Alright my amazing fellow Phryne lovers, I need help coming up with how to decorate my grad cap to be MFMM themed. I got a good quote on the Slack chat,
“There’s a whole world out there.”
But I’m not at all artistic/creative so I’d love some help coming up with a way to decorate.

Miss Fisher Snippets (66)
I am heading to Louisville, Kentucky, for Miss Fisher Con 2022, playing dressing-up, enjoying cocktail parties, and partaking in many fun events for the next three days (August 4 – 6). Organized by the capable committee members of The Adventuresses Club of the Americas, a group of Miss Fisher fans meet up somewhere in the U.S. once a year to show the world how much we love the fabulous lady detective and her friends. This year there is an extra special reason for celebration as it’s the 10th year anniversary of the TV show. Since the debuted in Australia on 24-Feb-2012, the show has been aired over 100 countries and territories, winning the hearts of millions of passionate fans around of the world.
If you are unable to attend the con physically or virtually, I hope you will participate spiritually by re-watching the show and/or the movie, following the posts on social media (#missfishercon or #missfishercon2022), reading the Phryne Fisher book series, etc. Enjoy!

New Post has been published on https://toldnews.com/technology/entertainment/whats-on-tv-monday-ms-fishers-modern-murder-mysteries-and-the-show-must-go-on/
What’s on TV Monday: ‘Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries’ and ‘The Show Must Go On’
Tumblr media
An Australian crime series gets a new spinoff on Acorn TV. And a documentary about Queen and Adam Lambert is on ABC.
What’s Streaming
MS. FISHER’S MODERN MURDER MYSTERIES Stream on Acorn TV. The Australian crime show “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries” — about an elegant heiress-turned-detective in 1920s Melbourne named Phryne Fisher — got rave reviews in the land down under when it debuted in 2012, and gained a global following with distribution by Netflix, Acorn TV and PBS. This spinoff takes place in the ’60s and focuses on Phryne’s audacious niece, Peregrine (Geraldine Hakewill), who inherits Phryne’s fortune after she disappears and is presumed dead. And — shocker! — Peregrine becomes a sleuth, too, chasing murderers with the help of a hunky detective (Joel Jackson) and women from her aunt’s Adventuresses’ Club.
AMERICAN HONEY (2016) Stream on Netflix; rent on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, Vudu or YouTube. This nearly three-hour movie is a dizzying trip across Middle America in the company of some very reckless youth. At the outset, Star (Sasha Lane), a poor teenager in Oklahoma, leaves her family to join a group of drifters who ostensibly sell magazine subscriptions door to door. (They mostly pass the time partying and hustling gullible customers.) The story grows darker, but it also gives way to tenderness when Star becomes involved with Jake (Shia LaBeouf), a high-earner who answers to the group’s leader, Krystal (Riley Keough), in more ways than one. He’s a lot to handle, and so is Star. By the end, it’s clear that the tale is really about the baggage we carry and where it might lead us. “The movie is a sprawling anthology of contradictory feelings, sensations and genres,” A. O. Scott wrote in his review in The New York Times. “It’s an episodic travelogue, a coming-of-age chronicle and an indictment of grim social conditions.”
WAITING FOR ‘SUPERMAN’ (2010) Stream on Amazon; rent on Google Play, iTunes, Vudu or YouTube. The director Davis Guggenheim (“An Inconvenient Truth”) sheds light on the failings of the United States public education system in this alarming documentary. Educators explain how ineffective schools and teachers have kept thousands of students from academic success, and we see part of the process in action: The lens follows five children whose chances of going to charter schools rely on highly competitive lotteries.
What’s on TV
THE SHOW MUST GO ON: THE QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT STORY (2019) 8 p.m. on ABC. Last year’s Oscar-winning biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” tells the story of Queen’s electric frontman, Freddie Mercury. This new documentary jumps ahead to the band’s second life, focusing on the rise of its current frontman, Adam Lambert, who first sang with the group as a finalist on American Idol in 2009 and joined a new version of the outfit in 2012. Named after a song from Queen’s 1991 LP “Innuendo,” the movie features behind-the-scenes concert footage and interviews with Lambert, the founding band members Brian May and Roger Taylor and the “Bohemian Rhapsody” star Rami Malek.

