It's extremely funny (even funnier after last episode) to me that Ayan's surprised to find out Akk got into fights with the students who mocked him in the first years: babe the first time you ever saw him he was starting up a minivan to run over other people, he threatens to punch you every time you rile him up, he manhandles you in lieu of showing correct posture in judo and looks extremely pleased with himself when he slams you to the ground and keeps you there effortlessly, he drops the shampoo onto your head when you ask him for it, and he DID punch you right into a locker handle (ouch) as soon as you told him you'd expose him. Ayan, sweetie, quit the bad boy act: you're not a thug, you're in love with one.

I'm not the only one worried about that interaction with Ayan and his mom, right? He took way too long to answer that question, about him not leaving her too, oh the implications, and then the smile he forced as he reassured her in a placation that didn't feel wholly true.

His mom must be so scared too, I mean did you see the expression change before she pulled away from the hug? It was the face of a woman who lost someone dear to them to suicide/depression and suddenly realizing that 'oh, I know my son has been having a hard time but is he struggling the same way Dika had been?' And for it to take 12 whole seconds for Ayan to say no after avoiding her eyes, swallowing hard, letting out a little hurt gasp as if having a hard time breathing, and then smiling and reassuring her that nothing can hurt him despite the hurt in his voice/face during this whole moment?

Oh god. And then double-whammy with him bringing up Akk? That he's worried about him too? The implications of that simple statement after a whole conversation about depression and suicide, how Ayan is worried Akk might end up like Dika because they had similar positions and struggles at school. Ayan sees Akk struggling, and is so fucking scared that he might lose him, that he might not be able to save him in time like what happened with his uncle.

It adds more context to Ayan's actions with Akk on the beach after he found him nearly about to commit arson. Ayan blames himself for his uncle's suicide, whether he saw him actually do it I'm not sure but it manifests itself in his nightmares either way. "But if we didn't leave him alone at that moment, if we could stop him..." Ayan wouldn't let Akk out of his sight, making sure to stick to him with excuses like 'I need to sleep over at yours until I find the notebook,' because he was scared that if Akk was left alone after breaking down, that he might try to do something drastic.

Ayan's trauma over his uncle's suicide is why he's so pushy with Akk, trying to make him stop at all costs because he knows first hand what the school does (though not the exact specifics but enough that he blames and hates them with all his heart).

Fuck, this series might end up breaking my heart.

So this kid decided to go to a school for revenge

And it took him exactly one look to realize that he wanted the most Shrek-ed of them all---and by that I mean the one who has SO MANY LAYERS that the onion would be the one crying in front of him

And he decided to start peeling one layer at the time, and found out that Akk is completely unable to lie

Cause, think about it

At first all he got from Akk were "no's", even when he was implying that Akk was interested in him, because to be fair at the beginning Akk was more curious than anything else

Then those "no's" - when Akk started to feel something - became silences, change of topic, ways to get out of the conversation without really giving an answer

And now finally we see Ayan asking stuff multiple times until Akk gives in, saying "yes" when Ayan asks him to be boyfriends, "yes" when Ayan asks if he missed him, and everytime he smiles, and he feels so free, cause he doesn't have to get out of the conversation without lying anymore, he can just tell him the truth

god that flashback in the cafe really brought it home to me. the heartwrenching magnitude of the loss for which ayan blames suppalo. god no wonder he hates them with all his heart.

About Sani being at Akk's house. I'm not familiar with the Thai education system, but I assume some areas may be similar to the Japanese education system and other education systems in Asia. In the Japanese education system the line between a teacher's private and professional life is quite blurry, in some cases nearly non-existent. You're at work 24/7, and a lot of that work is unpaid. The school is your life. I have a neighbour who is a retired principal and I have to call him sensei even though he has never been my teacher anywhere. When Chadok returns the diary to Ayan, he still uses Teacher as his personal pronoun even though he has resigned. In my understanding, one should not use the polite address Khun on a teacher in Thai language, much like how in Japanese a sensei is never -san, because being a teacher overrides everything. Being a teacher is different from other professions, it goes beyond a career.

In this context I don't find Sani showing up all that weird, and I think there may be a cultural misunderstanding happening here. She is a teacher in charge of student welfare at the school checking up on a student who has been suspended. If anything, I think this kind of action is meant to show how much she is willing to invest in her students outside of the classroom. She's not there to prey on the youngsters but rather stepping up as the virtuous teacher, filling Dika's shoes.

I think one of the most devastating things we learned this week about Suppalo is that they sent a child to inform another child that his parent had died. I’ll say that again, they had Kan (in 9th grade he would be 13/14) go inform Thua (who would be around the same age) that his father died. I literally gasped when they revealed that. I know it is laughable to think any sort of counselor works at their school but there was no adult that could do it?!?

Aaaaand then I think about the adults at that school and maybe it was for the best. At least he got comfort. They probably would have told him to walk it off or something. 🙄🤬
