ok since i can't seem to find a single person willing to say it that isn't using it as a dogwhistle for some nasty kiddy porn crap i gotta do everything myself around here.
the thing about Purity Culture isn't an issue of morality, it's an issue of engagement. what literary analysis asks someone to do is engage with a piece of art, regardless of themes and content, and interpret what the story means to the audience, to the author, and to the characters. you aren't intended to agree with everything depicted-- without even getting into unreliable narratives and the fact "protagonist" means "main character" and not "good guy", once art progresses past an elementary reading level, the reader is expected to take a certain responsibility. Instead of the narrator spoon feeding the plot and morals, the "narrator" is often the protagonist themselves, and we see things from their (potentially flawed) perspective. the reader is expected to look at the protagonists experiences and decide for themselves what is good and bad and if the protagonist is in the right. often the themes of the book will reflect which side the author wants you to take, but the author won't always take the time to write out an explicit condemnation outside of subtext and interpretations. you see this in series like death note, or lolita, or watchmen, or even in children cartoons like invader zim; the protagonist isn't necessarily the good guy or even in the right, and it's the readers responsibility to figure this out.
so that covers "A Book Containing Negative Themes Doesn't Mean The Author Condones Those Themes". there's obvious exceptions where you can tell the author does, ie it's an autobiographical fiction, or They Said So, or there's some weird fetishistic themes. But again, it's up to the reader to read and decide for themselves if that's the case.
But what if the author IS bad?
well, here's where it gets dicey and you have to make some more personal decisions. does the work have artistic value despite its flaws? does engaging with the work privately cause overt harm? (like, if the author has been dead for 400 years, you probably aren't benefiting them by reading). is there anything you can learn by studying the work? are you capable of engaging with the work at a personal distance and deciding what to internalise?
there are some things out there you probably won't find any value in consuming. some legal obscenity standards are even based on the concept of "would an average adult be able to find artistic value in the work". but some works you can gain a lot from studying-- sociological data, inside perspectives on atrocities, dogwhistles to look for, mistakes to avoid repeating, patterns, insight into the author, or "worst guy you know just made a great point". Hell, even guys like freud are still studied today despite most being recognised as garbage.
point being: a complete non engagement policy doesn't build strong critical thinking skills. it's fine to be uncomfortable with some themes, and it's fine to feel an author is reprehensible. this doesn't mean reading their work will make you a bad person. whether or not a book makes you a bad person depends entirely on how YOU respond to it, interpret it, and internalise it. you can control these things. i promise reading a few Bad Books will not make you guilty of thoughtcrimes, nor will it animorph you into a horrible person. you obviously don't have to read everything that makes you uncomfortable, i just severely wish people would stop just straight up not reading entire genres of literature bc OP (guy who has been dead for decades) was problematic.
this does not apply to things like kiddy porn, which lack artistic value and have a genuinely negative impact on public psychological health. kiddy porn enthusiasts do not interact.

there’s been some age discourse circulating on anime tiktok about older folks liking minor anime characters and how they SHOULDNT simp for them and i wanted to ask (1) what did you think about that? and (2) we see how often adults write smut about fictional characters that are minors so ummm how does that work?
imo in general since a lot of underage characters are drawn to be REALLY attractive or rather older, if i like them??? i like them.... but i don’t necessarily come on the internet to openly make sexualizing comments or nothing like that so respectful simping = a okay. like i want to give xyz a hug and a poptart and they’re the cutest patootest person on the planet type vibes.
