IT WAS YOUR BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY?!
*Facepalms* (shoot, my time management and perception is completely borked)
Well, i hope you had a fun day yesterday and an equally lovely one today! <3
I have time blindness, so no worries at all!! I really appreciate you sending an ask anyway, you know? Thank you!
It’s been a tad rough since I got cross-contaminated with gluten at my birthday dinner, but I still got books, an incredibly touching piece of art from @evilwriter37, got to see him open the birthday present I did a lot of coordination with his friends for us to get him, I had a ton of fun with makeup, and it was kind of fun getting destroyed by The Bad Batch. I also wrote a chapter of a fic today and just had a relaxing day. It was nice! Again, I really appreciate this.

Hey, i don't know is you can help with this but i figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
There is this old movie i once saw on the Turner Classic Movie Channel years ago and i can't for the life of me remember the name of it or anyone who acted in it. I think it might have been 40s or 50s but i'm not 100% sure.
It was a black and white film about a woman, her husband and their son who are on a beach and the husband gets trapped under a pier/dock?. The woman runs off to get help and ends up meeting an escaped convict. the film would go back and forth between the woman trying to convince the convict to come help her husband and the convict trying to escape the police who are combing the countryside for him, and the husband and son as the tide comes in. There is a scene where the convict and the woman are in the car and the police drive up beside them so the convict pretends to be asleep against her shoulder with a concealed gun pressed against her side while she talks to the police. It ends with the convict helping to free the husband before he runs off and the woman's family being safe.
It was in English. I also remember the film length being on the shorter side i believe. I can't stop thinking about it and would love to know what this film was. If you have any ideas on what this film could be, i could really use some help figuring this out please?
hello! based on your description i don't think i've ever seen this film but i did some googling and maybe you are referring to jeopardy (1953) with barbara stanwyck? it fits the descriptin quite well!

Favorite Cats Moment?
Oof, that's a hard one.
If you're asking in regards to which moment I usually watch the most often, and fast forward to if applicable, and that is very near and dear to me, it would be the entirety of "Gus the Theatre Cat" from beginning to end - interlude number not withstanding, just the bookend bits. Phenomenal. Nothing like it. Especially when that poor cat is staring up into the rafters with tears in his eyes coming to the crashing realization that everything he loved at one point is never going to be the same again and only exists in his memories - nothing like that.
Character moment? Again I'm a sucker for anything Gus does in his short time on, and have a very soft spot for Asparagus sweeping in with "There's a man over there" and then old-man-in-training Munkustrap saddling up behind him and the absolute *ire* the *gall* - when it's sped through I get *sad*
If you're asking favourite of all time, as in it is quintessential CATS for me and if they aren't done well I feel actual disappointment, there are a couple:
-"Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats", the whole thing really because it's a great pump up number (and if it falls flat tbh the rest of the show is in trouble), the first song I ever heard from this musical more than 20 years ago, and has so much personality about it when the performers sell it, both in individual vocals and together - but I am especially fond of when they do the harmonies during the chorus which you can hear the clearest in productions like, say, Mexico in 1991. If I could eat a piece of music, it would be that.
-The "Boys Step" section of the "Jellicle Ball" but those notes better be *crisp* and everyone has to be on that exact beat because it's just so *fun* when it's done correctly.
-The musical swells in "The Moments of Happiness" where Deuteronomy's voice *booms* across the theatre and the performers on stage arch their spines or tremble and it seems to resonate through each and every one of them. That is *chills* territory if done well.
-Jemima/Sillabub's second interlude in "Memory (Reprise)", but specifically beginning right at "endless masquerading" (which is like, as a side note, still something that resonates so deeply with me as a line - even the original inspiration of "With the other masquerades/That time resumes" like...girl) and bleeding into Grizabella's own musical swell - if those voices *fit* together and harmonize working to that crescendo, that is almost spiritual in its execution.
-The final note of "The Ad-dressing of Cats" where all the voices come together and they reach towards the sky, where Deuteronomy's can be heard again soaring underneath it, sheesh. Powerful. Amazing. Show stopping (literally).

What is your favorite Stex wig?
hmm... there are a few that i think are just -chefs kiss-
-a good greaseball wig can look so good, even if his wig is one of the less flashy ones. i love it when it structured in the front (think 2010-2015 wigs), and i love it when theres a bit of a mullet in the back. also, i gotta have some gold streaks in there (as good as nigel looks, in many of his wigs the gold is barely there </3)
-i love a good bouncy electra toothpaste wig!!! i wanna bury my face in there.
-electras olc wig,, <33333 the floof!! the braids!!!!!!
-pearl wigs that are a bit poofy and curly.. effervescent
-a lot of bochum volta wigs are cool and funky and i love them <3

Have you ever seen the Dracula ballet? The pas de deux between Jonathan and Dracula specifically has some very intense whump vibes that seem like the sort of thing you'd like.
Oh my gosh, it's so cool that you sent this ask because I put the link to the ballet in my drafts a couple of hours ago! I'm so excited. I am actually a huge sucker for watching dance, and I love Dracula, so it seems super fun. And yes, all the whump. Give it to me.

Do you have any Raffish Crew headcanons?
Not really? I don’t usually pay much attention to them because I try not to interact with the whole Growltiger business as much as I can, lol.

Who is your favorite Rusty actor?
Ohhh hmm. It's hard to pick an all time favorite, there's been so many good ones throughout the years! A few that particularly stand out to me are Jeffrey Socia, Kevin Köhler, and since I saw him LIVE, Max Rizzo. I was in awe at his 15 second Starlight yell.

Hey. Every time you reblog pics of cats it gets 'Content has been removed for violating Tumblr guidelines'. i don't know if you're aware this has been happening. but it's kinda weird and i thought you should know.
Yeah, I noticed that! I've been deleting them when I see them. (These were queued posts, too.)
It appears that cat blog I had been reblogging from (daily-cats) was taken down. I don't have any details beyond that.
But thank you for noticing!
