New years kiss

Bro why the fuck aint there ANY for mihawks so far- im pissed.

so I'll do it for yall xd i have sum drafts for other characters, but i have shit to do so u get mihawk for now.

this is also kinda my first actual fic.. please spare me (┬┬﹏┬┬)

tw: Alcohol consumption (wine, ofc), Kissing (also ofc......) Sappy somewhat? overstimulated reader! *Loud sounds*, major fluff n cuddles bc ya buds touch starved, but also angsty? Gn reader ~being lover, dearest, partner, S/O, reader, and You/your

Word count: 1370! Damn-

It had been... a year, for the Dracule's. Mostly with the formation of The Cross Guild. When the warlords where disbanded, Mihawk had considered leaving his lover at a completely different island somewhere, to keep them away from what problems the Guild could bring them. However convincingly, reader got to tag along Mihawks side. Reader reminded Mihawk of his vows to his S/O,

"Through water and blood, I vow that I shall do whatever it takes, to keep you by my side. Even if the world truly turns upside down, you are not leaving my side".

Reader wasn't entirely expecting... buggy of all people. Reader preferred to stay away from buggy at all costs if Mihawk wasn't around (which mihawk greatly used as an excuse when he could). The both of them agreed to try and stay away from the... rowdier parts of the Big top ship. Which sadly was everywhere. The year was coming to an end and every breathing thing on the ship was screaming. Mihawk and reader had settled in the not small, but decent sized room they were given when they had arrived. Mihawk was enjoying a vintage, he had already drunk half of his bottle without realizing, and when he did finally notice, his attention had flicked to his lover, who was laying net to him on their bed.

Mihawk thought you were asleep, however his Haki told him otherwise. You were most definitely not asleep as you looked. He couldn't decide whether to say something, or to gently touch you, till you said something. "I can feel you staring, you a-also haven't flipped a page; for a w-while." reader said, tone shaken an unfocused. Which was HIGHLY, unlike your character. Mihawk looked to his book, which was now on the nightstand then back to his lover next to him. Sighing, he placed the empty wine class on his nightstand, and turned over to place a gentle grasp at your hip.

You flinched, swiftly bringing your hands to your ears before you stopped, Mihawk didn't take his hand away, instead turning you to your other side to meet him face to face. Your eyes were red from rubbing them, making them heavily glassy with unshed tears. "My Dearest, what has you so riled up like this?" his tone softer than normally, his face as flat as ever, tho you could notice the subtle differences that made his question genuine.

You meet his gaze has his hand moved from your hip, softly rubbing up and down your arm. Your voice shaky, "I-... it's the-" before you could finish a series of loud pops had echoed through the ship all the way to your shared room. You flinched once more, however much stronger than before. Your hands completely holding your ears down, with your knees now completely at your torso. Mihawks eyes slightly widened, his expression shifting slightly as a vein curved itself in his hairline, clenching his jaw he breathed through his noise and pulled himself closer to you wrapping himself tightly around you.

Reader first shifted at this, unsure. However, quickly they clung around their Husbands neck, burying their face into his pulse point. Their heavy breathing becoming more noticeable, and uneven. Mihawk brought a hand to caressing the back of their head, running his fingers through their hair. Shushing them, holding them as reader had done for him. He thought back thought the year, how many times reader had held and stayed by his side when he was drained or wasn't in the mood for anything. His S/O had always been there, but he couldn't recall a time where he was the one comforting reader, he could remember moments where they would seem off, however. Voice cracked, eyes red and puffy. These thoughts were interrupted by another loud crash, causing the reader in mihawks arms to startle.

"Hush.... my love, they won't last much longer." Mihawk stated as he held you tighter. You just nodded, still pressed against his neck. Mihawk honestly... had no clue how to approach you, he had so many questions he wanted to ask you. However, it didn't seem an appropriate time for such questions. he could hear a rough countdown happening outside...

"30.. 29.. 28!!"

Mihawks hand that was in your hair was now perched on your chin, tilting you too meet his golden stare as his other hand pulled you slightly away, you sniffled as you tilted your head in confusion.