as i aged, with a lot of new animes like demon slayer and jjk, i simply do not find MYSELF attracted ??? to the minors like inosuke and megumi, who would have been my general favorite characters if i was 15 bc that is how all my favorite characters looked and acted like but stuff that ive grown up with and characters i aged (i was 15, same age as kageyama when i watched hq!!) with are still going to be like?? VERY pedestal heavy & ppl i still hyperfixate over since i am still very attached to them even if i don’t say a word online about them. i am kind of scared of being attacked for liking them :(
but EVEN WITH FICS??? like lol please let me READ them in peace i promise it’ll be between me and my phone but duuude i think actively reading fics about me x fictional character is insane /jk so let me live. i think it’s interesting though because yeah okay chara x reader is bad but people writing smut about underage characters in ships (kagehina as an example) and then ppl are okay with it.... ALSO not to mention how much doujins are made again with the minor characters and suggestive content..... but yeah food for thought
this has been sitting in my inbox for a few days bc ive been trying to think about how to properly gather my thoughts on it so if anyone wants to hear me rant about media literacy and fictional minors you can click below :)
i think people often forget that fiction is just that—fiction. its fake. yes we can pour our hearts and souls into loving certain characters or shows but at the end of the day they as "people" are lines on paper. they do not exist. i think the lines are extremely blurred when it comes to stuff like the age debate because people get weird w/ minors being written about or thought of in a certain way etc.
personally, when i think of a character (especially applied to noncanon universes) i think about them because i like the idea of them. i match them in my head to be fitting to me and my personal character (age included!!!!) so like yes i love canon megumi and his character, but when i write about megumi and "simp" for him in my head hes not 15. hes tailored to my personal demographic and interest (if that makes sense)
i think that people think too much into the whole fiction thing because its literally fake....like people get cancelled for writing FAKE SCENARIOS about FAKE PEOPLE because of their age. fiction is meant to be fake! its meant to be consumed knowing it is not real, and to explore hypotheticals and use your imagination to your own advantage
with that being said....in no way shape or form do i condone pedophilia or illegal age relationships. i think that people need to stop worrying about FICTIONAL age gaps and focus on the actual real life minors being groomed, harassed, assaulted, etc. because this is something that happens in real life to real people. worrying about fictional scenarios that will not be real no matter how hard you try is pointless when the reality of the situation is that real adults being interested in real minors is the real issue.
idk if i worded this nicely or if it makes sense but this is just my opinion on it <3 they’re literally not real and we should be focusing on protecting actual human real life minors <3

Okay listen up
"Fiction can affect reality" , "just because you read about something doesnt automatically mean you condone it in real life, even if you enjoy it" , "there is a correlation between what people consume and their behavior or way of thinking" and "most people should be able to put fiction and reality apart"
Are all statements that are true at the same time.
People are different, psychology is weird, the human mind is weird. so seeing something as just black and white and treat every person like they need to abide to some morality code is peak hashtag REPENTyouSINNERS
Look. Childporn is bad. No question. I wont be making an excuse for people drawing it, nor for those consuming it. However there are people who dont seem to realize that not everything is automatically pedophilic in nature.
The romantization of abuse is an atrocity, 50 shades showed how aweful it is. Doesnt mean that every couple that safely does consensual non consent roleplaying or reads fanfiction about dubious consent also condones that shit irl.
Otherwise, hell lets get everyone locked up who enjoyed the SAW franchise bc it is a gore fest and most only cared about the traps and how cool they are. Anyone who ever enjoyed something with problematic content in it? Jail.
The thing is: people are versitile and not everyone is a) young and prone to influence b) not aware enough to make a clear cut between fiction and reality and c) fucking stupid.
Do i enjoy a villain from time to time? Yeah sure. Would i lust for a real person doing something absolutely horrific? Fuck no.
More than half of the deadly sins are /mental/. Greed, Envy, Pride, Lust, Wrath-
And i hate how it seeped through the ages now into fandoms where you are executed on sight if you think a ship that isnt fluffy and pure would be interesting to explore.
People like to make statements that are all encompasing and clear cut. If you like this then you're fine. If you like this, you are an asshole. In some cases it is easy to make that distinction. If you enjoy racist, fachist, homophobic or sexist jokes then maybe you're an asshole. Or maybe not educated enough. But we cant stretch this to /everything/ because fiction and its correlation to reality is so deeply complicated and versitile.
in short: dont be assholes and use that brain of yours a bit more.