6 most interesting blogs about traveling
The traditional travel guides with a trivial set of attractions were replaced by public blogs of travelers on various social platforms: some prefer to keep a full diary, others choose instagram. Bloggers share personal impressions, introduce readers to non-tourist routes and, of course, back their stories with detailed photo- reports.
We have chosen six blogs where you can find a lot of useful information for the future journey.
The Points Guy
The Points Guy digital platform was created by Brian Kelly to share useful tips on how to travel a lot and at the same time reduce your expenses to a minimum. The information resource has become so popular that in 2017 Kelly opened a list of the most influential travel bloggers in the world according to Forbes.
As the blogger notes, the accumulated miles and loyalty programs will optimally organize your trip. How it works? To begin with, you need to order a debit or credit card of the bank, which cooperates with air carriers, then connect the loyalty program and try to make all purchases through this card. However, this is not all - you need to be able to save miles. To begin with it is necessary to choose the program of the airline, which you fly most often. In order not to lose, Brian advises to monitor the coefficient, with which the miles are calculated.
Among other things, the blogger shares the lifhakas, how quickly to get a privileged status in each airside.
Young Adventuress
Liz Carlson began to keep a diary in the distant 2010, when this culture was just beginning to emerge. Despite the fact that there are more than 50 countries in her "portfolio", Liz writes with special love and shares her impressions of New Zealand, the country where she now lives.
Here you can find both tourist routes, and less famous ones. For example, the blogger explains in detail why it is worth to go to New Zealand's South Island in winter, and on Vaipara Hills - in the fall. Firstly, in the winter on the South there are no mosquitoes. This is important, because in New Zealand swarming insects do impress. Secondly, in winter, when the temperature drops to +10 degrees, it's time to swim in hot thermal springs. In addition, on the blog, Liz Carlson talks about how to feel like a real Indiana Jones in Jordan when going to the Balloon Festival in Cappadocia and where to see the monuments of antiquity.
The Blonde Abroad
Today Kirsten Rich's blog is visited by about 350 thousand readers, and recently the girl opened an office in Southern California and hired a small team. The blogger actively updates news on social networks, but the main thing is the site where Kirsten in details tells about his travels. Despite the fact that the girl often travels through Europe, her most cognitive posts are always about non-trivial routes to Africa, South America and Asia. For example, those who have never been on a safari or on a hunt, Kirsten recommends first to go to any safari club, where they will tell you in detail how to behave in unpredictable situations, and will accompany you on every trip.
By the way, a blog can attract those who are just beginning to discover an active holiday and want to try to spend a holiday alone. Why? Since the day the blog was founded, the author is destroying the popular opinion that traveling alone to a woman is difficult and dangerous. For example, Kirsten tells how to take care of his own safety by traveling alone. First, you need to tell your friends a detailed plan of the trip. It is also best to choose the daytime for the flight so that you do not have to travel alone in the middle of the night. And, of course, upon arrival in the country you should be especially careful with strangers. Detailed photoreports Kirsten publishes on the site, but brief overviews can be found on the personal page in the instagram.
Nomadic Matt
Matthew Kepnes is the author of the best-selling book (The New York Times) "How to Travel the World on $ 50 a Day", a book that tells how to travel inexpensively. After a successful debut, he started a diary devoted to travel. The blogger decided not only to share his impressions of the trips, but also give practical advice to novice travelers. For example, a blog will help you find the best camera for traveling and find inexpensive hotels in any part of the world.
In addition, the blogger shares tips on how to minimize your budget while traveling and not waste money. First of all, we need to make a trip plan and try to figure out the budget. Before planning a trip, you need to compare prices for accommodation and ask in detail about the conditions of stay. This will help to avoid unnecessary waste - for example, the Internet. Among other things, Matthew shares his personal impressions of pastime in the country and gives recommendations for leisure. For example, when going to Quebec, you should visit Dufferin Terrace, go to the Montmorency waterfall and try the national dishes in Chez Ashton. For those who want new experiences, the blogger recommends going to the Iguazu Falls or visiting the island of Java to see Borobudur, the second largest Buddhist temple.
Passion Passport
Passion Passport is an alternative platform that has united travelers, professional photographers and bloggers. Here is an archive of fascinating stories from different corners of the Earth. Choosing a region, the reader gets to the page, where all the materials on this topic are collected. Suppose, if you want to go to Peru, the service will offer several publications that will help organize the trip: for example, what to see in Peru and how to get to Machu Picchu.
Here you can find important tips and recommendations that will be useful to read while going on a trip. So, when going on a trip, you need to have a small set of first aid medicines: ginger tablets, which will help fight colds, general pain relievers, tiger balm that helps with muscle pain, and any antihistamine.
Travelhacks
Travelhacks is a telegram channel with which you not only can keep up to date with the latest news, but also learn a few travel stories. The channel works as an aggregator of useful articles and travel materials.
For example, how to get compensation if your flight is delayed or canceled? As they write in Travelhacks, the airline must offer an alternative flight, the opportunity to rebook a ticket for a convenient date or refund of the ticket price. But what if you still get stuck in the airport? In this situation, the company must provide hot food and accommodation.
In addition, on the page of the telegram channel you can find useful links to promotions and messages about changes in tariffs. Here you can find out about current discounts for flights to Yerevan, new flights on European loukosterov and changes in the rules of baggage transportation from Ryanair.

When you think of New Orleans, one of the first things that jumps to mind is the food. And when you think of New Orleans food, one of the first things that jumps to mind are beignets. And when you think of beignets, one of the first things that you think of is Cafe Du Monde. While this legendary coffee shop has several locations throughout New Orleans, what most people think of is the original coffee stand at the French Market - and until recently, that location was open 24 hours a day.
Now, anytime you have a place open that late, interesting things are going to happen. Late night patrons have reported seeing all manner of strange things come crawling out of the river. But the most common story associated with late night at the Cafe Du Monde starts normally enough - a friendly waiter comes and takes your order, then heads to the back of the house. And never returns. After waiting for some time, you get up to find him, but he’s nowhere to be found. Finally, you ask another staff member, only to find out that nobody that fits the description of your waiter works there. It seems that you’ve given your order to a Cafe Du Monde waiter who is still on duty decades after he died, and that you really have been “ghosted.”
And now I want a beignet, darn it!