"24,, 23,, 22"

"My dearest. I may not be... the most emotional human, I may not be as affectionate either. But it doesn't mean I don't know what they are, and I can tell somethings bothering you, and it has been for a while, am I correct?"

"20,, 19,, 18!!"

you stared at him, face red and puffy, you didn't know how to respond, yes, he was right, but what- why bring it up? Mihawk had just nodded, lips slightly tearing from their straight line, to a very small, unnoticeable to an untrained eye frown.

"16,, 15,, 14"

"For years, not even just this one, you have seen every bit of me. Even the parts I didn't entirely know I could express, you've been there for me, yet you have-not allowed me to aid you in your moments of distress, of need". God, his emphasis and tone on the last word. Youd think he was angry with you. or maybe even drunk...

"12,, 11, 10!!!"

Everything got so much louder. your unshed tears started to pour out, " And that isn't even the start. You act like everything is fine, never letting me help. You can't keep this up, not with what's going on around us now." he won't let up, his voice is starting to speed up. He doesn't do that.

"8,, 7,, 6"!!

"My fire and flood, love and dearest, I will not allow you to shed your tears alone, to carry this burden and mine on your shoulders alone. We vowed, to share these burdens together, had we not?" he's speaking even faster now, face lax, but concerned. You have been just staring at him, unable to form words at this. How easily, he could read you like his usual books.

"5, ,, 4 ,, , 3!!"

your tears were like rivers, pouring from your eyes, down your cheek to the sheets below you. Mihawks grip on you had tightened so significantly that you thought he was going to leave a bruise in the morning.

"If I could have just one wish, for another year with you, my dearest. Please. allow me to hold and sooth you, as you have me for years on end." His voice was cracked, he leaned in and stole whatever words you were going to say.

"2, , 1!!"

"HAPp-"

All the noise was drowned out. Mihawks lips pressed to yours, unlike the swift and soft ones he usually gave you. No, this one was different. As his tounge prodded at your lower lip, the kiss developed into a passionate, deep, loving one. The conjoining of lips locking was so different than what you were used too, but you didn't care. you craved love like this for so long, your not letting this go so fast.

Mihawk finally lets reader and him breath, placing his forehead against his lovers. "i-im sorry..." reader squeaked out, again... again... and again. Mihawk pulled them back against his chest. but they wouldn't stop saying it. Sorry, sorry, S o r r y. Why was his dearest sorry? "You have done nothing wrong, love;" he assures the babbling wreck in his neck. "; but please... can you promise me, you'll let me closer? let me help... when I can." he pleads with his reader.

Reader doesn't let up, they refuse to take their face out of mihawks neck, arms tightly around his torso. "I. c-can't promise, bu-ut I can Try." That was more than enough for Mihawk, he would have to plan accordingly for situations in the morning. but for now....

He and his dearest reader deserved some rest tonight. For Tomorrow was the start of a new day, a new year. one of unknown pain. So tonight, while they can, they enjoy the peace they do have.

Finally had a spare moment to get to this, apologies for the wait!

8- Pairing you wrote the most for this year?

So, when it comes to the pairings I tagged, technically that'd be Zelink- but all of said fics have been like... just the barest hint of this ship, admittedly. It certainly is the ship I've read the most of this year, but I tend to trend more towards genfic on the whole. Platonic relationships... are often easier for my aromantic brain to wrap itself around. It's when I want a real chonker of a writing challenge that I'll go for writing something romantic and fluffy. <3

15- What WIP are you taking into next year with you?

(All of them, but- XD)

My biggest WIP I'm still fighting to make headway on is The Ballad of Aryll- I'll be working on this one for years, likely! I think I've made great progress with it, though... In the past year I have written over 90,000 words of story notes, and have written out about 45,000 words of actual prose and dialogue. Even if I have not started posting anything for this story on AO3 officially, it's still a really cool achievement to have written that much. I look forward to where the new year will take this story... every single month that passes leads me to sprinkle in new little details and nuances.

(Cue me in the corner crying about sibling relationships and also found family)

28- Favorite work you wrote this year?