3. rant. just do it
Ok, maybe this will be a little mean but can someone....tell native english speakers that no one cares about jap sub vs eng dub discourse except themselves? Like, they are sooo tiring and at the end of the day it's just a matter of personal preference... The people who feel superior for watching subs are dumb/pretentious and I won't defend them, but also some of the arguments in favor of dubs kinda make me salty bc they come from a place of such privilege, like "some people don't like reading subtitles" or "some people prefer consuming media in their own language", and yeah i'm not saying they aren't valid but it's obvious those things only apply to english speakers bc the rest of the world does not have the freedom to choose most of the time. This is speacially bad outside of anime, like what happened with Parasite. So many entitled americans bitching about having to see a foreign film.....s h u t u p
4. do you think its ok to separate the artist from the art?
Oh, this is a complex one. I think it depends on the situation. You always have to think critically of the media you consume, specially if the person who created it ended up being an asshole. Mostly because their ideology could be inside that media in a subliminal way, or you could end up supporting them without wanting to. I also think it's important to look at time periods. Personally I don't believe it's bad to, for example, read a book from a problematic author who has been dead for 200 years, it's not like your purchase will give them any money lol and at the end of the day pretty much all authors from other centuries have been some kind of -ist or -phobic 🤷🏻‍♀️ If the author is alive then that's a different story. Supporting artists who are well known for being horrible or, even worse, excusing their actions is not something I condone. You can always find a way of consuming their media without giving them money if you really want to (pirating is a good option :p). So yeah, I'm not gonna be policing ppl and telling them what they can or cannot like, but all of this is somethins I take into consideration while consuming media myself (for example, JK Rowling's stupidity and hatefulness these recent years have killed the little love I had left for HP...)
10. name a dog
So...any dog? How could I choose between so many good boys? Well, i'll say Black Hayate for fictional dog, and Maya (mayapolarbear on IG) for irl dog bc I love her.
11. what unusual talent do you have?
Well, my friends used to say I could "speak whale" like in Finding Nemo bc I can deepen my voice a lot. I also can bend my fingers in a really weird way (my fingers are the only flexible part of my body). I think my most useful talent is being able to "drag" my writing while making papers/essays/etc in a believable way, so I can say something in 20 words while other people say it in 5, it comes in handy.
12. what's the most interesting schools gossip you've ever heard?
Oh boy, there were some wild rumors at my school. I think the one that caugh my attention the most was one about some girl a year older than me being pregnant. The thing is, whe didn't know who it was bc people were just saying "they say a girl from senior year is pregnant", so everyone was desperate to know lmao I don't know how that ended up....now that I think about it that was fucked up, if it was true then poor girl.
Also, we had a literature teacher who was really strict and had a pretty peculiar personality. People used to say she was going to get married but her fiancee abandoned her (like, her tragic backstory and reason for being like that), it was probably false 🤣
Also in elementary school there were a lot of rumors about the statues in our church "crying blood" while no one was watching. This became so widespread that the director made a speech confirming it was false and said we should not be spreading such blasphemous things.....catholic schools really are something else.
17. google the top song from the year you were born
I searched top song from 1999 and the first two results are Livin' la vida loca and I want it that way. Sounds like a good year for music hah
20. describe your blog in 3-5 words
Young adult who likes procrastinating.
21. what's a conspiracy you believe in?
Already answered in my last ask!
26. crowds or small groups?
Small groups. I hate crowds, always have and always will. Also, I don't know if this is normal or not but if I spend too much time in a crowded place I start to feel dizzy/light headed.
31. you can change one thing about your life right now. what are you changing?
This horrible situation we are all in, honestly. I just want things to go back to normal but that won’t happen if people keep being selfish and governments keep caring more about economy than people’s lifes :/ Apart from that, i’m pretty ok with my life? I still haven’t achieved much but I don’t want to rush things, I have time.
