren't going to risk her leaving. Thus, no breakup, but there is going to be a lot of damage.
Diane Lewis will 100% turn up. There is no doubt in my mind that she, or another therapist, will be in this season
Andy and Maya get closer. With everything with Carina, Maya is going to need her voice of reason. Plus, we have been absolutely robbed of Andy/Maya's friendship these past seasons. ROBBED
For some reason I think Warren and Maya are going to get closer, or at least get more screen time together. Can't tell you why. But he gives good advice and gives dad vibes, so I think he and Maya will do shit. He might also give her a talk about how relationships go through tough times
What I hope doesn't happen
I hope they don't do the kid fixes all trope. Like when a relationship is on the brink of collapse but having a kid somehow fixes it. No. I hate that. That doesn't work or happen.
I hate myself for even thinking this. But like...what if they redo the storyline of Maya cheating on Carina with Jack. I will stop watching the show, I'm not even kidding. Maya being very angry with Jack + eventually angry with Carina = self-destructive hate sex

Here for you, always | A Station 19 fanfiction
Summary: After leaving Beckett’s house, Vic is very anxious and understandably upset. Maya and Carina are on their way out when they hear her crying in her bunk. They help her out.
Trigger warnings: Mentions of Beckett’s suicidal thoughts, suicide in general, mental health struggles, and alcoholism. Please don’t read if not comfortable, otherwise, enjoy!
-
Vic isn’t sure how long she sits in her car sobbing. Could’ve been hours, could’ve been seconds.
Eventually, she turns her car on and pulls herself together enough to see the road.
It’s a ten minute drive to the station. Once she arrives, she’s reprimanded by Theo for being gone all day. He doesn’t even ask if she is ok, or anything. She barely responds to him, she can barely even look at him. He is being a terrible captain, and an even worse boyfriend.
Or, whatever they are right now.
Vic retreats to her bunk, just barely getting a glimpse of Maya going into the shower stalls.
And then, she breaks.
-
Carina allows Maya to get changed, helping her comb out her hair. “Ready to go, bella?” Carina asks. Maya is about to respond, but stops. She furrows her brow, and listens out to confirm what she just heard.
“Is everything ok?” Carina questions. “Do you hear that?” Carina listens closer, and her eyes widen slightly.
“Someone is crying.” Carina states.
They walk along the bunk room together, and the crying gets louder as they get closer to Vic’s bunk.
Maya looks at Carina, who nods. “Vic? It’s Maya and Carina. Can we come in?”
No response. Maya is seriously starting to become concerned. Carina is too.
“Vic, we’re going to come in. Please say something if you don’t want us too.”
Again, silence.
Maya nods at Carina, before opening the door slowly.
What she sees breaks her heart.
Vic, who is usually a ball of sunshine, is curled up in a ball, visibly crying and whimpering.
“Vic, hey. What happened?” Maya questions, placing a hand on Vic’s back. Vic doesn’t respond, but sits up and hugs Maya tightly. “I’m so glad you’re in my life, Maya.” Vic whispers. “I’m so relieved you didn’t let your mental health struggles drive you to death.” She continues.
“Hey Vic, look at me.” Maya coaxes. It takes her a minute, but Vic eventually looks at her. “I appreciate what you said, but where is this coming from?” Maya asks.
Vic composes herself, and Carina begins tickling Vic’s back gently, something she always does to soothe Maya.
“You guys can’t tell anyone I told you this. But today, I responded to a suicidal first responder. It…It was Beckett.” Vic confesses. Maya’s eyes widen, and Carina inhales sharply. “Did…did someone call it in?” Carina questions.
“No. The way he was acting last shift, the fact that he called in sick today…he gave Theo his axe which is like, super personal. I just had a bad feeling and had to go see him. He was so guilty about Cooper’s death, he was going to kill himself. And I stopped him, and convinced him to finish his rehab program.” Vic explains.
“It was weird, seeing someone who is so tough and harsh, break down like that. I know none of us liked him, and the way he treated you, Maya, was not ok. But nobody deserves to go through that.” She continues.
Maya and Carina listen to her, absorbing the information. “I’m so sorry Vic. But I’m glad you saved him. He will get better now, because of you.” Carina murmurs.
“It’s just been so much lately. First, you got hurt, Maya, and I was so scared you wouldn’t be ok. Travis has been so absent lately, Theo is being an absolute dickhead, and I just feel so alone right now.” Vic sobs.
“Hey, hey. Look at me.” Maya commands softly, cupping Vic’s cheek. “I’m right here with you. I know it was really scary, but I’m here and I’m much better. Theo is an asshole, you deserve much better than him. You’re a badass who doesn’t need a man. And Travis, I can talk some sense into him and kick his ass if you want.” Maya jokes towards the end of her pep talk, drawing a small giggle from Vic.
“Victoria, if it’s ok with Maya, why don’t you come back to our place tonight?” Carina offers. Maya nods in agreement. “Yeah, yeah. We got You, Hughie.”
“No, I can’t intrude. I heard you you guys by the lockers, it’s your first night together after so much time apart.” Vic protests.
“Hey, Carina and I will have plenty of time to reconnect. But right now you need us. Now go get changed, and we’ll meet you in the lobby ok?” Maya says. Vic nods, not protesting any further.
Vic changes into her clothes, and goes to the lobby, where Maya and Carina are waiting for her.
Maya climbs into the back seat with Vic, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, while Carina gets into the drivers seat.
Vic is nearly asleep by the time they reach Maya and Carina’s apartment. “Hey Vic. We’re here.” Maya whispers gently, causing the younger women to stir slightly. “Come on.”
Maya keeps an arm wrapped around Vic, making sure she is close to her. Maya has always felt this overwhelming urge to protect Vic, since she is so young. The youngest at their station, actually.
Carina unlocks the door, opening it wide enough for Maya and Vic to fit through the threshold.
“Come on, I have some pajamas you can wear. Baby, can you make us some tea?” Maya asks. “Of course, bambina.” Carina replies.
After some time, Maya and Carina get into bed with Vic squished into the middle of them.
“Thank you guys.” Vic says. “I know this was your first night back together but…I really needed some comfort.” She continues, her voice cracking.
Carina wraps Vic in her arms. “Hey, we got you tesoro. Maya and I will have plenty of time together. You need the rest, in a safe place. And tomorrow, I will give Travis a piece of mind. I’m very scary when I go full Italiana.”
Vic giggles at Carina’s teasing tone. “Don’t be too hard on him. He still cares about me, and loves me.”
Carina nods. “Rest, both of you. We all need it.”
Surrounded by two of her closest friends, Vic feels safe and comfortable after a terribly heartbreaking day.
-
A/N: Thanks for reading! I miss Maya and Vic’s friendship, and this was the result. Hope you enjoyed, and remember, you aren’t alone.

marina are back together finally!!! and carina also has her ring back, ngl i might’ve teared up a little 🥹
what do we think about maya not going for captain? i personally think that she’s happy where she is right now and she decide to reorganize her priorities a little. i don’t think it means that she’s given up on her dream of being captain though, i think she still wants that, but in the future. her priority right now is herself, her family, or at least that’s how i see it.