I already gave a shout-out to my true favorite fic this year in a previous post, but I wanted to give a bit of love to another fic for this one-

Clutching Destiny is still in progress- I have one chapter left to finish and post- but I've always been fond of what I've written for it so far, particularly the scene with Link and his father speaking to Rhoam in chapter two. I think it's a ton of fun to flesh out implied characters like Link's family, and I've enjoyed musing on the possible context of his upbringing through this story.

1) How many complete fics/oneshots do you have but haven’t published yet?

5, hopefully 6 by tomorrow. I'll be posting them soon 😉

2) How many WIPs do you have?

12, and I'm only counting the docs that already have a few paragraphs written or have a clear out line. Otherwise, it would be 20.

3) Do you take requests, write original fics, or both?

I love writing out my ideas, but that being said, I'm always happy to get requests. As I've mentioned before, though, I often don't have the time or energy for it anymore. The request would have to hit right with the mood I'm in that specific moment, and it might take a long time until I do it.

4) If you have requests how many do you actually have?

I don't know if they count as requests, but in the poll I made a couple of months ago, I left a free space for people to give me ideas/suggestions. Some of them I might actually write, so I'd say 5.

5) How many fandoms do you write for?

Currently, 4-ish: Daredevil/Punisher, Detroit: Become Human, Stranger Things, and Jon Bernthal. I'm counting my Fratt fics and my JB reader ones as different fandoms.

6) Are there any fandoms you used to write for?

The first fic I've ever posted was for the Harry Potter fandom, but I seriously doubt that I'll ever write for it again. Reading, yes. Writing, no.

Teen Wolf. I wrote one fic for it, but I've fallen out of the fandom after falling into other ones. I might go back to it someday because that OTP is still one of my favs ever.

7) Do you write for ships, reader inserts, or OC?

Mostly reader insert, but more and more ships. I love creating OCs for the stories, but not for the main character.

8) Niche fandom/Characters you write for?

I guess any smaller role or less known movies that Jon has been in like The Mute or Brax or Swaino.

9) Do you read fics as well as write them?

I do, but muuuuuuch less than I used to. I miss it, but writing has taken up most of my spare time.

10) Favorite genre to write for?

I love some good angst, but with a good dose of fluff. Hurt/comfort? It's honestly a big mix of a lot of genres.

11) What is your favorite trope (to read/write)?

Slow burn, Coffee shop (or anything food related) and Enemies to lovers. Mix them all together, and it's fanfiction heaven for me, both in reading a writing.

12) What do you do to get motivated to write?

Start writing? I don't do anything special to trigger my motivation to write. It's either there or not.

13) Is there a trope/genre you like to read, but not write?

Fantasy/historical. It's not really that I don't like/want to write them, but anything that has a bigger world building or a specific language is something “too big” for me. I like staying in modern time.

14) Any characters/fandoms you want to write for that are never requested?

I think that a lot of the people who read my fics or follow me here, mostly know me for my reader inserts. Meaning that my ship fics don't get as much attention, when it's something that I want to write more of.

15) How long have you been writing fanfiction?

I've been writing fanfiction even before I was aware that that's a thing. I wrote my first reader insert for Hugh Jackman when I was around 17. Ah, good cringy times XD. If I count that, then 18 years… Ouch! Posting, since 2018.

16) Did you read fanfiction before you started writing?

It was the only thing I did, tbh. I've always read a lot, but fanfiction took over my whole reading time. Before becoming a mom, you could find me sitting anywhere with my e-reader and making my way through who knows how many open tabs.

17) Do you only post on Tumblr, or any other sites?

I mostly post on AO3. I only post the shorter fics/drabbles here.

18) what do you personally consider the wordcounts of "Drabble", "One-Shots" and "Fics"?

Personally? I think Drabble would be anything under 1k. In my head, a one-shot is something that you post in one go, no chapters. I'm aware that some people can post a 90k fic with no chapters, and that isn't a one-shot in my head either. So, let's say, up to 20k I consider a one-shot. The rest are fics.

19) Which do you prefer to write more?

One-shots. I want there to be some plot to the story without it taking forever to get to the kissing, if you will. Yes, yes, I know that The Teacher and the Deputy makes this sound like a big ol' lie XD.

20) Are there any stories you have discontinued?

I'll say 2:

There's one that I haven't posted but planned to, before I changed my mind for reasons and stopped working on when I was nearly done.