Thanks so much for asking, this was a lot of fun 💕

I have a genuine question. How often do you actually deal with antis? I've been following you for a bit now and it seems every so often you bring up antis. I've certainly kept my interest about thorki shut and locked away in a box from my friends for the simple fact that all of them think it's incest. It's not an easy topic of conversation but you just seem to handle all the antis so well? Also on an off note about beast!Thor, his favorite pass time must just be rutting into Loki 24/7 🤔
when someone tells you that you're romanticizing abuse [bc i made a stockholm moodboard for a fic] I don't know what I'm supposed to say other than I don't condone it but I write about it? Is writing about abusive relationships bad in writing??? you're the only person i ask for advice so thank you for anything in advance
i’m honestly really glad you came to me. i really do like discussing this topic in this kind of way bc i’ll never reblog an anti or answer an anti ask. even if you’re arguing against them, i don’t think it’s worth it to argue against them if it means also spreading what they’re saying
the basic premise of all anti behavior and ideology is censorship. that’s all it is.
“i don’t like this topic, you need to stop writing it and making art for it. if you don’t stop there will be consequences.”
that is censorship and that is the kind of shit fandom has had to fight ever since there’s been fandom. women, poc, lgbt+ folks have been dealing with people telling us what we can and can’t write and enjoy for... well, probably forever. but we’re still here, creating the kind of content we want to see and indulge in.
as far as how to deal with antis, my advice is to ignore, ignore, ignore. they want what any bully wants: attention
you stop paying attention, you stop giving them time they don’t deserve from you, they’ll die off. there’s no point in fighting them directly. produce the content you want to see and enjoy what you want to enjoy. drown them out. you don’t owe them a response just because they come to you. they don’t have any qualms about being rude to you, so be rude back and just ignore them. i love blocking antis, personally. take out the garbage, y’know?
antis use the words ship and support as synonyms because they think that shipping is some radical call to action for lgbt rep instead of entertainment
shipping is not activism. shipping is about entertainment and enjoyment, nothing more
so this is why i have this very blasé attitude about antis. i just don’t give a fuck about them beyond making posts trashing their idiocy. because that’s what it is. it’s idiocy, but going deeper it’s puritanism at its finest. antis use fox news scare tactic logic under the guise of some pseudo feminist agenda because they don’t understand and don’t want to understand that enjoying dark fiction as entertainment isn’t equivalent to some greater moral stance
they use the same argument about shipping and fanfiction that WASP moms use against video games and loud music: that enjoying and consuming it will make you think it’s normal and there’s nothing wrong with it irl
okay, well, vlad the impaler never played CoD or far cry and caligula never watched hentai but we know why i’m bringing them up in this context without even heading over to wikipedia, don’t we?
they use the words abuse and pedophilia waaaaaayy too liberally and they’re doing more harm than good because they’re twisting and warping words that should have very specific meanings by using them so goddamn vaguely and irresponsibly
my own personal theory is that these people are terrified that if they don’t yell in opposition to these topics 24/7 and actively attack content creators that they’d probably enjoy it, and they’ve been so programmed by the echo chamber of tumblr and twitter that they think this means they’re bad people.
spoiler alert: that’s not what it means
i literally watched a circle jerk on twitter where screenshots of some mafia starker au got tweeted and retweeted w/ pictures of someone pouring bleach into cereal and people had asked to see more of the post. if you really don’t like something, you shouldn’t hate-read about it. it’s not productive, it does more harm than good if that’s the actual issue rather than some reverse psychology-style enjoyment they’re probably getting out of it.
they claim to hate this shit so much, but they’re reading hundreds and thousands of words and putting these images in their heads of their own free will. i don’t do that with shit i genuinely dislike. i avoid it.
i see antis say they enjoy thorki fanart because they think it’s cute, then they see it’s tagged thorki and they have an over the top reaction because the nature of anti ideology states you should never enjoy something like that, so if you do then you have to make the excuse of ignorance to prove that you’re still innocent and pure. enjoyment is apologism to them because they aren’t content to simply attack fan creators, they want to try and drive away the people who consume our art as well because they know you’re the cornerstone of fandom. consumers are why creators create. yeah, i write because i enjoy it, but i also write to connect to my readers and have people commenting on my fics when they like them.