I posted the first chapter of a reader insert with The Mute, but I doubt that I'll ever finish it.

21) What is one of your main "pet-peeves" as a writer on Tumblr?

How Tumblr works. It's not only for writers, but it's two I could think of right off the bat. I guess it still counts.

Not being able to find your posts/fics on your own blog despite knowing that you used a specific tag.

In the same line, posts don't show up when you go hunting through tags. It's a shame for new people who want to share their writing.

It's not only an issue here, but in general, the lack of engagement on fics and other content.

Longer fics that don't have a cut (I don't like super long posts and scrolling through them).

22) Do you write at a particular time of day?

Starting 8.30pm when my kids are asleep.

23) Do you listen to music or ambiance/noise to write, or do you need total silence?

I sometimes write in total silence, but generally, it's with movie soundtracks, or with no-talking ASMR.

24) Do you outline your fics at all before writing?

For drabbles, I come up with a general idea and write towards it. It's made for funny moments because I just write whatever comes to mind. For longer fics, definitely. All the time. You see me cooking? I'm actually thinking about a particular scene and how I want it to go. I overcooked pasta not too long ago because I needed to write something down on a doc on my phone before I forgot that new idea… XD

25) Do you post your writing as soon as you finish it, or do you schedule it to come out at a specific time/day?

I don't really schedule anything. It doesn't work for me. Except when it's for an event, of course (Spring Fling @bernthirst-events is nearly here ;)). It has happened that when I'm done with a chapter or a complete fic, I can get too eager and post it straight away. Only to realize the next day, that I've missed a lot of typos and other stupid stuff, despite editing as I write.

Okay so first of all I'm sitting here. Fucking 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺ing so hard that I think I have legit tears in my eyes about these... These sweet goddamn tags. People don't usually go off in the tags like this on my posts so this made me briefly ascend to another plane of existence from the sheer EUPHORIA that someone actually gives a shit about this not-so-little-anymore story I'm frantically spinning as I go along about these two.

To answer your question: legit, when I first sat down and draft out ideas for all the prompt squares I got for the save a witcher bingo, I originally wanted Levi to show up for only one chapter and have the other squares unconnected to it because it was a one-off "we meet once and never think of it again" kind of meeting. He wasn't supposed to linger. He wasn't supposed to stick around fore more than one chapter. He was only there because I wanted someone to call Kiyan tadpole and because I had no ideas for the language prompt and the lad happens to know a lot of them. He. Wasn't. Meant. To. Stay.

And then I was working on chapters 2-3 (the angstTM) and I still had no clue how to get Kiyan out of this mess. At the same time, I was kind of playing around with different ideas of Levi and Kiyan interacting more (like a kid playing with barbies - I mean, that's what ocs are for; exploring the setting and canon characters as well as adding to it in their own way.)

And then um, I got attached. They started to genuinely work in a strange "cryptid4cryptid" kind of way while being... surprisingly wholesome? In a way? Kiyan is 100% serious and profesional and dedicated to being an emotionless witcher, whereas Levi is the kind to try to pet the enraged fiend first and swing his sword second, probably because a part of him considers himself closer to a monster than a human or elf. I'll get to their respective issues eventually in the story and I don't wanna infodump here because this ask is already long as hell.

So tl;dr hello, thank you for existing, please ramble in my tags as often as you want. I've been on an university-related writer's burnout for the past month and a half, so this was, well... It helped. A lot. Thank you.

Also I am STILL not over the tadpole thing. it's so CUTE that as soon as I first met the lad in-game I was already attached. That, and reading Ireneus's journal hurt me physically, so this writing event fell into my arms from the very heavens. By the way, expect the next chapter soon!