it’s also worth noting that antis only ever talk about shipping. they only talk about sexual and romantic ships. i’ve never seen an anti talk about (often extreme) levels of violence in canon source material for the ships and characters they want to froth at the mouth over.
seeing someone bleed out and choking on their own blood after being stabbed or shot or bludgeoned? meh
seeing a character who was once a child have a sexual thought about a character who was also once a child and is also their close friend? omg why are we trying to make fandom unsafe for people?
personally, i’ve also noticed that fandoms with darker canon material tend to have more chill fandoms most of the time. i think it also depends on the average age in a given fandom. there’s a major difference between fannibals and steven universe fans, let’s just say that.
creating a moodboard for a dark fic is not “romanticizing abuse” and at this point antis honestly have no fucking idea what that phrase is. they use those words the way a bored CEO uses social media buzzwords and hashtags in a staff meeting
if antis want to see true romanticizing of abuse then they can go to serial killer thirst tags and spot the fucking differences between shippers and people who forget that ted bundy was weak, flaccid, cowardly piece of shit
writing something dark or violent or whatever else and condoning the act or doing the act are different. this is why stephen king isn’t under government surveillance or in prison.
make no mistake, this anti shit only applies to fandom. they’re attacking creators here because creators out at the professional levels don’t give a fuck. they’ve tried, and they’ve failed.
creators at the professional level understand something antis don’t: that being able to reconcile your enjoyment of dark media can be a sign of emotional intelligence and good emotional health. it’s cathartic. it’s allowed to be cathartic.
the most common consumers of dark fiction are members of minority communities and people who’ve been emotionally and/or sexually repressed for one reason or another.
antis want to say that fiction doesn’t exist in a vacuum and they are 100% correct! because writing fanfiction and original fiction that relates to parts of my life that nearly killed me gives me control over something that was beyond me in the original context. writing about fucked up codependent, violent romance allows me to process my shit in a way that’s healthy and produces something fun and enjoyable.
my therapist knows i ship thorki, she knows i write thorki. i’ve had her read pieces of fanfiction i’ve written in addition to pieces of original fiction. y’know what she said? “wow, baylen, that’s vivid. you have a way with words!”
i read her a line out of smart boy and told her what the story was about and this trained professional said “well it’s a productive way to process some emotion that you clearly need to let out”
but you know what? if someone doesn’t have the trauma i have? let them write it, too! let them create and enjoy the fictional content they want! more cake, y’all!
finally getting around to one of the first parts of your ask, lol. thorki is incest. thor and loki are brothers. they were raised believing they were blood brothers, even. loki being adopted doesn’t change a thousand years of personal history where thor looked at loki and thought that they came out of the same woman, y’know?
that’s his brother and in the comics his attachment to loki is even more intense. the mcu nerfed that shit. loki’s life has been intrinsically tied to thor’s ability to feel a full sense of joy.
enjoying an incest ship isn’t some sign of moral depravity. writing abusive relationships isn’t bad. gone girl was made into an award winning movie. art should look like life, and sometimes life fucking sucks. dark stories, sad stories, fucked up holy shit idk if i can go to sleep after i read this stories exist for a reason. we need them. we have to have an outlet for our frustration, our anger, and especially our fear.
so which is the healthier option of these
to write up a piece of fanfiction where two siblings are in love in a way that might be cute and soft or might be destructive, depending on your mood?
or
attacking strangers you don’t know online and threatening violence against anyone who doesn’t think like you do?
i know what kind of person i want to be.
ship and let ship, thanks for reading my doctoral thesis office hours are always

What advice do you have about tagging? Cause I feel like that courtesy is starting to turn into another Holy War too and I don't like it. (Ie: if you didn't choose to warn for every aspect of the content you created, it's now Open Season on you and your fic. It's okay for Antis to come for you bc you were a Mean Evil Person who didn't Use Enough Tags.) What happened to Choose Not To Warn as a valid warning??
This is an interesting topic tbh, and it’s getting more heated because on tumblr, post tags also function as community spaces. (I’m not really going to address the ‘do you tag the ship if it’s a negative depiction’ debate here, but I have other asks about that.)
let’s be real: anti-shippers have absolutely noticed that non-antis advocate heavily for fic warnings. They personally would rather that content that needs warnings not exist at all, but because many people who don’t agree with antis do agree with warnings, they will exploit that. two easy ways to antis exploit warning systems:
going into a warning tag and harassing the creators of works in the tag, ie going into the ‘noncon’ tag and messaging the creators to tell them their work contains and normalizes rape.
going after creators for not using the 'right’ warnings, ie: two characters have sex while drunk & no regrets. The creator tags it 'dubcon’ to be safe, but someone starts a dogpile because the warning should have been for 'noncon’.
It’s very much a 'damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ situation. You can never win with antis: they will only be satisfied if your content ceases to exist entirely. (don’t bother to try to make them happy.)
What happened to Choose Not To Warn as a valid warning??
so for those who don’t use AO3: Archive of our Own has one mandatory tag and several options for it. we’re only concerned with the last two:
Major Character Death: one of the main characters of this story dies.
Underage: underage characters doing nsfw things.
Rape/Noncon: sexual acts are committed with someone whose consent is questionable, not given, or denied. (imho, this is a warning I would also use on dubcon. your mileage may vary.)
Graphic Depictions of Violence: graphic depictions of physical violence may make for distrubing imagery.
No Archive Warnings Apply: if your fic doesn’t contain a main character death, underage characters engaging in sexual acts, rape/noncon/dubcon, or graphic depictions of violence, you can indicate it by checking this tag.
Choose Not To Use Archive Warnings: this fic may contain character death, underage sex, noncon, or graphic violence, or it may not. the creator has elected to not warn for this content, so the reader proceeds at their own risk.
If you click on a fic with 'no archive warnings apply’, you can be sure the fic won’t have character death, underage sex, rape, or severe violence. if you click on a fic with 'choose not to warn’, you can’t be sure the fic won’t have any of the above potentially upsetting content.
Unfortunately, many people either don’t realize there’s a difference or choose to ignore it.
'why even have the option to not warn, though?’ because there are some reasons why a writer might want you to proceed with caution but not want to give specifics:
a warning would give away a major plot point of the story/they don’t want to spoil any part of the fic with a warning
they would rather the fic not appear in the warning tags
they would prefer to warn in their own words in the author’s note or summary
they’re not sure if archive warnings apply but want to be on the safe side
they just don’t want to warn
(fun fact corner~!: tagging fics with content warnings more specific than 'contains slash’ or '18+ only’ is more or less a post-internet fandom expectation. It wasn’t until 1999-ish that readers seemed to expect warnings for upsetting content and we’ve been wanking about them ever since. (for funsies, here’s a timeline of fandom meta about warnings; the earliest content is from an alt.tv usenet archive, posted in 1997.) tagging/warning is a fairly ubiquitous practice now, and I am of the opinion it’s better to warn than not, but warnings are still optional and AO3 honors that.)
That said: I personally think that 'choosing not to warn’ on tumblr is rude and/or potentially dangerous because tumblr doesn’t function well as a content archive. Unlike AO3, tumblr is terrible at content filtering. tumblr mobile doesn’t honor readmores (except in reblogs) and you can only search one tag at a time under most circumstances: therefore, things that are likely to be upsetting to a percentage of people should be warned for so that blacklists can catch it.
if you would prefer to not warn for content on tumblr, I’d recommend some of the following as possible workarounds:
flag the post as 'adult’ if appropriate, even if you choose to not include a warning.
explicitly mention that the work may have violence/abuse/noncon/etc but you’re choosing to not specify either way.
if possible, host the content off-site and provide a link.
alternatively, post your unwarned work to a blog that you’ve flagged as unsearchable, and therefore won’t show up in the 'search’ function.