I know how good it can feel to just have someone yell in them but it's always nice to get, i guess feedback back that other people enjoy it just as much xD

i don't usually tag or comment much even though i know this buuuuut sometimes i get my brain to actually cooperate and get my good thoughts out because there is a lot i enjoy and hey your fic defintely belongs there

I do love how your thought process was...similar to mine when reading through 2&3 Just a case of „okay so, next chapter Levi will come back right?“ especially with the whole calming voice and special eyes deal which just felt made for dealing with everything Kiyan has going on

I also very much look forward to delving deeper into both their characters Kiyan being an obvious one because....kiyan But Levi also definitley interests me, what with a whole school you thought up which leaves more room for playing around, but also because he just...feels off in a good way? Not in a „he has some secret evil agenda/is a monster“ kinda way, but more in an „unused to people“ way (which ofc fits with what you mentioned about him considering himself more on the monster side of the scale than human/elves; and also talking to monsters...or supposed monsters which complicates the whole witcher deal of killing monsters but I mean, talking about a solution with them so that someone can be spared or smth is a good end as well-also puts the whole „humans can also be monsters“ thing on more even ground when everyone gets some sentience and i will stop that thought there before I let my brain go on a tangent on that random thing)

I am also glad me just blurting out some thoughts made you happy, Uni can be a lot (don't know it personally bc i dont need that burnout but i see it in my friends too) so i am glad I could put some energy back in

the tadpole thing is the best and always will be (even if the seas havent been kind to kiyan....which i guess fits for a cat)

and urgh every time i reread Ireneus's journal i just-nope i hate it I sometimes reread if i am unsure about details when they pop up in my mind again (like dates or who did what and when) but god-fuck that guy

also happy to hear the next chapter is coming soon :3

the one good thing about a character so little written about like Kiyan is that there is no expectation of content so anything at any time is a miracle given by content creators (doesn't make me any less excited for it though~)

also regarding your tags on my latest art involving kiyan: if he ever does get a pre-ireneus art i will scream

it's not impossible, but its not likely I will however remain mad that all cats get to hang out and he is stuck in northern realms hell (and lets be honest, if ireneus ever got a card he'd go there too and that's just unecessary; although i would like a face i can picture punching...)

So, Randivor headcannon I'll never have time to write but I need out of my head:

Olympic AU! (Because wasn't that fun to watch?! :D)

Firstly I thought Eivor would compete at Modern Pentathlon, but then I discovered Sport Climbing was a thing.

So yeah, Eivor's an awesome sports climber.

After her parents died she went a bit feral (pickpocketing/theifery/trespass etc, winding up gangs in her spare time) and started honing her parkour - to escape police or said gang people or just for the sheer joy of being in high places.

Naturally, she got pretty good at it! And then she found a club where she could climb things and maybe even win money for it? Sweet!

And of course Randvi would have to be her manager/coach. She used to compete herself but had a fall and got an injury that forced her retirement. Moved more into admin/organisation, found up-and-coming - and cocky and abrasive and temperamental - star Eivor. Decided to take her on despite Eivor's reputation.

They clash a little bit, until Randvi learns how to press Eivor's buttons and somehow it works, and drives Eivor higher and faster than her previous coaches who tried to cool her down, make her less reckless. Randvi hones Eivor's quick-thinking and love of a challenge.

Maybe they occasionally practice against each other - or Eivor challenges Randvi to try climbing again - and Eivor let's Randvi win. But not all all the time.

Maybe one day Randvi is doing a demonstration but she's out of practice and slips, and Eivor's there to catch her.

Maybe Eivor takes a bad tumble off the wall - "I told you to use a rope, Eivor!" - and Randvi is worried - terrified, this is exactly what happened to her - and dashes over, only to find Eivor flat on her back but wearing a shit eating grin because she's just broken a personal best.

And Randvi's just broken the careful boundaries of personal space they've put between each other - coach and athlete, let's not get complicated.

Maybe that's when Randvi realises it's not just admiration, but love.

Insert tension!

Arms! All the tattoos! Very athletic body that Randvi has to spend a lot of time watching and guiding. And then a lot of time thinking about afterwards.

(And the banter, let's not get too objectifing!)

And Eivor just loves having someone to verbally spar and snark with, rather than telling her to wind her neck in. And she thinks Randvi is an actual goddess.

(And maybe Eivor does get too cocky and does hurt herself, and obviously needs help icing a wrist or an ankle, and Randvi is happy to help).

Basically, I want Eivor to kick arse and win gold, and then kiss Randvi on international television for the whole world to see - because catch up, Randvi, Eivor's been pining just as much as you!

Everyone wins! :D

But yeah, I loved sports climbing XD