another long post (should I give up on trying for brevity?), but here’s the short version:
tl;dr 1: antis often act in bad faith and it’s impossible to please them. tagging is just another excuse for coming after works they don’t like. tag at your own discretion and weigh negative feedback on its merits, not its emotion.
and tl;dr 2: choosing to not warn is still a valid option but people forget it’s a thing and get burned by it, so it’s best to be really clear about it (and if you’re a consumer, pay attention if someone says they’re abstaining from warnings!)
final note: please enjoy this 2006 LJ post explaining that fiction doesn’t have to be moral, depiction does not condone real behavior, nobody is harmed in the making of a fanwork and censorship is not the answer. 11 years of the same wank! some of the participants in today’s discourse were literally still in diapers.

if u believe in kin u believe theres no such thing as fiction, or skill in creating fiction like art & literature, u believe it just happened. u believe art & lit dont belong to creators, but 2 kin of it & its aus. u believe u have more a right to police the fandom than the creators. u believe ur the only authority on whats allowed 2 be drawn/written/talked about in fandom. its all a power trip. its not to make ppl feel better. its bc theyre manipulative brats. they hide it well. playing victims
and you’re on anon, I should believe anything you say why? Although I think I know who it is already. I’m going to reiterate a few things here because on anon you are a waste of my time. If you were off, you and I could speak of this privately, I’ve said recently I’m against majority of callouts because they’re driven by personal agendas and grievances (and gatekeeping) rather than any kind of betterment to the group. But you’re on anon so that tells me A) you’re not going to stand by your words publically so already they’re meaningless and B) you’re joining this kinhate hype train out of spite.
I make Original concept works as well as AUs, UAs, and fanworks. I know the feeling of having your art stolen. I know it sucks and it feels invalidating.
But if a few people making this shitty world better for themselves in a small way that does not change ANYTHING about where your art came from or who made it, you’re honestly just being petty. Because how many text posts and anecdotes from REAL PEOPLE’S LIVES go  viral and get tagged with #me #this is so me #this just happened to me when it didn’t?
And honestly, if you don’t want people to use it? don’t post it? Do not? you can make plenty of shit and not post it? Are we really going to condone the path of Anne Rice? Like yeah it sucks and there are things people should never do. But considering ESPECIALLY the nature of AUS we’re already perverting the source material. We don’t really get to complain when people do it to us when we ignore the creators. It’s why I don’t post a lot of AE content anymore, because I put my heart and soul into world building and filling gaps, and lazy writing from temps and forced heteronormativity have really ruined a lot of things in universe but there’s not really anything to do about it because a lot of stuff is just ignored or looked down upon by the devs and the fandom. And that’s a damn shame honestly. So the majority I didn’t post and instead turned my energies to making my own stuff. Fandom is supposed to fill the gaps in source work. But when that fails you make your own original stuff instead. Because again, with fandom it’s a line of command with the creator at the very top, not that people remember that when the creator doesn’t agree with every little thing they say.
And to end? Like that’s a really, really presumptuous and pretentious attitude you got there. between that and spelling I can’t imagine you have much that anyone would interact with, much less kin with. Like oh, if I think kin people exist I have to agree with every last little thing they say? I think Christian people exist and I don’t agree with a damn word from any of them. Do you see how that logic doesn’t follow? Creative writing and art is an escape from reality, we make it for ourselves and others to enjoy and you have to let it go and understand people are going to  experience it and appreciate it in their own ways and we have absolutely no control of that, nor should we. Art is meant to connect people, to evoke feeling and to unite people on some level. It is the epitome of the human experience in physical form. And it can take any form be is scientifical, traditional, digital, with words or pictures and so many other things. To see it as something to be controlled or only consumed in one way is just, not possible.
Also, if you think people define their own lives, selves and realities is any way policing or power tripping, you may have a misunderstanding on what individuality is, pal. I’ve wasted enough words on you though. You’re probably not even an artist or a writer or anything, just a nasty little troll that has fun screaming through your keyboard. It’s been fun though. Well, see you.
